Burning CDs from iTunes Playlist

After the burning process is complete and I test the burnt Cd for playback; I get the message "you have inserted a blank disc" I am using blank audio cds that have been ok in the recent past. Can anyone help please?

You will probably want to check out the following:
http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=60784
It should answer most of your questions very thoroughly.
With regard to your question about the iTMS music contained on the audio CD, the DRM is removed when you burn purchased/protected content to audio CD. You are limited in terms of how many times you can burn the same playlist when purchased/protected content is part of it, etc.

Cannot burn cds from itunes purchased cds or itunes playlists

    Hi Queenv77,
Whether or not the track infomation shows up on a burned CD depends on if you are creating an Audio CD or an MP3 CD; track information is not available on audio CDs. The following articles have more information regarding burning CDs from iTunes:

  • Burning CDs from iPod playlist

Hi, I want to be able to drag songs from my iPod playlists into the library stored in my computer, so that I can burn CDs. It won't let me drag them... help!

I want to be able to drag songs from my iPod playlists into the library stored in my computer
Do you mean from library to your playlist, right?
Try to create a new playlist (not smart playlist), open iTunes ->Files-> New playlist. Then drag the songs from the library to the new playlist

  • Burned CDs from iTunes purchases play in some stereo units and not others

My car stereo has no problems playing CDs I've recently burned from itunes purchases. My wife's car stereo can't! She doesn't have an ipod dock in her 9 year old car so it's CDs or nothing. Anyone have any ideas why the discs won't play in her car but do play on every other CD player (including my PC) that we own?
Her car stereo has no issues playing other CDs, including CDs I've burned from itunes which were originally uploaded from CDs by me.
It seems to be the most recent three purchases from itunes that are the problem. Do I need to convert the AAC files back to MP3 before burning or some other clever cheat?
    Thnx in advance

Thnx for the comments Chris CA.
Yes, Audio CD is selected when I burn the CDs.

Got this weird problem that I havent come across in any other postings. When I try and burn a cd from iTunes it completes burning apparently ok. But when I test back the cd all the track points have slipped so they're not at the start of each tune as they should be. It even cuts off a fraction of the first tune. This must corrupt the cd in a way as altho it plays okay on PC it doesnt play on my hifi cd player anymore, which it used to do. When I say used to, the only difference i can think of is that I have my itunes library on an external drive now (as you can see from my diagnostics). I burned cds fine when the library was on my c drive. Maybe this is coincidence, I dont know. If this is the problem how i can get mend it? Thanks.

If I'm guessing correctly, you've successfully burned an Audio CD. Use a program taht reads Audio CDs (iTunes, MusicMatch, Windows Media Player, etc.), and you'll be fine.

  • Can't burn CD from iTunes playlist because of ERROR "2131"

Well, as my topic says I can't burn cd's from my playlists. That really suck.
I allways get error "2131". Does somebody know what that error is or what I should do to get the burning-thing working??
    Thanks for all help!

Okay..this error does not exist anymore.
I searched on "2131" in this forum and then found a link to where I could download some "uppgrade"-thing.
When I did that the problem was gone

  • Can't burn CD from itunes playlist

The burn key that is supposed to be at the bottom right of the itunes screen is not there. So I can not burn some selected songs to a CD. Is there a way for me to get the Burn option to show up?

It shows up when you select a playlist.

why can't i burn cds from itunes in the cloud?

If you mean from iTunes Match without having them on your hard drive, then that's because they aren't on your hard drive.

  • Burning CDs from I-tunes

When I burn CDs from Itunes, and rip them to my other PC, the track names and other info dont transfer? How can I resolve this issue?

If you want track names to display when you're playing a cd, go to Preferences > Advanced > Burning > Check Include Cd Text. I don't believe these info will carry over if you created a MIX cd, however. If it's just a copy of a commercial cd and such, it may find it, however.

  • I am trying to burn some cds from my playlist on itunes, but my playlist shows many of my songs in light print and says that it will not burn because it is not a file, these are all songs I have purchased quite a while ago, how do i get them to files?

If they were songs you purchased from itunes, try redownloading them from your purchases...
if that doednt work, make sure the optuon to copy files to itunes media folder is checked in settings, then find and download from the net. and re-add them to your library

  • I can no longer burn CDs from my iTunes (Macintosh) playlists. The format shows up as m4a - which never used to happen.  Can you help?  Thanks.

I can no longer burn CDs from my iTunes (Macintosh) playlists.  The songs are now formatted as m4a, which might be making them unreadable by my CDs, although this never used to happen before.  Can you help?  Thanks very much.

After you select Burn, you need to select AudioCD in the pop-up window.

  • CD burner will not burn audio cds from iTunes

I have an Iomega external CD-RW burner that has been working perfectly until now. When I try to burn a cd from a playlist in iTunes, after inserting the blank cd... it says that it is checking the playlist, then the status goes to preparing to burn... and nothing happens. The drive almost appears to be unresponsive & itunes seems to have frozen, but they don't. So I have just ejected the disk and it's blank.
I've tried resetting the computer, power, changing the location of the usb connection, different cd-rs, nothing works.
I tried burning a data cd, which was successful. I just don't understand why it won't burn an audio cd from iTunes. Is there a problem with iTunes? Because it doesn't seem to be the cd burner since it is able to burn data cds.
Any help would be much appreciated. Thank you.

I think it has always been the case that for burning
CDs with iTunes, the requirement is that it is an
internal Apple CD burner and that external ones might
    or might not work.
I have used external burners in the past with no problems.

  • Burning CDs from playlist problem

I have tried to burn CDs from my Itunes playlist, but all I am getting is a disc for each song with the MusicMatch logo, track number and a 1KB...I have tried to uninstall MusicMatch to no avail. And even before I got Itunes, I could not access MusicMatch. Is there a conflict between the two causing the problem? As a matter of fact I can't burn anything even using Sonic and Nero. Help!

  • I can burn CDs from Windows Media Player, but not from itunes.  I always get Error 2131.  How do I transfer music files from itunes to Window Media Player Library?...or convince itunes to burn a CD?

    Cannot burn CD from itunes.

The thing is, they are in the unprotected format? (
They are protected WMA from when you RIP'd them with WMP. iTunes will not read them.
Go to WMP Tools -> Rip Music.
Under Rip settings, it is set to *Windows Media Audio* and most likely *Copy protect music* is ticked. This is how it is protected.
You will need to reRIP them all from CD.

  • Computer freezes when trying to burn cds with itunes

I don't know if this would help other people with issues related to burning cds with itunes but here it goes:
My computer running Windows XP SP2 and itunes 7.6.1.9 suddently stopped burning cds via itunes about a couple of versions ago. Burning would start correctly, however the operation never completed successfully, in fact, the computer would completly freeze before getting too far. The computer had to be hard booted, meaning I had to hold the power button to kill it. The only solution that I've come up with that effectively corrects this problem is as follows:
    Close itunes
Go to Start > Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Services
Look for IMAPI CD-Burning COM Service and open it (double-click it):
If not started, start it by clicking the Start button
    Select Startup Type as Automatic
Go to Recovery tab and set first, second and subsequent failures to Restart the Service
Click Apply and then Ok to close window
Look for iPod Service and open it:
If not started, start it by clicking the Start button
    Select Startup Type as Automatic
Click Apply and then Ok to close window
Restart itunes, try burning a cd from a playlist in itunes. There is no guarantee that this will solve your issue, but it is worth a shot, it has worked for me so far.
