Burning pictures to CD

I used to be able to burn a CD a few pictures at a time till it was full. I have tried CD-R AND CD-RW and now it says "This Disc Does Not allow any more burns, please put in a blank CD"
what happened? I used a CD-RW disc, and it still doesn't allow more burns. There are only a few pictures on it, not anywhere near the 700 MB it says the disc holds. Thank you for any ideas..it's a pain to try to figure out how many that will fit on the CD to fill it. Just a lot easier to put them on a few at a time as I take the pictures. I don't want a million CD's with only a few pictures on them LOL

When you burn a CD with iPhoto you get a mini iPhoto Library on the disk designed for other iPhoto users. This can be confusing for folks with Windows machines who cannot find the actual photos or the correct versions if them in the resulting folder tree. So, to keep it simple, if you're sending to folks on Windows it's best to export the pics and burn them with the Finder or another app.
I'm not sure about the Finder "closing" a CD, but iPhoto has no extra ability in this area. I'd ask that one on the Using Mac OS X forum.

  • Burn pictures to dvd

Trying to Burn Pictures to a DVD.  Exported selected photos from Aperture to my Desktop.  Inserted blank DVD-RW into disk drive which prompted me to open Disk Utility which I did.  When asked to select images to burn from disk utility, I selected the correct folder from my desktop, but the images are all gray scaled out so I cannot select them.
    Any suggestions

Click on the desktop so Finder is active. Click File in the menu bar and select New Burn Folder from the drop down list. This creates a folder on the desktop. You can change its name if you wish. Drag and drop the photos to the Burn Folder. Go back to the File menu and select Burn (the name you gave it) to Disc...
Follow the directions on the screen.
The photos are not actually moved to the Burn Folder, they are aliases. So at the end of the burn you just trash the Burn Folder.

  • Can't burn pictures to dvd

I keep getting error messages when I attempt to burn pictures to a DVD-R.   I have seen communications errors and also "laser not aligned"

I would suggest testing with a different brand of DVDs as some of them are not very good.
If that doesn't do it, you are probably looking at hardware service. Contact Apple using www.apple.com/support/contact if you are in a country that supports it or call the appropriate phone number on this page. Alternatively carry the iMac in to an Apple retail store or service provider to ask for an estimate.

when burning pictures to a disc why won't they burn in order, they are being viewed randomly ?

    What order?
Most likely it's the order on the Disk, not the Name, or other way shown.
In Column View>View>View Options, here's the same folder shown Sort by 2 different ways...
    Name...

  • When I burn pictures to a disc why do they duplicate?

Whenever I burn pictures to a disc for some reason they duplicate. There will be two, three, four and sometimes even five copies of each picture or folder of pictures. What can I do to prevent this from happening. I would like to burn only one copy of each picture on the disc.

How are you burning these images to your disc? Are you creating a burn folder? See this Apple Support Article. The instructions for OS X Mountain Lion are the same as the ones for OS X Mavericks.

how do I burn pictures from my albums to a CD

    Depends
If you want to use them in iPhoto then selet them and use the burn command which makes a mini iPhoto library and keeps all of the metadata
If you want a cd for general use then select the photos and export to a desktop folder and then burn that folder

  • How do you burn pictures onto a dvd?

Hello. I need some help. I been working on trying to burn pictures onto a dvd but still have the pictures in order from at least oldest to newest. I know how to burn pictures I just don't know how to keep them in order still. I have over 7000 pictures on iphoto (i kept dreading saving them lol) and I need to get them to a dvd. I was thinking on making different albums then saving them that way but that's such a hassle. I would rather have just the pictures. Any advice would really much be appreciated!

Welcome to the Apple user to user discussion forums
    Files is Files
THe order they are displayed in is determined by the sort order specified in the file viewer you are using and is totally independent of how they are recorded on the DVD
For example if you are using the finder you can go to the view menu ==> show options and select from a number of sort options (they depend on the view you have) which included date created and date modified -- note that a file viewer is only looking at file dates - it has no knowledge of photo dates which are recorded in the EXIF data within the photo

  • Ken Burn pictures look really low quality

Putting high quality pictures into movie and when I ad ken Burns affect they look very low quality as the effect is in process. Do I need to add a lower quality pic? Any suggestions would be very much appreciated.
    Keith

they look very low quality as the effect is in process.
    usual advice:
never judge pic quality within iM (lowered preview quality) nor on a computer either.. (iM is for TV delivery.. iM≤6 ... )

  • Burning pictures from EMAC to be used in Windows

I tranferred pictures from my digital camera onto an EMAC. After several tries at trying to export the pictures to Finder, changing the format of the pictures to be Windows compatible and tranfering them to a CD for burning, only 1/4 of the pictures burned sucessfully. When I go back and try to look at the pictures on the CD, all the files are there but are listed as having 0 bytes. I'm not sure what i am doing wrong.

    First welcome to the discussions.
I have found that most programs generate .jpg formated pictures, however when you place them on a cd it is a good idea to rename each picture.
    Example:
    kid.jpg
    dog.jpg
    cat.jpg
Using all lower case followed by .jpg this allows Windows programs as well as Mac iPhoto, Preview to recognise the JPEG format.
In some rare cases I have also found it neccesary depending on how these images were generated to use a Photo Program to re-format them to JPEG.
Create a Folder and after you have re-named your photo's with the .jpg all lower case you place them in that folder.
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=303599
    Use good quality Media,
You will also find that using one of Roxio's Software's will make your burning expieriance much easier.

  • BURNING PICTURES ON BLANK DVD: mission impossible

i've been trying to burn some pictures as backup on dvd's, but unable to do it.
anyone can help me with this? i always get the message "insert blank disk to begin." and the disk is a new blank SONY dvd.
    thanks in advance,
    [email protected]

Okay, You have a Superdrive. When you insert a blank dvd, does your MacBook reconize it? DiskUtility should be able to see it and show you the available space. The next question is how are you burning the Photos? Are they in a folder?
    Are you using an Application?
    Hear from you soon,

  • I would like to burn pictures to a disk in a certain order, not according to file numbers -is this possible?

Im using IPhoto and would like to burn an album to a DVD. In the album, I have put the pictures in the order I want them.  But it appears when I export them to burn on a DVD, they go in numerical order.  Is there a way to burn the album with the pictures in the order I want them to be in?

    No.
Files don't have an order. They're just on the disk. The FInder can view them in a number of ways: sorted by name, date, size etc, but that's all. The only way to reliably get them to show in a preferred order is to name them... Pic_01.jpg, Pic_02.jpeg etc.
    Fast way to do this:
Create an Album in iPhoto, drag the images you want to the album and arrange them as you prefer.
Then select all and go Photos -> Batch Change
Set the Title to... Text, and add, well whatever is appropriate.
Check the box to append a number to each photo.
So now they are all there in order as Text 01, Text 02 etc.
Now Export them. File -> Export
In the export dialogue there are a number of options that you can read about here:
    https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-4921
But from the point fo view of naming, in the export dialogue choose to use the Title.
Complete the export to a folder on the desktop.
Now you have a folder of files called Text01, Text 02 and so on.
    Burn that to disk.
