M30x MultiDrive will not burn DVDs from Windows Movie Maker
Hi,
My M30x MultiDrive will not burn DVDs from Windows Movie Maker and other applications.
I have also had problems burning CDs (unbranded) from Windows XP, built in utility.
Does the multidrive have problems, with cheaper brand disks?
Just to note,
The laptop has been back to the support guys three times so far with various issues.
(1) The hard drive failed.
(2) The multidrive failed.
(3) The motherboard got replaced, because of power failures, it wouldnt charge the battery or recognise that the power adapter was plugged in.
Note: The harddisk, not the exhaust fan makes the most noise in mine!
ThanksHi
As far as I know the preinstalled burning software (i.e. record now, drag ndrop) disabled the Windows XP burning option. In this case if you want to use the Movie Maker or Windows media player burning option, you should to enable this possibility.
Please go to driver properties (right click). Please select the Recording tab. The option Enable CD recording on this drive should be marked.
I use the Nero burning software and in my opinion its a one of the best burning programs. Furthermore you should try different CD/DVD manufacturers because some CDs and DVDs are not compatible with some drives. Check the TDK CDs and DVDs. I never had any problems with these medias.

Help with error code 4310 while burning CD on windows 8
Cancels when burning and pops up with text box saying. "The attempt to burn a disc failed. An unknown error (4310)".
Hi funjjhoweANDcool,
I understand the frustration when you are unable downloading content from the iTunes Store. I would start with this section of the following article.
iTunes Store: "Error (-50)" when downloading purchased content
http://support.apple.com/kb/ts1583
This can happen when a connection timeout occurs while you're downloading purchased content from the iTunes Store. For example, certain types of software may affect how a computer sends and receives information from the Internet:
Firewalls
Web Accelerators
Ad Filters
Virus Protection Software
Resolution
If you have any of the software listed above and you can't access the iTunes Store or complete your download, you'll need to configure the software to allow iTunes to connect to the Internet and to allow the following domains to send and receive data from the Internet:
itunes.apple.com
ax.itunes.apple.com
albert.apple.com
gs.apple.com
deimos3.apple.com
phobos.apple.com
Refer to the documentation that came with that software and, if necessary, contact the software's manufacturer.
You can also try these steps:
If a web accelerator could be causing the issue, contact your Internet Service Provider (ISP) or the software manufacturer.
If your computer is on a network, try using a different computer on the network or discussing the issue with the network administrator.
If needed, there are further steps including those for Windows 8 in this section.
"Error (-50)" appears when you download purchased videos
Thanks for reaching out,

Cannot burn CD from itunes.
The thing is, they are in the unprotected format? (
They are protected WMA from when you RIP'd them with WMP. iTunes will not read them.
Go to WMP Tools -> Rip Music.
Under Rip settings, it is set to *Windows Media Audio* and most likely *Copy protect music* is ticked. This is how it is protected.
You will need to reRIP them all from CD. -
Burning CDs in Windows Vista with iTunes 7.1
I have iTunes working pretty well for the most part in Windows Vista (Ultimate x64). The only thing that I can't get to work is CD burning. For some reason iTunes doesn't recognize my burner. In the preferences, it says No supported Disc burners found. My burner is a NEC DVD+-RW ND-3450A and Vista recognizes the drive and can burn to it. Is anyone else experiencing the same problem?
I have iTunes working pretty well for the most part in Windows Vista (Ultimate x64). The only thing that I can't get to work is CD burning.
hmmmm. it might be the x64 aspect that is troubling you here.
can you post your DVD/CD diagnostics? (i want to check to see if you're getting a 2380 error in there.)
in itunes, go "help > run diagnostics", select DVD/CD diagnostics, and paste the complete results into a reply. -
How to burn imovie with windows
I have a new ipad and I want to buy imovie but I do not own a Mac computer. I use windows vista. What would be a good program to use to burn my imovie projects to a DVD?
I solved my own problem. After two full days of trying and having multiple videos files (iso, mp4, mpg,video_ts, audio_ts,etc) I was finally able to burn a playable DVD! I ended up using miDVD to burn it. I first exported my iMovie project as a file and opened up the Movies file and dropped it in there. From there it showed up in the miDVD program and it was super simple to get it burned to a dvd that works in dvd players and on my mac.

Disc Burner Not Found Windows Vista
Im getting disc burner not found or burning software not found with iTunes 7.2 using Windows Vista x64
It worked fine in Windows XP!
I use a Sony DRU-810A with latest 1.0f firmware.
Please fix this Apple this is annoying, it worked in XP!Im getting disc burner not found or burning software not found with iTunes 7.2 using Windows Vista x64
the x64 thing may be the key to this.
check your DVD/CD diagnostics. (in iTunes, go "help > run diagnostics" and select DVD/CD diagnostics.) do you see error 2380 showing up next to the CD or DVD drives in the diagnostics?
if so, try reinstalling the 64-bit version of the GEAR drivers that iTunes uses for importing and burning. the GEAR drivers are available from the following page. (note that there are two different versions of the 64-bit drivers, so be sure to get the version that matches your hardware):

ITunes Burning Error 4200 - Windows XP
I recently purchased an HPa1130n running iTunes 4.9. It was working fine up until a week ago when I started getting errors that say "cancelling burn... unknown error 4200". I have read a few posts in this forum and would like for someone to help me get my system back up and burning. I've done the obvious (slowing the speed, trying different disks, etc). I've also checked my DMA settings to ensure that they are correct. From what I have read so far, I think iTunes is having trouble communicating with my CD Burner.

(2) New software added
I recently installed NERO then updated to 6.6 trial. I suspect that this has something to do with it as the last time i burned a CD sucessfully was a day before I installed/updated NERO.
(3) I tried to alternatively burn in windows media player and was also unsucessful.
(4) I see a ton of 7 or 8 events ranging from 100, 101, 102, 103 that are related to database engines but nothing related to iTunes. I see two ACEEventLogs from today:
0000000001: 2005-09-03 12:40:07:203 Systemtray cannot start - ACE Runtime not detected
Error Called by: ATI.ACE.CLI.EXE.CLI::Main processID:00348 threadID:(CLISystemtray ) domainName:(CLI.exe ) assemblyName:(CLI, Version=1.2.2006.283, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=90ba9c70f846762e)
(5) It just got worse. I attempted to burn another disk and now I don't even get the error. When prompted to insert a blank disk and after clicking the burn icon, the top grey screen just blinks "checking media" a bunch of times then it times out. I don't even get to the "preparing to write" stage.
Thanks again!

Using Premier Elements10 with Windows8.1, the program cannot detect a burner. I understand that Windows8 designates the burner as a DVD in order to facilitate drag and drop. I don't want to get too technical and want to know if purchasing an external USB disc burner will solve the problem. Will premier elements be able to detect this burner OK. I don't want to spend the money unless I am fairly certain that it will work.

There is no guarantee that you will not get a blank field for Premiere Elements Burner Location using any internal or external Blu-ray DVD CD burner or DVD CD burner.
If you go with an USB external burner, just make sure you have the back up of return/money back from the seller.
If you are dealing with just a DVD CD burner, you might try the following if you have not already
http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/cd-dvd-drive-recognized-application.html
You might also want to consider an uninstall/reinstall of Premiere Elements 10 on Windows 8.1 64 bit following the scheme of
a. uninstall the usual Control Panel route
b. free ccleaner run through CCleaner - Download
c. reinstall with antivirus and firewall(s) disabled
The following is the Adobe document that goes to Supported Devices
http://helpx.adobe.com/premiere-elements/kb/supported-devices-premiere-elements.html
Updating on that unknown. Right now, it is what it is. I have burners that work fine in Premiere Elements on
Windows 7 and 8.1 64 bit and they are not on the list.
Please let us know if any questions on the above or need clarification.
Thank you.

I want to "burn" a .dmg (windows 7 file) to a bootable usb stick
I have a late 2008 Macbook Pro and the superdrive doesn't read or write any disks (a common problem with this type of syperdrive)
I want to install the dvd with Windows 7 on my Mac and of course i can't because of my superdrive problem.
I have converted the dvd to a .dmg file so that I can make a bootable usb stick.
But I can't "burn" the .dmg image to a usb. I've tried many ways to copy it but unsuccessful.
Can someone please help me?Welcome to Apple Communities
If you use Lion, you can use Windows 7 Home Premium, Professional or Ultimate, 32 or 64 bit. You can't upgrade to a 64 bit Windows from a 32 bit, and to downgrade (Ultimate to Home Premium) -
My new MacBook Pro won't recognize contents of photo and MP3 DVDs burned on a Windows PC.
When I insert a data disc burned on my PC (Windows Vista), my Mac says that the DVD is blank. This is not true. I have tried numerous DVD-Rs which contain mainly photos and MP3s. They all work in my PS3, but not my Mac.
I have hundreds of gig in both photos and music that I really want to transfer to my new Mac. Any suggenstions?
Thank you in advance! The two most common causes of this behavior are:
1. The session wasn't closed after burning.
2. The disk wasn't closed after burning.
So, try again & properly close the session. -

Burn DVD using Windows DVD Creator
I'm using Premiere Pro CC 2014 in a Windows 7 environment.
DVD authoring is very much an exception for me but I find I need to do so on a project I finished last night. The Help files are full of needing Encore (which is no longer developed) to handle this but, reading the instructions, it seems I'd have to install Pr CS6 to do this.
So...a few questions before I spend an hour (rubbish Aussie ADSL speeds) downloading something I may not need, is it possible to use Windows DVD Maker (or, at a pinch, DVDStyler) to handle this and, if so, what export settings do I need in AME?
FYI, I've tried using the MPEG-DVD preset with PCM Audio and I thought it had worked--but my 12 minute project stopped after just over 8 minutes and there was no audio. I also tried compressing the audio to MPEG in AME with similar results. DVDStyler seems to read the AME-generated .m2v file as wave so I've not even attempted a burn.
Another question: if I do have to go the CS6/Encore route, will my CC 2014 project file open there or do I have to do some kind of conversion?
Any advice on the best way to do this would be very much appreciated! I'm sure I'm missing something and this shouldn't be this difficult.Okay, playing around I found my own solution which I'll post in case anybody else wants to burn DVDs without installing CS6/Encore.
I found a bit of software called DVD Flick (free under a Creative Common licence) that can author DVDs from a wide variety of source material--I happened to use a version done in AME on the Youtube HD (1080) preset and it worked well--good quality, the instructions were clear and concise, and the encoding was relatively fast (about 1 minute per minute of video). If I need to burn any more DVDs in the future (not so likely but who knows) I may have a play with other AME settings but, for now, I'm happy and can recommend DVD Flick over keeping CS6/Encore just for the occasional DVD. -
Can't see .iso file on a DVD Burned using a windows pc.
A friend burned me a dvd using windows. When I open it on my mac I can't see anything. When I use VMware and windoze 98 I see a .iso file. Is there any way I can make my Tiger see this file. I can copy the file from VMware to my desktop and watch the movie via dvd player but I am low on drive space and don't want to leave this image on there as it is 4.33GB. I would love to be able to just pop in the dvd. watch it then eject it. Any help would be great.
Sorry, this is not a "Vista in a nutshell" or "Windows for beginners" forum, it's about "Windows compatibility (of Mac hardware and/or with Mac OS X)". Please seek out for help on Windows forums or ask a friend with more knowledge of Windows Vista.

Burning download of Windows 7 64 bit to disk
I've downloaded Windows 7 64 bit to my computer, but when I try to burn it to a disk it says I need a bigger disk...what size disk should I have??
