Burning problems with PSE7

Hallo!
I use PSE 7. Wen i tryed to burn my first film, i get following message:
interner Softwarefehler:.\Vobulator\BlockPlanner\BlockPlaner.ppc, Zeile 215
The message comes wen burning on DVD also wen burning into a folder.
I also turned off firewall, etc. Can anybody help me, what i can do here?

Problems with PSE7 and PRE7

I have been having several problems with these products. By way of background I have used both PSE and PRE for many years and never encountered similar issues in the past.
1-When I create a slide show in PSE and include a video it is imported at the default duration of a slide. For example if the default duration for a slide is 3 seconds, the video is imported at the same 3 seconds regardless of the actual length of the video. Once the video is included in the slide show the duration cannot be modifed. I can't delete the video and than re-import - the same problem persists. A work around (that I discovered upon reading the forums) is to import the video directly from a file (not the organizer) and it comes in at the appropriate duration. This is a very cumbersome solution because you have to go to the organizer, get the name and location of the file and than import.
2-The links between PSE and PRE seem to be broken. I can't export the slides and video to PRE and than create the slide show in PRE.
3-When I finally completed the slide show using the work around described earlier, I attempted to Share the slide show as a DVD. The movie file is created appropriately but when PRE starts it gives me a message that the PSE organizer is busy and halts.
Has anyone encountered similar problems. I have been on hold with Tech Support (India) for over an hour.

Burn Problem with a 4GB project: "Layer 0 Exceeds"

First off this is not the usual Dual-Layer problem. I know all about Layers how they work and how to make them. Although the error I receive deals with DL my projects or nowhere near that size.
I recently had DVDSP 4 crash on me. Ever since than its been running really funny. The biggest issue I am having is that it won't allow me to burn a DVD 5. My projects usually range from 2.5GB - 4.5GB. Let me also say that DVDSP 4's Disc meter has always been a pretty good gauge as far as I am concerned. It's always been right on telling me if something was going to fit on a DVD 5 or 9.
My problem ever since the crash is that DVDSP will not allow me to burn a DVD unless the project is under 3.5GB. I have tried everything, including a Full Re-install of DVDSP. Every time I try to burn a DVD I get the following error message:
+"Formatting was not successful. Layer 0 exceeds the maximum layer size allowed. Please choose a suitable marker location that will support this condition."+
My latest project is dealing with a 4.4Gb (according to Meter) 4.32GB actually. It is impossible for me to burn a DVD because of the error message above. I can however run the project out on a Single DLT. How does that work?
Has anyone else had a problem like this? Does anyone have an suggestions?
I have checked all the obvious settings in DVDSP and all seem to be right. I can't figure this one out.

I've never had a problem burning a 4.4 disc on a DVD 5 until now. I actually went back to some of my previous project that were a DVD-5 and I am unable to burn those now too. Everything really got screwed up on that last Crash.
Yes. I am using AC3 audio.
I have not yet tried burning my DVD project through another program...but thats a good idea.
I usually burn a DVD and DLT for the replicators...but I know they prefer a DLT. What I find odd about all of this is that I am able to run out a DLT with no errors at all. It only seems to be on the DVD side.
In regards to the uninstall...I used the exact program. I am actually in the process of doing a full reinstall of FCP2 Suite.

DVD Burner problem with P965 Platinum

I have had on going issue with my DVD burner. When i try to play or esp burn a DVD the whole PC slows down and i am unable to open or run any other applications. The Burner is connected via IDE cable and i have tried 2 other DVD Burners with all the same result. When i play a DVD the picture jitters and when i burn a DVD the burn rate is about 10 x slower than my other PC. It comes across as if there is a data transfer problem, not sure though.
Could this be a bios issue or maybe a faulty IDE port on the MOB ???

I would also like to add that, this fix has also fixed my Lan input port. I built this PC about 3 weeks ago and from day one the Lan connection would come up with that "Limited or no connectivity" issue. So I thought it was a faulty Lan port so I went and bought a PCI Lan card to fix that issue.
But as soon as i applied this fix, I noticed the network connection popped up so I tried it out and the damn thing now works.

Burn problems with audio encoding

I have a 1hr 40 min movie that I've converted to QT and put into iMovie. I then put in several songs at different places and rendered and burned it. After burning a few more copies, it unexpectedly froze while something about "encoding audio" was in the window. This is curious b/c the rendering process had already taken place.
Went back in, re-loaded all the songs, re-rendered the movie and burned one copy. At the end of this burn, it ejected the disc, then froze with a message like "finishing copying" or something like that, and wouldn't make any more copies.
When I open the iDVD project again, it now will process the menus, but as soon as it gets to processing the movie, it freezes and indicates it's trying to render the audio.
Anybody have any clues? I'm beginning to think it's a hardware issue, maybe my logic board?

The problem is in making multiple copies once all the rendering has been done and it's just in burn mode.
Create a disk image and burn from that.

This will isolate any encoding/burning issues you may encounter. Once the disc image is created, double-click the .img and burn the virtual disc that should appear on your desktop, using Toast to burn the DVD. Disk Utility to burn the .img file. Usually, you can select a burning speed in Disk Utility.
There are variations to this process based on which OS X you are using...
Open Disk Utility (in Utilities folder in Applications folder), click on the virtual disc (maybe the .img) in the left-hand window. Click the Burn icon. A new window should drop down and your SuperDrive tray will open after clicking the Burn icon. Insert a recordable DVD. (Verbatim DVD-R preferred by me.) Click the Close button. Wait. Select a burn speed. If you hold your mouse cursor over the pop-up it says: "Select a slower speed to work around burn failures," so select 4x or slower for best results. Then click the Burn button.
-->If the virtual disk selection won't allow you to click the Burn icon, use the .img file instead. This may have changed in 10.3.9 and did change in Tiger.
Also, you can use DVD Player to play the virtual disk to check your iDVD project before burning to DVD. Launch DVD Player. File/Open VIDEO_TS (Open DVD Media... in Player 4.6). Find the VIDEO_TS folder and open that. (The audio folder is for DVD-Audio disks.)

A lot of burning problems with ITunes 6.. Where Can I Get ITunes 4 back?

Few weeks ago I've installed ITunes 6 on my new pc.
At this point of time I could burn CDs, but the soundcheck didn't work. I've inserted a blanc disc and selected the playlist. But then the Burn- Button didn't get yellow. So I clicked on it and the CD was directly burned without aligning the volumes of the songs..
The second problem occured today. I've reinstalled iTunes 6 and now the message 'disc recorder not found' appears each time, when I wanna burn a disc.
What does It Mean?
Is It possible to switch back to iTunes 4. There I hadn't any problems..

BURN PROBLEM WITH IPHOTO:

When I manually sort one of my albums and then burn a disc, the results never come out right. In other words, the sort never took place and the disc shows the original album.

I'm not quite there yet, but I think I am close. I was able to set up a new album, get the images manually sorted with a name, and now they all appear with numbers in order to my preferences.
Then I went to FILE>EXPORT dialogue box and selected USE TITLE.
Is there anything else that I should do within that box before I select EXPORT? Should the format be set to JPEG instead of original?
Your instructions then say: Sort on Filename in the Finder and you end up with a folder full of magest in the same order as the Album in iPHOTO. I'm a bit confused here.

Having a problem with PSE7.0

I've had it for quite awhile and this is the first problem I've had with it...just recently, about 30 minutes ago to be precise lol, it started acting funny. The effects won't load and it shuts down. I've reset the preferences twice, restarted my PC but it still won't work right. I'm not sure how to find my video drivers and such either.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Burning problems with Toshiba A505-S6972

Lately I've been havint troubles burning Dual Layer discs..
mostly it's around 50%, but sometimes it stops at 5% or 10%.
I know it's not the file, because sometimes it cán burn the same imago to a disc..
I use the newest Imgburn application to burn my ISO-files to Verbatim Dual Layer discs,
which should be the highest quality Dual Layers available, so I have heard.
I'll put the screens I get in the Attachments!

PS: I also tried finding a firmware update for the drive, but I couldn't find one at all!

Yes, everything was fine with Firefox. However, I have uninstalled it, and am just using Internet Explorer for now.

Printing problems with PSE7

I've been using this program just fine for a year. I
have not done anything at all to my computer (no new programs, equipment, etc.). All of a sudden today when I go to print anything from PSE7
to either of my printers (HP office jet or Lexmark laser) they get caught in a queue and won't print. The files are only about 2 MB but the file that is trying to print is over 50MB. I uninstalled PSE7 and reinstalled but it didn't help. Since it's doing it on both printers it's got to be something that PSE7 is doing as it's making the files too big to print. Help. I use this for my business and don't know what to do.

Are you trying to print from organizer or editor? Are you saying that the spool size of the file is 50MB? If yes then try to see that resolution in which the printer is trying to print. It may be very high.

Problems with PSE7 painting mode

I am working in Photoshop Elements 7 creating scrapbook pages. It has been working fine, but all of a sudden when I want to use the brush tool, the drop down box for painting mode won't open. Help!!!!

You can try reseting the preferences by pressing Ctrl + Alt + Shift and click PSE editor from welcome screen.
This will ask you to delet preferences, Select Yes.

Problem with duplicate files being created

I'm having a problem with PSE7 copying files from my camera card to my computer.
It will copy over all new jpg files fine but once it gets to the NEF (RAW) files it will not only copy the new files from today but recopy all those NEF files from other days that are already downloaded so that I end up with files like this:
DSC_2200.NEF
DSC_2200-1.NEF
DSC_2200-2.NEF and so on. It's very annoying and I have to repeatedly delete all the duplicate files and this takes up time. I do use the global search function in Windows to delete them but would prefer they don't do this in the first place. They do eat up a lot of space.
I have the settings set to only copy over new files in PSE so why is it copying over older files? Does anyone have any clues?

You can set up a scan when you create a new device in System Preferences:
go to System Preferences --> FCSVR Pref pane --> Devices Pane and then choose create new device ("+" sign and the Device Assistant will appear. You choose the type and then you can set up a Full or Add only Scan here.)
Other option is to set up a Scan via the Administration window in the Java Client:
This is not as easy since there is no Device Assistant.
go to Admin window in Java Client --> Response and then create a new 'Scan' response on the device you want to scan. 'Scan Productions' is something different, maybe you want that instead, I don't know. Depending on how you set it up, it can create a Production in FCSVR catalogue for each folder or subfolder and that media will be scanned and placed into that Production in FCSVR catalogue.
Anyways, once you create the Scan Response, go to Admin pane --> Schedule. Create a new schedule and add the 'Scan' response you just created to the "Response List" section. Don't forget to check "Enabled"...can't tell you how many times I created the response but then forgot to enable it.
Once you scan the assets, they are in the FCSVR catalogue with clip proxies, thumbnails and posterframes. If you have existing FCP projects that use this media, you will want to make sure the media in the FCP project is connected to that same media that was scanned. When you upload the FCP project, it will not dup the assets, just add the FCP project to it, unless you didn't set the EIP device correctly. If you look in Search All Jobs, the only thing that should be generated at this point it Edit Proxies (if you enabled them) and Elements.
Now my question to you is the same as Chris' question here http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=9147105#9147105. How did you set things up so far? What is your workflow? Where is your media?

Is anyone having problems with OS 10.5.7 update?

I have a Tascam US-122 (older unit), and all was fine until the OS 10.5.7 update. Now, I get a signal from my US-122 going in that I can see on the system prefs panel, but no sound coming out of my monitors. ALL other audio devices DO come out of the monitors just fine.
I have looked at every setting possible, and nothing.

I have had no problems until this last OS update, which also included an iTunes update that I have heard folks are having burning problems with.
I can SEE the signal going in (in the sys prefs meters), as well as in LE's meters, but no sound comes out of my monitors. Yet I CAN play songs in iTunes and pre-recorded tracks in LE7 and GB, without problems at all, as well as any other audio from online sources and from the OS, like alerts, etc. It is only audio straight from the US-122 that does not make a sound.
I find it so odd that the OS Sys prefs show a signal, yet no sound is present, while all other apps produce sound as usual.
I have repaired permissions, and have reset SOUND and AUDIO/MIDI setting severals times.
I USED to be able to play guitar through my Vox ToneLab, connected directly to the US-122 into the Mac, whether I was using LE7 or GB or neither. Now I get NOTHING from it at all (aside from the OS meters), no matter what.
I'd suspect a cable if not for the signal in the meters, and the sound from every other audio app, including pre-recorded LE7 & GB stuff.
I have had minor problems in the past, but never anything like this.

Is anyone having problems with i message after newest update?

since i updated my iphone to the newest 5.1 my imessage isnt working properly.. it will sometimes let me imessage certain people and other times not i was wondering if anyone is having the same problem or knows how to fix it. I have the iphone 4s but i am in europe and i am basically using it as an ipod because it doesnt currently have service. This problem is happening when i am connected to wifi so the imessaging should work...
any thoughts?
