Burning photo to disk with PSE 4.0 on Mac. How is it done???

I am trying to burn a photo to cd/disk using Photoshop Elements 4.0.1 using a Macintosh computer. I can't find "organizer" in the program, I think you can do it from there?? Nowhere does it say burn to disk. I'm new to this and would appreciate any help, thanks.

There is no organizer in the mac version of PSE. You could try using bridge (offhand I can't remember if there's a burn command in that version of bridge), but you can also just stick a disc in the drive, drag your photos to it in a finder window sidebar or just on the desktop, then go to File>Burn disc in the finder.

  • Burning photos to disk in OSX 10.9.2

Hi I have recenty had difficulty burning photos to disk. Not everyone wants Dropbox or Cloud solutions! I checked on this forum and found no answers that worked with OSX 10.9.2. This version of the OS appears geared to cloud facebook and email sharing. So here's what I found works...
    Insert blank CD or DVD
Open Finder which will show Untitled Disk which awaits your chosen content, to be burned
    open i Photo
select files/photos you wish to burn
from "File" drop down menuclick on "reveal in Finder" - that is the crucial step
Drag these on to "untitled dvd" in finder window
Click on "Burn" in Finder window
if it asks you to insert blank Disk, eject disk and reinsert
    It works for me!

  • Problem burning photos to disk

iPhoto won't burn photos to disk. says disk i erased is full. do i need to format disk, or what?

What do you wnat to do? the share ==> burn command in iPhoto creates a mini iPhoto library - for just the photos for use other than with iPhoto select the photo(s) and export (file menu ==> export) to a desktop folder - right click on the folder and burn to disk
As to erasing the disk - try a new, fresh one - for specific question on how your optical drive works ask in the hardware forum for it or for your computer if it is built in

Syncing to a new computer should give you the opportunity to replace the exisiting contents with the new.

  • Transfered photos from IMac with Iphoto 9 to a mac book with Iphoto 11 now Iphoto 09 errors out saying "You can't open your current photo library using this version of iPhoto."

Transfered photos from IMac with Iphoto 9 to a mac book with Iphoto 11 now Iphoto 09 errors out saying "You can’t open your current photo library using this version of iPhoto. You have made changes to your photo library using a newer version of iPhoto. Please quit and use the latest version of iPhoto."  We have not updated or changed anything on the IMac all we did is transfer photos. Any help would be appreciated.

LarryHN is correct. The only way this message occurs is if the iPhoto Library database is upgraded to a newer version.
You could try holding SHIFT-OPT-COMMAND when launching iPhoto from the dock and checking only "Rebuild the iPhoto Library Database from automatic backup" and hope it restores the previous database prior to the upgrade.
If that doesn't work, you can install iPhoto '11 on your iPhoto '09 computer. If I understood the iPhoto '11 Mac App License agreeement correctly, you can install it on any personal, non-commerical computer you own running 10.5, 10.6 and 10.7.

  • MY system folder, including hidden folders are littered with duplicate folders and files with the suffix (from old Mac) How do I remove them

I have a Macbook Pro running Leopard 10.5.8. I had a problem with my my operating system (my fault, I moved a file I shoudnt have) couldnt boot up but was able to boot up from a backup. I managed to repair my original system except now all the system folders, including hidden folders are littered with duplicate folders and files with the suffix (from old Mac).  For the most part the dupes are an exact copy, but not always.  I want to remove them to free up space and cant imagine duplicate folders in the /system/library are not hindering my computer. But I dont know where to start and am afraid of doing irreparable damage. Any ideas

  • Burning Photos to Disk

When I save my photos to a CD for storage, I usually drag the iphoto file folders to the CD. When I check the CD, the folders are gone, as well as the photo names. They are in a simple list, with the IMG.JPG designation. It is a huge amount of trouble to rename all the photos and create the folders before burning the disk for good. Am I doing something wrong?
Also, when I hit "burn" at the bottom of the iphoto screen, nothing happens. I have to click on the CD icon, then right click, then "burn CD". What is the point of the "burn" button in iphoto?

Hi, Rich. The "Burn" icon in iPhoto is for burning CDs directly from iPhoto. Doing so creates an iPhoto Library on the CD which, when opened in iPhoto on the same or a diferent computer, will contain all the same information about those photos that was in the original iPhoto Library, even though most of that libriry's contents may not appear on the CD. The drawback of this method is that if you give the CD to someone who has a Windows PC or a Mac on which iPhoto isn't installed, they won't get any benefit from the work iPhoto has done to organize and store data about the pictures, and they'll probably have a hard time even locating the pictures.
When you burn a CD in the manner you describe, you're not using iPhoto, nor are you including any of the information that iPhoto has stored about your pictures. This method has no advantages at all, and you even run the risk of corrupting your original iPhoto Library, if you accidentally move something out of it instead of copying it.
A method that you may find preferable, especially if you want to share pictures with Windows PC users, is to Export the pictures for the CD to a folder on the desktop of your Mac, after selecting the options you want in iPhoto's Export dialog box. Then insert a blank CD, drag the folder full of images onto the CD's icon, and choose Burn Disk from the contextual menu that appears when you Control-Click the disc icon. The Export options allow you to give the exported images the titles you've assigned them in iPHoto, among other options.

  • Burning blu-ray disks with Archgon

I have a HD camcorder and create home movies of my daugher with FCP X. I have an iMac (late 2012 model I think).  I recently purchased the Sea Tech Archgon blu-ray writer super drive with the intent of buring blu-ray disks for the grandparents.  The instruction manual for the blu-ray player states "Please purchase and download appropriate blu-ray playback software for Mac OS".  My questions are:
    1) When I plug in the drive, no icon appears on the desktop.  There is power to the unit because it allows me to open and put a disk in.
    2) Do I need to purchase Mac Blu-Ray player just for the iMac to see the drive before I can burn any blu-ray disks?
    3) I don't intend to use the drive to watch any blu-ray movies.  This is strictly for making blu-ray disks that can be popped into a regular blu-ray player so the grandparents and other relatives can enjoy the home movies.
    4) Is FCP X an appropriate software, which I already have on my computer?  It allows me to create DVD directly from FCP X, but when I tried to do it from FCP X, this drive does not come up as an option.
    5) I also have Titanium Toast and purchased the blu-ray upgrade.  Then I save the file from FCP as a master on the computer and attempted to burn the blu-ray using Toast.  Again, this drive does not come up as an option.

    1. Any external burner will only become recognized once you insert media. If you plug it into the Mac and launch Toast, it should show at the bottom of the Toast window. You can choose it and control the drive with Toast - open tray, close tray, insert DVD, etc.
    2. No.
    4. Not sure re. blu-ray, but try to export it as a .mov or Video_TS folder, then drag either into the Toast window. That is how I proceed using iMovie and/or iDVD. (I only use FCE for special effects/layered intros, etc., export at best quality settings, then use those with iMovie and/or iDVD). You do need software (Toast is best because of the blu-ray plugin) to burn to DVD.
    5. Again, the drive should show up at the bottom - see screenshot (mine is only showing my internal Superdrive; once I attach my external burner, both will show up):

  • Saving photo to disk with names

Hi I have named my photos in iphoto, now I want to copy to Cd. I am unable to copy with the names I wrote under them. It saves them with the original number from the camera. Is there anyway to save them with my names. I don't feel like doing all the work of renaming them on Cd.
Thanks for any help you can give.
    Louise

    Welcome to the Apple Discussions.
Select the pics in the iPhoto Window and go File -> Export. In the resulting window set the KInd: to jpage and check the box at titles and keywords. Then complete the export to the desktop. Burn them to CD using the Finder's File -> Burn command.

  • Want to burn photos onto disk

Hi - I've never done this on a mac before. I have the hardest time adjusting to this mac world, they always say drag and drop but I get into so much trouble when I try it. For instance I thought I could drag an events folder on to the desktop and then plop it onto the CD. Well, the CD is not showing up anywhere (yes, it's in the computer). So now I'm trying to drag the photos to my trash can but it will only let me do one photo at a time and I have 100 photos!
Now onto my original question, I need to burn a cd to be used on a windows computer and from the help menu they said to go to the finder, find the library and share/burn . Can't find anything from the finder.

I need to burn a cd to be used on a windows computer
Select the pics in the iPhoto Window and go File -> Export
Export them to a Folder on the Desktop
Insert a Blank CD into your Mac
Not showing on the Desktop? Then in the FInder Menu -> Preferences: General "SHow These Items on the Destop" and make sure CD's are checked.
Drag the Folder of Images to the Blank CD
    FIle -> Burn.

  • Burn a mp3 disk with acc files

I have a library full of ACC (mp4) files. In the old days I have chosen mp3 as my iTunes format but seduced by soundquality/filesize I converted all my CDs to ACC again.
Now...i recently bought a mp3 capable cd player for the car. In the old days I could just choose a playlist up to 700mb and burn it to a cd. Is there an easy way (automator, applescript, toast) to burn a ACC file playlist into a mp3 CD without manually converting acc->mp3 and then deleting duplicates after etc. etc......
    I have Toast 7.
thank you in advance for tips.
    pierre

iTunes > Preferences > Advanced > Importing > change "Import using" to mp3 encoder, and if required change the bitrate etc, in the "Setting" menu.
Now, in the main library window, select and ctrl-click on the track(s) you want to convert and you will see a "Covert selection to mp3" option.
The "Convert selection to ...." option will change depending on what format you have selected to import files as.
A warning though: AAC files converted to mp3s probably won't sound very nice!

  • Needing help with PSE 6.0 on Mac

    Hi guys!
around a year ago, I bought PSE EIGHT. I found out my computer is to old for it, so it's sitting on my shelf looking lonely. So, I bought PSE 6.0 for 20 dollars from some awesome guy on Craigslist.
IT REALLY ROCKS!!!!!! I've had pse 6 for about 4 months, do a LOT of photography and editing. After a month, I finally succeeded in installing Actions... or I installed one action.
Does anybody on here do actions? What are some good free actions?
Also, can anybody give me a bunch of links to helpful video tutorials on basic editing, and advanced editing? Thanks!!

Go to Adobe Exchange. You will find thousands of actions, many free and some that work with elements.

  • Memory use with PSE 11 on my Mac

My iMac has 12 GB of RAM - but when I go to preferences on my Photoshop Elements version 11,  I can only get PSE 11 to use about 3 GB of RAM.
I am doing some photomerge panoramas, and when I want to fill in the blank borders of the final image, PSE tells me that there is not enough RAM to perform the task.
How can I get PSE to use more RAM on my Intel iMac ?

PSE is a 32 bit application, which means that 3 GB is all the ram it can ever use. You can increase it a bit in editor>preferences>performance, but don't push it all the way to 100. Stop at around 90% for best results. It also helps if you have plenty of free disk space for PSE to use for a scratch disk.
