Business area in FI changing without using substitutions

Hi all,
Is it possible to change the business area when we post a clearing document?
For example, we need to pay the line item that have business area 3000. Then we use transaction F110 to create a payment then a clearing docuement will be created with business area 3000. Can we configure it to change to Business area 1000 when we do the payment.
I tried to implement a FI substitution but Business area field cannot be changed(OSS Note 42615). we can do that by changing standard program but it is not recommended by SAP.
Any idea on how to do this? Configuration, BTE or any user exits? Point will be rewarded for any helpful answer.
Thanks,
Chaiphon

  • Capture context change without using UDF

    Hi,
I need to find context change of a field without using UDF.
I know we can do it in an UDF by comparing with ResultList.CC.
But do we have any graphical constant that notifies a context change?
    regards,
    Piyush

    Hi,
There is no graphical constant by which you can identify a context change without using UDF. However, if you leave the context of the field at the level of the immediate parent and map accordingly, you can handle the contexts directly in your GUI mapping. This however would also depend on your mapping requirements.

  • Impact Analysis: Business Area, Profit Center changed for Sales Order type

    Hi All,
Can you please let me know the impact of changing the Business Area and Profit Center for Sales Order Document types.
    Scenario:
Let's say that sales document type ZOR has been used for sometime. On this document x number of sales orders have been raised, delivered and invoiced over the years.
Now, if you change the Business Area and Profit Center what would be the business impact.
    thanks,

    Hi,
First of all itu2019s not a good business practice to change the Business area and Profit Centre.
However if at all l you change the Business area and Profit centre the following is the impact::
Business Area: effects the sales order in accounts assignment at Header level.
Profit centre: effects the accounting part at Item level
Overall in MIS reporting w.r.t Profit and Business Analysis in Finance will be affected.
    Thanks and regards

  • Making a configuration change without using admin console

I am using the Platform Edition of App Server 7 so I don't have access to the web-based admin console.
I need to make a configuration change and the only directions I have are for the admin console.
Can anybody give me some pointers on what file to edit to acomplish the procedure below?
    8. Log in to the Sun ONE Application Server administration console.
    9. Select the application server Instance on which you installed the Identity Server.
    10. Click JVM Settings and then JVM Options.
    11. In the JVM Option field, enter the following string: -Dhttp.keepAlive=false
    12. Click Add and then Save.

    I think I've found it...
The file is server.xml and it is located at:
    /var/opt/SUNWappserver7/domains/domain1/server1/config
There is a section under <java-config> with about 14 lines containing various <jvm-options>
I'll try adding this directive to the end of the <jvm-options> as follows:
    <jvm-options>-Dhttp.keepAlive=false</jvm-options>

  • Is there any way to verify that your installed plugins are up to date without using the Plugincheck page via Tools/AddOns/Plugins/Find Updates ?

I installed Firefox 3.6.13 on a new computer and updated the plugins via the Plugincheck page. Now when I visit the Plugincheck page, it says "No plugins detected" although several plugins are installed as indicated in the Addons dialog box and About:Plugins page. The Plugincheck page used to show all the installed plugins and flag them as either up to date, out of date, or unable to detect the version.

You used the data.  Verizon can not see what it was sued for.  However your phone can see whats apps used the data.  go to settings-data usage- there will be a place that says data usage cycle.  line the dates up with your cycle.  then there will be a bar graph below that   extend bother white bars one all the way to the left and one all the way to the right.  after those are extended below that will be a list of apps,  there should be one that used over 2 gb and that will show you what app used that data in her purse

    hi raj,
Could you please explain more about assignment and substitution? did you implement this before?
I am in doubt because OSS Note 42615 said that GSBER (Business area) must not be substituted. Therefore, if you implement it and there is no problem, I will do the same.

  • Business Area Substitution in OBBH

    Hi Experts,
I am trying to substitute business area in accounting document generated during post goods issue in VL01N or VL02N.
Our business requirement is as follows:
Profit center (eg. PRCTR1)is assigned in material master. But while creating sales order another profit center (eg. PRCTR2)has to get picked up through 0KEM (Profit center substitution). System is taking correctly the second profit center (eg. PRCTR2) which we have given in susbtitution.
System is identifying the cost center which is assigned to PRCTR2 through OKB9. Accordingly system is picking business area say 01 from the cost center master record during PGI for accounting document.
But our requirement is to change this business area 01 to 02 through FI substitution.
we have written logic in OBBH as follows:
    BKPF-BUKRS = '100' AND BKPF-BLART = 'WL' AND
    BSEG-HKONT = '1954' OR BSEG-HKONT = '5751' AND
    BSEG-WERKS = '100'
Please adivse the logic anything further to add  to replace the business area and also suggest if the substitution does not work in FI area for other application area tcodes like VL01N / VL02N.
    Thanks in advance.
    Venkat

Substitution to business area is one of taboos SAP clearly dissuades from in OSS notes.
Business area is controlled by below customizings, and any more requirement should not be addressed.
IMG: Enterprise Structure > Assignment > Logistics - General > Assign Business Area to Plant/Valuation Area and Division (OMJ7)
IMG: Enterprise Structure > Assignment > Sales and Distribution > Business Area Account Assignment > Assign Business Area by Sales Area (OVF1, OVF2)
The relationship between cost center and business area is 1 by 1. I guess you need to have separate profit center/cost center for the different business area.
I know it can be done. GB01 right? We did that in the past. To be precise, one guy did that. That guy later realized he messed up the standard functionality F.5E.

  • Business Area Prerequisite

    Hi Guru's,
My Client requried activation of Business area and new Plant as well and they are not using  profit center Version 4.6b
    1. What all prerequisite to be taken care for activation of Business Area in an existing company code.
    2. If i activate business area wise balance sheet is there any impact on existing data or all existing cost center will ask business area while posting
    3. Client requried only P & L - Do we need to activate business area balance sheet for this ?
    Expecting experienced guidance.
    Thanks in Advance - Kumar

    Hi,
It is impossible to predict exactly system behaviour for each individual customer system after activation of Business Area, but  the best time to activate business area is at the creation of a new financial year. It is extremely difficult to add business
area after postings to a cost center in the middle of a fiscal year.
After activating the Business area financial statement in OB65, you have to make sure that all CO objects where a business area can be entered, have the correct one. These are for example the cost centers (ks03) and the orders (ko03).
After activating the Business area financial statement in OB65, an entry in the table RF048 will be created for every document posted. The program SAPF180A/SAPF180 will process only the documents that have an entry in this table.
Also if the balance for business areas is activated, the order necessarily requires an entry for the business area - how else
could the data for the balance be collected or traced - and the business area is a required field. If on the other hand an order
carries costs, the business area cannot be changed because e.g. CO-documents without or with another business area already exist connected with this order.
As of the standard there is no tool to make the BA assignement to documents which have already been posted. The indicator "Business Area Fin Statement" has consequences not only in FI but also in CO, MM and SD.

  • Business area to be grayed out or hidden for IM program position

    Hi Experts,
We want to make the business area field to be grayed out or hidden in IM program position.
We have tried to find of the Field selection for IM program position in configuration, but unfortunately we have not found out any configuration path for the same.
Then we tried to control the business area value by putting any validation / Substitution in IM program position.
But we have not found any validation or substitution for IM program in Customization.
Can you please help in the above issue ??
    Regards,
    Pradip Shelke

    Hi,
There are no configuration nodes nor any substitution or validation available in SAP (standard) that will help in controlling the business area field. The only option available would be to look at user exits:
AAIC0001 | IM Summarization: Processing values after selection
AAIC0002 | IM Summarization: Processing of assigned entities after sel.
AAIC0003 | IM Summarization: Definition of User-Defined Characteristics
Please note that business area is a general field that is used across modules in SAP therefore cannot be restricted via authorizations (unless all effects are considered).

    Hi MArk,
    Thx for your Reply.
    K088 is our Controlling Area.
I3000 is Cost Centre which I assigned to  My Depreciation G/L in OkB9
7210 and 7220 are Business area.
We are not using any Internal Order.
In Fact, here Business area is activated and I have put "2" indicator in the Assignment and there in Business area Details I have maintained the  Valuation Area/ Business Area/Cost Centre . Also all Assets have Cost Centre and Business Area assigned appropriately.

  • SQL to retrieve business areas, users and their reports?

    Hi,
I've been able to retrieve by sql, users and their reports or business areas and thier users, but I'm unable to retrieve business areas, users and reports in the same sql.
I've been looking in eul tables without success. I guess someone has already done that?
    Thanks

    Hello
The problem you have is that you are trying to mix objects that don't go together.
As you have already determined, you can have a script to query users who have access to business areas, and you can also  have a script to query users who have access to or own reports. However there is no link between business areas and reports.
Discoverer reports are validated against folders, not business areas. If a report uses 2 folders and there are 10 business areas that contain those folders which business area do you think the report was written against? The answer is none of them. You just happened to have a business area open at the time the report was written but truthfully you could have used any of them. Therefore, if a user reopens a workbook that uses folders found in multiple business areas, Discoverer will default to the first business area by name that contains all of the folders used and that the user has been granted access to.
    Hope this helps
    Best wishes
    Michael
