Burning speed is too fast even though it's at lowest?

I can't burn cds because i keep getting a message saying that the burning speed is too fast but when i turned it down to the lowest it still won't work someone please help?

Hello belmoo,
I understand your are having "Printer Offline" errors with your HP 4500 after you have installed onto your Mac Book Air over your wireless connection but the USB cable connection works without problem. If you could please provide me with the printers Model Number as the 4500 has several possible printers connected to that series name and your Operating System running on the Mac.
I would like you to start with looking into this document as it covers all the Windows & Mac Operating Systems: 'Printer is offline' Message Displays on the Computer and the Printer Will Not Print.
Please reply back with the information requested if the problem is not resolved.
Thanks,
JERENDS

  • Itunes can't burn this cd because the burn speed is too fast for your cd...

For the first time since upgrading to 10.3.9 I'm trying to burn a data disc from iTunes to backup some files. It fails every time and ruins the blank CD. This is getting expensive!
The CDs are Phillips CD-R 52x. (Yes, I've used blanks from this very box before the 10.3.9 upgrade and it never failed before.) iTunes was set to 24x burn then changed to "maximum possible" for the burn speed.
Most times it looks like it's burning the playlist but around the 5th file it spits it out and gives the error "itunes can't burn this cd because the burn speed is too fast for your cd burner or media". Sometims it just locks up itunes with "checking media" and I have to force quit iTunes. Then the disc is ruined. It won't even show up in Finder.
Ugh. Anyone know how to fix this?

  • ITunes CD Burn error (media too fast)??

I upgraded to the latest iTunes version and now Im getting errors when I try to burn a playlist. I havent burned a cd off this computer in a long time, so Im not sure if it's iTunes. However, the error, if I remember correctly, said iTunes is unable to burn the playlist because the requested speed is too fast for the burner or the media.
I tried slowing my burning speed to 8X, but it still gave me the error.
Any suggestions? Is it time for a new drive? If so, what are my options? I have the blue CRT (500mhz) iMac.
    Thanks

Since my original post, I have been able to burn a cd, but still most of the time get the error. Why would it work sometimes, and not other times?
Im guessing the drive is going. Can it be replaced? Are there upgrades available for the CRT iMacs ?

  • Lion mouse scroll speed scrolling too fast

System Pref > Mouse > Scrolling Speed is set to the slowest level and it is still way too fast!  Heard others complaining about this on a Parallels discussion group and thought I would post here.  Incease the range of scrolling sensitivity in an update please!  Reply to this post if you are having the same issue.
Scrolling was always way to fast in leopard when using Iphoto, but this with Lion it is too fast everywhere else except for huge files.

I suppose you are using a non-Apple mouse. You will need to update the software, and adjust the tracking multiplier within the software.
Logitech just came out with an update for Lion.

  • EXPDP is too slow even though the value of cursor_sharing changed to EXACT.

    Hi
We are having a 10g standarad edition database (10.2.0.4) on Solaris 5 which is RAC with ASM. Infact we are planning to migrate it to LINUX x86-64 and to 11.2.0.3. The database size is around 1.3 TB. We are planning to go with an expdp backup and impdp to new server and new version database.
    SQL> select * from v$version;

As per the plan I started the expdp. But unfortunately the processing of tables even continued for one and half days and the backup didnt started also. After going through few docs I found that the CURSOR_SHARING should be EXACT to make the expdp more faster (Previously it was SIMILAR). So I changed the parameter to EXACT in one of the node and started the backup again yesterday night on the same node where I change the parameter. When today I came back still the processing going on. I checked the job status and found that the table processing is still going. It is not hanged at all. But its too slow.
What could be the reason. Here is the memory details and kernal parameter details.

    Hi,
I'd be looking at doing this in parallel over a database link and completely miss out sending anything to nfs - it will make the whole process quicker (you effectively skip the export part and everything is an import into the new instance).
I ran a 600GB impdp in this way over a db link and it maybe took 12 hours (can't remember exactly) - a lot of that time is index build in the new database so make sure your pga etc is set up correctky for that.
LOB data massively slows down datapump so that could be the issue here also. You should be able to acheive the whole process in less than a day (if you have no lobs...)
    Cheers,
    Harry

  • Prints are too dark even though screen image looks fine

I have an iMac and an HP Photosmart D7360 printer. Lately, every photo I print is too dark. With older versions of iPhoto I was able to adjust the print settings (saturation, brightness, etc) from the print window and save those as a preset so my prints would match what I'm seeing on the monitor. Those settings seem to have disappeared in iPhoto '09 and I can't find a way to do that anymore. I don't understand Color Matching and some of the other settings I see, but I would like to learn how to get my photos to print the same as they look after I adjust them in iPhoto. It's mainly the darkness that's way off.
    Thanks.

I also ran Disk Utility to repair permissions. The first time through there were maybe 100 repairs made to the AirPort Utility.app. I don't even use AirPort, so I don't understand that.
I've re-run it two more times and both times kept getting this message:

Do I need to do anything else to fix that file?
Also, all three times I've repaired permissions it's taken over 5 minutes or more to complete. I've never had it take that long.

  • MY ITOUCH AUDIO BOOK SPEED IS TOO FAST

When I started to listen to my itouch audio book and music this morning the voice was fast and now it is super fast.  How do I set the voice to normal speed?  When I go to itune to download a book or podcast it sounds normal.

One the audio book playing screen there is a box on the right-hand side just below the scrubber bar.  In the box should be 1/2X, 1X or 2X.  Those are the playback speeds.  Tap the box to cycle through/change the playback speed.

  • Mouse scrolling speed is too fast

It appears that iPhoto doesn't honor the mouse scrolling speed in system prefs. Scrolling with the mouse is useless for me because the slightest up or down movement scrolls several pictures at a time. I have a Logitech MX Revolution... I don't know if the mighty mouse behaves any differently. Is anyone else annoyed by this?

Nevermind... I discovered the Logitech prefs allow me to fine tune the scroll wheel.

  • In iMovie '11 how do I slow down my credits at the end of my movie.  I typed them in, but the speed is too fast.

I have iMovie '11, and I can't find how to slow down the "credits" I've typed in at the end of my movie.  I guess
it would be the scrolling speed.

Credits scroll at the speed that is necessary for the scrolling to complete by the end of the clip.  So, to slow them down, simply prolong the duration of the scrolling credits title clip by selecting and draggging out the yellow boundary.

  • Can't burn disc via iTunes. Burn speed too fast. AGAIN!

"iTunes can't burn this CD because the burn speed is too fast for your CD burner or media. Choose a lower speed in the burning pane of iTunes Preferences then try burning again".
I have been having on going problems burning CD’s in iTunes for YEARS, and I know I am not the only one. I get the error message above. Having checked the forum at the time, and posted for help, I am know there is no real solution except to change brand of disc.
Thing is, now I can’t get ANY brands to work. I’ve been through Verbatim, Maxell, JVC, Sony, but none work. The only brand that would work were TDK audios which I can no longer find anywhere.
I know its not the burner, as Toast works fine, and I know I am not alone. Anyone got any ideas?
Even after years Apple seem to be blanking this question. It’s very frustrating not being able to burn my purchased itunes downloads to disc.

To anyone who is interested I think I may have found a possible solution. When you put a blank disc in the drive, wait about 30-60 seconds or so for it to stop spinning before burning.
This seems to work. It's a bit sticky but eventually works. I tried both TDK & Maxwell discs and 9 out of 11 worked. Absolutely no reason why the other 2 didn't, but it's a lot better than none.

  • CD burner error: Burn Speed Too Fast

Whenever I try to burn a CD on my eMac an error message says
"iTunes can't burn this CD because the burn speed is too fast for your CD burner or media. Choose a lower speed in the burning pane of iTunes Preferences then try burning again".
It even says that when the burning speed is on x1. It says that on every speed. So does anyone know how I can fix this problem and make it be able to burn CDs? Is it because I have nearly 10,000 songs on my iTunes, so that is somehow making it slow down?
The blank disc I'm using is "High Quality Pure Silver CD-R 80 Tevion"
It has 700 megabytes (80 minutes) on it, and I want to burn a CD that is 60 minutes, exactly. So, help? Thanks.

Let me see if I can help you understand your delima.
Just because you buy a very expensive Media Brand, doesn't mean it is any good. There is such a wide range of quality in CD's and DVD's it is really hard to select what is considered to be the best.
A very good guide to use for Media in general for both CD, and DVD's is below.
    http://www.digitalfaq.com/media/dvdmedia.htm
Next there are a couple of KEY points to remember when burning, these will help you.
Never have any other Applications open when burning.
I tend to use either CD-R or DVD-R Media, the reason is these 2 formats are the most widely used and recognized in all Players, and Computers alike.
Always choose the slowest speed to get a high quality burn.
This next suggestion is probably the most important.
Not all CD-R's and DVD-R's are the same
    Read the packaging carefully
Many will explain that they will burn at all speeds from 1X upwards
This will help insure that your burner Software will choose the correct speed.

  • How do I know the correct burn speed?

My Pioneer/Apple DVD burner is recognized in the iTunes preferences, I have DVD-R media, but when I try to back up my iTunes, I get an error message saying that the burn speed is too fast for my media. I selected 1x speed in preferences, and I still get the error message. I've wasted 3 DVDs trying to backup iTunes. What am I doing wrong? The DVDs say up to 16X and so does the DVD burner. I'm using an iMac OS X 10.3.9.
    iMac   Mac OS X (10.3.9)

I am using a PIONEER DVD-RW DVR-111D external, with USB 2, and was using Verbatim DVD+R 16X DVDs. I had tried Memorex earlier with Toast 6, and the burner would start to burn, then just stop. I have successfully burned photo DVDs with it using Toast 5 and the Verbatim DVDs. The DVD burner is supposed to burn up to 16X, as well. I have a large iTunes library, but wasn't given the option to select playlists before burning the DVD. Thanks, Linda74020

  • Burn speed error iTunes

    iTunes v 6.05
Selected 4x burning speed under preferences
Will not burn , get message, "iTunes can't burn this CD because the burn speed is too fast for your CD burner or media". I am using Verbatim disks with said burn speed and didn't have problems in the past. Have tried marking 2x, maximum possible burn speed and nothing works. Also could not burn pictures to a CD either. This used to work before memory upgrade.

Try a different brand. Highly recommended:
