I already have website hosted in BC. As a new subscriber to Creative Cloud, will my existing website be included in my subscription?

You are correct that you will still have to pay the $29 a month for Creative cloud if you want that, however you save big time because you will now have a full hosting account for your own website with all the bells and whistles that won't cost you anything a month.

Protecting/hiding Business Catalyst website from the public and search engines while in development.

How can we protect/hide our Business Catalyst-based website from the public and search engines while we are developing it? It seems like anyone can access it, even though it is not complete.
We are using Dreamweaver to build our website, if that helps. Is there any way to have a test instance of BC that is password protected for development and testing? Thank you for your ideas.

I have built BC sites for over 5 years and only one case for me of a client posting out an unfinished site got it indexed by google.

My website looks nothing like how business catalyst publishes it when i launch it on my own FTP.

As soon as i Published my website onto the net on my FTP, none of the animations loaded, and non of my images looked like/act how they were supposed to, i rotated pictures, croped them on the program but they all were diplayed as the original image. the background is not filled with a colour, which this wasnt the case on business catalyst. the website looks oddly scrabbled with images everywhere with text that does not act as accordions etc.

The problem is the scripts folder is not on the server.
If you're using File > Upload to FTP Host... and errors are being displayed, I need to know exactly what the errors are (generally screenshots are easiest).
I recommend you choose "All Files" when using File > Upload to FTP Host... this one time, since the previous incomplete upload may have left Muse confused about what files are and are not on the server.

Hello,
You can make the changes in .muse file and then publish it to the existing site.
It will automatically detect your old site when you click on File>Publish ONLY if you are using the same Adobe Id to upload the site which you used earlier to upload.
You can check which Adobe Id you are using by going into Edit>Preferences option and under Publish with Account youwill find the Adobe Id which is being used to upload the site.
you can change the Id (if required) by clicking on the dropdown and click on Switch accounts.

Woud like to ask if there is a way to export the data from Business Catalyst driven website. Building a new website with different backend. How can I get the data out, or there is any some kind of export or access to db?

We using Catalyst for website to list properties and brokers.
How am I gonna export this? And we have a lots of text etc. These data are stored in database (no FTP). How can we export all website data (sql, mongo, postgres, oracle, mssql). Is there anything I can press like EXPORT? I am clicking on Reports and Website Content but its just spinning for 10 min and not doing anything....Thanks please help...

     I need assistance with transferring an existing website - imagessays.com - (designed with Dreamweaver CS4) to my Creative Cloud CS6 account - and to web hosting by CS6 Business Catalyst.
   … step-by-step instructions would be most useful. I've got the Dreamweaver CS6 onDemand book, etc., ... I guess I’m just not enough of a geek to work my way through the steps and to get my site back moving ahead online.
    Beyond that, need advice as to how to repair a couple of non-funcitonal links on the site (check out imagessays.com to see a couple of pics that don't work). I'm looking forward to uploading more content and to do major upgrade to the site, but am unable to do so ... need technical support re how to do these simple (should be) things.
    Since setting up the website over 5 years ago, I have migrated from Dreamweaver CS3 to CS4 .... and now to CS6 ... and from a Dell XPS 450 running Windows XP to a Mac Pro desktop running Mac OS X.
These changes of version / machine / OS have separated me from the ability to do the one simple thing that I need to do with this straightforward website, that is: upload new pitchers and writins .
I look forward to assistance and support for this.

I'd open a local copy of the site in Dreamweaver CS6 and use the steps described in the video

My client has a website / URL in use. I have designed a new website using adobe Muse that will replace their existing website, and I would like to use business catalyst to host the new site. What do I need to do to transfer the URL to business catalyst, and post the new site live?

You can use their BC login details and use them , which on publish the site will be under their account.
Please change the BC login from Edit > Preferences > Publish > Switch Accounts , for Mac it would Adobe Muse > Preferences

Once you have created a business catalyst site, all you need to do is to upload your existing site content to the your business catalyst site. I am assuming you have a local back up of you site.

How can I signup for Creative Cloud?

What benefits do I get with Creative Cloud ?
     In addition to acccess to all Creative Suite programs, Lightroom and others in one place, a Creative Cloud membership enables you to host up to five Business Catalyst websites. These sites will be webBasics sites. For a full comparison between plans, see this page. If you purchase Muse or Dreamweaver as individual products in Creative Cloud, you can host one Business Catalyst website for each of them.

If I am an existing Paid Partner and I have a few employees for whom I paid Creative Cloud subscriptions, how many websites can I claim?
     You will have 5 websites for each employee. However, you will pay different licenses for all of them. Before purchasing these licenses, please contact Adobe Support to add these users to your partner portal. After you have added users to your partner portal, you will be able to access all the websites from it.
*NOTE: If you have already add employees to your partner portal, then everything will work automatically.
If you don’t want to access all your websites from the same Partner Portal, you don’t have to do anything.
How can I set permissions for my employees regarding these websites? What permissions can I set?
      This will be part of a later Creative Cloud that will be launched this year.
What happens if I cancel or stop paying my Creative Cloud subscription?
     Each live website (among the free websites under your Creative Cloud subscription) will stay live for an additional 30 days. This gives you time to decide whether you want to keep the site(s) live or remove them. You will be prompted to upgrade your website to a regular Business Catalyst site plan.
     After 30 days, your website will enter in temporary mode. When entering the temporary mode, your custom domain name will be removed from the website. In order to reactivate it, pay for your website directly with Business Catalyst.
     If you are inactive on a temporary website, it will automatically be deleted.

I have logged in on Dreamweaver CS6 and I cannot see my partner site. How can I edit it?
This is a known issue. For paid partners (Standard or Premium) you can use the workaround described below:
export one of your sites as an .ste file
Open the .ste file in another text editor, and modify it
Replace the :
httpaddress with your partner's site URL address
secureURL with your partner site secure URL
siteid with the site ID of your partner site
Save the .ste file with another name
Import this .ste file into Dreamwaver, choose a local root folder

I'm trying to login to Dreamweaver CS6 with my Business Catalyst credentials, and it doesn't work. What credentials do I need?
     You can login to Dreamweaver CS6 with your Adobe ID. If you haven't merged your BC account with an Adobe ID account, you'll need to merge it and then you should be able to login.
How do I access sites in Dreamweaver with an Adobe ID other than the one linked to my Creative Cloud or Dreamweaver subscription?
      Dreamweaver defaults to using the Adobe ID from your subscription to avoid the inconvenience of logging in multiple times. To use a different ID, just click the "Logout" button in the lower-right hand corner of the Business Catalyst panel and log in with a different Adobe ID:
You'll need to have a file open in an existing BC site for the "Logout" button to be visible. Logging out will not affect the Adobe ID used in conjunction with your Dreamweaver subscription. To change the Adobe ID for your subscription, click Help -> Deactivate.

At this point the upgrade workflow is not functional just yet, as mentioned here: http://forums.adobe.com/docs/DOC-2153
So the webBasics Creative Cloud cannot be upgraded directly to the webBasics+ level for now.
But a workaround for this case would be to re-publish your Dreamweaver/Muse project (I suppose you've used one of these solutions to build the site in the first place, right?) in a new trial/temporary site -> let us know what is the URL of that site (don't push it live) -> we will change the site plan from our backend to webBasics+ -> you will be able to publish it using the webBasics+ site plan.
Please note that this is going to be a separate charge, besides your Creative Cloud subscription. The monthly fee for webBasics+ will be $12.21/month, as mentioned here: http://www.adobe.com/products/business-catalyst/buying-guide-subscriptions.html
Another way to use the webBasics+ plan would be to simply trigger a new trial site here: https://syd.worldsecuresystems.com/PartnerPortal/FreeTrialSignup.aspx#splash with the same Adobe ID as the one used to buy the Creative Cloud subscription and take that site live separately.

I know I need to start a blog, but want to integrate it into my existing Muse-designed website, which is hosted with Adobe Business Catalyst? Is there any way to do this? (I want my main master page navigation bar to have a link to the blog...which I can't do unless the page is part of the site, right?)

I'm trying to redirect my existing site to business catalyst

I'm trying to redirect my existing domain to business catalyst but it won't accept the domain name saying 'domain already exists, please delete all records associated with this domain'. I have already got my current hoster to redirect to the european ip address given. Does anyone know why I can't add ny domain?

If you are using iWeb V 3 you can publish direct to your new hosting account using the iWeb FTP and the site stucture will be preserved...
