Business address points to wrong location on map

When entered into the Apple maps app, the address of my business sends my customers 15 miles away into the boonies. I have done the report a problem and moved the pin in the app NUMEROUS times over the last 6 months. Is there any way to contact someone that can actually do something about this? It is beyond frustrating for me and my customers.
Thanks

Is there a way to modify the variable that windows GPO uses?  In the GPO configuration window for shortcuts the target location is a drop-down menu and when you select desktop is uses the %DesktopDir% variable even though this isn't a valid.

  • Listener is pointing to wrong location

    Hi Experts,
I have installed 3 database in my one unix server. For one of the system the listener parameter file location is pointing to wrong path. It should point to /oracle/<SID>/11202/networ/admin/listener.ora but it is pointing to other system SID hence the error is like the user is not authorized to start the listener.
I checked the env of my system and which is fine. Please suggest where can i check the path for Listener parameter File.

  • Font pointing to wrong location

In my document text using Lucida Grande has dissapeared. Upon sleuthing using "Find Font" I've discovered that Lucida Grande is actually pointing to a different font: /Library/Fonts/Stone Sans OS ITC TT. The other font used - Lucida Grande Bold works fine, and using "Find Font" it points to the correct location of /System/Library/Fonts/LucidaGrande.ttc
What is interesting is that the same problem appears on two different machines using two different versions of InDesign. The problem first appeard on my MacBook Pro using InDesign 5 but it also happens on my iMac using InDesign 5.5.
I tired creating a new document on both machines, and the problem follows.
How can I tell InDesign to point Lucida Grande to /System/Library/Fonts/LucidaGrande.ttc?
I tried copying the font to the /Library/Fonts folder, but the Mac OS X complains about duplicate fonts.

    Hey there,
Lucida Grande is a system font, and should not be moved from the System/Library/Fonts folder. Doing so may render your Mac unbootable. The reason you're getting the duplicate font issue is because Lucida Grande must be present and in use at startup, and copying it into one of the other Fonts folders essentially tries to activate it again. It's probably a good idea not to use Lucida Grande in your design work to avoid potential system problems when packaging/loading the font onto another system.
    Hope this helps,
    Cheers!

  • Wrong locations using Map to Geocache

I have recently noted that when I put in the coordinates in Map to Geocache using Latitude and Longitude that it does not put the locations where it should be. For example: I am in upstate NY in the Adirondacks. When I put the coordinates in for a Geocache, it drops a pin about 40-50 miles away in the middle of the Adirondack Park. This has made the Map app useless for Geocaching. Does anyone know what has happened? I was using this all the time, and now it seems to be broken. Did this happen with the 3.0 update? Has anyone heard if Apple is going to fix it?
    I have an iPhone 3GS using 3.0.
    Thanks,

Well it's true, you just need to take that 1/2 a second to select the pin first.

I moved the folder where my iWeb page was being published but the RSS link is pointing the old folder. I modified the html in Dreamweaver but when I resave and publish again using iWeb, the change is replaced.
    Any way to fix this?

IF you were uploading it correctly, you would upload the whole folder, as it was published.
    So your domain name

OR in the case of a blog or podcast
    http://www.anotherexample.com/Sitenamefromsiteorganizer/NameofBlogorPodcast/Name ofBlogorPodcast.html
    The rss would be

  • How can i help alter wrong locations in Maps?

I have noticed that several "places of interest" in my area are marked but are in the wrong places.  Is it possible to alter these for ALL future users?
Is it possible to add other "places of interest" - or is this done by a commercial arrangement I wonder?

When you find the POI click on it and there is a Report a Problem button.
You can add the same way or add it in Yelp.

  • Maps directs me to wrong location

Hi All -- My Google maps (the one that came with the phone) constantly sends me to the wrong location. I'll type in a known address (let's say 5410 Wilshire Blvd, 90036) and it will give me directions just to Wilshire Blvd (no street address). It does this almost every time, both in Maps view and List view.
I've tried typing the address in, or linking to it from my calendar meeting location, and still doesn't work.
I have the google app, so I can go there, go to Maps and enter it in there and it works fine, but that seems like a lot of extra work. Anyone find a fix?
Also, I'm finding it near impossible to view traffic on the map if you have a route marked.

I just tried this ("5410 Wilshire Blvd, 90036") and a red pin drops down to a precise street address (looks to be over Vince). Where does your red pin fall?
Also, I'm finding it near impossible to view traffic on the map if you have a route marked.
This is a problem I experience as well. Unfortunately the best solution I have found is that once the purple route line has been drawn after tapping Route, to just toggle over to Search and the purple will go away. This way you can see traffic conditions as you have a general idea of where the purple is.

  • When I click on my address in my contact entry Google maps show diferent point at the map

    Please,
On iPhone 4, iOS 5, When I click on my address in my contact entry Google maps show diferent point at the map

Do you have a WiFi only iPad?
If yes, go to another site, like say a Starbucks, connect to their internet and click on the arrow to show your location. If it is correct then your router is reporting incorrect information. Wait and the database will eventually be updated.

  • My store location is wrong on iphone maps, what now?

I do not own any apple products. I am here because I get about 3 calls per day, from people that do, saying that their iPhone took them to the wrong location. How can I fix this problem for them? How can I tell apple my correct address or fix whatever problem is occurring?

Paranoia perhaps, I just find it strange that the only electronic map that has my location wrong is the one that allows users "report a problem", setting the location in a different place as the address, and doesn't run off the basic address=location theory that company's like Google use.
My address is "public knowledge" but most people memorize my company name not the address, and if they use apple maps they will not find me.
I'm just here hoping that someone knows about an easy over ride method that owners of the company who's store location is in question can utilize to help iPhone direct its users to where they are trying to go.
I am having a terribly hard time figuring out how to "take this up with apple" All I can find is a ton of other people with this problem and the only solution being to "report a problem" on the maps, but this doesn't seem to work.
My real question is how do you get a hold Apple to take this up with them. Because Contact Us and Support has only lead me here.

  • Contact changes address to wrong location every time

ok so input the address "655 W. Irving Park Rd. Chicago, IL" to maps.
the location is accurate.click the arrow and add to existing contact
add it to a contact the the contact is opened
I click on the address to show it on the maps
the same address is now displayed far southwest in the middle of a forest preserve!
    Try it at home kids!
no idea how to fix this or who to tell.

Complain to Google... it's their mapping service.  I'd hope this would be fixed with iOS6 once Google Maps gets dumped.

  • When I search my business address in VZ Navigator, it sends me in the opposite direction. How do I fix this? My business address works on Google Maps and Google Earth but not on VZ Navigator

VZ Navigator doesn't seem to have my business address in their system. How do I add it or fix it? Right now when I put the address in it takes me to a totally different part of the city.

        emy4,
I'd definitely be concerned if my Navigator wasn't giving me the correct location! That needs to work great for you. I'm more than happy to assist you with this today! What phone do you have? Do any other nearby addresses have issues?

  • IOS8.1 maps new favorites not storing address and old wrong / no address

Since updating to iOS8.1 on an iPhone 5s, Yosemite 10.10, iTunes 12.0.1 I have discovered that:
    i)   My existing Favourites as imported from iOS7 under Bookmarks have randomly:
         a)  Not found the address
         b)  Found a random address that relates to the Favorite name but not to the address originally bookmarked.
ii)   When I add a new Favorite and then try to use it the Favorite name appears briefly in the search bar and then goes blank, as if no address was associated to the Favorite.
(This suggests to me that my Favorite list is corrupt and will not update etc)
I have been into an Apple Store and they verified I was creating the Favorite correctly and they were amazed as I.
To try and remedy this I have now done a clean install of iOS8.1 and cleared all Recents and all Favorites bar one and when adding a new Favorite the same as ii) above happens.
    Any other ideas?
    Regards,
    Simon
P.s I had a similar problem with iOS8.0 but ignored it...

    An update..
This issue I subsequently discovered applied to my iPad 2 as well as friends using iPhone 4s, 6 and 6 Plus.
Interestingly if you create a new favourite that you give a Title that is well known e.g. Buckingham Palace it will pause briefly and find the location, suggesting although it can't find the location you specified it then uses the Title to search. (This may explain how I was getting the wrong location originally).
I have been through Apple support chat, been referred to a higher level / call back and finally had the issue referred back to "Engineering".
I sent them videos of the problem and finally went into the Apple Store in Regent Street London and replicated the issue on a display iPhone 6.  Which suggests nothing to do with my personal settings / hardware / AppleID etc.
I had daily call backs for three days and prompt email correspondence (excellent customer service from Ireland) whilst Engineering looked into the issue and finally heard they had managed to replicated the problem and thanked me for raising it.
I suspect this means the new feature may be reversed out in an upcoming release but no fix for now .
    Hope this helps
    Regards,
    Simon
