Business and Finance program??
Im not sure if Im posting this question in the right section, but what they heck!
I need to know what is the best finance program to do simple accounting work on a Mac? Is there a free program that I can download (similar to NeoOffice) or do I have to buy the best software?

Impossible to answer, as only you know what you want/need to do.
You could try looking in VersionTracker or MacUpdate to see what applications are on offer.
For simple business accounting work I would invest in MYOB or Excel.

I am looking for the right finance tracking program to use on my Mac. The problem is that I have the business records in MS Money for Small Business 2005 in my office and I need to work with them away from the office on my Mac.

Welcome to Apple Discussions. Having said that, the Pages forum is the wrong place to get info about finance programs. I'd recommend going to the newsgroup comp.sys.mac.apps. I've had very good luck getting my non-Apple software problems solved there. -
I removed SkyDrive for Business and installed OneDrive for Business on my laptop. After that, I had problems opening a Word and Excel document in a SharePoint site (SP2013). After installing Service Pack2 from Office2010, this problem is solved.
But I still have the same problem with InfoPath. Whenever I click an InfoPath form (I have InfoPath 2010 on my laptop),...
... I get the error "cannot display web page".

I can open the InfoPath form and read it.
Any ideas about how to fix this ? I already tried to restore the Office 2010 via Control Panel - Install Programs but without any success...Hi Gert,
As I understand, you can’t open InfoPath form in SharePoint 2013 unless you change the URL without “ms-infopath:ofe|u|”.
There are some reasons which maybe cause this issue, and you can try to do things below:
Access CA -> General Application Settings -> Configure InfoPath Form Service -> Check the two options in User Browser-enabled Form Templates.
Go into the registry by typing regedit from the Run line and rename the SharePoint.OpenDocuments.5 key (ex. SharePoint.OpenDocuments.5.old) under HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT.
In library settings, click "relink documents to this library".

My wife has been having problems with Safari, and many third party software and malware programs infecting her Mac Book Pro. I have tried to reset Safari but it keeps coming back, taking over Safari, changing defaults, start pages, and search engines, Etc.
Is it safe to use programs like MacKeeper, who keeps send my wife's computer message and alerts, or should I just wipe the drive and start over?
SkipI am having lot's of lag time with Safari, etc..

Regarding products, those are not created in the cloud. In regards to what data is unidirectional versus bi-directional the discussion normally focuses on who owns the data. Products aren't owned by the sales or service teams, they are normally owned by a master data function. Products are unidrectional from ERP to Cloud for customer. CS3 and CS4 program compatibility
I have Premier Pro CS3 and happy with it. I have a chance to buy some inventory from a company going out of business and they have After Effects CS4. Would that be backward compatiable with my PPCS3?

/billThe two programs will probably work on the same computer, but you're not likely to get the benefits of Dynamic Link, which requires the entire suite.

Not Getting the Promotion Code for Trade In and Up program
I was lured into buying a new phone from Verizon due to the trade in and up program. From the website it says I could get a minimum $100 for my old phone when I purchased/activated a new smartphone. I activated my new device and have been waiting for more than 5 business days for the promo code but it never arrived. I called both Verizon customer service and Verizon recycle program but they cannot help much since they can only escalate the issue. Now I really doubt if this is a legitimate program? Does anyone else have the same issue? Did you contact anyone who can help you?

I was trying to take advantage of the "Trade In and Trade Up" promotion. I was supposed to get a promotion code 5 days after activating a new phone. Almost 3 weeks after activating a new phone I hadn't gotten a promotion code.
Anyway I finally got the promotion code after 4 phone calls (2 to verizon, 2 to the recycling program). So now I'm on to the next step and have submitted my phone trade in information. We'll see if I have the difficulties others have described on the forums here.
However, even if everything goes smoothly I've already wasted almost an hour of my time following up on something that should have just happened. I would imagine most Verizon customers find it annoying to have their time wasted.

Snow Leopard is one of the best MAC programs ever invented by Apple. So, I wanted to find out why Apple has chosen to discontinue there best working, and greatest, most stable Mac Program they have ever invented. In all honesty, Apple's Lion and Maverick programs have been disastrous due to recent serious security breaches in these new programs, which did not occur with any of Apple's Snow Leopard users like myself. Part of good business is sticking with programs that are enduring and will out last the test of time and technology.
Also, Snow Leopard has proved itself by passing in terms of protecting us "Snow Leopard" users from any security breaches and other problems that have affected both your newer Lion and Maverick programs with all its great technology. Continuing to go in the direction as Apple is going in relation to our Snow Leopard Mac program (by discontinuing this great program as well as support for it) I believe could prove to be a huge and fatal business mistake. Consider enhancing Snow Leopard; in other words continue to build on such positive potential in this way more stable program than your newer ones. Again, please re-consider your decision(s). Any thoughts?

The gotofail error in 10.9 was a one-off and the OSs above 10.6 have greater sandboxing for security.) I still think Snow is a great OS and should receive continued support. It will inevitably become less secure without that.

Best business and greeting card software
Are there any suggestions out there for the best business and greeting card software for MacBook? I used to get PrintMaster, but I used that on my Windows side and would now prefer to use an Apple-based program. Thank you.
I don't think that this is the answer you were expecting, but, after trying various print programs, and not getting the look I wanted, I signed up for an online system called SendOutCards. You can personalize real greeting cards printed on recycled paper with pictures you upload, text and art. The system prints, stuffs, addresses and stamps the envelope and puts it into snail mail for you. You can have it sent directly to the recipient or to you to hand to the recipient. You can even include gift cards and the like.
A personalized card costs about $1 plus postage. Much easier than fiddling with art layouts, special paper, colored ink etc. You can even try the SendOutCards system for free. Videos and information on the website:

Does anyone know a home finance program that works with Snow Leopard. I understand that Quicken Essentials has received low ratings. I am looking for a basic program.
I started out with Quicken on a PC about ten years ago. When I moved to Mac, I found the Mac version severely lacking. Still, I stuck with it and its dated OS9 feel for another year before giving up (I really wanted Intuit to publish a decent Mac version of this app).
I switched to iBank, and after a few months of constant, unnecessary software patches and sluggish register entry response, I was ready to switch back.
Intuit finally released Quicken 2007 for Mac, which looks a tiny bit more Aqua, but is still the same stripped-down, half-baked version of the Windows application Quicken users have come to know and love. What's more, when I try to register my new Quicken 2007, I get constant server errors. And checking the quicken.com boards for Mac-related help is like waiting for Godot.
But, for all it's quirks and brutish lack of Tigerian or Leopardian style, Quicken really is still the best app for personal finance on the Mac, and that's not saying much. Every other app I've tried (and I tried several) came up severely lacking in comparison.
You'd think those greedy bloodsuckers at Intuit would be falling all over themselves to port a graphically rich version of their flagship software to Mac -even if it is only for another 10% market share. I guess we'll just have to keep holding our breath. -
Mac personal finance program...help!
I have recently switched from a pc to a mac...the only problem i'm having is finding a mac finance program that is comparable to quicken for pc. The feature i most need but cannot find is the ability to enter multiple manual transactions by just hitting enter in between..i have tried quicken essentials, moneywiz and now Ibank...none have this feature..
does anyone know of a program that does have this feature???

Intuit has a version of Quicken 2007 that is compatible with Lion,

Perhaps it will have the feature that you are looking for. As a long-time Quicken for Mac user, the current situation is frustrating. Intuit has allowed it's Mac personal finance products to fall far behind their Windows counterparts. Alternatives, like iBank, are getting better but still don't offer all the features of Quicken 2007.

Ipod not recognized by windows and causes programs to crash
for some reason my ipod is acting weird. the other day it froze an so i restored it and it was working fine. now i connected it to my firewire (my ipod is a click wheel one) and when i hooked it up to my firewire to update on itunes, i noticed that like all of my windows that were open started to freeze including itunes. when i disconnected the ipod everything works fine. and now i cant restore the ipod because its not recognized by my computer. i put it in disk mode but when i hook it up to the firewire, it doesnt show on my computer and my programs freeze.
can someone please help me. i couldnt try the 5 r's or whatever because the ipod freezes when connected. and i tried http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=461952&tstart=75
but it didint work cuz i waited like 10 minutes after hooking up my ipod and it stil was not being recognized.

custom Windows XPthanks for the info guys, ive never used my ipod on a mac (not that im aware of) and i would try using the usb but my computer does not have that 2.0 high speed usb thing so im forced to use the firewire. its weird cuz yesterday i uninstalled itunes and the ipod and when i installed everything, my computer recognized the ipod and it updated but now its doing the same thing again. dont nkow what the problem is? u guys think its the firewire?
