Burning Disc Error 0x8002006E

Continually getting this error when burning a disk on my iMac. What's going on ?
Burning using Finder.

Hello,
Make sure you are using CD-R, not CD+R. Also, try a different media. Verbatim, Maxell, Sony...
Also, make sure you have sufficient hard disk space to do this. Right click your MacintoshHD icon, then click: Get Info In the Get Info window click General. Make certain you have a minimum of 15% available drive space.
Also, try deleting this file: com.apple.finder.plist /Users/YourName/Library/Preferences. Drag that file from your Preferences folder to the Trash, empty the Trash and reboot.
Also, run Disk Utility and Repair Disk Permissions. Launch Disk Utility) Applications/Utilities Select MacintoshHD in the panel on the left, select FirstAid and click Repair Disk Permissions. Quit Disk Utility when it's finished and reboot.

  • Cannot Burn Discs / Error 4450

My iTunes will not burn my selected playlist. I insert a disc, it initializes, begins writing my songs however stops and ejects the disk. An error message pops up,
"attempt to burn disc failed. unknown error occurred 4450"
Once this happens to the disc, the disc is no longer considered blank even though the attempt was cancelled per the computer. I am wasting discs and very frustrated since I was told itunes is very user-friendly. Please help.
Here are the details about my computer:
    Pavilion HP Slimline s7500y PC
Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition 2002
    iTunes 7.0.2.16
Intel R Celerom RM Processor 1.70 GHz, .99 GB of RAM
I need very specific instructions. I am not a technology savvy person; minimal knowledge of computers. Thanks.

I am having the same problem! I have tried everything that has been suggested and nothing has worked. I've downloaded the new version of iTunes, checked for updates on my drivers, reducted the speed and the playback gap, and nothing is working. The CD burns to about the 3rd song, then gives the error message and now that CD is no longer read as empty (I can no longer use it have been forced to throw many away). I'm wasting CDs here! Any help would be greatly appereciated.

  • Encoding/Burn disc error

I have a handful of classic movies that I would like to backup. After the decoding from Handbrake, I get an m4v file of 1.76 GB. When I bring it into iDVD, the total is 7.64, 176 min.
The DVD type is set up for DL (7.7). I use Verbatim 8.5 GB.
Encoding is High Quality. Aspect Ratio is 4:3. Original is 16.9.
To keep the file smaller, I use an early non-animated theme.
The DVD burner is a Mac/iDVD compatible that I have used for awhile.
At the end of the encoding session, I keep getting encoding and burn disk errors.
I also tried to use a converted QT and cut segments to make a smaller file, but I lose the sound sync.
There are no red flags in the project info window.
IDVD 7.0.4, 50 GB to spare.
    What am I doing wrong?

  • Burn Disc Error Code 0x8020063

I've been trying to burn photo files onto a disc for the past 4 days. Initially I was attempting to burn raw photos to a disc and ended up converting the images to JPEG. I've tried using Finder, iPhoto and Apeture and all three programs give me the same error message "This disc could not be verified and might be unrediable. Try again using a new, blank disc. (Error Code 0x80020063)" - I've gone through 8 or 9 blanks discs so far on two separate computers. Any suggestions

Have you tried a different brand of discs? Have you tried cleaning the drive's lens?

  • Burning Disc Error 4251

I'm attempting to burn an audio cd, but as soon as it appears to burn the first song, the cd is spit out and I get the error 4251. This is so frustrating because I have no idea what the error message means. Any ideas?
Windows XP   Burning an audio CD

After several failed attempts at solving my burning issues with Apple support (who had no idea what to do) I have found something out. The new "Protected AAC" formatted songs will cause a "failed burn" error message. I own 2 different computers and have tried 2 different types of CD-Rs. I have found that Windows Media Player will burn just fine, and that in iTunes I can burn all my old music (under "kind" look for "AAC audio file") just fine also. So I seem to have norrowed it down to Apple's new protected formats called "Protected AAC audio file"
So far this is all I've got. Just don't buy anything else from iTunes for now.
    Anyone else have any ideas

  • Burn disc error 4000 - how can i fix this???

I am trying to burn CD's of music and randomly keep getting this error message - sometimes I can do a CD and then other times I get this message at the end so there is no consistancy in why it is happening....
I see this has been a problem for other people and yet there doesn't seem to be an answer to this???
Please help - I work for a choir and have to produce a lot of music CD's for people and I'm wasting huge amounts of time and money on CD's because of this error.
    Thanks

  • When burning a cd it comes up with an error 0X8002006E

    Please help?

When burning a DVD, I also had the error 0x8002006E.  I found a SOLUTION that is not discussed in this forum. I tried the three different things that are listed in this forum (delete the finder file, reset PRAM, and try different blank DVDs), but those methods did not work.
I had to repair my internal hard drive.  I had to start my computer from my installation disc (version 10.5.4) (I turned on the computer while holding down "C" key with install disc in the drive).  Then, you have to click on Utilities and then Disc Utility (both at top menu bar) and click on your hard drive then click repair disc.  (NOTE: Do NOT reinstall the OS X operating system. You should click Disc Utility and NOT "continue" at the bottom of screen.)  After my computer repaired multiple problems, I restarted my computer from my main hard drive and then I could burn DVDs again.  Please let me know if you have questions.

  • Cd/DVD not burning.  Error Code 0x8002006E when burning DVD's

I have a MacBook Black and am trying to burn cd's and dvd's. I have tried multiple brands of DVD and CD and can get the cd's to burn once in a while with a microboards printable cd. When they don't burn I get either an error saying something about not being able to calibrate laser power, or it goes through like it's burning and shows up on the desktop, but when I go to open the disk, there is nothing on it. DVD's never finish, giving me the error code 0x8002006E. It will also not read any DVDr's on the machine. Stamped DVD's (store bought)are fine, but multiple brands of DVDr will not read. All of the burned DVD's I have are personal movies and music videos that I made on the machine. Anyone have any suggestions? Is my superdrive toast?

You can check in system profile and select disc burning to verify what cd/dvds are readable by your superdrive....Also with that error message you can try removing any extra ram chip installed, with that model powerbook it also has onboard ram built into logic...being a disc reading problem id say its the superdrive itself, you can try cleaning the lens with those cleaning discs you buy from electronic stores..Burn disc whilst running on power adaptor and not battery...
just a few things to try might help you

  • The Attempt to burn disc failed.  The burn failed because of a medium write error.

When trying to burn a CD, I'm getting an error that reads:The Attempt to burn disc failed.  The burn failed because of a medium write error.  I experienced this message before and took my Macbook in to the store and the the genius was stumped but when he tried one of his CD's it burned fine to he concluded that the problem was in the CD's NOT the Macbook or program  HOWEVER, months later, I'm having the same issue using the NEW CD's.  Does anyone have any information about this?

    3 methods to fix this:
The first is to reset pram
at boot up hold four keys down till you hear 3 chimes:
    command(apple)=option+p+r
release keys and it will now reboot.
The second is to reset nvram
at boot up hold four keys down:
    command(apple)+option+o+f
    a black screen will appear
    now type: reset-nvram
    click enter
    now type: reset-all
    click enter
    it will now reboot
The third is to open system preferences.
    go to international
under languages: drag any of the other languages to the top, then drag english back to the top.
make sure "order for sorted lists" is set to english
make sure "word break" is set to english(united states, computer)
    then restart.
I hope this helps you as it certainly did me. :^)
