Burning Cd's from playlists

Hi, when i try to burn cd's from playlists everything seems to work when it comes to everything processing through but when i try and play the cd only about 12 out of the 18 to 19 songs play but the rest still register as being on the cd. Any help would be appriciated thanks

The general assumption is taht if you have network access through iTunes, you'll have netwrok access through Windows, and that you can add any files in question to iTunes directly.
iTunes doesn't allow you to burn files from a shared playlist.

  • Multiple Audio CD Burn, Navigation Away from Playlist Breaks Things...

Wonder if anyone else has noticed this behavior:
I was burning a playlist to Audio CDs. It was a 2 disc set. While iTunes was busy burning the first disc, I navigated to another play list, and looked at some stuff. Then I went to my Party Shuffle to see what was coming up (as this was already playing before I started the burn of the other playlist).
Then, the first disc completed and ejected itself. At this point, iTunes usually asks for another disc. But not this time. I put in another CD, but I was prompted by the system for action. It appears that if one navigates away from the playlist that you are burning, it breaks like this. In a previous 2-disc set I burned, I did not change the source (navigate away) and all operates as it should.
Anyone else experience this? Do you think it warrants a bug report?
    Beavis2084

    I think this is worth a bug report - unless there's a
way that you can start burning from the second CD
    again
I looked and looked for a "resume" function, no joy.

  • Can't burn a CD from playlist I have reduced speed to 2 but can only burn part of playlist and a medium error occurs

Can't burn a CD from I tunes playlist, I have tried reducing speed to 2 but it will only record 11 of 19 tracks and it abort with a "medium Write error" message.
I have tried changing CDs but this doesn't make any difference.

From posts I've read all around the Internet, there does not seem to be a simple solution. The word "Medium" refers to Media (CD,DVD) So logically you'd think trying another brand CD would work, but you've tried that. Another alleged fix is reducing the write speed, and you've done that.
Other fixes that worked for a few people were cleaning the optical drive with a cleaning CD or gently spaying compressed air into the slot to clean out any dust buildup.
Searching these Forums will find a few threads on the topic (search "medium write error in iTunes")
Googling the same search criteria brings up a whole page.

  • Receiving "internal error" when trying to burn mp3 disc from playlist

I'm trying to burn an mp3 disc from a playlist that I've created. Unfortunately, I keep getting an error. I'm currently running iTunes 11.0.2 on my iMac which is currently running 10.8.3.  I've done this many times before, and this is the first that I've had this problem. Here's the error I keep getting:
The attempt to burn a disc failed. An internal error occured.
If you want to retry the current failed burn, click on Retry. If you want to go to the next disc burn, click on Next. Otherwise click on Cancel.
    Here's how it goes down:
I've created a very long playlist which will require the use of multiple discs.
I right-click on the playlist and select to burn the playlist to disc.
I then get the usual burn settings pop-up menu where I select the "MP3 CD" format with a preferred speed of "Maximum Possible"
Note: Since experiencing this error, I have tried varried speeds ranging from 8x to 24x; I still get the error.
Note Also: I have tried selecting "Audio CD" instead, and the playlist will burn and the error does not appear. This is not an option I want to go with, however, because of the length of the playlist — it would take, like, 25 discs...
For a moment iTunes will read the disc, then ask permission for the playlist to be split across multiple discs. I say "ok".
At this point, iTunes will say that it is initiallizing for about a split second then immediately say it's finalizing and spit out the disc. This is when the error pops up.If I select to "Retry", it doesn't retry to burn; it just saves a .txt file to my desktop that is  a copy of the error message. There's no error code/number or anything, though - just the exact same message. "Cancel" and "Next" seem to behave correctly, though.
I have tried repairing disk permissions and restarting my computer. I've also tried using different brands of CDs: Memorex CD-R and Innovera CD-R. The error persists.
Any help on this issue would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

  • Can't burn CD's from playlist

I downloaded every CD in my collections to I-Tunes and then created a playlist consisting of one album.  When I went to burn to CD I received the following message. Files can not be burned to an audio CD.  When I click on each song it says the file can not be found. How is this possible when I selected it from my library?  When I ask I-tunes to locate the file that does not work either. Any thoughts?

When you right-click and choose Show in Explorer, can you see the song file?  If iTunes does not have song the file accessible, it will not be able to burn it.

  • Burning individual tracks from playlist

    Hi All,
I have a playlist of around 70 tracks. I need to burn them individually for DJ'ing. Is there a way of only selecting the indivudal tracks within the playlist to burn? Rather than go through my whole library or burning the entire playlist?
    Cheers

It's been a while since I've had to do this. Is it been this way for a while?
iTunes burning has always worked as Roger describes, i.e. by playlist.
I am not aware of any burning program that could go through a single list of 70 songs and burn one at a time to CD, although such a program may exist.  Most likely, you will have to make a one song playlist, burn it, repeat 70 times.

  • Recording level is too low when burning CD from playlist

When burning a CD from playlist, the resulting CD has a lower recording level than in the original recordings.  How can I adjust this?

It sounds like you are having a similar problem to the one I was having when I was downloading my cds to itunes. The whole album would download but some of the songs would be on a different thumbnail instead of in the same album. Although the albums had the "artist" listed already it would still go to a separate thumbnail. It took me a while to search and figure it out through trial and error but if you right click on the album and when the tab pops up you go to "get info" and select "yes" you want to "edit information for multiple items" you must input the "album artist" and it will automatically import it into the correct album it originally came from. Some of them you have to input the information manually through the "get info". Hope this helps!!!

If they were songs you purchased from itunes, try redownloading them from your purchases...
if that doednt work, make sure the optuon to copy files to itunes media folder is checked in settings, then find and download from the net. and re-add them to your library

    Hi iTunes-1,
Welcome to the Support Communities!  The error message you posted indicates a possible firmware update is needed for iTunes for Windows to work with your CD drive.
iTunes for Windows: Updating the firmware on your CD or DVD drive - Apple Support
    http://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201852
Having outdated firmware can cause issues using CDs and DVDs with iTunes for Windows. Firmware is a type of software stored in a chip in hardware that can sometimes be updated.Identifying drives and firmware versions
To run CD Diagnostics, follow the steps in this document.
After following the steps to run CD Diagnostics linked above, look at section three to find out more about your optical drive(s).
Here is an example of what section three might look like:
In this example there are two drives. Drive E is a Samsung DVD-ROM drive with a model designation of SD-616 that has firmware version F000. Drive F is an NEC drive with a model designation of NR-7900A that has firmware version 1.08.Updating the firmware
If the optical drive you are using came with your computer, check with the support site for your computer for a firmware update. Typically you will need to go to the support website for the computer maker and click on a "downloads" or "updates" link, and then enter your computer model designation and operating system version to see what updates are available. Then look through the available updates for a firmware update for your optical drive. Download the updater and run it. If you need assistance applying the update, contact the maker of your computer.
If the optical drive you are using came as a separate part (was not included with a computer), check the support site for the drive maker for a firmware update. Sometimes the manufacturer is not clear in the CD Diagnostics results. In that case, you may just have to search the Internet for the drive model designation. You can usually find out who made the drive by looking through the results of such a search. Once you have identified who made your drive, go to the support website for that company. Look for a "downloads" or "updates" link, and then enter your optical drive model designation. Download the updater and run it. If you need assistance applying the update, contact the maker of the optical drive.Verifying that the firmware was updated
    Run CD Diagnostics again.
Examine the CD Diagnostics results. The firmware version for the drive should be the new version.

Also, you mentioned that you have been successful burning a CD with the Windows OS.  Make sure that you have closed all software programs that can access the CD burner so that there isn't a conflict for the drive.   Sometimes chaning the burn speed from "maximum" to 8x can also help in this situation.
I hope this information helps ...

When trying to burn a cd from my playlist it get to the finalising process and after quite some time ejects the cd with a "error 4000" message.
So here is what I have done to date:
    - changed from max to 8x

    - changed cd
    - checked cd text
    - unchecked cd text
    - updated itunes & quick times

  • HT203164 Error trying to burn a CD from an iTunes playlist - files not found on hard drive??

I have a new computer with Windows 8 Home Premium.  Before the old computer crashed, I had backed up all my iTunes Media in the cloud.  I had also purchased a soundtrack album from the iTunes store and put the songs into a playlist.  All media was matched with the new computer, and the new computer was authorized by me in iTunes, so all my previous media shows up in iTunes on the new computer.  The only symbol next to the song titles in iTunes for all my songs is a picture of a tiny cloud.
When I play the songs in the playlist from the new computer in iTunes, they all play just fine.  However, when I try to burn a CD with the songs in the playlist, I get this error message (it has no number associated with it):  The song "[name of song]" could not be burned because the file cannot be found on the computer hard drive.  I tried burning CD's from any other playlist but was not able to burn a CD from ANY playlist; I get the same error message no matter what I try to do.  I would really like to be able burn CD's from iTunes, because that's what plays in my car.  Hooking up an iPod in the car does play music, but it is faded and of bad quality (my car is an '05 model).
Does anyone have any ideas on what is wrong here and how I can fix it so burning CD's in iTunes will again be an option?  I don't burn many CD's but would really like to be able to do so.  The version of iTunes I have is 11, all the iTunes files are updated, and the CD drive is working fine,  I am able to play CD's in iTunes from it and burn other songs to it using another media player.  I am also using top-quality new blank CD's, and when trying to burn a CD from a playlist, I select Audio CD with 2 seconds for the gap between songs, and the album text, then I select Burn.  I've tried selecting other options in turn, but get the same error message.
Thank you in advance to anyone who can help with this issue - it seems I am the only one having it.

I actually solved this problem myself.  I discovered, while playing around with the new iTunes, that clicking on PLAYLISTS on the menu bar shows the playlists that I have created on the left side of the window (like the old iTunes used to do by default).  I scrolled down to the playlist I wanted to burn to a CD, right-clicked on it, and a menu came up.  I selected DOWNLOAD....this downloads my playlist songs from the cloud to my computer hard drive.  After that, the little "cloud pictures" next to my songs disappeared, and I was able to burn the CD with no problems.
I hope this helps someone else....I was quite lost for a while.  Which is amazing, considering how user-friendly most Apple products have historically been.

When I try to burn a CD from a playlist, all goes well until I click on to the pulsating "Burn Disc" Icon. Then, itunes freezes. I cannot execute any function at that point other than to use Windows Task Manager to shut down itunes. When I burn a disk from my playlist the songs are out of order. How can I fix this? Thanks!

I'm not 100% sure but I think you create your play order manually then select the playlist, right click it (or use ctrl+click) & select "Copy to play order".
I think when you burn that playlist it should obey that order, it has been so long since I made a mix CD that I'm not certain, good luck.
