Burning bought tracks

So, as old school as this is, I still use CD's in my car. You're telling me that I can't burn a track that I purchased from itunes to a CD?
***

I know, nothing is letting me burn because it says my file is protected, It says right in the help that files purchased from the itunes store will not be burned????

  • Itunes is only allowing me to burn one track to a cd

i have never had this problem until today but itunes says it can only burn 1 track to each audio cd. this has never happened before and i regularly burn cds. it says that it will require multiple audio cd's for a playlist and only burns 1 song to each disc. these songs are average (3-4 min.) length so i dont understand the problem. any suggestions?

I'm having a similar problem since downloading Itunes 8.0, in that when I burn a CD, it burns the first 2 or 3 songs, and then quits with an "error 4200" message. I've tried everything. Apple support sent me the basic instructions on "how to burn a CD"! I've been burning CDs with ITUNES since 2000. I've tried every fix I can find and recently decided to switch to MP3s because the WINDOWS MEDIA PLAYER on my computer will burn CDS just fine.
One thing that I am finding is the BRAND of CD-R can affect performance of your burner. I'm going to try to switch to another major brand of CD-R and see if that makes a difference. The ITUNES burner software seems to be a little more finnicky than the Windows software. Unfortunately, there is no other software available for Itunes because of their proprietary system of MP4s they use, and you can't convert them to MP3s to use the Windows software.
So after many years of being a happy ITUNES customer, I'm switching over to MP3s and going to use the Windows player and AMAZON as my store. I recently began to re-buy music that I had in ITUNES using AMAZON and downloading the same songs as MP3s.

  • "Sound Check" - Setting 1 volume level burning multiple tracks-iTunes7.1.1

    Hi,
I've tried to get one playback level after burning many tracks onto 1 CD.
I found the Sound Check option under Preferences/Advanced/Burning; but, I still get one or more tracks still out of level with others (a shock to one's hearing on playback).
Any help to obtain the desired result would be much appreciated.
    Thanks,

  • Unable to burn purchased tracks to CDs - MP4 format

Has anyone solved this one? I have my preferences set to audio CD? I'm wondering if its because I am using CD RWs should I just try CD Rs?
If I cant burn the purchased music to CDs theres no point in buying from iTunes.

How are you trying to burn the tracks? Do you know that you need to create a playlist and burn it to CD rather than burn the tracks directly to CD?
Your purchased music is covered by DRM, so this restricts the number of times you can create a CD with your purchased tracks. You can only burn the same playlist to CD up to seven times. If you've already burned your purchased album then you'd be better making a copy of the CD you've already created.

  • Sometimes when burning a cd with iTunes it doesn't burn all tracks selected.

When I burn an audio cd sometime all tracks aren't burned to the cd.  It might burn the 1st 4 tracks and then for the rest it makes a sound like theres a plug not all the way plugged in wasting my cd.  What is causing this problem.  If I burn an mp3 cd everything usually works out fine.

    This same thing happened to me about two months. ago. I bought a new harddrive for my previously-fried netbook, and when I installed iTunes it gave me the missing registry business. So I came online and looked for solutions. This solution led to a different 'can't burn' error in iTunes, and I found a solution to that one, and it was like I was running in circles for a solid two weeks. Finally I managed to fix the problem, but after trying it hundreds of times I couldn't tell you which solution won out. Well, everything was fine and dandy, until I upgraded iTunes last night. Now its back to the same registry settings problem, and I want to maim something. Someone please help me ;___;
I'm running Windows 7 by the way, on an Acer aspire netbook

  • Burning long tracks spanning several CDs: Can I change burn length per CD?

I bought three very long tracks totaling 18 hours from iTunes. I want to listen to them in my car through a CD player. I burned the CDs (16 CDs total), and iTunes filled the CDs up to the brim (80 minutes each) when I burned them. Today I listened to the first CD, and near the end of the CD the sound started to cut out until it finally wouldn't play. The first hour of that CD was fine. I suspect that I can't burn that much onto my CDs, and would like to split up the long tracks into, say, 60-minute chunks per CD rather than 80-minute chunks, but cannot find a way in iTunes to do this.
Is there a way? Or do I have to try a hack with some other program to do this?

    Hi
The error log doesnt provide any very useful information.
According to this error log the simulation was running correct but the burning process was not started.
In such case its very hard to say why it happens. Possibly the drive is damage and cannot calibrate the lens properly or you use not compatible medias.
The burning process depands also on the fiels and data which youwant to burn.
Some data, CD, DVDs are encrypted and its not possible to burn and to copy it.
In other case you could also try to burn the medias with lower speed and not with 24x.
But in worth case you the drive has a malfunction and you have to replace it ;(

  • UJ-85J Burning Problems: Tracking Servo Error

After several successful burns today (and many more throughout the past year), a few burns at the end of the day using Toast 8 Titanium have produced the following problem:
    +The drive reported an error:+
    +Sense Key = HARDWARE ERROR+
    +Sense Code = 0x09, 0x01+
    +TRACKING SERVO FAILURE+
It would happen at about 6% or so and it failed in writing both the lead-in and lead-out of the DVD+R media. I tried several discs from that stack and another brand, but it continued to fail. I have a Matshita UJ-85J drive. Any suggestions?
    Thanks,
    CJB

Hello and Welcome to Apple Discussions.
I think you should contact AppleCare. Without stating the obvious, it looks like you have a hardware error.

  • ITunes burned CD track info does not show in another mac.

iTunes burns a CD of imported LPs.  Track info was entered with Audacity, saved as aiff and then imported into iTunes .  The track info shows up in my car CD player but not another mac.  Any suggestions?

Update: after trying 6 discs that failed, the next few worked fine. Both iTunes and Finder displayed the actual disk name and track names. However, going back to the previously failed disks did not change the outcome. They still failed. That worked for another 6 or so disks, then this morning I ran across another one that got looked up in iTunes, but not in Finder.

  • BURN MP3 TRACKS WITHOUT FOLDERS

HOW DO I BURN AN MP3 DISC WITH JUST TRACKS? MY PLAYLISTS BURN WITH MULTIPLE FOLDERS WITH TRACKS INSIDE THE FOLDERS.
THANKS IN ADVANCE FOR ANY HELP!!!

Thanks a million for the tip on sorting by song title. It worked great for what I needed. Now I show 1 folder with all 50 tracks in order ready to go!!
Sort the songs how you want, drag them directly from
the playlist to the CD/DVD drive icon in My Computer
    and then Burn them.
    You don't need iTunes.
I really appreciate the additional tip as well!!!
For some reason this suggestion is not working for me. I tried dragging and dropping the playlist itself, then the songs inside the playlist, both to the dvd/cd RW icon and opened the icon and dropping inside that. I put a cd in the drive to see if that was it and re-did all of the above and got nothing. I also "selected all" and did a copy/paste. No song files appear in the display??????
I must not have it right. Any suggestions?

  • Burned CD Track Names

Hi I am having trouble getting track names on cd in Waveburner. I am using a 17" Macbook Pro with an external burner. I have checked the burner with drutil info. It shows that it does write CDText. And, I see the track names when I use drutil cdtext. I am using my car stereo(which does show cd text) to check for the text. Discs that I burn in Waveburner do now show any text in my car. However, cds that I burn on my pc using CD Architect do show cd text. So, for now, I have to burn my masters in CD Architect to show the text. I think I have the settings in Waveburner set correctly to burn text, but there could be something I missed. Any ideas? Thanks.

Thanks to all for the info, we are getting close.
So, iTunes has to look up the info that is registered with Gracenote. I went to their site and will go through their registration process, but what about everybody else in the world. I can't believe that everybody has to be hooked up to the web and look up in some distant database to get track names to show up. Aren't they there in the subcode? What about someone playing the CD in a car? What about all the PC people in the world, (there still are a few)? Waveburner is supposed to be a "Mastering" program isn't it? That's all I want to do without paying a grand for someone else to "master" it for me. (mastering engineers do a great job I know, I mastered records with John Golden at K-Disc Mastering in LA back in the day, now I just want to do it myself in my own studio) I want to burn small quantities of our projects (100 or so) ourselves to sell at gigs and as promo copies. And then as a project gathers a little momentum, go to a regular duplication place for larger runs. Does anybody know if WB will do that, and have the names show up just as other commercial disc do? (not in iTunes) Thanks again for everyones input.

  • Burning individual tracks from playlist

    Hi All,
I have a playlist of around 70 tracks. I need to burn them individually for DJ'ing. Is there a way of only selecting the indivudal tracks within the playlist to burn? Rather than go through my whole library or burning the entire playlist?
    Cheers

It's been a while since I've had to do this. Is it been this way for a while?
iTunes burning has always worked as Roger describes, i.e. by playlist.
I am not aware of any burning program that could go through a single list of 70 songs and burn one at a time to CD, although such a program may exist.  Most likely, you will have to make a one song playlist, burn it, repeat 70 times.

  • Burning my tracks to CD

I have had my ipod mini for months and its driving me mad that I can't put my songs onto a CD. I put it on audio cd and press burn like it tells you to and it puts the songs onto the CD but I can only play them off my CD on my computer- the CD won't play in my car stereo or any of the CD players in my house. It says there is one track on the CD when I've put a full album on but nothing happens. What am I doing so wrong?!!?

Yep, I am following the instructions: I do select audio CD and it's on maximum possible for preffered speed. By nothing happens, I mean the CD doesn't play any sound- on the display when I insert the CD, it tells me how many tracks are on the CD. When I put one I've tried to burn on, it tells me there is just one track on the CD when there should be a full album on it. There is no sound and it looks like it's just playing a blank track if you know what I mean?!? I've also tried different brands of CD's but it makes no difference.

  • ITunes audio cd burning gap track problem

Hello! When I burn an audio cd in iTunes, and chooses to have a gap between the tracks, there still is no gap between the tracks on playback of the cd.
I have tried both 2, 3 and 5 seconds gap, but yet no gap.
I have also updated my iTunes.
Seems like a bug in iTunes? Anyone who can help?

Is any crossfading turned on?  Go to the iTunes menu, Preferences, and on the Playback section make sure it's turned off.  The gapless playback feature was removed with itunes 11 (and never really affected playback anyway, which is probably why they removed it).
