Business area in Cross System
Hi,,
Kindly tell me while we run WE05 for IDOC List then we get the message No cross system business area has been assigned to business area BA11
Send me urgent solution.
With Regards,
Samrat
The business area has to be assigned to a Cross-system business
area in your ALE-customizing. This can be done via the customizing path:
Call transaction SALE
-> Modelling and implementing Business Processes
-> Cross-Application settings
-> Global Organizational Units
-> Cross-system business areas
Good luck, Kyoko

Hi Experts,
I want to create a new Business Area in my system and my worry is will that have an impact on my live system.I tried out a possiblilty by creating a new Bus Area T-Code OX03 and created a new Profit and CostCenter for the same in QA Server.
I tried out posting Journals for the same and the output was ok in FBL1/3/5N.
We are using SAP ECC 6.0 with Sp Purpose Ledger functionality.Do i need to do any further customization for the same.Since i want to create this new BA in Live server now.
Regards
RahulBusiness Area is an org. unit which you would want to fill in your documents, so you could draw business area-wise financial statements. I think you are good to go with what you have done in QA system, if you do the same in your Prod. system. But, what would happen to the documents that already exist in Prod. system. You must come out with a way to populate those documents with the business area, if applicable. If not (I mean, if it is a completely new business area for use in future only), your job is easy.

Substitution of Business Area for Tax Line Items for Invoices posted in MM
Hi
We have one Business Area for every company code. A substitution rule has been created to populate Business Area in Tax Line Items, while booking vendor invoice. The substitution rule has been defined as
Prerequite
Company Code = 1234 and GL = 1323232
Substitution
Business Area = 6668
The system is working fine, when the Vendor Invoice is posted through FI. However, when the vendor invoice is generated through MIRO or MIR7, the Business Area is not substituted.
In Table VWTYGB01, we have maintained BSEG-GSBER as a field allowed for substitution with Boolean Class 09.
We have created the susbstitution rule for Text and Assignment also and the rules are working fine for all document posted through FI and MM

Sanil
Sanil K BhandariHi
Business Area is a sensitive field, agreed. However, the substitution rule is working fine for FI posted documents and the issue is in MM generated documents.

hi
see the below link for config steps for business area.
http://help.sap.com/printdocu/core/Print46c/en/data/pdf/FIBUSI/FIBUSI.pdf
Business Area. The system posts costs and revenue according to the business area. The business area can be equivalent to the:
sales area (if the accounts are to be posted according to sales)
plant/division (if the accounts are to be posted according to products)
The business area is defined in Customizing for Sales.
o Business area. A unit in an enterprise, grouping product and market combinations as homogeneously as possible for the purpose of developing unified business policy.
o Financial Accounting (FI). A business area is an organizational unit within financial accounting which represents a separate area of operations or responsibilities within an organization. Financial accounting transactions can be allocated to a specific business area. -
Hi,
I am trying to post one entry with B/S GL a/c as below:
Dr. 400001 - 1000 INR with Business Area 1000
Cr. 400001 - 1000 INR without Business Area
I.e., I am nullifying (the value) the Balances at the Business Area level, but system is taking the Business Area in the second line item also as below:
Dr. 400001 - 1000 INR with Business Area 1000
Cr. 400001 - 1000 INR with Business Area 1000 (the system automatically picking the Business Area from the first line item - which we dont want).
Could any body help on this ASAP?
Regards
JS
Edited by: JS on Aug 28, 2009 7:55 PMThe business area field will appear at the time of posting the transaction, because when you pick a GL account for posting the system will check in the field status group of the relevant GL account. Check in FS00 and find the field status then go to OBC4, there check in additional account assignment where you will fin business area as optional or required etc...
You can make the filed as suppressed. -
Chaning business area in asset master in AS02
Dear SAP GURUS,
We have an asset created in the system and we assigned a business area to that asset.
We have carried the depreciation run for the asset.
Now we want to change the busiess area of that asset to a different business area.
The system is not allowing to change the business area when we tried to that in "AS02".
Can somebody please help me in guiding about the following issues:-
1) Can the business area be changed once assigned and postings has beeen carried out with the same business area?
2) If yes, then please help how?
3) Will the business area change will be effective from the current date or it will affect the previous records too?
In spro we have one settings which is Time-Independent Management of Organize.if i will use what is disadvantage and advantage.
Thanks alot
SaiDear Sai,
In relation specifically to changing the Business area I have reviewed the documentation and it is not possible to change the Business area via As02 once created.
Please could you review the document below which explains the situation clearly .
Changing Organizational Units Relevant to the Balance Sheet
There are two ways of changing the asset#s assignment to organizational units that are relevant to the balance sheet (that is, changing assignment to a business area, or changing the cost center, which in turn affects the profit center).
The first method: changing the assignment using the master data transaction However, you can only use this method if the Business area and Cost center master data fields are not managed as time-dependent. You can set the business area and cost to time-independent in Customizing for Asset Accounting. Choose Master Data. When you change one of these organizational units in the asset master record, the system automatically creates a transfer document with the
acquisition and the retirement, as well as a master data change document. The system uses the system date as the standard default posting date for the automatically created document. However, you can also change this posting date using a substitution (refer to Validation and Substitution).
It is not possible to change only one particular time interval. Changes that take effect on a specific date are also not possible. For both of these reasons, the system is not able to create a history for the assignment to a cost center/profit center. After a change is made, the system displays the new business area or cost center/profit center in all subsequent reports (even if the report is for a time period prior to the change).
The other option is to change the assignment of business area or cost center/profit center by posting an asset transfer to a new master record , rather than making the change in the asset master data. You have to use this method if the Business area and Cost center master data fields are managed as time-dependent. When you use this method, the system displays the business area or cost center that is valid for the given time period in all reports.
No matter which of these methods you use, the system ensures continuity in your business area balance sheets and profit center balance sheets.

If you deselect this message, the system does not issue an error message if the given business area differs from the business area of the account assignment object. The system always assigns to the business area of the account assignment object.Hi MArk,
Thx for your Reply.
K088 is our Controlling Area.
I3000 is Cost Centre which I assigned to My Depreciation G/L in OkB9
7210 and 7220 are Business area.
We are not using any Internal Order.
In Fact, here Business area is activated and I have put "2" indicator in the Assignment and there in Business area Details I have maintained the Valuation Area/ Business Area/Cost Centre . Also all Assets have Cost Centre and Business Area assigned appropriately.

Business Area-Cost Center error while doing VL09 (PGI Reversal)
Hi Friends,
Kindly go through the "ERROR" message and "IMPORTANT" point as mentioned below:This is happening while reversal of PGI in VL09.
IMPORTANT: Just to make you aware, the cost center in error (CONSDSPL) was nowhere assigned in FS00 or OKB9. Also to state that at the time of this error some different cost center was assigned in FS00 which was having business area SUGR. So PGIs are picking up two business areas i.e. 1.DSPL (from Plant-Division-BussA setting) & 2. SUGR (for P&L GL from FS00)
Following error coming while doing PGI reversal:
ERROR -
> BAL1/CONSDSPL CTR belong to business area DSPL not SUGR
Message no. KI188
Diagnosis
Account assignment object BAL1/CONSDSPL, type CTR is assigned to business area DSPL. You made an explicit assignment to business area SUGR.
System Response
The posting row may contain only one business area.
Procedure
Perform one of the following actions.
Make an explicit assignment to business area DSPL. To do so you must set the "Business area" field as entry-ready in Customizing.
Enter an account assignment object assigned to business area SUGR.
Change the assignment of BAL1/CONSDSPL to business area DSPL. Note the document number and continue processing the document after changing the assignment.
PLEASE GUIDE. NEEDED ANSWER BADLY.Business area filed in cost center CONSDSPL is DSPL (what it should be). In this scenario, they have assigned SGPRODCTN cost center in GL master wherein business area is SUGR.
That means, when accounting entry is getting generated, it will show two business areas. One will be fetched from "Plant-Division-BussA" setting (SPRO) & the other from GL. Also to make you aware that here the business area should be DSPL, but since they assigned wrong cost center in GL master, the entries are going to SUGR as well.
Most important thing to notice out here is that when this error came "no default account assignment was done through OKB9" The cost center showing in error viz. CONSDSPL was nowhere assigned. So the question is from where the system is fetching this cost center? -
Business Place/ Section Code through Business Area
Can any one please tell me the way of writing subtitution for business place.
For example if I put Business area 1000 then system will take the Business place as KOLK or if I put Business area 2000 then system will take the Business place as DELH.
It will be very helpful for me, if anyone give me the details answer. As thanks points will be assigned.
Regards,
SajibDear Sajib,
You need to do the following substitution.
Please make use of the botton options available in the substition screen of entering the following.
First you need to mention to which transaction it should apply, then enter what is the check and what should be the result.
Sample is below:
Substitution 1
Where :- If T- Code = ( MIRO OR FB60)
Check :- IF Business Area = 1000
Result :- Business Place = KOLK ie, ( BUPLA = KOLK)
Substitution 2
Transaction :- ( MIRO OR FB60)
Check :- IF Business Area = 2000
Result :- Business Place = DELH ie, ( BUPLA = DELH)
Thanks & Regards

Validation for Profit Center & Business Area
Experts,
If I want to add new validation rule for another profit center and business area which is not in the current rule defined.
Prerequisit will remain same.
Check : is as below for other profit center and business area. Message will also remain same which is already defined.
CHECK:
OR
( BSEG-PRCTR >= 'VS0001' AND BSEG-PRCTR <= 'VSZZZZ'
AND
BSEG-GSBER = 'SPFN' )
OR
( BSEG-PRCTR = 'EBT021' AND BSEG-GSBER = 'SPFN' )
OR
Requirement: we want to add new profit center EBT022 and Business area SPFN.
Please explain how can I achieve this? Do I need to add one more line as below in between the whole CHECK Rule specified?
OR
( BSEG-PRCTR = 'EBT022' AND BSEG-GSBER = 'SPFN' )
- NileshGaurav,
Before maintaining this validation rule, when we try to post transaction. We have tried with other combination of Business area and desired business area. Message appears "Profit Center not consistant with Business Area".
What is the logic behind this? This is just for my understanding..
If we create rule for new Profit Center for desired Business Area then possibly system will not throw error message.
Please correct me if I am wrong?
