Do you mean an Audio CD made up of iTunes purchases? Change your import setting in iTunes to MP3 and import the CD into your library: How To Choose Import Settings

Recording level is too low when burning CD from playlist

When burning a CD from playlist, the resulting CD has a lower recording level than in the original recordings. How can I adjust this?

It sounds like you are having a similar problem to the one I was having when I was downloading my cds to itunes. The whole album would download but some of the songs would be on a different thumbnail instead of in the same album. Although the albums had the "artist" listed already it would still go to a separate thumbnail. It took me a while to search and figure it out through trial and error but if you right click on the album and when the tab pops up you go to "get info" and select "yes" you want to "edit information for multiple items" you must input the "album artist" and it will automatically import it into the correct album it originally came from. Some of them you have to input the information manually through the "get info". Hope this helps!!!

Burning CDs from playlist problem

I have tried to burn CDs from my Itunes playlist, but all I am getting is a disc for each song with the MusicMatch logo, track number and a 1KB...I have tried to uninstall MusicMatch to no avail. And even before I got Itunes, I could not access MusicMatch. Is there a conflict between the two causing the problem? As a matter of fact I can't burn anything even using Sonic and Nero. Help!

If I'm guessing correctly, you've successfully burned an Audio CD. Use a program taht reads Audio CDs (iTunes, MusicMatch, Windows Media Player, etc.), and you'll be fine.

Burning disks from MBA using Remote Disk

Several posts have been made related to being able to burn Optical disks from the MBA using the Remote Disc feature.
So far all I've been able to perform using Remote Disc is for reading software Installer discs such as the Apple's Mac OS X DVD Installer disc and $MS Office:mac 2004 Installer disc.
Any attempt to write/burn an optical disc using Remote Disc has been unsuccessful.
What does work (as you would expect to work) is the Toast 8 Titanium's ToastAnywhere feature. Having Toast 8 installed on both Macs it's possible to launch Toast 8 on the MBA and have access to the optical drive on another Mac with Toast 8 installed. I've successfully done this several times for burning optical discs. I used my MBA and my PowerMac G5's SuperDrive.
I assume the reverse will work where the PowerMac G5 could access the MBA's $99 SuperDrive for burning optical discs.

Remote Disk is generally used to share a CD or DVD drive to install things across the network so you don't have to buy a SuperDrive. To get to a shared Windows drive, you have to set up Sharing. Windows uses SMB (Simple Message Block). Search support for documents on sharing with a Windows PC. Many of the Mac 101 and Switching documents discuss this also. If the drive is shared in the Windows on the same subnet (you might have to designate a workgroup on the Mac, don't remember) it will appear in Finder on the Mac.

Itunes freezes when I attempt to burn CD from playlist

When I try to burn a CD from a playlist, all goes well until I click on to the pulsating "Burn Disc" Icon. Then, itunes freezes. I cannot execute any function at that point other than to use Windows Task Manager to shut down itunes. I read the posts in this section and tried the remedy of installing the GEAR installer to remove gearsec.exe and GEARSEC security with GEARsoftware. Contrary to the instructions, the software never asked me if I wanted gearsec.exe removed. That didn't solve the problem. This is a new problem that I did not experience in the past as I have burned several CD's from itunes before. I am now using itunes version 4.9.0.17 with Windows XP (Home Edition) with SP2. I will appreciate any directions that you can give me to correct this problem. Below are the results of my CD Diagnostic Check that I ran through itunes:

If you have multiple drives on the same IDE or SCSI bus, these drives may interfere with each other.

I am using Roxio Easy Media Creator 7. (version 7.1.1.189 to be precise). I have no other CD burning software but I do have an Iomega external hard drive connected USP2. The software that comes with that is Iomega Automatic Backup v3.2.

Burning disk from Intel or PPC, is there a difference when booting?

I have a Intel iMac and a PPC PowerBook G4.
I have an .iso of my OS X Leopard 10.5 DVD (backup copy) that I want to burn using Disk Utility on a DL DVD, then use it to install Leopard on the PowerBook G4.
I already have done a .iso file from the disk.
OS X Leopard 10.5 is Intel and PPC compatible, from the same disk.
Question:
-If I do the process of burning the .iso to a DL DVD from a Intel iMac, will it only boot from an Intel Machine?
-If I burn the .iso from the PowerBook G4 under 10.4, will it boot on the PowerPC?
Burn ISO’s using Disk Utility
Insert a blank disc.
Start Disk Utility (/Applications/Utilities/Disk Utility.app)
From the File menu, choose “Open Disk Image” and select the ISO you want to burn
In the list of volumes, select ISO file.
Click the Burn button and follow the instructions.

The point is not regarding whether I should have a backup of my OS X disk, but rather to understand how boot disk are made with regards to the Intel PowerPC nuance.
This applies also if I wanted a boot disk to run some utilities. I would like to burn it and make sure the disk boot on the correct hardware.
I would like to understand if it matters on which machine (Intel) you burn the disk, if it will be used on the different hardware (PowerPC).

Burning CDs from Playlist causes problem

Whenever I burn a CD from a playlist, I get a Windows error window in my application bar but it really doesn't display and the cursor changes to an hourglass that's spinning. The only way to fix the cursor is to reboot.
Anyone else have this problem? I've had it for the last couple of itunes software iterations including the latest, 7.0.2

Burning discs from playlist

since i updated i tunes yesterday i can't seem to burn discs. normally would create playlist and burn from there. however burn disc button no longer there only the genius icon is! tried searching round toolbar to see if burn option has moved but cannot locate.

it seems that it has something to do with the registry..do you get a warning error message when opening itunes?> "Warning! The registry settings used by the iTunes drivers for importing and burning CDs and DVDs are missing. This can happen as a result of installing other CD burning software. Please reinstall iTunes." if that is the problem follow these instructions here> http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3299 >from 1 thru 14.< just leave itunes installed and follow thru, make sure when you go to question 11 and 12 drop them down and follow until you reach 14 to restart. well if thats the case..

Error Message when trying to burn CD from Playlist

Never had this problem before, but when I try to burn a playlist, I get the error message "there is a file whose file is bigger than that of a blank CD. You need to insert a blank DVD." Can anyone tell me what I am doing wrong. Thanks in advance for your help

Thanks for your reply, but that was not the case. I closed out Itunes and and reopened it and the exact same playlist burned with no problem. So it could not have been a file was too large. Again thanks

Burning songs from iPhone?

so, i lost my a few of my purchased itunes songs when my computer crashed and didn't have a back up. but, i do have the songs on my iPhone. Is there a way to burn directly from there?

Burning refers to making a CD or DVD, you can't burn these from an iPhone or iPod, you can only burn disks from a playlist in iTunes. if you want to copy purchases from the phone, the transfer of purchased content only from the iPod to authorised computers was introduced with iTunes 7. I'm not 100% sure but I think you create your play order manually then select the playlist, right click it (or use ctrl+click) & select "Copy to play order".
I think when you burn that playlist it should obey that order, it has been so long since I made a mix CD that I'm not certain, good luck.

Cannot delete files from hard disk (after deleting from playlists)!

all of a sudden itunes stopped allowing me to automatically delete (with the warning) a downloaded podcast so I would have to go to the hard disk manually to delte the posdcast.
How do I get the system back to what it was where I delete a podcast and then get the warning and say ok to delete from hard disk?

I founf the problem--somehow my itunes folder was moved to a different part of my hard drive--once I moved it back I can delete.
I can delete as follows: when I right click and click on delete, I first delete the file from itunes library--then I get prompted if I want to delete from my hard disk by sending file to recycle bin--There is also a prompt if I do not want to see the warning--which I have on as a safety precaution. So I bet the default could remove from playlist and send file to recycle bin in one move.

Create a play list that you wish to burn. Select playlist, the file from main menu which gives to an option to burn the playlist. A pop up box appears allowing you to select burn speed and disc format.
