Burning download of Windows 7 64 bit to disk

I've downloaded Windows 7 64 bit to my computer, but when I try to burn it to a disk it says I need a bigger disk...what size disk should I have??

Download the appropriate Windows 7 .ISO file which includes Service Pack 1

1) After downloading the correct .iso file install HashCalc and validate the SHA1 hash value
is correct. If the download is not corrupt, the value HashCalc returns will match the SHA1 value I posted.

Hi Nogot7, you will have to share 3100 over your network.
    On the XP computer .....
    Open Printers and Faxes.
Right-click the printer you want to share, and then click Sharing.
On the Sharing tab, click Share this printer and then type a share name for the shared printer.
On the Win 7 computer ....
    Go to Devices and Printers
    Add a printer
    Add a local printer
    Select Create a new port:
Select Local Port for the Type of port:
Enter the network name of the XP computer ie. \\XPcomputername\share name

  • ITunes 10.5 won't download on windows 7 64 bit

Hi all, I keep trying to download iTunes 10.5 on windows 7 64 bit. Every time I do it gets started and then stops at "publishing product information" then it times out and gives me a long error code that ends with hresult 0x800736fd. I've tried removing all apple applications from my computer but nothing works. Open to any advice at this point. Thanks.

Well that at least is a reasonable workaround. There are no major differences between the two versions other than going full 64-bit and tidying up Get Info a bit.
    tt2
It was, for a day.  Then I needed to spend an evening trying to fix it
But ... I think I have it working.  Via the less than reasonable method of uninstalling all Apple software from the PC (again) then nuking directories from orbit before reinstalling.
For anyone following/finding this thread, I did so being sure to follow the order at Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates and uninstalling "Apple Application Support (64-bit)" before "Apple Application Support (32-bit)" then uninstalling QuickTime (again) for good measure.
I then deleted the following directories:
    C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple
    C:\Program Files\iTunes
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple
    C:\ProgramData\Apple
    C:\ProgramData\Apple Computer
    C:\Users\<USERNAME>\AppData\Local\Apple
    C:\Users\<USERNAME>\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer
    E:\Users\<USERNAME>\AppData\Local\Apple
    E:\Users\<USERNAME>\AppData\Local\Apple Computer
    E:\Users\<USERNAME>\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer
    and now it seems okay.
I've not yet reinstalled iCloud Control Panel or QuickTime, though.  And I'm fairly annoyed with Apple for lack of quality here, this is a point upgrade for goodness sake, and it's not like they couldn't afford QA.
    Thanks for the help, tt2.

  • Can Garageband be downloaded for Windows 7 64-bit?

I am just wondering if I can download the program Garageband for my windows 7 64-bit computer

There are many more options in the PC world for a loop-based music program. All of them will involve $$.
Try Acid Loops at http://www.sonycreativesoftware.com/musicstudio for $50 it's probably the best entry level program.
Or try Fruity Loops - they have a demo also.
Anyway, GarageBand is Apple's 'me-too' music program, just to prove that they can make music for the masses. My main music software is Logic (also Mac only.)

  • Probleme mit dem Premiere Pro CC Download wg, Windows 7 32 bit?

    Hallo zusammen,
ich versuche gerade, Premiere Pro CC auf meinem Laptop zu installieren und bekomme als Angebot alle möglichen Apps, nur nicht diese. Kann der Grund meine Windows 7 32 bit Version sein?
    Danke im Voraus
    Susanne Herdyanto

Can I downgrade the CS InDesign portion of the 5.5 Design Premiere I purchased on disk to a version that will support a Windows 7 32 bit (64 bit capable) computer?

  • Windows 7 64 bit recovery disk

    Hello,
I bought ThinkPad T510 with 3 Gb of RAM and Windows 7 32 bit Professinal Russian (I'm from Russia).
I'm going to upgrade RAM in my laptop, but I need to change OS from 32 bit to 64 bit. I know that it is legally possible - the license allows to use 32 or 64 bit variant of same version of the OS. Also I found instructions how to make this possible - contact with Lenovo's support.
The only way for me (customer from Russia) is to contact by phone. I talked to support person, ask for recovery disk of Windows 7 Professional 64 bit Russian, but I was told that this is not available in Russia. Period. The only way is manually install Windows 7 Professioanl 64 bit Russian from Microsoft's installation media and use my license number for activation.
But what about the whole bunch of dirvers and other software like ThinkVantage? OK. I can download all these software and install it by hand, but what about recovery and restore, what if I will need to reinstall the whole system from scratch?
Lenovo's recovery disks is the fast and simple way to get working system. Because of that I'm looking for oppurtunity to get recovery disk.
Is there other way to obtain recovery disk? Maybe I can purchase it internationally directly from Lenovo? Or may be it is possible to obtain recovery disk electronically (ISO image should be fine for burn my own copy)?
Can any body help with it? At least by suggesting of recommendation?

You don't actually need Rescue and Recovery.
Window 7 have build in backup and restore capaibility and just as good. Complete a fresh window 7 64 bit installation, load the minimum thinkvantage software you need, install your own personal software and then do a system backup to an external disk or DVD discs.

  • Problem installing Windows 7 64-bit on late 2013 iMac 27"

Is Windows 7 64-bit compatible with this computer?
    Hardware and software:
    • Late 2013 iMac 27", 3.5 GHz I7, 16 GB memory, 1 TB hard drive (no fusion drive)
    • Mac OS 10.9.1
    • USB thumb drive
    • Boot Camp Assistant 5.1.0
    • Windows 7 64-bit install disk iso image downloaded from Microsoft
    Install steps:
    1. Use Boot Camp Assistant to install Windows 7 install (from iso image) and Apple Support Software (creates WININSTALL USB drive)
    2. Use Boot Camp Assistant to create 50 GB Windows partition on iMac internal drive and start Windows install
    3. Complete initial install steps until given option to select install partition
    4. Select 50 GB partition. Error message that partition is not formatted correctly. Use Advance Options to format (presumably to NTFS)
    5. Select 50 GB partition again and click "Next"
    6. Get error message "Setup was unable to create a new system partition or locate an existing system partition. See the Setup log files for more information."
    7. Install quits at this point
I have successfully installed Win 7 on another computer (2010 Mac Pro) using these steps. I also tried installation on the iMac using an iso image created from my original Win 7 64-bit install disk, with the same installation error as above.
I'm wondering if Windows 7 and/or Boot Camp is compatible with this iMac. Any suggestions will be appreciated.

I am awaiting delivery on the exact model you have and have been researching how much trouble it will be to put 64 bit windows 7 ultimate on my machine when it gets here. I'm not pleased at what I've been reading so far. I have not seen the two other posts but yours is enough to concern me.
Have you also seen that 10.9.1 update may be responsible for this? I've seen where 10.9 caused some problems with the bootcamp app but then the process was completely hosed with the 10.9.1 update. Are you seeing this as well?
Being a life-long mac dude, it pains me when their stuff just doesn't work because it usually just does. ****, that's why I started on a mac in the first place.
The support site says that they come with 90 days of complimentary support. Is this not an issue they should be responsible for addressing via support? Or is that just one long wait on hold waiting to talk to somebody that won't consider this a pure apple issue?
I was also curious if your install .iso contains both 32 and 64 bit versions?

  • Some Solutions, 1 remaining prob with MBP, Windows 7 64-bit, Bootcamp

It has taken me about 3 months to get Windows 7 64-bit (OEM disk purchased from TigerDirect) to work on my MacBook PRO 17" 2.4GHz, and it is still not quite there.
FIRST: It seemed impossible to load. I put the disk in the drive, held Option key down, selected Windows (from the DVD), and was presented with a black screen with white writing that said: 1. 2. Select Boot Type. That would be it. No response from the keyboard or even a USB keyboard. I read about an incompatibility with EFI naming conventions between Apple and Microsoft. Something about naming conventions. The solution is elsewhere in these discussions and involves re-creating the Windows install DVD with an EFI naming convention that apple likes. That worked, and the re-burned Windows disk booted! Hurrah?? No.
NEXT: The installation process started - all the correct Windows screens popped up, but it was incredibly slow. In fact, the installation process took 24 hours (YES!) to complete. Once it was done, I rebooted. The flying orbs started. I was excited! But instead of a login screen, I was presented with a black screen and a movable white mouse cursor, and that was it. I left it on this screen for 24 hours, with no change whatsoever. No sound. No response to CTL-ALT-DELETE. No response to holding the shift key down or pressing it 5 times - all things recommended by some folks who were able to pull up taskmgr this way and launch Explorer. For me, this was not possible. Nothing worked.
NEXT: I thought I'd check to see if Windows 7 64-bit really installed on the bootcamp partition. I did this by firing up Parallels 5 and pointing it at the bootcamp partition, where it found Windows and cheerfully offered to boot it for me. It worked, but this is not what I wanted. Still, it was enough to prove to me that the install was complete, valid, and bootable.
Months passed with trying various things.
Finally, I read about something involving memory. I fired up parallels, went to a dos prompt in my Windows 7 install thanks to Parallels access to it, and typed MSCONFIG. There's a boot tab there, and when you click on Advanced, you'll see a Maximum Memory box. Type a number in here like 2000 or 3000 (I have 8GB RAM installed, so I typed in 4000) and applied the change, then shut down windows in Parallells. Then, I restarted my mac and booted into Windows. Guess what??!? It BOOTED!! Now, all memory tests tell me that all 8GB of my RAM are fine. I swapped the two DIMMS and no change, so one DIMM is not bad. My EFI is 64-bit capable. My Windows version is 64-bit. So, when I right click on My Computer, select Properties, and read the screen it says: MEMORY: 8GB installed, 2.97GB usable. Now, I understand that some of the 4GB is used up by devices so I get this 2.97 number, but what gives??
So this is where I need some brilliant guy's help: What's the deal with the RAM? If I type a number above 4000 in the box in Windows, I can go up to about 4080 but after that, the number won't stick (goes to 2 or 3 or something crazy). Again - EVERYTHING is 64-bit: The EFI, the Windows 7 install, and my MBP is one of the supported ones. So what on earth could be the problem?
(Oh, and yes, I loaded the Bootcamp 2.2 drivers from my Snow Leopard DVD, then loaded the Bootcamp 3.1 updates and drivers, yes my Magic Mouse works, yes the screen is perfect, yes I do have sound, yes Windows Properties says it's Windows 7 64-bit, but I do have the heat problem mentioned elsewhere in these forums.)
Your thoughts would be very appreciated!

I'm looking into running Windows 7 64bit on the exact same MBP you have, so I'm curious as to whether or not you've found a solution yet outside of the forums.
Do you think it might be that the bootcamp 3.1 update is only for Windows 7 32bit and not for the 64bit version?

  • Ei.cfg not being seen by windows installer on Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit retail disk.

My problem is that the retail disk of Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit has no ei.cfg restrictions. Instead of choosing the correct operating system ID, on install, the .cfg
is coming from some where else installing a custom version of windows that is a different version of windows than on the retail install disk that I have a software key to. Even though it recognizes the key as windows 7 the operating system no longer recognizes
the retail disk it was installed from as the same version of operating system. It seems that there is a pre operating system install to a volume that cant see the ei.cfg file on the windows retail disk. It is something like Windows ME or MCE and it is hard
to get past because it acts  like the operating system after install. It looks like there is a complete install of windows 7 but it is only a version of ME or MCE in the 100MB range installed to a partition volume. I am given a User account Profile within
Application Data folder  in the system. The actual windows system in its entirety does not exist in the partial virtual operating systems. All the installs are to Partition Volumes on the Partition of a GPT Server Partition on a Disk

The above information was taken after an install from the Microsoft Windows 7 64 bit retail disk purchased at Fry's and installed to my Asus G75VX. It is a Network Managed Client Server configuration that installs from the retail disk.

I have been dealing with this problem since the day I purchased the first notebook from Best Buy configured this way and it was not even an Asus. It was a Samsung Chronos i7. The Asus G75VX I have now is the third notebook in a row purchased from Best Buy
with the configuration right out of the un open retail box. None out of the three came with windows 7 installed. They had windows 8 64bit installed with the configuration. I purchased Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit attempting to get around the configuration
    problem.
My main concern is that I use computers to do my legal documents in court cases in the United States Federal Courts and I am a pro se litigator and I have been litigating a civil action since 2011 that is still open in the federal court. I am also legally
disable and covered by Federal Communications Act FCC Rule 255. This configuration has Telephone software and equipment, Management Software and equipment, and Networking software and equipment all covered within FCC Rule 255. My notebook is unusable for litigation
or personal use as a Publicly Managed Network Client Server. I paid $1350.00 of my Social Security Disability income for the Asus G75VX and another $216.00 for Windows 7 Home Premium 32 and 64 bit DVD and that is not counting a list of other things to
now have a personal notebook computer I have to sat down beside me in public libraries, Colleges etc. to use their computers to do my legal work. It is illegal and total wrong and it is a violation of the Bill of Rights First and Fourth Amendments and Title
VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and the American with Disability Act outside of 255.
