Burning multiple playlists?

Is it possible to burn multiple playlists to a CD at one time? Thanks.

In order to do this you will need to make a new playlist and drag all the playlists that you want to burn on one cd to the new playlist.
Hope this helps

Is it possible to burn multiple playlist to one cd on my macbook pro? I do this all the time on pc. what i want to do is create several folders and drag mp3 files into them so that when i play them in the car i can jump from one playlist (or album) instantly.

  • How do I burn multiple playlists onto cd

    Hello all,
I just bought a new car and the stereo plays mp3 CDs. It has a feature where you can select and play an individual playlist from the cd. So there might be seven playlists on the CD (e.g., playlist one is Beatles, playlist 2 is Rolling Stones, etc.). Does anyone know if and how one can burn more than one playlist onto a CD using iTunes?. Please keep in mind that I want to keep the playlists separate on the CD. Thanks in advance.

iTunes doesn't burn the playlist info to a CD. It simply burns the songs on a playlist to a CD.
You can burn the songs in groups in one of three ways.
    -> http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=60931
If you sort the playlist by song, it burns one directory will all songs.
If you sort by Album, it will put all song in an album in an album folder.
if you sort by Artist, it will put the song in an Album folder which is inside an Artist folder.
Then on the CD player, you should be able to scroll thru the Albums or Artist.

  • Select multiple playlists for burning to DVD Data disc?

Hi, i need to burn about 5 playlists to a DVD Data Disc for temp backup, iTunes only is allowing me to select one playlist at a time. Of corse one play list is about 300 meg and this is totally wasteful of a DVD.
Anyone know how to burn multiple playlists to a single disc? maybe some other app can read iTunes's playlists and provide burning?
I want each playlist to create a self titled folder on disc with the tunes in each.
    Thanks

    Hi man, good idea.
Unfortunately, in iTunes, the "Burn Data Disc" button disappears when the folder is selected, in addition to the burn menu item. The burn button reappears when a single playlist inside the folder is selected, unfortunately again, more than one playlist cannot be selected.
It does appear iTunes can burn only 1 single playlist to a disc or the entire library and nothing in between which is very problematic for me right now.
Sadly the "Back Up to Disc" option in the File menu provides the following options :
"Back Up entire iTunes library and playlist"
"Back Up only iTunes Store purchases"
This appears also to be useless.
Toast 8 won't import exported iTunes XML playlists either and just burn the tracks in each playlist to a folder on the disk.
Suppose we need "iTunes Pro" to do something simple as I require :-((

  • Is there any way to burn several playlists on a single CD?

Using iTunes 6, I have only found how to burn a single playlist into a CD-R. Does anyone know if you can burn several playlists onto the same CD-R. (Given that all the playlists in this case would fit into a 700 MB CD-R) Thanx!

    hiya!
hmmm. itunes doesn't support "open burning sessions", so you can't go back and reburn an additional playlist to a CD-R that has already had one playlist burnt on them. so we'd need to burn all those playlists simultaneously.
one way to do that would be to create a new smart playlist that contains all the playlists that you want to burn in the session. use the following rule:
Match any of the following rules:
Playlist is [first playlist you want to burn]
Playlist is [second playlist you want to burn]
    (etc)
you might then want to go through the smart playlist and reorder the songs. once you've got them in your preferred order, burn the smart playlist to the CD-R.
(doing things this way might save you a bit of time. rather than having to recreate a "burning playlist" from scratch each time you want to burn multiple playlists, you could just change the rules in the smart playlist to alter which playlists you want to burn at any given time.)

  • I tunes: when trying to burn a playlist I keep getting the message: the attempt to burn a disc failed. The disc could not be read from or written to. I am using version 12

I tunes: I am using version 12 of I tunes. Ever since downloading it I get the message when trying to burn a playlist it says, The attempt to burn a disc failed. The disc could not be read from or written to.
I uninstalled V-12 and then reinstalled it. This enabled me to burn a disc again but after a couple of tries I received the same error message again. Has Apple put out a fix to this problem that anyone is aware of?
    Thanks.

    Hi rossfrombluffton,
Welcome to the Support Communities!  The resource below provides some general things to consider when burning a disc with iTunes.  I would also try burning a music CD and a data disc from a different application in the Windows OS and trying a different brand CD just to confirm the issue is not with the optical drive.
Can't burn a CD in iTunes for Windows - Apple Support
    http://support.apple.com/en-ae/HT203173
Find out what to do if you can't burn an audio CD using iTunes for Windows. Sometimes an audio disc may not burn as expected. Here are some things to check.
    Update iTunes
Download and install the latest version of iTunes for Windows.Check for unauthorized songs
iTunes will stop burning a disc if you purchased one or more of the songs in a playlist from the iTunes Store and the songs aren't authorized to play on your computer. This message should appear: "Some of the files can not be burned to an audio CD. Do you still want to burn the remainder of this playlist? For more information on why some files can not be burned, click below."
To find out which songs aren't authorized, play each song in the playlist. Songs that play are authorized. Songs that don't play aren't authorized. You'll be asked to authorize any unauthorized songs.Make sure your playlist will fit on a single CD
If there are too many songs in a playlist to fit on a single CD, iTunes should ask if you want to burn multiple discs or cancel the burn. This message should appear: "The songs in this playlist will not fit on one Audio CD. Do you want to create multiple Audio CDs with this playlist split across them? This will require more than one blank CD to complete."
If you click the Audio CDs button, the burn will continue and you'll be asked to insert blank CDs until the playlist is completely burned. If you click cancel, the burn will be canceled.
To make the playlist shorter so that it will fit on a single CD, select a song to remove from the playlist and choose Edit > Clear. Repeat this step until the duration of the playlist is between 60 and 80 minutes. The duration appears at the top of the playlist window. Most CD-R discs can hold 60 to 80 minutes of music.
Check how many times you've burned the playlist
An unchanged playlist that contains songs purchased from the iTunes Store can be burned no more than seven times.Additional steps and submitting feedback

  • Cannot burn a playlist over more than one CD

I have developed the following problem:
If I try to burn a playlist which requires more than one CD, I get the usual message asking me if I want to burn on more than one audio CD to which I reply yes. Once the first CD is finished I get the message to insert another CD which then proceeds to burn the songs already burned on the first CD instead of moving on to the next batch!
Also sometimes the song names etc are included on the burned CD but usually they are not.
Is this a problem particular to me or is it an iTunes 8 gift?
I have repaired permissions and this makes no difference.

patience, patience. You have to remember that no one gets paid here. We're all volunteers. Your question probably just slipped through the cracks.
    OK
Yes you can use multiple drives. I do it all the time. I usually have one drive dedicated as my Capture drive where I keep all of my captued footage and then other drives for all of the other stuff, ie graphics, music, etc...

  • Burning multiple CDS

I am attempting to burn a playlist that is too long for one CD. When the first CD is finished, it ejects, the computer asks for another blank disk, and then proceeds to burn the exact same part of the playlist. I cannot get burn the second part of the playlist. I thought this would be automatic. Anyone have an explanation for this?
    Thanks,

The iTunes ability to burn a long playlist across multiple audio CDs has always been buggy and unreliable. To save yourself frustration, split the long playlist into individual lists that are each comfortably under 80 minutes. Then burn one at a time.

  • Suggestion for Burning Multiple CDs

When you try to burn a playlist that has too many songs to fit on one cd, it would be VERY helpful if itunes would tell you how many CDs if plans to use and which songs would be on each cd. Perhaps the playlist could become color coded, grouping songs together per each cd itunes plans to use.
