Burning CD's in Mac 10.2.8 that read on a Mac 9.0 system
I have tried everything imaginable to burn CD's on my G-4 Mac, system 10.2.8 computer that are compatible with my husband's G-4 Mac 9.0 system. Nothing works. HELP!
I've tried burning in read-only. In compressed files. In PC files. in Mac-Standard files. and yes, I began with Mac-Extended files. NOthing works. I've looked at the Extensions Manager on his computer and everything is on.
Can ANYONE help me? Obviously, I'm not a pro. He refuses to update his system (does "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" ring a bell with you?!), so that's out.
I sure would love someone's advice!

I've tried both the Finder and Disk Copy to bun the CD's.
I don't have Toast. Can I just get it from the internet?
I have burned CD's in Mac Standard (as opposed to Extended) Formathe CD. Is this what you mean?

Trying to access backup of other mac on time machine that backs up two macs

Is there anyone that can help me:
I have a MacBook Pro and a macmini, both are backed up on the same time capsule. At the moment I am unable to use my MacBook and desperately need to access some files from the time capsule. I can access time machine on the macmini and if I try to browse "other time machine disks.." it only gives me the option to look through the macmini back up, not the MacBook one. When I connect to the time capsule disk I can see both bundles for each computer.
Any ideas would be very much appreciated.

This may not help, but try mounting the MacBook "sparsebundle" file before you try to access its content. -

I have a photo cd from photographer that was burned on a mac but it will not open on my mac. It goes in, makes some noise, then ejects. My system pref. is set to open iPhoto when a photo cd is inserted. She has sent me 2 disc and both do the same thing. Any ideas?
NOt an iPhoto issue - either a bad CD or a bad Superdrive on your computer - no way for us to tell try the CD in a different computer

I am trying to burn a music cd on iTunes, but I am getting an error that reads that the cd burner is being used by another application. I know that I am not using the cd burner for anything else. I have restarted the Mac and nothing. Any ideas?
One other thread said it was fixed by waiting till prompted by iTunes to insert the blank disk, instead of putting it in first. Does that work? Found a number of hits on this Googling.

it has been a while since we have last spoke, I would like to let you know, I am still working on getting used to the switch from windows to a Mac/Apple system. I do have a new question for you, I did purchase In Design CS5.5 through journeyed.com through Cuyahoga Community College of which I attend as a student, is there a way to purchase an online book through iTunes to learn that as well? Also, you know me, the struggling student, I would also, when and if the book can be purchased through the iTunes, would need to know if you do know of a much easier book for struggling students like myself and at a reasonable price as well for the In Design CS5.5 program. Our campus bookstore had closed early, and, so did the colleges library and our local library here where I do live, so, I cannot go to either place to purchase a book or to take out a book, plus cash funds are low at this moment as well but, I do have money left on the iTunes account to use, if it can be used. So, can it be used, the iTunes money, towards finding a low priced online book? I am in great need of assistance as I have a project due for my one course for this Tuesday, September 4, 2012.

Hi all new here, am just learning and when i activate the dodge or burn symbol i click over the area to be worked and my Mac freezes. only in the elements software. if i go out of elements i cannot get back in and have to force a software close, any suggestions and please help

I burned a DVD of photos but it will only work on a Mac.
I copied photos (jpegs) from a flash drive onto a DVD-R disc. Then, I used disk utility to create a disk image of the DVD and burn a copy of the disk image onto another DVD-R disc. Both discs work in my computer (running OS X 10.9.4). However, the 2nd disc that I burned using disk utility isn't working on a PC. The PC says that there is a disc waiting to be written when I try to open it. But I can open it and look at the pictures on a macbook. Any thoughts on how to make this readable on a PC?

I'm making a DVD with my iMOVIE and when I tried to burn a DVD I got an error message that said
"ERRORS IN PROJECT
There were errors during the project validation that have to be fixed before burning the project."
What does this mean and how do I fix it.

I want to install Win7 on my new iMac using bootcamp. I got a USB drive for the win7 install-disc, but I don't own a cd for the Mac OS (since it was preinstalled when I got it). I read somewhere that I need a mac OS disc as well to complete the bootcamp installation of Win7 ?

you don't need OS X install-disk, but I strongly recomend to burn a Win 7 disk. You may have some problems with installing it from a USB Flash :)

To burn a DVD with iDVD from the latest version of iMovie, you have to export the movie using the Export button and select 480p as the size. Open iDVD and start a new project, then drag that exported movie file into the iDVD menu window, avoiding any drop zones you see.
