Burning music from music store

I just bought an album from the iTunes Music Store and tried to burn it to a CD-R but it came up with an error reading "The attempt to burn a disc failed. The device failed to calibrate the laser power level for this media." I don't know what else to do. I have done all the steps for burning correctly but it still doesn't work and I have tried it with more than one disc.

I finally found the workaround.( I received the same error message.)
Set the Preferred Burn speed to 2X
Quit all your other Applications before you start your burn.
It's slow but it does work on my G4/450 Cube.
Hope this helps.

  • Problem burning CD after buying CD from Music Stor...

    Hi.
Purchased and downloaded a CD from Nokia Music Store. License says I can tranfere digitaly as many times as I want, and burn to CD 10 times. After burning to CD once, I am now denied to burn a second time!
I get a message saying I can`t burn because I haven`t got the DRM-licence, or I have spent my 10 burn "permissions". I have NOT done this!
    Pleace, anyone who can help??

    fjane37,
Once you've imported your tracks, the first step is to create a Playlist.
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?path=iTunesMac/5.0/en/517.html
Once that's done, you're ready to burn your CD.

  • Burning Videos from Music Store

I want to download an entire season of a show from the music store, but only if I will be able to save it onto a disk so I can burn it or watch it on another computer. Is this possible? I'm not really familiar with this type of media, so any help would be appreciated.
Also, if anyone knows, is it possible to put my own videos onto my iPod? If so, how?
    Thanks!

You can buy a show on the music store and burn a "Data CD" of it for back up and to play on another PC.
Only "Catch" is currently you cannot Burn and then play them in a DVD player. the "Data CD" will only play on a PC. Secondly when you try to play it on another PC, it will have to have iTUnes installed on it and (I THink) you have to authorize it.
Far as your own Videos go, If there listed or you add them to the latest version of iTunes (Version 6.0.4.2) you can rightclick a video in iTUnes and select "Convert to iPOd format". THere are other programs you can download off the net and use for this too just have to search around for a program you like and prefer. • Can no longer burn CD from iTunes music

I had no problems burning iTunes before yesterday. Now when I try to put new titles into "Toast," I get the prompt "(i.e. song title) m4p was not added because it was not authorized for digital export." How do I get the proper authorization. Nancy

    Hi Nancy,
As we mentioned in your previous post, protected Music Store purchases (.m4p files) can only be burned to an audio CD through iTunes.
Toast, nor any other burning application, does not have the necessary decoders built in to decrypt the FairPlay DRM (Apple's digital rights management) which Music Store purchases carry.
You must use iTunes to burn an audio CD with protected tracks.
The alternative would be to purchase the same songs from a different provider (e.g. Amazon) who do not use DRM technology to be able to use Toast to burn the disc with all of the desired tracks.
    Hope this helps,
    Steve

  • I cannot download music purchased from iTunes store to iPod

All of a sudden when I connect my 2G Nano I get an error message that says, "Some of the items in the iTunes library were not copied to the iPod "your name iPod" Because your iPod software is too old. Go to the Summary in iPod preferences and click Update to get the latest iPod software update."
When I click OK The "Update" button is greyed out and I cannot select it. On the Summary tab under "Version" it says "your iPod is up to date."
What I noticed is that any songs in my playlists that were purchased through the iTunes music store were not transfered to the iPod. The difficult work around is to burn those songs to a CD and re-import them as mp3's. I tried deauthorizing and reauthorizing my computer which did not work. I also rebuilt my iTunes music library which did not work.
I belive when I irst set up this new iPod about 3 weeks ago this was not a problem and purchased songs transferred from iTunes to the iPod but now they don't.
    Any Suggestions?

Also I forgot to mention that when all this was happening, I wanted to Retore my iPod but this option was also greyed out in the summary section and it wouldnt let me do it, therefore I hooked it up to my Windows XP machine and was able to restore the iPod. Now it was formatted for Windows. I hooked it up to my Mac machine and got all the same problems but it downloads everything from itunes to the iPod except purchased music.
So I opened iPod Updater and it said that it cannot update the iPod because it if formated for Windows. It also says if I now want to Restore it, I need to connect using a firewire cable whereas before I was using a USB cable because it said the Nano is not compatible with a firewire cable.
    Arghhhh.

  • Obtain ID-tag from m4a, m4p, mp3, ... file bought on iTunes Music Store

How can i obtain ID-tag (... and an unique ID?) from m4a, m4p, mp3 file bought on iTunes Music Store?
I need to build C/C++ application to make this.
    Best regards.

Burn them to an audio CD then re-import them. This strips off the restrictions and protections rendering them like any other CD music you import. And then you can store the CDRs away as a backup of your purchase.

  • Using music from itunes store

    Hey everybody,
This is my problem: I recently purchased an audio track from iTunes Music Store, in mp4. When trying to run it on FCP, to use it in a film of mine, it turns out mute, unreadable by the application. I tried changing the extention of the music file from mp4 to mp3 or wav, but it didn't work. I also tried exporting the music file as a Quick Time Movie, but FCP still won't read it.
Can anyone help me with that?
    Thank you very much.
    Stef.
P.S. This song is very rare, I already tried looking for a CD somewhere; there is none.

If it is "protected AAC" from iTunes, it cannot be used in FCP, iMovie, et al. iTunes will not transcode it, either, other than to burn it on a CD as AIFF (hint).
If the film is for other than your personal use, you need a synchronization license to use it with video of any type (and I'm not sure about the personal use, either, what with the Millennium Copyright act and its restriction on "reverse engineering").

  • Removing clicks and pops from music store music

I tried to burn a CD for my car of songs I got from the music store but the CD had all sorts of pops and clicks. I tried to fix them in STP, but it is taking forever. Two questions, first will STP eventually fix the problem, and second, am I not supposed to burn these songs that I purchased to CDs?

The clicks and pops may be caused by iTunes "Sound Check" function ... this has been known to cause distortion ... to test if this is the cause turn off "Sound Check" by going to the menu, iTunes:Preferences...: then click on the "Playback" icon to bring up the Playback options pane ... if "Sound Check" is checked, uncheck it ... then try burning your CD again ... if "Sound Check" is the culprit your CD should playback OK ..

  • Transferring Music Bought from Nokia Music Store u...

I have bought music from Nokia’s Music Store (specifically, on the Finnish ‘Nokia Musiikkikauppa’). I have downloaded the music files to my computer, and would like to transfer them to my phone, a Nokia N82. In order to do that, I have tried to use Nokia Music Manager (v2.0). I am able to find the songs I downloaded on my PC in the ‘My Collection’ section of Nokia Music Manager, and I can see my phone ‘N82’ in the list below. However, when I go to File -> Copy to Phone, the ‘Copy to Phone’ line is greyed-out, and I cannot use that function. This makes no sense to me. Can it really be that I cannot use ‘Nokia Music Manager’ to transfer music I bought at the ‘Nokia Music Store?’
I partially suspect that this is indeed the case. From the Nokia Music Store help section, I have read “You need to use [Windows Media Player] in order to be able to play, burn and transfer the DRM-protected WMA files from Nokia Music Store.” From this, it would seem that only Windows Media Player can be used to transfer Nokia Music Store music to Nokia phones. However, I simply find it beyond belief that Nokia’s own music manager software cannot be used to transfer music bought from Nokia’s own music store to Nokia’s own devices.
Can anyone shed light on this case?

i had this problem, try doing it through the windows media player. i cannot remember exactly how i did it in the end but i did burn the music to a disc and i'm wondering if i loaded it from the cd in the end?

  • Playing and/or converting purchased music from iTunes Store (in Windows).

I just purchased some music from the iTunes Store and now it's telling me it's protected and it won't play in anything other than iTunes. If I bought the music, shouldn't I be able to do with it what I will? I need to use it for a DVD I'm making with Windows Movie Maker and it won't allow me. HELP!

Tracks purchased from any legal download store carrying major-label content, including the iTunes Music Store, are copy-protected and so cannot be directly converted to any other format. You can, however, burn the tracks purchased from the iTunes Music Store out to an audio CD, at which point it will act just like any other normal audio CD.

  • Trying to use music purchased from iTunes store with a home movie

I am making a home movie for family use only in either iMovie or Final Cut Pro, but neither app will allow me to use music purchased from iTunes store. Why not? It's not a licensing issue b/c there is no distribution other than my family at a big birthday party. The music imports but acts as if it has no audio once the file is imported to either program. help!

Put the purchased songs into a playlist. Set iTunes burning options to burn AUDIO CDs. Burn the playlist to an audio CD (you can use a CD-RW if you don't want to waste a blank). After it is done, reimport the tracks off the CD. Now use the reimported versions in iMovie or FCP and they should work fine now.

I have iTunes 6.0.3 (6) and ever since upgrading to the latest Quicktime (7.04) and iTunes, the video bought in the Music Store plays back jerky (the sound is fine, but the images stall every second or so, then catch up with the audio.
