Mel,  Sure, although that is "copying," not "burning."  It is easily done, as follows:
Insert the USB stick into your computer, and open it up so it looks like a folder.  Highlight the songs you want in iTunes, and drag them into the folder.
If you normally run iTunes in full screen mode, make it smaller so that you can do the drag.

  • Burning Playlist to MP3

I am clicking 'burn mp3 cd' button in playlist, but am getting error message 'None of the files can be burned to an MP3 cd - Only files that are in the mp3 format can be burned to an mp3 cd' ??? The files in the playlist are all coming from my I-Tunes library and are in the format that I-Tunes converts them to when uploading cds. Any ideas?

If you didn't change anything in the preferences, odds are that iTunes imported the songs as m4a files. Go into Preferences>Advanced>Importing and see how Import Using is set. If it's set to anything other than MP3 Encoder, you don't have mp3 files.

i want to burn a playlist to an mp3 disc. i have tried converting to mp3 and i get the converting message but when i try to burn the disc it says not able to burn as an mp3 disc.

If you have purchased music in the playlist, it will not burn as a MP3, you will have to remove it from the playlist.

  • I Can't Burn A Usable MP3 CD On My Mac /10.7.5 / Lion

I'm getting a little bummed out with this problem. I have tried many things, but still can't burn a useable CD with MP3 music on my Mac. When I try it, it seems to burn it, but the disc won't play in any of my CD players. Why does Mac make it so hard to burn a simple CD?
    Can someone help me here?
These are the last steps I tried:
Selected songs from my iTunes list
Drag them to the Writeable CD Icon on my desk top.
First it said it couldn't find the original song
So I dragged the songs directly from My Music
Then it seemed to burn the MP3s, but the CD won't play...!

  • Can I burn .m4a and .mp3 file on the same CD?

I downloaded a few podcasts and have one in .m4a format, the other in .mp3.
Can both be burned onto the same CD via iTunes -- or do I need to convert?
And if so, what format should both podcasts be in?
    Thanks.

Can both be burned onto the same CD via iTunes
    Yes.
And if so, what format should both podcasts be in?
If you want an audio CD, just put all files into a playlist and click *Burn CD* then select Audio CD. iTunes will convert them to CD audio.
Selecting Data CD/DVD in iTunes will burn the files as they are. They can be MP3, AAC, AIFF or whatever and will be burned in that format (useful for backing up files)
If you select MP3 CD (this is the format of the files on the CD), the files must already be in MP3 format.
This is the same as a Data CD/DVD except iTunes will use only MP3 files (because many players can play MP3 files).

  • Burning a  large mp3, I would like to start on burning vd #4

The electricty went off and left me at 6 of 8

There is nothing in iTunes burning to the effect of "restart where you left off." I don't understand the reference to "large MP3," but if you make more clear what you were doing, there may be a shortcut.

  • Brasero Cannot burn cd using mp3 files [SOLVED]

Everytime i try to burn an audio CD from mp3 files brasero gives me an error saying "Not suitable for audio or video media." I have all of the gstreamer plugins installed so thats not the problem. Ive seen a few posts on forums for other distros about the same problem but no real fixes. Most people just suggest using something else. I want to use brasero. I like the way it integrates with banshee. Has anyone else seen this issue?

You'll have to turn .mp3 into .wav to make an audio CD. Or did you mean a data CD with .mp3 files on it? Google how to make an audio CD.
    lame --decode file.mp3 output.wav
Are there any other burning programs that can do this?
You bet. Here are the basics. Add whatever options you wish.
Make .iso of files to burn to CD
    mkisofs -R -J /path/to/files -o /path/to/output.iso
Disk with multiple folders on it.
    genisoimage -J -r -pad -graft-points dir1/=/path/files dir2/=/path/files dir3/=/path/files > filename.iso
    Burn .iso to disk
    growisofs -Z /dev/sr0=/path/name.iso
    wodim speed=8 -tao dev=/dev/sr0 /path/file.iso
    Burn DVD from files example
    growisofs -use-the-force-luke=tty -Z /dev/sr0 -J -r -speed=8 -dvd-compat -pad -graft-points /path/file.avi /path/file.avi
Write Audio CD from a folder of .wav files
    cdrecord -v dev=/dev/sr0 speed=8 -audio -pad *.wav

Hi all.  I've just switched from Windows to iMac. Before this move, I used DAK's software and interface mixer to burn albums from a standard turntable into itunes.. It doesn't work with Macs, so I'm in the hunt. Any advice? The simpler the better. I managed to use DAK, but the less steps, the better.

this software is not supported by apple so with any support or questions you have go to their support forums for help not here. All the links are below and this is a good solution for windows users.

  • Help! i upgraded my itunes to 7.0.2 and I can't burn my mp3's?????

I am having the same problem like many other posts as to burning mp3's on the latest version of itunes.
my itunes was working fine till i downloaded the latest version and i tried to burn some songs that i even downloaded from itunes. i am having 2 major problems:
    (1) when i try to burn a playlist that i purchased from itunes it starts off like it's going to intitalize the burn then a warning pops up stating that 'none of the files can be burned to mp3 cd' then i click on the arrow to see the reason why i can't burn and it states 'itunes store files cannot be burned to an mp3 cd'. this has never happened before i have downloaded music from itunes before and never had this problem.
(2)the second problem i am having is the songs that my itunes will allow me to burn ( mostly transfered from my personal cd's and other downloads) burn in the usual manner but the don't play on my cd player....at all. i am using the correct cd's and my stereo is playing other burned cd's fine. the stereo is not old and i don't have any problem burning other files to cd. i tried everything...i even bought new blank cd's and i'm still having the problem. what is it? and how can i fix it.
please help if anyone has any advice!!!!

No version of iTunes has ever allowed you to burn songs from the iTunes Store to MP3 CD.
I think you need to change your burning setting in Preferences > Advanced > Burning to Audio CD.

  • How do I burn a playlist as MP3 without getting heaps of duplicates in my library and the playlist still in the original format?

I thought if I made up a playlist and chose to burn it as MP3 it would just happen. Even after I choose to convert the songs to MP3 I am left with the same message, Only files that are already in MP3 CD format may be burned to an MP3 CD.
Is this really the way it is or am I making some mistake?

Createa playlist with the songs you want.
Then use this script -> http://dougscripts.com/itunes/scripts/ss.php?sp=quickconvert
    to;
    change the import settings
    create a new playlist
create MP3 versions in this new playlist.
    change the import settings back
Then burn an MP3 CD of this new playlist.
Select the new playlist (only MP3) then Option delete to delete the playlist and all (MP3) songs in it.

  • Burning Mp3

Whenever I choose let's say 80 songs for an MP3 cd, itunes will only burn some songs. One time I chose 80 and itunes only burned 4.
    Why?
Why does it burn some and not all?
What's the difference between one song and the other?

It's probably not an mp3 music file. When your looking at your library right click on a song and select get info (or highlight and hold 'command' and press 'i'). In the window that pops up, click summary on the top. Look at bottom of the window next to the heading "where: probably followed by something long" look at the end of that line. If it doesn't say .mp3 at the end, then it's not an mp3 file and it won't burn to an mp3 disk.
FYI - the songs you buy from itunes are not mp3 and unless you have the setting in your itunes preferences to import cd's to mp3 then those files won't be mp3 either.

  • MP3 burning help needed please

    Hi,
I'm hoping someone can help me please.
I'm wanting to burn a mp3 cd but with the songs in separate folders so that when i play them in my car i can flick between the albums instead of having to go through all the singles one after another.
Does anyone know of a good mp3 burner that can do this, and where to get it from too.
All and any help in this matter is greatly appreciated
    Cheers
    Paul

You want them in separate Album folders?
Put the songs into the playlist.
Sort the playlist by Album then burn it as MP3* disc.
This will put the songs into Album folders.
Likewise, if you sort by Artist, songs will be put into Artist/Album/ folders.
    * Note that only MP3 files will be burned to the disc. If the files are not already MP3 format, they will be skipped.
If you burn it as a DataCD, it wil work the same except it will copy the files regardless of format. I do this as my CD player will work with both AAC & MP3 formats.

  • Burning MP3 CDs to be used on my car's MP3 Radio

I am looking for an official answer from Apple stating that the songs and audiobooks that I have purchased cannot be burned as an MP3 CD (except for the ones in the "plus" format).
The files are generally speaking rather expensive, but I have decided to choose iTunes as prefered platform a while back as it seemed extremely portable to me. Now it does not seem so anymore, and I want to either find an answer to my issue, or take a decision on how to continue.
    Thank you for your time.

    Good enough for you?
iTunes: Music purchased from iTunes Store cannot be burned to MP3 format CD
"Songs purchased from the iTunes Store are in AAC Protected format. You cannot convert them to other formats, including MP3. You can, however, back them up to a data CD or DVD, or you can burn them to an audio CD."
