Burning an MP3 with Roxio Jam

I just purchased Roxio Toast/jam thinking that I can make MP3 discs that crossfade. It would seem that I can't. Is there a way to work around this?
Jam will not burn MP3's at all! Also I can't drag the files from Jam into Toast and burn them after I set the crossfades.
Any help would be appreciated.
iMac G5   Mac OS X (10.4)

If you choose Save as Disc Image with Jam you'll be able to open that image file in Toast. However, that still won't help you because Toast also does not encode MP3s.
Since you want these tracks to always play in the same order (otherwise the cross fade wouldn't sound very sensible) you can Save as Disc Image with Jam and import that image file to iTunes. At least I think iTunes can import a Sound Designer II file which is the format the Jam saves. Then have iTunes convert that single combined track to mp3. Now you have a mp3 with crossfades between the different songs within that mp3.

  • Can't Burn MP3s with iTunes 10

    Hello,
I am trying to burn a MP3 CD using iTunes 10, but every time I try it says "Disc Recording Not Found". I am just using a regular CD-R blank CD. It's Memorex if that helps at all.
    Thanks in advance.

Who is "itunes"? If, by "itunes", you mean Apple, then the reason they haven't replied is because this is a user-to-user forum. Apple doesn't provide technical support through this forum. If you want to contact Apple directly, use the information in the Contact Us link at the bottom right of every page.

  • Wh can't I burn a disk with songs downloaded from itunes?  It won't let me burn MP3 songs

I downloaded some songs from itunes and tried to burn them to a disk.  When I tried to burn them as MP3 I got a message that the songs downloaded from Itunes can't be burned as MP3.  Because I paid for the songs I'd like to be ablet o burn them to a disk.  Any solutions?

The songs downloaded from the iTunes Store are in AAC format.  If you wish to use them for an MP3 disc, you need to create an MP3 version using these instructions:  http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1550
Note that the conversion process creates a new MP3 version, but leaves the original in the playlist.  You can replace it manually.

  • Burning an MP3 CD's with protected AAC content

I'd like to burn MP3 CDs to play in my car stereo. The songs I have in iTunes are in a variety of formats MP3, aiif, and AAC stuff bought thru iTunes.
iTunes wont let me burn the AAC songs. I tried to select an AAC song and convert it to MP3 but iTunes wont let me do that either.
Anyone out there have any suggestions on how to do this easily? Third party software?

iTunes: Music purchased from iTunes Store cannot be burned to MP3 format CD
"Songs purchased from the iTunes Store are in AAC Protected format. You cannot convert them to other formats, including MP3. You can, however, back them up to a data CD or DVD, or you can burn them to an audio CD."

  • Roxio Jam and ITunes

I am unable to hear music that I have purchased in ITunes when I export it to Roxio Jam. It looks like it's "restricted." How can I unrestrict to be able to do fades and splicing in Jam? Thank you!
    mac   Mac OS X (10.3.9)

Apple made some changes with iTunes and QuickTime so third party applications such as Jam can no longer burn iTunes Music Store downloads. The official workaround is to burn an audio CD of the tracks with iTunes and then import those tracks from the CD to Jam where it now can do its stuff.
By the way, if you are using QuickTime 7 be sure to update to Jam 6.0.3.

  • If all the songs in my playlist I want to burn are mp3 format, will iTunes automatically create an mp3 CD? I want the CD to be in a format that most CD players can play.

I didn't know I would have to add more. What I need to know is in the title. If all the tracks in a playlist are mp3 encoded, will iTunes assume that I want it to burn an mp3 disk? What I really want is a CD that plays in most CD players everywhere, not mp3. I tried to look up the type of file that is on most commercially made CDs, and I get .cda. But then I get an argument that .cda is a file that marks the gap length and track info, and does not contain the music info at all. Computers are just too **** complex for an old geezer like me. With computers, nothing is what it really seems.
    Any help will be appreciated.
    Ken

Don't concern yourself with the type of file on an audio CD - they use their own special format.
When you create a playlist and choose 'Burn playlist to disk' you will get this pane:
Choose 'Audio CD' - that's all you have to do.

  • How to burn a MP3 CD in a single directory !?!

My question is simple. When I burn a MP3 CD with iTunes (lastest 7.0.1 or other version), it do one directory for each artist and a sub-directory for each album. It's a real problem because when I put this CD into my CD/MP3 player (including the one in my car), it take a WHILE to load the CD because it have to read each directory one-by-one before beginning to play, it's like a kind of files indexing. It's a real pain in the a**. The CD/MP3 deck in my girlfriend's car do the same. Even sometime when I put a several number of different artist on a CD, my CD/MP3 deck refuse to read the CD because it reach the maximum of directories allowed by the deck.
I try to do a DATA CD (Backup) in iTunes, but that the same problem. I just want my MP3 into a single directory in the order I put it into my iTunes playlist... is that impossible to obtain this so simple thing?
    Thank you!!
    Windows XP Pro iTunes 7.0.1

Did I have to conclude it's impossible to do that so simple thing?? ****!

  • I can't drag and drop iTunes music files into Roxio Jam 6 anymore and, now I have to import music one song at a time by using the " " or "-" buttons on the bottom. What is going on? G5 Dual 2 Ghz and OS 10.4.11

Hi. I have not used Roxio Jam for quite a long time and I just wanted to make a few CDs. Jam used to work easily and well. I have a problem. I can't drag and drop iTunes music files anymore and, now I have to import music one song at a time by using the "+" or "-" buttons on the bottom. What is going on? I trashed the preferences file and restarted Jam to no avail. I also have selected that Jam should open files with iTunes in the Jam preferences. I have a G5 DP 2Ghz PPC  machine with OS 10.4.11, iTunes 9.2.1 and Quicktime's version is 7.6.4. I have 2 GB of RAM and the machine has dual 1.25 Ghz. processors plus a 500 GB HD. Can anybody give me any suggestions?
    Thanks in advance,
    Larry

    I found an solution.
Uninstalling AirParrot as well as the two offending AirParrotDriver.kext and APExtFramebuffer.kext files in System>Library>Extensions was the fix. All problems disappeared.

  • Burning an mp3 cd for my car...and having the info read?

    Hi there,
i know how to burn an mp3 cd, but i've never made one for the car, which as the mp3 readable player.
is there anything special i need to do to the id3 tags to ensure that the artist and/or song comes across the display on the deck?
I have artist, song and album filled out per song so will that do it?
    cheers,
    keebler

I'll also add that the head unit, if separate from the CD player might not be compatible. As an example, my wife has an older Alpine head unit with CD player built in, but also had the ability to control a CD changer. A couple years after I put that in, I then got her an Alpine CD changer but got one that plays MP3s. The CD changer itself supports tags, but the head unit does not, so while the MP3 files play fine, there is no info transferred. If I upgrade her head unit to a newer model, then the MP3 tags should display.

  • Burning a MP3 CD

    Hi all
When I'm burning a MP3 CD in iTunes can I get rid of the directory structure that appears on the CD (Artist & Album names)? My car will only play a MP3 CD where all the music files are in the 'root' directory on the CD.
I can do it using Windows Explorer but it takes ages searching through the iTunes music directory for the songs I want.
    Any help greatly appreciated.
    Denny C

there's a few different directory structures you can get with an mp3 CD in itunes. fingers crossed, one of the other ones will work better for you. see this document:

  • Converting to MP3 Format, yet still not being able to Burn to MP3 CD

Bit of an odd one this - I have converted Music Tracks to MP3 Format, yet when it comes to burning an MP3 Disc, only half of them appear with a Box stating: *'The file could not be burned to MP3 CD. Only files that are already in MP3 Format may be burned to MP3 CD.'*
Why is this, when I have converted (painstakingly) each individual file to MP3 Format?

You may be able to find iDVD as part of the iLife 11 Retail Package. It is no longer sold by Apple, but you may find it on eBay or Amazon.
Other options include Toast from Roxio.
