Business Catalyst Part of Cloud?

I heard I would get 5 free hosted sites if I were a Could member... Does Business Catalyst come in the Cloud package or do I need to purchase it separately?

It is a feature of Creative Cloud too.

  • Business Catalyst and Creative Cloud - I'm completely lost - help!

Okay, I am a Creative Cloud subscriber. It is my understanding that I can host five websites with Business Catalyst. However, I did not design my site using either Dreamweaver or Muse and so I just want to ftp my files into one of my sites. But I can't figure out how to access a control panel for Business Catalyst through Creative Cloud (the cloud control panel just keeps telling me to download Dreamweaver and Muse). I tried access it without the cloud, through Business Catalysts website directly, but all it would do is sign me up for a trial version as my Adobe login did not work for Business Catalyst. This whole system is completely confusing to me - I feel like Alice tumbling down the rabbit hole.
What am I missing? Is there a panel that I can access through the Cloud that will allow me to ftp my files into one of my sites? Or, if I go to Business Catalyst directly is there a way to link it back to my Creative Cloud panel? How do I set up the 5 sites I get with being a Cloud member if I'm not using Dreamweaver or Muse?
Any information or point in the right direction would be helpful!
    Thanks,
    Deona

  • Business Catalyst and Creative Cloud not Working

I have a $2000 Premiere Business Catalyst Partner account.  I set up my BC account and my Adobe ID years ago under different e-mails.  When I tried to integrate my BC and Adobe Creative Cloud e-mails I got an error saying that I have to create a new Adobe ID.
I created a new ID.  Now with Dreamweaver I'm getting the following error that I don't have a Partner Account!!!  I do have a partner account, it's just under a different e-mail.  Am I to stomach the fact that I will not be ablt to use my BC account on Creative Cloud simply because they are under 2 different e-mails?  I've been waiting to use BC and Creative Cloud for months, what a dissapointment.  This takes all the appeal out of Dreamweaver, Muse, and more, if I can't use Business Catalyst with Creative Cloud.  Please help....

  • Business Catalyst in Creative Cloud

I have a question regarding Business Catalyst.  It seems that with my Creative Cloud subscription I can create 5 sites in either Dreamweaver or Muse, and upload to Business Catalyst.  But when I log on to manage my site it seems I get parts of Business Catalyst, ie. just the reports and domain setup?  So basically I can't do anything further with my site via BC it's just a host.  Just want to make sure I'm not missing anything.  Thanks.

    Hi Sean
With Creative Cloud you can create unlimited number of sites with Muse & Dreamweaver and from these sites only 100 can have a temporary status.
With Creative Cloud Muse and Dreamweaver you can create only WebBasics sites, in order to allow you to redeem your 5 free webBasics subscriptions. Should you need to use a different BC plan, just let us know and we will change the plan for you.
Also, if you are interested to use BC to create sites for your customers, contact us http://www.businesscatalyst.com/contact and we will provide you more details & help.

  • Business Catalyst Account & Creative Cloud Accounts need to be separate

I have Creative Cloud Membership though another Adobe ID.
But my Business Catalyst account needs to stay separate from it.
(My Creative Cloud membership is part of my full time job, whereas my BC account is freelance work.)
I created the Business Catalyst / Adobe ID, but when I attempt to log into Business Catalyst through Dreamweaver I am just sent back to the Creative Cloud Membership log in screen.
    Help!

Don't know what you mean by same details. They're different Adobe IDs.  My original Business Catalyst account was [email protected], and it needs to stay that way. I converted it to an Adobe ID, but it is not the ID that Creative Cloud services and the suite were purchased with.
These two IDs need to remain separate, I cannot use my full-time-job's account to log into BC.

You use Muse or Dreamweaver to create and update websites. You use Business Catalyst to host them.

  • Business Catalyst and Creative Cloud: double-payment

Last March (2012)  I subscribed to the most basic level of business catalyst ($97.00 per year) to publish my website.
At that point I didn't know that Creative Cloud would include a basic subscription to Business Catalyst.
In May (2012) I subscribed to the Creative Cloud which included this basic Business Catalyst.
Now (in March 2013) Adobe has written to me for $97.00 again to pay for Business Catalyst and they have sent me an email saying they will discontinue service in 7 days.
How do I discontinue the $97.00 Business Catalyst account and transfer hosting to my Creative Cloud account?
Last time I tried to do something like this, it was hours and hours and hours to resolve it.
Am I better simply paying $97.00 for Business Catalyst even though it is included in Creative Cloud simply because I will have uninterrupted service?
If there is a chance that I could reconcile this without undue pain and struggle, could someone tell me how?
And whether it is indeed possible?
I have a very small but well-established business using Muse. I really can't afford the interruption nor hours and hours of fighting to resolve this.
    I would appreciate any help.
    Gay Ann Rogers [email protected]

    Hey GARRogers,
If you have any sites that have been redeemed as Creative Cloud sites, we cannot change the billing for these sites and once your Creative Cloud subscription expires, so will the site. However, sites that are being billed directly by Business Catalyst are separate to Creative Cloud. So if your Creative Cloud subscription expires, the sites being billed directly by Business Catalyst will remain unaffected.
If you have any sites that have been redeemed as a free Creative Cloud site, I recommend creating a new trial site via your Partner Portal (http://www.businesscatalyst.com/Admin/Index.aspx?to=PartnerPortal), and either republish your site from Muse to this new trial site or if you did not use Muse, migrate the data over as per this article: http://kb.worldsecuresystems.com/203/bc_2038.html.
Once you have done this, take the site live via your Partner Portal > [select site] > Upgrade and if applicable, remove the domain from your previous site and re-add it to this new site.
Feel free to PM me directly if you would like me to look at the billing for any of your sites.

This question was posted in response to the following article: http://helpx.adobe.com/business-catalyst/partner/upgrade-temporary-site.html

I have enrolled in BC webbasic paying monthly. (enrolled today aug 8th, 2013 and I have a muse site that I developed and published. After publishing the site I visited BC admin page hoping to launch the site but could not find the button to launch a site.

  • Business Catalyst with Creative Cloud

I have gotten adobe cc and hoe do i get premium access, it is saying i dont.

You do not become a partner with BC and CC. CC only gives you what used to be called "webbasic" websites from BC. The basic ones.

Since this was marked as answered but not really answered in my first post, I'll post it again ;-)
When building a mobile version of a site using jQueryMobile how do you get the detail content such as blog articles or news releases working where the page is actually created by BC?
I can show blog post lists and news lists but can't go to the detail page of those?

My detail posts are configured very plain jane for this customer - I simply used

Which embeds the detail post on my mobile page using jquery...

  • Creative Cloud and existing Business Catalyst partners - FAQ

This FAQ will cover topics related to Creative Cloud, for existing Business Catalyst users.
How can I signup for Creative Cloud?
Your Business Catalyst account should have been already updated right now with your Adobe ID. If you haven’t updated it yet, visit the Adobe ID – Business Catalyst account update FAQ.
What benefits do I get with Creative Cloud ?
In addition to acccess to all Creative Suite programs, Lightroom and others in one place, a Creative Cloud membership enables you to host up to five Business Catalyst websites. These sites will be webBasics sites. For a full comparison between plans, see this page. If you purchase Muse or Dreamweaver as individual products in Creative Cloud, you can host one Business Catalyst website for each of them.
My web design shop has several employees, each with their own Business Catalyst login with access our Partner Portal. Do we need Adobe IDs for each of our employees?
Yes. Since these users are partner users, they need to use an Adobe ID. Visit the Adobe ID – Business Catalyst account update FAQ for more details
I have a paid website that I want to host using my Creative Cloud subscription. Can I do this?
This is not possible. You need to create a new webBasics temporary website in Business Catalyst and push it live.
Can I move a trial/live Creative Cloud site under a different Creative Cloud subscription?
This is not possible right now.
Do I get any discount if I upgrade a Creative Cloud website to a higher Business Catalyst plan such as webMarketing or webCommerce?
Currently there are no upgrade discounts for Creative Cloud members.
What are the limitations of the webBasics websites that come with Business Catalyst and Creative Cloud membership?
You will be limited to 100 MB of storage and 1 additional user (such as your customer). You will not get email, SMS or newsletters for this web plan.
Can I buy more users? Can I buy more space? Can I buy email?
We are working on creating this workflow but at this point we don’t have an exact release date for this feature.
How can I upgrade the webBasics websites that come with Creative Cloud to a higher Business Catalyst plan?
We are working on creating this workflow but at this point we don’t have an exact release date for this feature.
Do I get any discount for purchasing more websites if I am a Creative Cloud subscriber?
Right now there is no discount for Creative Cloud members.
If I am an existing Paid Partner and I have a few employees for whom I paid Creative Cloud subscriptions, how many websites can I claim?
You will have 5 websites for each employee. However, you will pay different licenses for all of them. Before purchasing these licenses, please contact Adobe Support to add these users to your partner portal. After you have added users to your partner portal, you will be able to access all the websites from it.
*NOTE: If you have already add employees to your partner portal, then everything will work automatically.
If you don’t want to access all your websites from the same Partner Portal, you don’t have to do anything.
How can I set permissions for my employees regarding these websites? What permissions can I set?
This will be part of a later Creative Cloud that will be launched this year.
What happens if I cancel or stop paying my Creative Cloud subscription?
Each live website (among the free websites under your Creative Cloud subscription) will stay live for an additional 30 days. This gives you time to decide whether you want to keep the site(s) live or remove them.  You will be prompted to upgrade your website to a regular Business Catalyst site plan.
After 30 days, your website will enter in temporary mode. When entering the temporary mode, your custom domain name will be removed from the website. In order to reactivate it, pay for your website directly with Business Catalyst.
If you are inactive on a temporary website, it will automatically be deleted.
    === Dreamweaver CS6 FAQ ===
I have logged in on Dreamweaver CS6 and I cannot see my partner site. How can I edit it?
This is a known issue. For paid partners (Standard or Premium) you can use the workaround described below:
export one of your sites as an .ste file
Open the .ste file in another text editor, and modify it
    Replace the :
httpaddress with your partner's site URL address
secureURL with your partner site secure URL
siteid with the site ID of your partner site
Save the .ste file with another name
Import this .ste file into Dreamwaver, choose a local root folder
Please take a look at Brad's blog post here for more detailed steps on how to import your partner site in Dreamweaver.
I'm trying to login to Dreamweaver CS6 with my Business Catalyst credentials, and it doesn't work. What credentials do I need?
You can login to Dreamweaver CS6 with your Adobe ID. If you haven't merged your BC account with an Adobe ID account, you'll need to merge it and then you should be able to login.
How do I access sites in Dreamweaver with an Adobe ID other than the one linked to my Creative Cloud or Dreamweaver subscription?
Dreamweaver defaults to using the Adobe ID from your subscription to avoid the inconvenience of logging in multiple times. To use a different ID, just click the "Logout" button in the lower-right hand corner of the Business Catalyst panel and log in with a different Adobe ID:
You'll need to have a file open in an existing BC site for the "Logout" button to be visible. Logging out will not affect the Adobe ID used in conjunction with your Dreamweaver subscription. To change the Adobe ID for your subscription, click Help -> Deactivate.

At this point the upgrade workflow is not functional just yet, as mentioned here: http://forums.adobe.com/docs/DOC-2153
So the webBasics Creative Cloud cannot be upgraded directly  to the webBasics+ level for now.
But a workaround for this case would be to re-publish your Dreamweaver/Muse project (I suppose you've used one of these solutions to build the site in the first place, right?) in a new trial/temporary site  -> let us know what is the URL of that site (don't push it live) -> we will change the site plan from our backend to webBasics+ -> you will be able to publish it using the webBasics+ site plan.
Please note that this is going to be a separate charge, besides your Creative Cloud subscription. The monthly fee for webBasics+ will be $12.21/month, as mentioned here: http://www.adobe.com/products/business-catalyst/buying-guide-subscriptions.html
Another way to use the webBasics+ plan would be to simply trigger a new trial site here: https://syd.worldsecuresystems.com/PartnerPortal/FreeTrialSignup.aspx#splash with the same Adobe ID as the one used to buy the Creative Cloud subscription and  take that site live separately.

  • Upgrade from Creative Cloud free site to business catalyst paid site

    Hi there,
I am trying to upgrade from a free creative cloud site to BC Marketing
How do I "claim the site as a free Creative Cloud site first, before the additional upgrade options will be present."
When I Log into the admin console of my site > Site Settings > Site Management,  the option to upgrade the site to a higher plan doesn't present.
This is all I get http://www.virtualteacher.com.au/images/site%20setting.tiff

  • Business Catalyst

    Hi,
I've been a partner with Business Catalyst for a number of years now and have numerous sites with them. As part of the Creative Cloud membership it says I can have 5 sites. I currently pay for all my sites with BC so I guess my question is:
Will the next 5 sites I make live not cost me anything, or can I convert 5 of my existing sites to free ones? Also is there a type of site that's included or can you have all the modules? I've tried to find more information on this on the Adobe site and not found it.
    Thanks,
    Adam

The 5 free sites are webBasic sites and at this time you cannot upgrade them (though that feature is coming).

  • Cannot download Business Catalyst even though it is listed on the CC download page.

Is Business Catalyst part of the Creative Cloud Collection? If so, then why can I not download it along with the other applications that are on the Creative Cloud Download page applications site that are downloadable.? I was told by an Adobe representive that this application was not part of the Creative Cloud collection but a part of the marketing collection. If this statement is accurate then why is it listed on the Adobe Creative Cloud download page where all of the other applications that belong to the Adobe Creative Cloud Collection are also listed and are downloadable.?

  • Need information on the art of the possible with Business Catalyst

    Hi
My wife is setting up an online Business that will sell downloadable language resources (for learning foreign languages). These will include worksheets, soundfiles, and also animations (that are being done by a separate animator).
I am a 'rusty' Java developer and have said that I would do the IT for her.
We have purchased an Adobe Creative Cloud subscription as she is doing the worksheets in InDesign, and they will be sold as PDF's.
I have mocked up the beginnings of a website with Muse, but was intending to use that for getting the look and feel right, then replicating it in Java and HTML5.
However, today I started looking a Business Catalyst and seeing what it could do, but I am confused about it.
Would I be able to sell downloadable items using the eCommerce features?
Can I set up a mock shop on the free BC site?
How much does the eCommerce upgrade actually cost? Like I said, we are a Creative Cloud subscriber.
There will be some features that I will need to code, perhaps talking to another database, I understand that you can call out from the app to your own webservices etc?
    Thanks for any help.
    matt

    Hi Matt,
BC sounds like a good solution for you from the little bit you shared.
Do you mean javascript or java? Java doesn't run on BC as FYI.
    Here are your answers:
Would I be able to sell downloadable items using the eCommerce features?
Yes you can. BC allows you to have media downloads for purchase.
Can I set up a mock shop on the free BC site?
Yes, you can start a free trial site that will allow you build and try out BC. Once you are ready to go live with the site you would pay to upgrade the site to a live site.
How much does the eCommerce upgrade actually cost? Like I said, we are a Creative Cloud subscriber.
The price is $38.88 per month (USA pricing. AU differs - more info here on pricing: US Monthly Pricing | Adobe Business Catalyst ) with Creative Cloud you have five basic sites with BC but to "upgrade" you pay the regular price for BC sites.
There will be some features that I will need to code, perhaps talking to another database, I understand that you can call out from the app to your own webservices etc?
There are APIs that allow you to talk to other services and send information back to BC.
You can find more answers by reading the KB: BC Help & support
On a side note, if you need help getting started with Business Catalyst I would happily offer my services. Send me a PM if you need additional help.
