Burns correct song, but wrong file name

I have been burning a song of mine. After the song is finished burning I click on the cd icon and when it opens it shows a name of a different song. When I play the cd it plays the correct song-the one I burned! The name it labels it with is a drum track I once created so I deleted the drum track, restarted the computer, etc. It still burns the right song but names it with the track I deleted. I am preparing this cd to go out to radio stations and, although my outside labelling (cd art, Lightscribe on the cd) identifies the song, I am afraid of what will happen if the cd is downloaded, e.g. it won't show up with it' correct name.

I burn cds with iTunes-my own music imported from Garageband into iTunes.
I deleted all copies of the song that keeps being labeled on my new songs from iTunes.
I see there are iTunes Library data files in my iTunes folder, but I can't open them. There is also a folder labelled Previous iTunes Libraries with old dates on them. I don't know why they are there.
I repair permissions and restart my computer regularly.
Following the lead of some other apple discussion threds where people have had the same problem I created a 1-second silent track and added it to the playlist of the one song I was burning. Then I labeled the silent track and my demo under one album name. Then it burned and labeled okay. It turns out this problem only happens when you are burning single songs. Burning albums don't have this problem. Compilations will have this problem if you don't change all the songs to one album heading. Also, it happens with any single song burn, not just my Garageband stuff. I tried burning a single Bob Dylan song and it still came out labeled with the wrong name, the same ones iTunes put on my demo.

  • Recovered songs but no file names

I transferred some of my songs in iTunes to my 8gb MP3/Media player (ehem.. it wasn't an iPod), then my media player died. I had to reformat it to work but lost my songs.
I used a data recovery app which seems to have worked amazingly well, recovering 18GB of songs, yes 18GB! Unfortunately most of the songs have lost their Tags so they are mostly just numbered.
Anyone know how I can recover the song/artist/album etc names for the files before or after I put them back into iTunes.

You have lost those tags, they're unrecoverable.
You can use an app like MusicBrainz Picard to help you identify songs, but that's gonna be a long and frustrating experience.
Also be aware that your recovery app is probably not able to combine fragmented files, so it's possible you have incomplete songs.

If you have been using the mac.com Apple ID to make iTunes purchases recently, then there should be no issues continuing to use it with the new iPhone. I would abandon the new ID as you will never get Apple to merge the two IDs. I have had a mac.com ID for years and continue to use it with my iPhone 4S.
Tell us the issues that you encounter trying to set up the iPhone with the mac.com account.

Without some care, it seems that that can cause some very unexpected results in batch files if you use wildcards to process files.
This is correct. You can suppress the generation of 8.3 file names with this command
    fsutil behavior set disable8dot3 1
or check what the parameters mean like so:
    fsutil behavior set disable8dot3 /?
The command will affect newly created files only. Existing files will retain their 8.3 names unless you remove them with this command:
    fsutil  8dot3name  strip  FolderName
Your file retained its unexpected 8.3 name most likely from an early name that started with "ind".

  • How Do I Burn a Music Disc with Files Names Included?

    Hi,
Is it possible to burn a music disc and somehow include the file names so when it is opened in another iTunes (or mine) it will have the track listing there?
    Thanks!
    James [email protected]

As iTunes does not support CD Text you can't include track information on a AudioCD.
As a workaround you may "Submit Track Names" to CDDA through iTunes Menu Advanced after having burned a CD.

  • Loading text files, but the file name is variable

I'm working on a project that will be converting loaded files to some format using an oracle table (external table or otherwise) the problem is that i need to trick the loader so that i dont specify the original file name. the already processed files shall be deleted basically. but how to tell the loader to grap the first file from directory (say using FIFO)wait until the load is done, spool the new format into another dir then load the second file. i was thinking of UTL_FILE in 9iR2 can RENAME a file. So, the external table could be based on
"current_file_to_process.dat" and you would frename a file to be "current".

    Hi Paras,
Based on your description, it is not the VS IDE issue, if it is related to the SSIS, I suggest you post the issue in this forum here:http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/sqlserver/en-US/home?forum=sqlintegrationservices

Select  ▹ System Preferences ▹ Spotlight ▹ Privacy. The list of items excluded from Spotlight indexing is shown (it may be empty.) Click the plus (“+”) icon to add an item to the list. Select your boot volume (under DEVICES) and add it to the list. Then remove it from the list by selecting it and clicking the minus (“-“) icon.
Spotlight will rebuild the index. If you try to do a Spotlight search now from the magnifying-glass icon in the top right corner of the display, a pulsing dot will appear in the icon. When the dot disappears, the indexing is complete.

  • Wrong File Names to iPhoto

I made a slideshow in iPhoto from images that I have in Aperture. I Did a Batch Name Change in Aperture to rename the files. When I showed selected my Aperture images in a new slideshow in iPhoto and ran the slideshow with "Show Titles" the filenames were the original filenames and not the filenames that I had changed in Aperture! How can I get the correct filenames to display?

PS - I also posted this on the iPhoto Discussion

    Kevin,
I suspect that this is the cause of the problem - as I recall, you cannot rename files in Aperture (except for at import time). What you've probably done is to change the caption or version name, which is not the same thing.
You probably need to investigate the iPhoto slideshow options to see if it can use the caption and not the file name.

  • Save as Image, but modify file name From Page_[0-9]+.jpg to -%04d.jpg

I have a PDF that was compiled from multiple tiffs of a scanned document. The Tiffs are no logner around, and we want to regenerate them from Acrobat. Easy enough. However, we cannot adjust the padding on the file name.
For example we save a 10 page document as document1.jpg will result in jpg's saved as the following: document1_Page_01.jpg, document1_Page_02.jpg, etc.
If the document was 100 pages it would save as: document1_Page_001.jpg, document1_Page_002.jpg, etc.
I am comfortable writing a bash, python, or some other script to rename all these files to %04d (0001,0002.jpg), but ideally is there anyway to accomplish this from acrobat.

You could try the basic DOS rename utility. However, it may only work with the short name version of the files, not the long names. Go to a DOS window and type "rename /?" without the quotes to get information on the process. You can typically use standard placeholders in the file names. Some DOS commands will deal with long file names if you enclose them in quotes, but I doubt it here. There may be some windows utilites available that can also do this.
The use for multiple documents is documented at http://www.lagmonster.org/docs/DOS7/z-ren1.html and that might help give you ideas. I would suggest you copy some of the files to a test folder to try things out. In fact, I would suggest you do all the processing on a copy or your original folder of files.

  • ITunes 9.0.2. replaced song titles with file names

I just updated iTunes to 9.0.2. When iTunes was restarted, it went through quite a long time updating my library. Then, I found the titles of some songs were replaced with their file names. This is not nice! Does anybody else have the same problem?

Did you somehow solve the problem? I have the same problem ...

  • Files arranged by date added, but changing file name changes date added

I've got my Downloads folder set to view (in the Finder) by "date added", a very useful feature. However, if I change a file name, the "date added" changes to that new time, and "date modified" stays the same as it was. This doesn't make sense to me... isn't date added just that, when it was added to the folder? Why would this happen? Any workarounds or suggestions?

You should use the 'File/Directory Info' functionality.
This will return the last modificatoin of the file.

  • BAI File postings to correct GL but wrong company code

    Hello,
I have a issue as one of the Outgoing Miscellaneous entry is posting to a correct GL account , but to the wrong Company Code. Could you please let me know how the GL a/c and Company code is detemined when the BAI files process automatically into the system.
    Appreciate your response

    Hello,
The electronic bank statement is not designed for cross-company code
postings . You can,  however, create these postings manually, for instance by the
subsequent processing of BI sessions or using Transaction FEBA.
However, this can lead to unwanted results in the document display
    of Transaction FEBA.
If you've developed an exit to adapt these postings then you also have to check your own source code that could cause the error.

I have the same problem. Of course, there is a work-around, but it's waay too much trouble:
    * import the files in Aperture while renaming them / or / batch rename them in Aperture
    * do an export from Aperture to some folder on the harddrive
    * import the renamed files into iPhoto
But, would there be an easier way?
Did you ever receive any clues from anyone regarding this topic?

  • Images added to page have wrong file name

I've been using iWeb ever since it came out and thought I knew everything I needed to know but am running into an unusual issue.
I have a folder of images I call my originals. I copy them and place them into another folder called large. I run an Automator action to scale the images down to 750, rename the images large-001aa.jpg and also create a corresponding thumbnail folder and files. When I drag and drop these images into iWeb, the older filenames are there. The filename in iWeb and the actual filename do not match. It's as if it's pulling up an older filename from when the image was first created. I have deleted the page, quit iWeb, etc. What's going on here? Is it pulling old metadata or is there a cache I need to clear? Thanks for any help.

Youtube video of the issue. It has audio but don't know why youtube isnt playing it.

Watch for when I add the image to iWeb. In finder it's small_001.jpg but after adding it to iWeb it's thumbnail...
