Bursting PDF with editable fields

I have been successful in generating PDF output from a PDF template that contains editable fields. When I open the PDF using Adobe Professional, everthing functions as normal. However, when I burst the PDFs the final output PDFs are no longer editable. They contain the correct data, but everything is locked down. Has anyone attempted this with success? If so, can you point me to some possible pitfalls? I'd hate to have to run a single request for each output.
Thanks,
Jamie

Very easy to create. I have not been able to get them to burst with editable fields. Please note that it is not editable with Adobe Reader, unless it is first extended with Adobe Professional or Adobe LiveCycle Reader Extensions. Depending on your config settings you may have to make some changes to allow the fields to remain editable.

  • Export to PDF with editable fields...

Does anyone know if you can export to a PDF and keep editable fields? I have a 10 page form which was created in Pages but now needs to be turned into a PDF users can fill out I was hoping there may be an easy way to do this?

You might take a look at PDFpen, especially the "Pro" version. But I think you might need the full version of Acrobat to create fillable forms.

  • 2 Classic Reports with edit fields on the same page

    Hi All, need your help.
I am trying to have 2 classic reports on one page with edit fields like date, list values, text
I have noticed that the element indexes are the same f01_0001 have both first elements from both reports.
This is making my code go crazy.
Also i have a problem with Date Picker, if i select it as a column type for a first element in second report the icon shows up in the first report.
I think this is because of indexing, but... Classic Date Picker put the icon on second report but when i select the date, the values is populated to first column in first report
Does anyone have a solution for this problem! (for example change the indexing for second report)
    DB is 11.2g
    Apex is 4.2.0.00.27

Are these tabular forms, ie updteable.
If so, you can only have one per page

  • Generate PDF FORM with editable fields

    Hi,
my requirement is to create a document wich has a number of fields which users can fill in. By default, these fields need to be filled in with the data from the database, but editable by the user, the rest of the document has to be non-editable. I'm looking to PDF Forms for this, but am open to other suggestions. I can't get the output to show such fields. Is it even possible?

  • Convert text in PDF to editable field in Reader

    Hi,
Is there a way in Acrobat Pro to convert text in the PDF to an editable field so that someone opening the PDF in Reader would be able to amend the text. Or do you actually have to make the text in Acrobat?
    Thanks for any help,
    Jackie

It can probably be achieved with a script, but if you only need to do it once, I think doing it manually is the best way to go.

  • Smart Forms with editable fields and signature field provided by Webdynpro ABAP

    Hi,
i've created an interactive smart form.. Everything fine. The preview of the adobe livecycle designer looks excellent, every field is editable, the signaturefield is signable...
But when i try to test my form using transaction SE80 i'll get a pdf without any signable field, without any editable textfield and so on
I've used the standard printer ZPDF1 for that purpose. (PDF1)
Every value provided by the interface is displayed correctly in the pdf , but no field offers the possibility to change values anymore the pdf looks like a real printed document.
I want to build a webdynpro application where the user gets a pdf in the last step, where he or she is able to edit single values in the prefilled PDF and afterwards to sign this document with his/her digital certificate...
    hope you could help me
    kind regards

    solved by myself.
You have to install and configure the reader rights credentials mentioned in note 736902

  • To capture the selected rows along with edited field contents in alv report

    Dear All,
I do have requirement where, in alv report output one field is editable and need to save the content of the edited field along with the selected rows.
For example If there are 10 records displayed in the alv output with 20 fields.
Out of this 20 fields one field (say XYZ) is editable. Also i have already created a new pushbutton (say ABC) on alv output. Now in the alv output if we maintain some value in the field (XYZ ) for the 2nd and 4th record and select this two records, and when clicked on the pushbutton (ABC) it has to update the DB table.
I am using the Func Module  'REUSE_ALV_GRID_DISPLAY'.
Your early reply with sample code would be appreciated.
    Thanks in Advance.

    HI Naveen ,
There is an import parameter "i_callback_program" in the function module,
plz pass the program name to it.
Capture the command by passing a field of type sy-ucomm to "I_CALLBACK_USER_COMMAND ".  Check the returned command and
and program a functionality as desired.
u can try the event double_click or at line selection. there u can use READLINE command to c if the line has been selected.
In case it is , process the code segment.

  • ALV grid with editable fields

    Dear Colleagues,
I develop an ALV grid with OO standard methods. Before the first display of the table I define the editable fields. It works fine.
I have a problem : if the table is empty and I press the standard icons "Append a line" or "Insert a line", the new line don't have the defined editable characteristics.for fields. Is there a standard method which I have forgotten ?

Some forms do not display correctly in the Desktop Reader if field highlighting is enabled. This is something we're actively working on, but you might try disabling field highlights by clicking on the button in the purple bar at the top of the Document in the Desktop Reader to see if that helps.
Can you please share the file? You can email it to [email protected] This way we can get a better idea what is happening.
    Thanks!

  • REUSE_ALV_GRID_DISPLAY with editable field -- Get the short text

    Hi everybody,
I would like to know if you can resolve the following problem:
I have an editable column in my ALV grid with a match code. When the user choise the value in the range, this value is displayed in the grid. But I would like to display the short text and not the fix value like actually.
    Have you got an idea?
    Thank you in advance.
    Best regards,
    Robin

You could add another column for the text and change it's contents when the editable field changes.

  • Save VO with Edited fields But as a New Record, Old one should not change

    Hi All,
I have set of VOs, those are connected by View links, in such a way One VO comes under Another up to 7 level,
    Like
    level----1
    2
    3
    4
    5....
And My requirement is if I made any of the Operations,( Insert/update/Delete) on any of the VO's(Records of the VO) that comes in this flow, I have to save it as a new record with the Edited Fields , new Id and new revision number, Also I have to keep the original one unchanged.
that is After updating the record I should have the old one as a Library and New one as the active record.
    Please help....

    Hi Timo,
The JDev I am using is Studio Edition Version 11.1.1.2.0 and Build JDEVADF_11.1.1.2.0_GENERIC_091029.2229.5536
And the Relationships between the VO's are *:* When I change a record of level 3, I need to copy all the other 6 levels along with the updated one.
The revision Number is in the Top VO, which will increment but all the other record will remains the same other than Id and updated fields.
That is , there should be a new set of records with the same data with updated fields, and the old set remain the same, which can be used as a Library for reference.
    Thanks & Regards,

  • My PDFs with form fields get "There was an error opening this document. The file is damaged and could not be repaired." on anothers computer, PC and MAC

Im creating PDFs through InDesign and using Acrobat Pro 9 to add fields.  I save them to allow ADobe Reader people to use them.  Everything works fine on Pro and Reader on my end with a PC as well as someone elses PC.  But one person using Mac said some forms work and some dont.  Those that dont get the error "There was an error opening this document. The file is damaged and could not be repaired."  Ive resaved them and made sure they work and same problem.  There is nothing overly coplex about the PDFs either, a date field at the most.  They are using Reader 9.1.
I found out the other day that one person who can open them adds info to them saves them and send over to that other person and cannot open any of them after they have been edited, same error.  He even tried on a PC and still gets it.
I dont know what to do.  I know it has to be on his end and not mine.  What else can I suggest to him??

It sounds like they are using an earlier version of Acrobat or Reader, though you said Reader 9.1. If you add some features in AA9 that are new, it appears that earlier versions see the new features as damaged files. At least that is my guess. Try using Reduce File Size or PDF Optimize to save to an earlier version and see if that helps. The other option is that you are getting them messed up in e-mail because many client look at PDF files as ascii and do not encrypt them. In that case force the encryption. You can also send them in ZIP form.

  • Flattening a PDF with Siganture Field

    Hi,
I have dynamic XML form, which has 2 signature fields. In my process I flatten the document using transformPDF. But if one of the signature fields are signed then, the PDF cannot be viewed in Acrobat.
I logged the PDF properties of both below.
    Signed PDF's properties after flattening:
    isPDFDocument=true isPDFPackage=null PDFVersion=1.7 hasAttachments=null hasComments=false requiredAcrobatVersion=8.0 formType=NotAForm isAcroForm=false isFillableForm=false isXFADocument=false XFAVersion=null
    Empty PDF's properties after flattening:
    isPDFDocument=true isPDFPackage=null PDFVersion=1.7 hasAttachments=null hasComments=false requiredAcrobatVersion=8.0 formType=NotAForm isAcroForm=false isFillableForm=false isXFADocument=false XFAVersion=null
What is the reason for this difference?
    Thanks

The text associated with a Sticky Note or any other icon-based markup (e.g. a stamp) is not part of the page layout, and by default is positioned off to the side of the page when viewed. The only thing remaining after the page is flattened is the icon, because that's all there was to begin with.
If you want something that stays on the page when flattened you have to use the text-box markup tool instead. You can create a comment summary report from the Comments Panel menu, but that's pretty much it.
