Burning Audio Book onto disc

Hello, I am totally new to i-Tunes....
I want to burn an Audio Book lasting 2 hrs 23 mins onto disc but it wont let me, says that the disc hasn't enough capacity, fair enough but shouldn't I be able to download most of it, then put another disc in for the rest??
Or am I doing something wrong.....
Hope someone can help me.

Have a look at this article in the Apple Knowledge Base and let us know if it solves your problem.
In particular, pay attention to the statement that if "the book contains multiple files, each of which is larger than the space available on a CD-R, you will need to create separate playlists for each file and burn these playlists individually."

i just attempted to burn my purchased book from itunes onto cd's. the process seems quite simple, however each cd appears to be just 1 track. therefore you cannot move forward or backward on the disk. this means if you stop listening to a disk in the middle and you want to come back to where you were, you have to listen to the entire disk again. argh!

To burn an audioCD, you must put the files into a playlist & burn this playlist.
Leave everything checked.

Some find the mobile device transfer confusing. To load or delete a WMA or MP3 book onto an Apple mobile device do the following.
1. For Windows versions, you must first do a security update of Windows Media Player (even though you won't be using it) using Internet Explorer at http://drmlicense.one.microsoft.com/indivsite .
2. Open iTunes, plug the mobile device into the computer USB port and open the Overdrive Media Console.
3. Highlight the mobile device in the left hand menu of iTunes and insure the "Manually manage music and videos" box is checked in the Summary Tab.
4. Highlight the book you want to transfer in the Overdrive Media Console and click the Transfer Button. A window opens permitting you to click the boxes for parts of the book you wish to transfer.
5. After the book has been transfered, when you click the disclosure triangle (arrow) to the left of the iPod, iPhone, or iPad in the Device section of the left hand menu of iTunes, MP3 books will show up under the Music subsection and WMA books will show up in the Books subsection. Once the mobile device is disconnected from iTunes, MP3 books will show up in the Songs list of the mobile device and WMA books will show up in the Books list.
6. To remove a book from a mobile device plug the device into the USB port and open iTunes. Click the disclosure triangle to the left of your iPod, iPhone, or iPad in the Device section of the left hand menu of iTunes so that you can see the device’s subcontents. For an MP3 book select the Music subsection, right click on the book and choose Delete. For a WMA book, select the Book subsection, right click on the book and choose Delete.

Can you first verify that you have configured the iPod to sync audiobooks from your iTunes library? To do this, plug the iPod into your computer, and then when it appears in iTunes, select it from under Devices in the left hand pane. This shoud bring you to the iPod's Summary tab.
Now in the main section/window of iTunes look for the Books tab along the top and click on it. Under this tab you can configure how and what audiobooks are synced to your device. Before making any changes, first verify that the Sync Audiobooks option is ticked at the very top.
If you do make any changes from under this tab, be sure to click the Apply button in the lower right to sync the updates changes to the iPod.

Burning a book onto CD

How can I burn my book onto a cd. I tried to converting it into a pdf and then burning it, but I can't figure it out. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

What exactly do you want to accomplish? There are several way to burn a "book" to a CD, as a pdf file, as a QT movie of jpgs of each page, or as a mini iPhoto Library with just the book photos and the book. So id you can describe what you want we can better suggest a workflow.

TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.

Burning audio book from purchased music to CD

In burning an audiobook onto multiple CDs, I discovered that the last ten minutes of each CD did not get burned and the next CD started ten minutes later into the book -- why?

I've found that checking the Sound Check checkbox in the Burning preferences (as well as making sure that you have selected Audio CD) makes the CD more universally readable. I have no idea what Sound Check actually does -- other than making the CD play in more car stereos.

How can I burn audible book to disc with chapters?

When I burn an audible book to disc, instead of chapters itunes breaks the recording into 7 minute tracks. The chapter information is there in itunes - I can see it and navigate using it. What am I doing wrong?

What Adobe application are you working with? Are you working with a PDF file in Reader or Acrobat? Is the Save As command available? If you are using Acrobat/Reader, is the PDF password protected (do you see SECURED in the title bar)?

There are several ways you can pull the music off your iPod and onto iTunes.
There is a very direct method, which I personally prefer, but there are also numerous third party applications, which will help you accomplish the task as well. The link below provides step-by-step instructions for the direct method as well as a few third party applications if you choose to go that route instead.
Hope this helps. Make sure if you have iTunes purchases, to authorize your new library at some point.

Burning audio over multiple discs - BUT NO TRACK INFO!

This problem has been occurring for so long I can't believe I've waited this long to vent.
I went to burn a playlist to audio CD that would need to span three (3) discs. After the 3rd disc burns, I check discs 1 and 2 and neither have ANY track info. Just Track 1, Track 2, ... This does me no good. The track info only burns for the last disc in sequence. This is a repeatable problem and is so terribly annoying that it makes me wish there was a good viable alternative to iTunes.
Please help if you know any way to prevent this from happening.

Burning audio books.

Ok, So I bought two audio books and put them both in their own new playlists and tried burning them. Well I stuck them in my car and I get nothing....It says it is playing track 1 but there is no sound or track 2 (both 2 part/file audio books). What gives?
I had the second part of the book about 46ish mins on the play list first and the 1st part 2 hours and 46 mins last. But it wouldn't even change to a "track" 2 and I got no complaints about size. I did see it saying recording both parts too.
Any ideas?

I purchased and downloaded an audiobook from itunes. It downloaded in 3 parts; however, each part is too long to burn to a CD. Does anyone know a workaround for this? I'd like to burn it so I can play it in my car.

The alternative is to import your audio book in iTunes, put the chapters in a playlist and then burn that playlist as an Audio CD.
This will not be an

Depending on the organization of the tracks on the original CD, you might not notice the difference between the original and the copy.
If you don't have Toast and you only incidental want to make a copy, try the iTunes way, before spending $$ at a program you hardly use.

HT201272 I downloaded an audio book onto my iPad. I tried syncing it with my main iTunes page which is on a separate laptop (not a Mac). I got an error message during transfer and in the end, I lost the book on all devices with no record of it.

If I try to repurchase the audio book, it tells me that I have already purchased it and asks if I want to pay again? How can I get this book back?

Trying to get an MPEG Layer 3 Audio book onto iTunes

I purchased an audio book that downloaded in an MPEG Layer 3 Audio format. I have two questions...
#1 - I've researched importing MPEG 3 Audio music into iTunes and it typically tells you to just do a drag-n-drop into iTunes. Do they mean drop it into the folder that holds the iTunes music files or drop it right into iTunes as it appears on you screen when it is open?
#2 - The book downloaded as many smaller files all making up the single book. I don't want to load each individual one into iTunes do I? Or do I load all of them individually and then make a play list that will play them consecutively so I can listen to the book?

Here's what worked for me when iTunes would let me just drag an drop mp3 files into a new playlist on my PC.
-First I made sure iTunes my default audio player.
-In the folder containing them I selected all of the mp3 files I wanted to add to the new playlist.
-I right-clicked the selected files and clicked "Open."
That's all I needed to get the mp3 files into the "Songs" display of "My Music" on iTunes. The rest was straightforward. Here's hoping this will work for you!

HT203164 iTunes can't find disc so can't burn (audio books)

Help! I'm new to ITunes. On both my Windows 7 laptop and Windows Vista desktop, iTunes can't locate the disc. I ran the CD diagnostic and it says "no audio cd found"....except all the music cuts appeared in itunes and asked if I wanted to copy them to library... The instructions in this help article don't work for me -- in Windows 7, in the IDE folder in Device Manager, there aren't any IDE controllers listed for the player. In windows vista, the IDE controllers have DMA enabled. both have updated software. HELP!

Burning audio book download

I just purchased an audiobook from iTunes. When I attempted to burn a copy to CD/s I was informed I could only burn 7 copies. I began the burn, and then was informed that the playlist would span more than one CD... and by the way, it was only one track. I affirmed that warning and watched what would happen. It rejected my TY CD and asked for valid media... I tried a few more disks, thinking I may have had my first TY coaster. It rejected everything. When I canceled out of that burn, I tried to burn it again, and was warned that I had used one of my 7 authorized burns.
This is my first audiobook download... are there any secrets that I just don't know, yet? I have a Mac, but this purchase was downloaded on one of my Windows computers. Do I need to find a way to transfer these files to my Mac in order to burn them?
Any advice is appreciated.
