Burning on a CD mixes ordering

Hi all.
I gave my old iMac G5 to my father as a gift so he could work on a good computer. He is heavily using iPhoto. The last version running on a PowerPC is iPhoto 08 Version 7.1.5. That is what he got.
Strange things are happening there. He ist reordering photos, making adjustements and so on. With the burning dialogue from within iPhoto he burns an album. Strangely he gets a CD with pictures that has all the ordering and adjustments he made if he uses it via iPhoto. On his DVD-Player or on another computer the ordering is mixed. I found out why: iPhoto is dividing that in two events. That results in another structure of directorys. Therefore, on an external player it shows the pictures from one events and plays after that the pictures from the other. I checked the status in the events, too. There is correctly only one. I am out of solutions right now.
Does anyone know if there is a way to force iPhoto to consolidate those two events into one without manipulating the timestamp?
Thanks for your support in advance,
Alex

If he is using the Share -> Burn command then he is making a disk that is designed for use in iPhoto only - for instance as a back up or to share with other iPhoto users. His DVD player simply doesn't understand the iPhoto database.
To make a disk for that usage:
Make an Album of the Photos, sort to whatever you prefer
Then Photos Menu: Batch Change -> Set Title to Text "John's Birthday", for instance, and tick the box to append a number to each Photo. Now your photos are titled 'John's Birthday 001, John's Birthday 002 ... etc'
Then File -> Export and in the Export dialogue set the Filename to "Use Title"
Sort on Filename in the FInder and you end up with a folder full of images in the same order as the Album in iPhoto.
Burn that with the Finder

  • Burning songs in a particular order

How do I burn songs in a particular order?
I tried to burn all the songs by one artist, but it did it by albums - I wanted to hit random on my cd player and it randomly play the 100 songs, not by album.
And how do I create one with a bunch of different songs in an order and it actually play it that way and not in alphabetical order. This link didn't help me ...
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2455

Anyone know how to get all songs by one artist on a cd where it won't go through each cd. I'd like to hit random and it go wherever and not one cd at a time. It will random through the first cd, the second, but not random all of them at once. Does that make sense?

Could you post your diagnostics for us please?
In iTunes, go "Help > Run Diagnostics". Uncheck the boxes other than DVD/CD tests, as per the following screenshot:
    ... and click "Next".
When you get through to the final screen:
... click the "Copy to Clipboard" button and paste the diagnostics into a reply here.

  • Burn playlist and songs mix out of order

I burn my playlist and when it is finished the songs shuffle out of order on the burned CD. I have removed the songs and made a new playlist, then burned a new copy and this did not work.

I'm not 100% sure but I think you create your play order manually then select the playlist, right click it (or use ctrl+click) & select "Copy to play order".
I think when you burn that playlist it should obey that order, it has been so long since I made a mix CD that I'm not certain, good luck.

  • Burning CD with songs IN ORDER

when i make mix CDs and put the songs into a specific order on a playlist and press the burn button (usually this occurs when there are more than 1 CDs being made) it switches the order i made for the songs. i cant put them in order of track because they are all from different CDs. what should i do so that i can keep the order i want them to be in?
    -cecile

If you want to ensure that they are in human understandable number order, you will need to number them like this:
    001
    002
    010
    011
    100
    101
    ... etc.

  • ITunes burning albums/playlists in reverse order

BURNING CD's IN REVERSE TRACK ORDER... (Version 8.2.1)
Here is the solution to this problem that has been ruining all of my blank cd's.
I was viewing all of my albums and playlists in the "grid" view. The solution is to simply switch to "list" view. Now, when clicking the little black arrow in the column heading for play order, to the left of the track name, all of the numbers should remain the same, with 1 at the top and the last track at the bottom. The actual tracks will reverse each time you click the arrow, but the numbers will stay the same, allowing you to actual be changing the order.
If you are in "grid" view, clicking on the little black arrow in that column will reverse the view of the tracks, but if you notice, a track with play order of 7 will stay with that associated file name even if you click it.
Switch to "list" view and a track with a play order of 7 will change to a different track after clicking the arrow. You will now be able to un-reverse any playlists or albums you are having problems with.

    ALSO...
If you create your playlist from an album that is in "grid" view, the tracks will be reversed and you will not be able to un-reverse the playlist by changing views. It doesn't make any sense, but try switching to list view before selecting the album/tracks you want to create the playlist from.
I guess this is the actual solution, more than my previous post.
I hope I was not the only person frustrated by this problem for so long...

  • How can I burn songs in a certain order onto a cd?

I want to burn a group of songs in a certain order onto a cd. ITunes seems to pick it's own order.

    Make a playlist.
Put the songs in whatever order you like
    Click File>Burn CD

  • TS1436 Burn does not go in order of playlist

I have created a playlist to burn to a CD....it does not burn in order.  What is wrong:

Which player? My Nomad Jukebox plays alphabetically if I just select an artist, but if I open an artist and select an album, it's by album order.

  • Why can't I burn mp3 files in the order I choose? iTunes alphabetizes!

I have set up a playlist in the exact order I want the songs to go--in alpha order by album, but no matter what I do, when I try to burn the playlist, iTunes burns it in alpha order by song title.
Tell me that this is not the only way iTunes will allow you to burn playlists, please.

Hey - thanks for the pointer to the help doc, but it doesn't make sense to me -- the first hint says:
How to burn by playlist order
    1. Create your playlist.
    2. Click "Song" to sort the playlist by song.
    3. Make sure the songs are in the order you want to hear them on the CD.
    4. Click Burn CD.
    5. Insert a blank CD and burn the disc.
#2 - Click "Song" to sort the playlist by song... ? So, where is this mysterious "song" button to click? Right now, I have it sorted by artist, because that's how I'd like it to play, but I don't see an option for song. And at the moment, no matter what I select to sort it by, it burns in alphabetical order by song title.
None of this makes sense to me.

  • Burning MP3 disc in "right order"

Hello everyone. I've been trying to burn an MP3 disc. Burning all the tracks onto a disc has been successful but for some reason, I have not been able to get it in the right as it reflects on the playlist. Can anybody help me?

Here are the instructions from the page you liked to:
How to burn by playlist order
    Create your playlist.
Click "Song" to sort the playlist by song.
Make sure the songs are in the order you want to hear them on the CD.
    Click Burn CD.
Insert a blank CD and burn the disc.
I have yet to find "Song" to click on. The word is nowhere to be found. It'd be nice if they'd tell us where "song" is so I can click on it.
I've also noticed the program sometimes will not "read" that I've inserted a blank disc.
None of this was happening last week. Is there a way to go back to iTunes before the last (lousy) upgrade?

  • Burning audio discs in exact order of play list

I have looked at some discussion re this topic but it is all old and the problem seems not to be resolved. When I burn a disc, it places all the tunes out of order, so when I print the cover sheet playlist, it doesn't match with what is burned on the disc. This is just not acceptable. What can be done to resolve this rather irritating problem? duc13

OK, based on that info, I see the following at pcidatabase.com:
Device  Id Chip Description                   Vendor Id  Vendor Name
0x1077  Gigabit Ethernet Controller (Mobile)  0x8086     Intel Corporation
0x4220  Intel 54 MBit/s Notebook WLAN Card    0x8086     Intel Corporation
    Wired and wireless, respectively.
From this, please try installing the following two packages from your support site:
    Intel PRO/1000 LAN adapter software
    http://support.lenovo.com/us/en/products/laptops-and-netbooks/thinkpad-r-series-laptops/thinkpad-r51/downloads/DS004058
Intel Wireless LAN (11abgn, abg, bg) for Windows XP, 2000 - ThinkPad
    http://support.lenovo.com/us/en/products/laptops-and-netbooks/thinkpad-r-series-laptops/thinkpad-r51/downloads/DS003878
Once done, you should be able to connect via your choice of wired or wireless, and then be able to use the TVSU application to check for other drivers.
    Regards.

Some of the best prices on iPhones can be found either from ATT on-line store or sometimes the Apple Store. These are deeply discounted REFURBISHED iPhones, but still carry a warrentee. I bought one for my dad, who had his original stolen while he was at the hospital in surgery. It's been about a year, without a glitch.

  • How do I burn a playlist from itunes to CD in same order as playlist?

My playlist has songs in the order I want them burned, but when I click burn it burns them in a random order onto the CD? I tried dragging the songs 1 by 1 to the CD icon on my desktop and numbered & organised them in the order I wanted them burned, selected them all and clicked burn in the CD window and it said it copied only 1 song. When I played the CD it was blank?? This question was answered in an earlier post but the answer was incomplete and vague and didnt help. I never had this problem before, is it a bug in the current itunes upgrade? Help me pleeease?

Usually, sorting on Artist or Album will show the correct order in which the tracks also are burned on CD.
If the tracks are burned out of order, the track numbers might be incorrect.
Sorting on the first column (with the numbers), allows you to drag the tracks in any order you want. iTunes will then burn the tracks in that order.

  • ITunes Freezes when Burning a Mix

Every time that I attempt to burn a mix CD, using songs that I had previous to using iTunes which are in .mp3 format and some of the music that I have purchased through the store (.m4p) or at a brick-and-mortar store (.m4a) iTunes freezes up and I have to ctrl-alt-delete to shut it down. Please don't tell me that I'm not able to burn CDs featuring a mix of songs that I have purchased and songs I previously owned. I have paid a lot of money to Apple through the iTunes store and I should be allowed to make a compilation if I choose to. Is anyone else experiencing this problem? Its not my burner or Windows because I burned the new Shins' CD (purchased on iTunes) with no problem.

    Hi everyone on this thread.
I'm glad to see that it isn't just me who has problems JUST with the playlists with the downloaded/purchased tracks on it.
I have been to my PC company and they installed the latest firmware for my motherboard, so I have nothing more to do there.
I have tried everything. I can only assume this is an Itunes 6.0 problem as everything was ok for me until I downloaded that update.
