Burning problem: even after no delay between tracks, still get a noise
I want to burn a CD with no delay between tracks. I have selected 0 seconds in the Burning preferences as the delay. It works except that there is a short "blip" stutter sound at the start of every track...how can I get rid of this?
Like if the speech track is in the middle of the word, the sentence will sound like "Four score and Sev[blip]ven years ago..."
You may be visiting a web site that has been infected or is hosting malware.<br />
You should never respond unrequested pop-ups that try to persuade you to download and install software.<br />
Doing that is the way to get malware because no decent company would use such methods to inform you about that.<br />
You only saw an animation and not a real scan.<br />

I initial received the msg that Firefox is still running in the background and won't open. I check the Task Mgr and Firefox was not running. My storage is only 50% utilized. [email protected]Try to rename the cert8.db file in the Firefox profile folder to cert8.db.old or delete the cert8.db file to remove intermediate certificates that Firefox has stored.
If that helped to solve the problem then you can remove the renamed cert8.db.old file.
Otherwise you can rename (or copy) the cert8.db.old file to cert8.db to restore the previous intermediate certificates.
Firefox will automatically store intermediate certificates when you visit websites that send such a certificate.
If that didn't help then remove or rename secmod.db (secmod.db.old) as well.

My iPad indicates that it is disabled. When I try to backup from my PC, it tells me to disable FindMyPhone. I removed the device from FindMyPhone (couldn't see how to turn it off in iCloud) but, when I return to iTunes, it continues to tell me to turnoff FindMyPhone. I've verified the iPad isn't showing on FindMyPhone anymore. What do I do to get into my iPad? Please help!

I have recorded a vocal track, but have no playback sound. The meter shows it's there, but no sound even after un-muting the track. I'm using Garage Band 10.0.2/Mac Mini ~Thanks
Check the output settings in GarageBand's preferences > Audio/Midi pane.
And in the System Preferences > Sound panel.
Also check the settings in Audio Midi Setup Utility. -
I was using firefox 5.0.1 & it was crashing frequently.I removed the installation & tried to reinstall.I getting a window asking for adminstrator password.Even after entering password,firefox was not getting installed
Sorry you are having problems. First of all try Fifrefox's safemode.

I was saving a document when it originally quit. so "locked" file appeared in directory as well as reg file.
Upon restart of InDesign, recovery failed and software quit again.
Restarted computer, then indesign, file opens but as soon as I select "recover" it sends a message that indesign needs to close.
I cannot seem to get out of this cycle. Help.Use your operating system’s Search utility to find a folder called (InDesign Recovery) and delete it.

Inserting a short delay between tracks at some places when playing
I have a lot of classical music on iTunes, copied from my CD's. In a few places, two successive tracks play with no delay between them: this is very disturbing. How can I add a short delay (a few seconds) between the sounds from two successive tracks ? I am using iTunes 7.0.1, but I noticed the problem already with 6.0.5 and with 7.0 (as far as I remember)

You might want to look in the iTunes preferences and select the
playback tab . I have ixnaid the Crossfade Playback selection and
albums now play as I remember them from the vinyl LP days .
You might try that . When I read the suggestion rooted in my own
dissatisfaction in "heel toeing" I recall it took a few days
before I was satisfied it had eliminated the stacked play .

Even after resetting apple id password still won't activate my phone

But when i sign in my icloud account on the activation lock, it still won't accept it. Even if i tried resetting my password. I believe that i use the right icloud account but still it won't activate it. I tried locating my device on find my iphone and the device was not there, does it mean my device has already been erased?(i resetted all content and settings) but why does it still have an activation lock after reset? Even after upgrading to testing/xorg I get slow glxgears
My glxgears is stuck at 286 even after upgrading my xorg to the version in testing. I have a i915 chipset and was getting > 1000fps using Ubuntu breezy colony 1. Should I post my xorg.conf file or is there something obvious I may be missing as to why my frame rate is so bad?

Big iMac problems, even after full reinstall
I am so frustrated!
A week or so ago I had my Mac taken in for repair through Applecare for a display issue. In replacing the LCD the repair teams informed me there was a problem with the hard drive fan, and that they had replaced this too.
Background
When I received my repaired iMac back and powered it on, it wouldn't load past the initial grey screen/spinning gear. I tried absolutely everything I could think of or find online:
- Resetting the PRAM
- Performing a SMC reset
- Booting into single user mode and running fsck
In doing this I identified numerous little niggles and decided a clean install would be necessary. I found it was near impossible to boot from the iMac's restore disks (Snow Leopard 10.6.2), because it kept ejecting the disk on boot. Eventually, after about 4 hours I managed to get the disk to stay in the drive (not sure how) and boot from it. From selecting the install DVD from the boot launcher I had to wait about 10 minutes to see the installer. From then, it worked as expected and at the speed it always did work at.
From there, in Disk Utility I performmed Permission and Disk verifications and repairs, then erased the hard drive (I have a backup) and installed again from scratch. This install did not succeed - an error was thrown up about not being able to copy over support files or something and it demanded I restarted and tried again. This time, it worked and installed in 20 minutes or so.
I performed full software updates and am in the process of re-downloading Lion.
Current issues
The issue I'm experiencing now involves the length of time it is taking to boot the Mac. It takes between 10 and 20 minutes to get to the desktop, but once it does, performance is completely normal.
The second issue is that the computer is still spitting out DVDs. I am unable to get either the install disk or the applications disk with iLife on it to stay in the drive. I haven't tested this with other CDs/DVDs but it's certainly not working with these two. When I insert a disk, it spins for a while before giving up and spitting the disk back out.
Questions
1) Do these issues strike people as being hardware or software faults?
2) Are there any diagnostics/troubleshooting steps I can take before sending the Mac off for repair again or is it simply a matter of replacing faulty components?

Reading through your list of woes you might try one thing to improve the start-up time, although 10-20mins is an exceptionally long time. Some users on here have reported startup times in the 5mins region and doing the following has often helped: System Preferences>Startup Disk and click on 'Macintosh HD, Mac OS X 10.6.8' and then click on restart.
