Burning BluRay HD discs?

How do I burn an HD Blu Ray disc from Premiere Elements 11? I have tried 3 times and got 3 SD discs! Should I select Disc (I did) or AVCHD? I also selected use full available space and it indicated a disc size of over 10GB, but the disc produced was less tha 6GB!

Follow up was much appreciated.
As for the resolution of the 00000.m2ts, when you click on the file, do you not see the frame size at the bottom as per the screenshot from my Windows 7 64 bit. I would think it comparable view wise for your Windows XP SP2.
Your Premiere Elements 11 is a 32 bit application running in your 32 bit Windows XP SP2, and it limited by the 32 bit resources. You seem to be aware of that already. Premiere Elements 11 is a 64 bit application only when it is installed on Windows 7, 8, or 8.1 64 bit. Then it can take full advantage of the 64 bit resources. This perk gets the hd and larger projects taken to completion successful more often than not. Isolating the computer from the WEB can have its good and bad sides. There may be occasions when the program suddenly decides it needs to activate a process. You need to be online for that to get that activation process done.
Right now I am heading in this direction for your issues
a. SD Disc and 576i....I suspect that is a player problem, either a malfunction or the way the reading is being interpreted.
b. The burn to Blu-ray time that you would like to see shorter...that is going to depend on the complexity of your Timeline as well as resources...I suspect that your 32 bit system resources is limiting that...but even with 64 bit application on 64 bit computer that does not always translate into "faster"...it is more a multitasking perk....are you multitasking during the burn to?...I suspect not but I will ask anyway so as not to take anything for granted.
Please review.
Thanks.

  • Burning bluray disks on Macbook Pro 17"

I have a 1080p camcorder and I wanted to burn my movies on a bluray disc so I was just wondering is there any way to play and burn bluray discs on a mac book pro 17". I tried to find some external drives and I found this two external drives:
    http://fastmac.com/blurayext
    http://store.fastmac.com/productinfo.php?cPath=10_2_52&productsid=415
so I does any one know, will they work with my mid 2010 Mac book pro 17", I have both windows and Mac OS X installed on it...

Toast can be used to burn blueray disks. http://eshop.macsales.com/articles/howto-burn-bluray-toast
This external blueray burner works on mac with toast. http://eshop.macsales.com/item/Other%20World%20Computing/MRF8BDSD12X/
fastmac should be able to tell you if their burner works with toast.
If your goal is just to play your home movies on your HD TV; I would suggest getting an apple tv instead.

  • "device error" at 99% burning bluray content to Phantom burner - any ideas? DVD works

Im am currently investigating PrE 11 after having PrE 5 and leaving out PrE 9 due.
PrE 11 is almost a pleasure to use, but I consistantly fail in checking bluray support.
One major lack of PrE 11 is that it does not allow to burn blurays to disk, wheras this option is available for AVCHD and for DVD - Adobe: why the hell did you do this?
So - I downloaded the Phantom Burner 2.0.0.0 which perfectly runs for DVD and AVCHD burning.
But when I "burn" a bluray on the phantom burner, it consistently fails with "device error" at 99%.
I included menues and removed them just to be sure whether this is the cause.
But: I can burn exactly the same footage as AVCHD in to folders as well as into a disc with phantom burner. Always in 50i 1920x1080.
The only problem exists with bluray - so I am in a deadlock - I cannot test bluray support.
    Any ideas?
System: Windows 7 Enterprise, 64 Bit, PrE 11 Trial.
    Thanks!

Please don't create two separate threads with virtually the same topic. It makes it very hard to keep up with what has been suggested to you and what you've already tried.
    >Adobe: why the hell did you do this?
Also, this is a user to user forum. Please direct any communications for Adobe directly to Adobe the clicking the Contact Adobe button.
Please continue this discussion in your other thread so that we aren't chasing two threads at once. With your permission, I'd like to lock this thread to avoid confusion and cross-talk.

  • Burning bluray - no Toast

I just bought this external Blu Ray drive (LG BP06) thinking I would have to buy Toast to burn files to a disc. It didn't come with any software (it has a DVD for windows but I never inserted it in my Mac).  Surprisingly, it worked just like a regular DVD!!!
I checked the size and all the files are there (23GB out of 25 max).  I wonder why everybody says you need Toast and nothing in Lion doc says you can burn BluRay discs.
So I am not marking this as a question since I have no problem, just curious how it works.
    Thanks

Burning Bluray data disks have not been a problem on Macs
since the later versions of Snow Leopard.  Where the issue
arises is the file system support for burning Blurays as
movie disks playable on commercial Bluray players.  Also
may be some other details as well.
This is where software like Toast is required.

  • Is it possible to burn a data disc in premiere elements 10?

    Hi,
I would like to know if it is possible to burn a data disc in premiere elements 10 rather than copy a whole project. I understand that I would be able to make further copies from this disc. Is it possible and is this information correct?
    Dave

I am not sure I understand your question... Premiere Elements is a video editing program, with disc output being a MOVIE DVD or BluRay
I think you need to use a different product to write computer files to a DATA disc
For Windows, use the FREE http://www.imgburn.com/index.php?act=download
(send the author a PayPal donation if you like his program)
Read http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1322583 for notes on installing Imgburn WITHOUT any toolbar add-ons
The Elements Tutorial Links Page http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1275830 has links about sharing to a disc

  • I want to burn blu ray discs from FVPX, compatible mac burner.

I want to burn blu ray discs from FCPX projects. I note I should be able to but any thought on a mac compatible burner. Why is so difficult to find one??

I would recommend navigating to www.macsales.com, because they specialize in Macs they can point you to devices that should work with your computer. Please make sure you also have software for burning Bluray discs, i'd recommend Titanium Toast.

  • Read/burn Blue Ray discs in MacBook Pro

Does anyone kows if it is possible to read/burn Blue Ray discs in a MacBook Pro (it have a MATSHITA DVD-R   UJ-898)? Thank you

No, the superdrive in the macbook pro cannot burn bluray.
There are some external 3rd party bluray players that will work, however consumer level bluray burners are, currently, incredibly unreliable

  • While importing and burning some CDs, my entire library has disappeared.  Also, there no longer is a "burn file to disc" command in the File menu.  I have downloaded the latest version of itunes which restored only tracks I bought from the iTunes store.

Also, the "burn playlist to disc" command has disappeared from the File options.  I downloaded the latest version of iTunes but that only restored tracks I'd bought from the iTunes store.  I also tried setting up another logon.

    Empty/corrupt library after upgrade/crash
Hopefully it's not been too long since you last upgraded iTunes, in fact if you get an empty/incomplete library immediately after upgrading then with the following steps you shouldn't lose a thing or need to do any further housekeeping.  Note that in iTunes 11 an "empty" library may show your past purchases with links to stream or download them.
In the Previous iTunes Libraries folder should be a number of dated iTunes Library files. Take the most recent of these and copy it into the iTunes folder. Rename iTunes Library.itl as iTunes Library (Corrupt).itl and then rename the restored file as iTunes Library.itl. Start iTunes. Should all be good, bar any recent additions to or deletions from your library.
Alternatively, depending on exactly when and why the library went missing, there may be a more recent .tmp file in the main iTunes folder that can be copied & renamed as iTunes Library.itl to restore the library to an earlier state. Look for a recent .tmp file that is similar in size to the .itl files in the Previous iTunes Libraries folder. If it has happened repeatedly you may want the earliest such file generated since the last iTunes upgrade.
If applicable, see iTunes Folder Watch for a tool to catch up with any changes since the backup file was created.
When you get it all working make a backup!
Should you be in the unfortunate position where you are no longer able to access your original library, or a backup of it, then see Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device.
I've noticed more of these missing library posts of late and a common factor to most since I started asking is AVG Anti-Virus. It seems in some cases it might be at least part of the reason why the library file disappears. Try excluding the iTunes folder from any AV scanning process.

  • I have created a slideshow using i Photo. How do I burn it to disc so that I can play it on my DVD?

I have created a slideshow using i Photo.
How do I burn it to disc to play on a DVD.
    I cannot access i DVD.
    Is this the problem?
I have exported the slideshow as a movie quick time file.
    What do I do next???

If your Mac is a new one, like mine, then it comes with a version of iLife that doesn't have iDVD and if so, there isn't an easy way to burn a DVD from iPhoto or iMovie that will play on a normal DVD player.  There is quite a bit of correspondence about this, but I couldn't find a good answer, apart from this:
    https://discussions.apple.com/message/18460085#18460085
I ended up buying (via Amazon) a boxed version of iLife11, which has all the same software I already have, but with a copy of iDVD with it.
Seems to work well with iMovie, but at the moment, my copy of iPhoto has crashed - see:
    https://discussions.apple.com/message/18943719#18943719
Having only just transferred from a Windows machine to a Mac, it seems incredibly arrogant for Apple to think people don't use DVD players anymore.

  • After canceling the burning of a disc in iTunes my disc drive is no longer recognized.

I have: MBP 13" 10.6.7 w/ a standard dvd/cd burner (the one that normally comes with them)
I was in the process of burning a really long playlist (requiring 4 cds) and at the end of the 4th it was taking forever (5-10 minutes?) to "finish burning" so I decided to cancel the burn and just re-burn that section on a new disc. When I canceled it started taking another 5-10 minutes and nothing would let me eject the disc because it wasn't recognized yet (I didn't let it finish the burn) - I tried disc utility, terminal commands, the eject button, everything.
I then restarted a few times trying the various ways to force eject a disc (holding down the trackpad, pressing option, holding the eject button) but non worked and then once restarted my computer didn't even recognize my disc drive in disc utility. I tried re-burning a playlist so that iTunes would maybe eject the disc in order to insert a new one but it just said "Disc burner or software not found..." At this point I have no idea what to do but I'd really like to have my disc drive working well...
I would appreciate any and all help! Thanks!

My own HP pavillion has the same problem. Try googling "Vista doesn't recognize DVD" one answer is to edit our upper and lower filters in a registry setting, another is to power down and remove battery for at least a minute and a third is a script that you can run. I only mention them because I've seen all 3 and according to the sites all 3 have met with some success. Sadly for me, no glory! Good luck as I'm still looking.

  • IDVD will no longer burn DVD+R discs

After years of happily burning both -R and +R DVD's, now suddenly my iDVD will only work with -R? I'm stranded here with no -R discs (and a new 50-pack of the other), so I hope you can tell me how to restore this function of my software. I suspect it has to do with updates that make the various components incompatible, but I wouldn't have a clue how to remedy that.
I've tried closing and re-starting iDVD, emptying the trash, removing the motion function, deleting encoded assets, moving com.apple.iDVD something something to the desktop before opening iDVD, but nothing made it keep the disc in the drive. It spits it out saying to please insert a DVD-R disc.
    Thanks!
    Roxane

    Try this:
    1. Instead of burning directly to disc, use the option in iDVD to output to a disc image
    2. Upon completion of creating the disc image, use Apple Disk Utility to burn the image to your new media
If that fails, it is likely a media issue; your drive is not compatible with your new media.
Outside of this, something else you can try is to simply see if the disc can be burned using Finder. While in Finder, you can mount writable discs in your drive for backing up files and folders. If Finder cannot mount and write to the disc, again you have a media issue.
    What to do?
Wait for Apple to update the drive firmware to handle newer media; or get an external drive that is newer; or purchase new media. The latter is your cheapest and most timely solution.
I've got quite a selection of media here and seem to notice that some brands give me the most problem. I've found that Verbatim, Sony, Fuji, TDK, and Taiyo-Yuden seem to give predictable results time and time again.
My most recent failure was with some off-brand +R DL media I picked up at a Frys sale. While trying to burn a Snow Leopard install disk, I had 3 failures in a row - drive recognized the disc and burned it, but it would not verify. Going back to one of my tried and true brands resulted in success on the first try.
    Caveat Emptor.

  • How do you burn a data disc  in ML

    Hi
I would like to burn  a few install programs to a data disc  so that should I ever need to I can reinstall them  but I  am a a loss as how to do this in mountain lion on 2012 imac  I do have a superdrive  but since i haven't done this before  not sure how to go about it.  I have  several installer  downloads  I purchased , I just don't want to repurchase them later if I can help it . thanks for all help:)
also on another note but maybe related  can I use  my old idvd program from ( not for this but future home movies )  my 2008 imac  box set???

In addition to Clinton's method (which is handy if you already have the data files in one place or are willing to move or copy them into one place), you can also make use of "burn folders" -- special folders of aliases that "Burn (name) to disc" will follow while burning. When you drag any file or folder into a burn folder, an alias is created (much faster than copying the data, and less disruptive then moving it).
Search for "burn folder" in Finder Help for more information.

  • How Do I Burn a Music Disc with Files Names Included?

    Hi,
Is it possible to burn a music disc and somehow include the file names so when it is opened in another iTunes (or mine) it will have the track listing there?
    Thanks!
    James [email protected]

As iTunes does not support CD Text you can't include track information on a AudioCD.
As a workaround you may "Submit Track Names" to CDDA through iTunes Menu Advanced after having burned a CD.

  • My Slot Drive is giving me trouble. Doesn't burn or read discs that i have/want to work!!

My Slot drive is giving me trouble. It will not burn or read discs that i have/want to work on. It makes a strange noise when i put in a blank cd and spits it back out after 20seconds. It will read third party discs no problem which is very strange indeed. Last week i burned photos to a blank disc and went to make a duplicate and this is when the trouble began. Has anyone ever come across an issue such as this before?? Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Well it looks like my media i.e. CDs/DVDs have gone past their sell by date. I purchased new discs to test your theory/bad experience and it looks like i too suffer the same fate!! It's great that this problem i have been having seems to be now rectified although it does lead me to a new issue, as the last two/three years of work saved on these discs are being rejected by my iMac If this is the case then what is the point in purchasing and burning discs for storage over a time that is quite reasonable really(at least 5years)!!!!!
