Burning MP3 on external burner

Using a Lacie external with toast lite. Had it set for MP3 and it seemed to burn the whole playlist but when I played it in my stereo it just played the same song over and over - don't know if it's looping or what -can't manually get it to go to next song unless the next song happens to be the same one burned over and over.

  • MP3+ USB External Card doesn't work when plugged into USB

    My MP3+ USB external sound card doenst' work whenever I plug it into my usb hub.
    Model: sb0270
    First I tried a powered D-link 7 port usb 2.0 hub. (model DUB-H7, H/W ver: 2) although the model number doens't tell you much is has the same model number as a USB/Firewire hub with 3/4 ports.
    The sound card is recognized as a "composite" device. But no sound goes "through" it (light doesn't flash).
    I'm now using a Belkin 7 port usb 2.0 hub, model f5u237 rev. 3.
    When I plug the soundcard into my computer it stops the laptop speakers, and then my sound system starts playing. When I unplug it my sound system stops, and then my laptopspears start playing. When I plug it into the USB hub the sound on my laptop speakers stops, windows finds a USB composite device, then the sound starts playing on my laptop speakers again.
    I've tried this on 2 computers a HP ZV600 and a HP dv5040us.
    dv5040us specs: http://h0025.www.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/genericDocument?cc=us&docname=c00584686&lc=en&jump id=reg_R002_USEN
    This is the only USB device I have that is not functioning correctly. (2 HDDs, keyboard, mouse, printer, mp3 player, controller, and joystick)
    Even if those arn't plugged it it still doens't work.

    I tried with another USB flash card and with a smaller file.
    The transferring from Mac to the card starts but is extremely slow ( around 0,5MB/sec)

  • Playing an mp3 from external source

    Hi
    I have read the clues I could find on external files,
    streaming, etc,,,
    I have some mp3s on the hard drive and a flash drive.
    I have them in a list within my movie (via BuddyAPI). My
    lingo points to them directly.
    I can't get them to play just by referencing them.
    They will play by baOpenFile() in Windows Media.
    Help?!
    Thanks

    Your path looks wrong - why do you have a double backslash in
    there? It
    should be "C:\mp3s\NatKingCole.mp3" (assuming such a file
    exists)

  • MP3 Ios External or Internal?

    I have a Flash movie that plays MP3 files on a button click using this:
    function btnClick2(event:MouseEvent):void {
    //SoundMixer.stopAll();
    var mySound:Sound = new Sound();
    mySound.load(new URLRequest("MP3s/name.mp3"));
    mySound.play();
    It works fine in publish preview, and it will work once published to the IPhone but it seems intermittant. It will not always play for each click. Sometimes double press. Just strange results.
    Am I better for IOs actually playing it from the local library (some how)?
    Or is there a better way to get this to work?
    Thanks for your help!

    Hi - This should show the library files. Underneath the screen grab I have put the original code modified and working with mouse down. This is already a lot more reactive in IOs, so your new way we are looking at will just be a bonus
    This works fine and now using MOUSE_DOWN is a lot better in IOS:
    function btnClick2(event:MouseEvent):void {
    var C:Class=Class(getDefinitionByName(event.currentTarget.name+"_mp3"));
    var c:Sound = new C();
    c.play();
    PlayAMajor.addEventListener(MouseEvent.MOUSE_DOWN, btnClick2);
    PlayBMajor.addEventListener(MouseEvent.MOUSE_DOWN, btnClick2);
    New way that causes the error:
    var C:Class;
    var e:Class;
    var buttonA:Array = [AString,BString];
    for(var i:int=0;i<buttonA.length;i++){
    C = Class(getDefinitionByName(buttonA[i].name+"_mp3"));
    this["sound_"+buttonA[i].name]=new C();
    function btnClick2(event:MouseEvent):void {
    this["sound_"+e.currentTarget.name].play();
    AString.addEventListener(MouseEvent.MOUSE_DOWN, btnClick2);
    BString.addEventListener(MouseEvent.MOUSE_DOWN, btnClick2);

  • 5.1 mp3 to external surround sound receiver with do

    I have a not so new aiwa receiver with dolby surround 5.. A few years ago I had it hooked up to my soundblaster 5. mp3 and it worked well.
    On the back under 5. input it has RCA connections for center, subwoofer,front and surround. I am using Bose accoustimass 7 speakers. Which consist of a left right and center speaker with a passi've sub woofer. I have 3 wires with RCA (2 red and white)plugs on one end of each wire and PC audio plugs in the other. When I plug the PC plug into the digital on the card and RCA into center and subwoofer and go to test. I hear a voice say center speaker. (the sound is coming out of the left front speaker) and I hear a voice saying front right (coming out of the center speaker.) and no voice saying front left. I have tried every configuration possible ( I think) and no left front. Even if I change the speaker configuration to video one with 2 speakers or video 2 with 4 speakers and on and on and on.(of course I change the RCA plugs to what channel I am trying) No left front. I have gone to CD and aux for the tv or video or DVD and the left speaker works fine. Just not when hooked up to my sound card. What's the deal? Can the left on the card be blown? MY receiver does not have a digital plug on the back

    yup. Yours is just a 4 channel sound card, for Front Left, Front Right, Rear Left and Rear Right speakers. It is seperated with two jacks.
    A 6 channel (5.) sound card has a third jack for the center speaker and subwoofer. So if you continue to use your Value card, you will only hear sounds from the Front and Rear, nothing from center and subwoofer.
    Its time for an upgrade I say, and since you are getting such a powerful set of speakers, seriously consider an Audigy 2 ZS. A THX-Certified Speakers should go with THX-Certified Sound Card

  • How can I backup my IPod Classic to a CD/DVD or MP3 or external hard drive or PC?

    I have lots on my IPod from various places, including songs I converted from vynal records and from cassettes.  I don't have anywhere else but my Ipod.  If my Ipod goes, I lose these memories and important items forever.  Can someone help.  Is a backup even something that can be done?
    Thank you

    On the iPod, create an On-The-Go Playlist.
    Navigate to the first Playlist you want to use; press-and-hold the Select (centre) button until the Playlist name flashes. This puts that playlist into the On-The-Go Playlist, which is located at the bottom of the Playlist menu.
    Now navigate to the second Playlist you want; press-and-hold the Select button until the Playlist name flashes. This has added the second Playlist to the On-The-Go Playlist.
    Repeat for each Playlist you want to add.
    Once you have added all the Playlists you want, scroll down to the end of the Playlist to On-The-Go list. If you go into the On-The-Go list, you will see all the songs form your other Playlists, in Playlist order. Simply scroll to the first song and press the Select or Play to start the first song playing.

  • Apartment Bookshelf Stereo Solution with Creative mp3 Pla

    I'm looking for a recommendation for an at-home speaker setup for the Creative mp3 players.
    We li've in a small apartment with a small living room, so we do not need that much power. We just want to have a convenient way to play our mp3s and listen to the radio.
    The ideal setup would be a small unit of speakers (or separate speakers) with a drop-in dock for the mp3 player. A remote could be used to adjust volume, go to the next track, or turn power on and off. FM radio reception would also be nice. It MUST provide power to the mp3 player so the mp3 player is not running on batteries. I've seen all kinds of products that do this with iPods, but we already have (and enjoy) our Creative products.
    Of course I can just connect one of our mp3 players to a bookshelf stereo. This is not a terrible solution as long as I have the A/C power cord close by. No remote and no easy dock, but it works... I already do this in our bedroom using the little bookshelf stereo we have.
    The big downside to this is that I have read in the manual for some Creative mp3 players that you shouldn't leave them plugged in an charging all the time. That's a bit of a problem if we want to leave it connected to the stereo most of the time, and don't want to worry about having to recharge it.
    We have older mp3 players like the Jukebox 3 and the Zen Xtra. I've seen the portable docking device for the Zen Micro, but no way do we want an mp3 player with such a tiny hard dri've. We need at least 20GB.
    How about connecting a Zen Vision M, or an older Zen/Jukebox to something like the I-Trigue L3800, or to one of those iPod devices like the Klipsch iGroove? The I-Trigue with the Creative Wireless Remote I200 is one option, but is it safe to leave the mp3 player plugged into AC power all the time?
    I've also considered a WiFi stereo component that can pull songs off the computer, but with that the computer always has to stay on. When we have a house maybe I'll build a media computer/server that stays running all the time, but for now we just want a very basic setup for our apartment.
    I wouldn't mind upgrading my mp3 player, so I'm pretty close to just purchasing a 30GB iPod and one of the many drop-in solutions for playing your iPod tunes in the living room. Too bad Creative doesn't offer such an accessory for the large-capacity Zen mp3 players.
    Sean

    Hmmm... I am now finding some intriguing accessories... like the Cambridge Pladock that can play and charge Zen players. A little pricey for what probably isn't the best-sound, but all those iPod solutions from Klipsch and Bose are pricey as well.
    Looks like the Zen Vision M docking station might be a good solution. Does anyone have one of these that they just leave connected to the stereo and/or tv and AC power? How do you like it's I guess this might be more versatile than the Playdock.
    Not quite as slick as the many iPod solutions out there, but I like the Creative mp3 players we already have, and the Vision M looks like an awfully nice updgrade from my Jukebox 3 (which has been a little buggy since a recent drop to the pavement). In addition to using it to listen to our mp3s over external speakers, it would be nice to use it for watching video on the tv as well.Message Edited by sean000 on 08-2-2006 02:55 PMMessage Edited by sean000 on 08-2-2006 03:3 PM

  • Loading External Sounds vs Library

    I have successfully loaded an mp3 both externally and from
    the library. When the sound is loaded from the library there is no
    distortion, however using URLRequest to load the sound renders it
    in a distorted tone. Any reason why this might be? I have used an
    eventListener with the URLRequest method to play the sound only
    after it has been fully loaded and it still doesn't correct the
    issue.

    use:
    var wordArray2:Array = new Array("apple","baby","ball","bear","bed","bell","bird","boat","box"," bread","cake","car","cat","chair","chicken","corn","cow","dog","door", "duck","egg","eye","feet","fire","fish","hand","horse","house","milk", "money","nest","pig","rabbit","robin","sheep","shoe","toy","tree","wat er","window","wood","back","birthday","boy","children","Christmas","da y","doll","farmer","farm","father","floor","flower","game","garden","g irl","goodbye","grass","ground","head","hill","home","kitty","leg","le tter","man","men","morning","mother","name","night","paper","party","p icture","rain","ring","Santa","school","seed","sister","snow","song"," squirrel","stick","street","sun","table","time","top","watch","wind"," brother","coat","way");
    var startNum:Number=0
    var soundClip:Sound;
    var sounds:Array = new Array();
    for (var i:Number = 0; i <= 93; i++)
    sounds.push(new URLRequest("PictureSounds/"+wordArray2[i]+".mp3"));
    myButton.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, playSound);
    function playSound(evt:MouseEvent):void
    if(soundClip){
    soundClip=null;
    soundClip=new Sound()
    soundClip.load(sounds[startNum]);

  • Have multiple iTunes libraries on one machine?

    Hi,
    I want to have multiple iTunes libraries on one machine (with two different hard drives, internal fore mp3s and external for AAC files). One library is composed of mp3s for an iPod, I want the other library to have AAC audio files for burning CDs. I would rather the libraries not be mixed.
    I have read the article (#301748) for migrating an iTunes library and am preparing to migrate one of the libraries on to a external hard drive.
    I have read about using Libra to maintain two different libraries on one machine. I was wondering if anyone does this and if they have encountered any problems? Is there a better solution?
    Thank you,
    TPK

    It's one thing to want two music libraries on one machine and another to want two music libraries on one user account. For the latter, here's what I've done.
    I created folders in my iTunes folder called, say, Main Library Folder and Second Library Folder. (These could be anywhere you find convenient.) I dragged my regular iTunes Library file into the Main Library Folder. Then I opened iTunes and created my second music library. When I finished that, I closed iTunes and dragged the just-created iTunes Library file into the Second Library Folder.
    If I want to use my main iTunes library, before opening iTunes I drag an alias (Cmmd-Option-drag) of the iTunes Library file from the Main Library Folder into the iTunes folder. Then, when I open iTunes, iTunes reads my main library file. And of course, it works the same way for the second library.
    Of course, you could just shuffle the actual library files into position in the iTunes folder from their holding areas, but I strongly preferred to get myself into the habit of relying on aliases, so I could leave the actual library file alone in their respective folders. You most definitely would not want to accidentally overwrite one of your iTunes Library files.
    I'm sure one of the shareware products would do a more elegant job, but this just shows you that it's not a difficult process.
    The alternative is to set up separate user accounts to access different libraries on the same machine. This has real benefits and, to me, should be the first option one considers. It's easier on the brain, as it sticks to iTunes' one-user-one-library model, and there's absolutely no risk of getting libraries confused. Fast User Switching on the Mac makes going back and forth between accounts easy. But if you really want to avoid using different accounts, and it's only you that has to keep things straight, the approach of jumping back and forth between different libraries in the same user account should be OK.

  • Updated itunes to 10.4.1.10 on Windows XP. Now cannot add files or album covers. please help

    Installed latest version of itunes when prompted yesterday. Using hp compaq laptop running Windows XP. Now cannot add files to library or add albulm covers. Tried to play new mp3s from external drive, that I was trying to add. got message saying "Itunes was not installed correctly. Please reinstall iTunes. Error7 (windows error 1455)"
    Have also had a couple of  "iTunes has encountered a problem and needs to close" forced shutdowns. Cannot find files to reinstall and itunes is telling me I am using the current version.
    Infuriating!!! Can you help me please?

    Asking me what I think is not what really matters here. What do you think? Do you want to wait for another update to iTunes in order to sync or backup your iPad again? That could be weeks down the road - no telling when it may be updated.
    Why dont you go through this support article and see if any of this stuff helps you? The article is for Windows users.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1538
    Here is something very simple to try. Quit iTunes and restart your computer. Then restart your iPad and try to sync/connect again.
    Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.

  • Swf music file size issues

    Hello,
    I really, really need some expert advice!
    I'm building a site for a band and they want music to play
    when you click on song titles.
    I've created swf files with mp3's and have compressed them at
    16kbps/ 44khz.
    This makes the files around 1-2Mb in size. I couldn't seem to
    get them smaller without sacfrificing sound quality.
    Anyway, when they are loaded onto the site it takes about 3-5
    minutes before they play.
    How can I eliminate or minimise this time delay?
    I've seen what I want to achieve on several flash sites which
    use little juke box players. For example
    click here and the myspace
    music pages.
    Can someone please help me to solve this problem and/or tell
    me what I need to buy?
    Getting very stressed!!

    You need to keep the mp3 files external and load them as
    required. if you
    embed them in the swf, then that can slow your loading times
    for the whole
    movie.

  • What video formats??

    Using the code below I can only play FLV video format. Is
    that correct or does Flash Script let you play other video formats?
    var my_video:Video; // my_video is a Video object on the
    Stage
    var my_nc:NetConnection = new NetConnection();
    my_nc.connect(null);
    var my_ns:NetStream = new NetStream(my_nc);
    my_video.attachVideo(my_ns);
    //my_ns.play("myVideo.mpg");
    //my_ns.play("myVideo.mov");
    //my_ns.play("myVideo.3gp");
    my_ns.play("clouds.flv");

    Yes, the Flash player will only play FLVs (and MP3s) from
    external files. You can embed MPGs and MOVs in your SWF to play, or
    you can convert them to FLV for external playback.
    Good luck!

  • Soundblaster USB 2.0/Model SB0

    Curious if anybody knows of a driver I could use to get the SB0270 (Soundblaster MP3+ USB/External Audio Device) functioning on my Mac Mini (Mac OS 3.8). The MAC recognizes it as a USB Audio Device and 'sort of' works. However, certain applications (like Garageband) do not function properly and when I reboot the Mac Mini, I have to reconfigure the sound again. If there is not a 3rd party driver out there, I think I'll just return it for something that is Mac friendly. Thanks for your help.

    Mac Mini's are too new so you probably won't get much help right now. I'd try some old time Mac MIDI community websites like www.computersandmusic.com as well as some of the links they provide on their site.
