Burning my m4p

I've a very big problem!
I bought the last album of Christina Aguilera from Itunes store and I want burn this m4p into cd in wav format for listening this album into my car, but I can't!!!
Why???
Can you help me?
Erika

I have a similar or the same problem except I dont want .wav I am trying to burn m4p onto a cd as an Audio cd and will not burn, freezes up itunes. I just got windows re-installed thus I had to re install itunes and re add my files including old purchased i tunes music. My Burner is new and will burn other file types to audio cd so I dont think it is the problem, and even if it was i have a custom built computer and wouldnt know where to get firmware. I would be using cd's on an mp3 compatible cd player would it work if i just switched burn mode to mp3 cd?

  • Program to Burn M4P to CDs?

I am getting extremely frustrated with the fact that I can only listen to Downloaded music from the iTunes Library only on my computer. I am wondering if anyone knows a program that will Burn these M4P files to cds. Nero and Ulead both do not work when I try to burn my new cds to a cd.

    iTunes will do it fine.
iTunes prefs -> Advanced - Burning. Set it to Audio CD.
Create a playlist with the music you want, then click on Burn.

  • Play M4P in Windows Media Player

When I first found iTunes and its music store I was never ntofied that I was purchasing a proprietary music format that required me to play the file in iTunes or on an iPod only.
I own several digital music solutions including an in-dash mp3 (cd) player as well as other non-apple mp3 portable playback devices.
None of these devices are compatible with the mp4 extension. I have legally purchased this music for my personal use and I cann use it unless I use apple products and it infuriates me.
Is there a software solution that will allow mp4 to be converted to m4a or mp3?
I am not interested in buring CD after CD from iTunes for the 500+ protected files in my library. One I shouldn;t have to do this. I already paid for the music, I shouldn;t have to spend more money in order to play it on my own computer or non-apple digital music device. Two the amount of CDs I would use to do this and the time it would take is not an option and I would only have to burn a CD each time I buy music from the iTunes Music Store.
I need a software solutuion. I have codecs that allow WMP to play m4a (as I would rather play music there than in iTunes) but I need a way to translate m4p to mp3 so that my non-iPod can use the music I have legally purchased.
Apple turly needs to notify, IN BOLD PRINT that the music you by from them is only useable on their devices. I will not purchase another thing related to iPods or iTunes until there is a solution for this that does not invole me spending any additional money.

Question 1: Is it possible to listen to the song on my Sandisk MP3 player?
    No.
Question 2: Can I simply burn the m4p to an audio cd-rom?
Yes, you can burn it to a CD-R or CD-RW as a standard audio CD.
A CD-ROM cannot be written to.

  • Unknown error (4251) - ANYONE HAVE AN ANSWER???

I see plenty of threads on this error message but unfortunately cannot find one that gives an answer to the problem! Everytime I try to burn a disc using itunes I get several songs into the burn and it fails with the following message. . . "the attempt to burn a disc failed. An unknown error occurred (4251)". I am fairly certain this is an itunes problem and not my pc as this laptop is brand spanking new with completely up to date drivers for the matsushito drive. I can reduce the burn speed as much as you like and it still fails to finish. Here is my diagnostics . . .

  • Bought tunes, can't play them... ?

I bought 4 CD's, downloaded them, burned them. I can see them on the CD, they have the right meg size files. They won't play on the computer, or in a CD player.
I also dumped all 4 CD's on a single DVD as data, moved them to another computer ... the files are there, they have size, they play, but no sound.
I'm not familiar with how things work when purchasing from the store.
I am cutting a film. We want to try out the music from a certain artist on the film (meaning we need to the music files from computer to computer in the edit suite). We already have the contact numbers for the artist if the music works with image. But we can't seem to get the tunes from the iTunes store to the edit suite compluter.
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks, Ben

Do the tunes in question (m4p) play in iTunes on the computer that you purchased through?
Have you updated QuickTime to v7.1.3?
What are you burning instruction settings in iTunes prefs>Advanced>Burning? m4p files will not play in regular CD players. m4p files have DRM and are protected. You will need to burn the m4p tunes as an Audio CD. Then they will play in a regular CD palyer or other computer. By converting to an audio file you strip out the DRM. You can then convert thoseaudio files back to an mp3 by changing your import settings in iTunes prefs>Advanced>Importing.
If you want to play iTunes purchases on another computer you will need to Authorize that computer.

  • Converting mp4 files to mp3 files

could someone tell me how to convert mp4 files into mp3 files? thanks

    Now this is clear.
You didn't have an .mp4 file or even a .m4a file. Yours is .m4p.
    The "p" stands for protected.
The rules say you can burn your .m4p files to CD. The CD file will be in .aiff format.
Drag the .aiff file into iTunes and then "convert" (using the options in your preferences for bit rate and extension).

  • Breaking up music collection purchased in one iTunes account

Well, the time has come for my girlfriend and I to part ways, unfortunately we've both been buying music from the store in the same ITMS account.
Is there any way to move her music into her own personal account? It's fine if it no longer works in my account.

You can contact the iTS and explain what you want to do - http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/store/browser/
You both will need an account for any transfer to take place - if it is even possible. The real problem as around the authorization of the tunes. Another idea is for each of you to set up new iTS accounts and keep the current one as common and agree not to change the account password.
You can also burn the .m4p DRM tunes to separate audio CD's so you will both have copy of just your tunes.

  • Old Purchased Music Stutters

In the past few weeks I have noticed a problem with some of my puchased music. Certain tracks will play fine for a few seconds and then become very static-y and begin to stutter and skip.
    Observations:
It only seems to occur on music I purchased (through iTunes) before 2009.
The static isn’t always in the same place. If I skip to the middle of a track, it will, again, play fine for a few seconds and then start skipping.
The songs aren’t corrupted on my iPod, just on iTunes on my computer.
Recent purchases or older songs from CDs are unaffected.
I hope someone can help! I can no longer listen to these tracks (roughly 250 songs are affected) on itunes, which is annoying and makes me lose faith in the itunes store. I have searched around online and tried a few of the tips (adjusting sound settings, etc), but nothing seems to work. I have plenty of memory left on my computer, and the songs skip even when itunes is the only program open on my desktop.
    Ideas?
    Thanks so much.

Check the file type of the problem songs, by selecting, File/Show in Windows Explorer. You will see these are M4P files, and in iTunes under Get Info they will show as "protected AAC". Apple dropped the DRM (file protection) some months back. To date there are close to 20 different threads on the exact same problem of protected M4P files not playing properly in iTunes 9.1. Until Apple fixes it in a future update, there are five workarounds: updgrade to iTunes Plus, first burn the M4P files onto a CD then reimport them back into iTunes, purchase 3rd party software to convert M4P files to MP3, play the songs in Quicktime, or revert your iTunes version to an earlier version. In the meantime, send Apple a bug report.

  • Can't burn m4p songs to audio cd

I used to be able to burn m4p songs to an audio CD in iTunes.
This does not seem to work anymore.
If I create a playlist with my m4p songs then burn it to an Audio CD, nothing happens.  If I add a few mp3 files to the playlist and burn it, only the mp3 files get placed in the audio CD.
I'd like to burn my songs to CD and be able to play it in my car's CD player.
When did this feature go away? And is there a way to do this now?

As an update to my previous post, I took one of the playlists with both songs with a purchase date and songs without.  All of the songs were .m4p files.  iTunes only burned the songs with a purchase date.  Some of these songs were from 2003, some were from 2006.  I then deleted 3 of the songs without a purchase date, re-downloaded them, and put the re-downloaded songs back in the playlist.  They now had the current date as the purchase date.  iTunes burned those along with the others with a purchase date, but still skipped the ones without a purchase date.  I have purchase dates dating back to June, 2003, but as I sorted them, I found over 1600 protected files without purchase dates (out of 2700).  I know they burned before because I have some playlists that contained some of these songs that were burned previously.  I also know from some printouts I made several years ago that many of these songs had purchase dates.  It's as though the database corrupted and the purchase dates went missing; now they won't burn without them.  I did open a ticket regarding the missing purchase dates.  We'll see what happens.  I realize that I could delete and re-download most of the songs (some are no longer available in the store), but I'd have to annotate my playlists first, then delete, re-download, then re-populate the playlists.  WAY too much work.

  • Can no longer burn CD from iTunes music

I had no problems burning iTunes before yesterday. Now when I try to put new titles into "Toast," I get the prompt "(i.e. song title) m4p was not added because it was not authorized for digital export." How do I get the proper authorization. Nancy

    Hi Nancy,
As we mentioned in your previous post, protected Music Store purchases (.m4p files) can only be burned to an audio CD through iTunes.
Toast, nor any other burning application, does not have the necessary decoders built in to decrypt the FairPlay DRM (Apple's digital rights management) which Music Store purchases carry.
You must use iTunes to burn an audio CD with protected tracks.
The alternative would be to purchase the same songs from a different provider (e.g. Amazon) who do not use DRM technology to be able to use Toast to burn the disc with all of the desired tracks.
    Hope this helps,
    Steve

  • M4P files don't seem to work in Imovie HD

I am having trouble using M4P songs I purchased on Itunes in Imovie. They cause the Ken Burns effect to be shaky. I do not have the same problem when I use music I imported from CD's. Has anyone else had this issue?

    I guess I was sleepy... it's [11.0.10] not 10.0.10
At any rate, the key path I used mentioned @ http://www.adobe.com/devnet-docs/acrobatetk/tools/QuickKeys/EnhancedSecurityQuickKeyAll.pd f (for reader 11.x) is

  • Sync problem with m4p songs

    Hello:
I have an iPod classic. When I synced it a few days ago, one group of songs (that are checked and in my iTunes selection) never made it back to the iPod. They're on the external drive in the same spot as all the other songs.
During the sync, a message pops that there are x number of songs that cannot transfer. They are all U2 songs in m4p format that carried over from my original "U2 iPod" that I bought years ago. Again however, all the m4p U2 songs were syncing just fine recently and were on my current iPod as of a few days ago.
When I go into iTunes to select and play one of these songs, I get a "the computer is not authorized to play it" error which prompts for an Apple store ID & password, which I type in, but they still don't play. I've tried unauthorizing and reauthorizing the computer, but I get a message that the computer is already authorized. I've reset & restored the iPod and have the latest iPod and iTunes software. I don't get it.
I was told that perhaps removing the m4p restriction from the files and converting them to mp3 might help, but I'd rather not risk messing around with that. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!

As for your first suggestion - does it cost anything to "upgrade" them?
    Yes. 30 cents a track.
And why should I have to "upgrade" them at all
You don't "have" to. It is only if you want non-DRM tracks.
since I've already paid for them when I bought the U2 iPod several years ago?
What you paid for had DRM. The charge is to get non-DRM versions.
As for your second suggestion, if I burn all of these songs to a regular audio CD, won't the m4p restriction remain, thus not allowing them to play?
Audio CDs can be played without authorization. iTunes has always had the ability to burn tracks to a regular audio CD. Many people find that having songs on an audio CD is very handy.
    Thanks!
    You are welcome.
