Burning iTunes Library onto generic MP3 Player....How?

Not being able to afford the iPod 2nd Generation Nano, I purchased a 1st generation look-a-like MP3 player for my daughter. We purchase music and burn CDs using iTunes, however, I cannot figure out how to transfer the files to the MP3 player. Since it is not an authentic "iPOD" the Sync selection is not available. I have purchased tons of music through iTunes and feel I should be able to play it on any MP3 player I choose. Is there a way to do this? Please help!!!!

If the tracks you purchased are DRM-protected, then they are unusable on any non-Apple product (except for certain iTunes-enabled mobile phones).
+We purchase music and *burn CDs* using iTunes, however, I cannot figure out how to transfer the files to the MP3 player.+
Is it, ahem, possible to get songs from an *audio CD* to the player?
For future reference, since you plan to use your songs on both Apple and non-Apple products, please restrict your purchases to non-DRM tracks. That means either iTunes Plus, or MP3s from online stores such as amazon.com.

  • How do I burn iTunes library onto DVD-RW? I'm a schmuck.

Tab: Advanced/Burn only says data - CD; Why can't I burn it as a Audio DVD. I checked help. I got Itunes 6, Sonic ain't working. Neither is Windows Media player. I don't get it. I created playlist, went back to main library, selected all, then back to playlist, and pasted, then burn; I don't know, I'm a schmuck. Nothing can work for me. Like I'm a 3 year old, step 1, 2, 3, how do I do this please? Ask me whatever ya want regarding this, to ensure this can even be done, but please, someone kindly help me? I'm using a (period) > "Staples" DVD-RW, says up to 4x, what am I doing wrong or am I that much of a *******? My email is [email protected] Thank you in advance. My iTunes library is: (367) songs, and 1.53GB. Take care.

Currently, you can not burn purchased videos to a "Playable" DVD. You CAN burn them to a Data DVD for backup, but there not playable.
If you look at the "Terms of service" agreement, it states in section 9 under Usage rules.....
"You shall be entitled to export, burn (if applicable) or copy Products solely for personal, noncommercial use. You shall not be entitled to burn Video Products."
    http://www.apple.com/legal/itunes/us/service.html
I know, this does suck, I myself wish I could burn the videos I buy to a DVD to play on the TV. Its just currently Hollywood wants there content very well protected, and currently theres no way to burn it to a DVD and have its protection carry over onto the burned DVD.

  • How do I copy some music from my itunes library to a MP3 player?

I have a Sandisk clip sport MP3 player and would like to download files from my iTunes library.  Do I have to use the sync?  If so, how do I enable sync on my Mac?

Drag the songs from the iTunes library or iTunes Music folder to the device in the Finder. If it doesn't show up there or that doesn't work, check the device's documentation.

  • How can I listen to songs I purchased on Itunes with my generic Mp3 player?

I was given $50 Itunes credit for Christmas and promptly bought an album from itunes. I actually could have bought the album as a real CD at the local store but thought I'd use my itunes voucher instead.
Now I find that I can not just copy and paste the songs or convert the songs into mp3 format so that I can play the songs in my portable mp3 player.
I don't want to buy an ipod as am very happy with the player I have.
So the albun is stuck on my laptop.
Any advice or solution would be appreciated please.

I'm curious...If it's a record company restriction, then why is it that Amazon can sell them in unrestricted MP3 format, as you say.
It is up to each retailer to reach agreements with their suppliers. Different agreements may be reached.
I haven't checked out Amazon yet so maybe they have different music for sale, not from the major record companies?
The amazon.com MP3 Download Store carries all 4 major labels. (The fourth, Sony, was added in January 2008.) However, it is not available in Australia.

  • Putting itunes songs onto a mp3 player that isn't and ipod

Hi, I have no idea how to change the format of the songs i've downloaded in itunes so i can put them on my phone. My phones only accepts mp3, aac, m3u and mp4 files and isn't recognising the itunes files. Any ideas i would really appreciate...

Purchases from the iTunes music store have .m4p file extensions. So if your phone says it can accept those, they should work.
There is a forum especially for iTunes-enable phones,
    http://discussions.apple.com/forum.jspa?forumID=794
You might have better luck over there. But I don't see any messages about Nokia phones - it's all Motorola-type phones like RAZR, SLVR, etc.

  • How do i burn my itunes library onto a cd so that it can be played in a car

I want to burn some of the songs within my itunes library onto a cd to give to my Aunt. I tried this once already and the songs would play on radio but only from one speaker. How do I burn my playlists onto cd and have it play correctly? (out of both speakers)

You can burn a cd for personal use, by making a playlist, then go to File>Burn Playlist
    Choose Audio Cd.
Distributing music to others is not legal.  You can burn cds for personal use.

  • How do I get music in my iTunes library onto my husband's MP3??

How do I get music in my iTunes library onto my husband's MP3???

If it's an iPod, just sync it to your iTunes, then you should be able to go to the music tab in the iPod's menu, and choose what you want to sync.
If not, I'm sorry, I do not know. I hope this helps!

  • How to I copy my iTunes library onto an SD card in the same format such as artists, albums playlists etc on a Mac?

    HHi,
i am trying to copy my iTunes library onto an SD card so that I can put it in my Audi A4 with the MMI. Is there any way of doing the transfer on iTunes but keeping the structure of iTunes, such as with albums, artists, playlists etc?
    THanks in advane
    Tom

Files are not copied to drives in a particular order. How they appear on a card depends upon how you have your computer set to display them. If I view a card with files and I have clicked the column header for "file modified date" then it will display in that order. The only time the copying of the files across to a flash drive will influence how your music appears in your player is if the player uses the file names to display the file order, with possibly some extra structure added using folders.  If it reads the data inside the files then it will display them pretty much as iTunes would use them and how exactly they are displayed will depend upon how the player actually works.  The other way (as I have already said) is if the player uses a special file to tell it how it should order the files on the display. When I last rented a new car it simple read the data inside the files as iTunes does and if a humble Ford Focus can do that then I suspect that is how Audi does it.  If it is not doing this then maybe your files do not contain the data, or your simply have not read the special manual for the MMI that I see on Audi's website it provides to its owners and discovered how to set the view order.
Since nobody has seen to it I have been bestowed with an Audi you may have to wait for another Audi owner to answer this, or perhaps do some investigating yourself.  If you type "Audi MMI A4" into a web search it will lead you to a bunch of videos on Audi's web site on how to use the MMI. My computer is old and my connection speed is slow so I absolutely hate instructional videos online and I will let you plow through them to see if any provide the information you need.
My understanding from Phil0124 statement is it is simply telling you to copy all the files in the Media folder to the card.
When I cut and paste the iTunes library onto my SD card, it put all of songs in a strange order. It had all of some number 1 from all the albums, then song 2, etc. It didn't keep them in album / artist setup. For some reason it won't copy over in the same structure.
Is this how you are seeing it when viewed on your computer, or is this how you are seeing it in the MMI?  If that is how you are seeing it on the computer, forget it, or do as Phil01234 says and drag across folders from the main Media folder in the iTunes folder.
By the way, on a Mac to copy files from one drive to another you simply drag them, no copy and paste.

  • How can I upload my Itunes library to Windows Media Player?

    Hello,
    Please can someone help me.
I want to keep my Windows Media Player library in sync with my Itunes library.
Does anyone know how to do this?

In WMP, go to Library > Add to Library, and make sure it is watching any folder where you have music, such as My Music. Then, as you add songs to your iTunes library manually, WMP will add them automatically to its library. (The opposite will not work, since iTunes does not have the ability to automatically watch folders.)
Since you will be using both players, I strongly suggest you use music only in MP3 format. Also, you must absolutely avoid purchasing any tracks with DRM, since there is no DRM scheme that both players can handle.

  • How can I get Itunes songs to my mp3 player (Sony Sonic Stage)?

I've browsed through the forums and it seems a lot of people want to export Sonic Stage files to Itunes!
I want the opposite. I just bought 100 songs from Itunes and can't get the m4a format changed in the Itunes advanced setting and I can't import the songs into my mp3 player (Sony Sonic Stage) because the files don't appear as part of my folder when searching (even though I'm looking for "all files").
I tried the Windows explorer to drag and drop from the Itunes folder to my mp3 player (it is flash based but loaded through the software SonicStage)and it didn't work.
I REALLY don't want to burn all of the new tracks to a CD to try to transfer them all back onto my mp3 player. Am I missing something really simple or is this a compatability flaw? I won't buy any more songs if it's the case but your assistance is GREATLY appreciated

  • How do I get my iTunes library onto my new computer when my old computer died?

How can I upload my iTunes library onto my new computer from my iPod or iPad? our old computer died and now I cannot move my iTundes library from my iPod or iPhone onto the new iTunes. Anyone have a workaround for this?

It depends on what you mean by "died".
If the old computer is a Mac, you can try starting it up in "Target Disk Mode" - it doesn't attempt to start up like a computer, it pretends to be an external hard drive so it might work even if your old computer still has power (even if it's otherwise unusable). You then use a firewire cable (or or firewire to thunderbolt adapter) to plug the old computer into the new one, and can copy the music off the old hard drive.
OS X Mountain Lion: Transfer files between two computers using target disk mode
Or, if you're handy with a screwdriver, open up the old computer and take the old hard drive out. How easy that is depends on what model computer it is. You can then pop the hard drive into an "external enclosure" (about $20 from any computer parts store), plug that into your new computer's USB port and copy away - and you even get to keep using the old hard drive as an external hard drive. But that's assuming it really is the computer that "died" and not the hard drive itself.
Finally, if it's the hard drive in the old computer that died, but the computer itself is still good, you can try using a utility like DiskWarrior or TechTools Pro to try to recover the old hard drive, then use one of the above methods.
if you want to copy the music directly from you ipod, you can try these instructions - How to transfer music from an iPod to your computer | How To - CNET

  • I have created separate user accounts for my 2 boys on my macbook. How do i get my itunes library onto their new ipods?

I have created separate user accounts for my 2 boys on my macbook. How do i get my itunes library onto their new ipods?

They can't.  Which came first - the chicken or the egg?  Actually, that's a bad comparison but a sync must come first.
The library is actually part of iTunes and it contains everything.  iTunes is then configured so that you (or they) determine which portion of everything will be synced to each iPod (identified by a unique name, see below for an example of an iPod and an iPad).  iTunes can't make that decision until AFTER it knows which iPods exist.
By the way, I (you, they) can very easily change the name of each device to whatever I (you, they) wish to call it.
