Business Catalyst - Secure Zones?

Hi _ I have webmarketing BC subscription for my site but for some reason can't access secure zones at all - it just doesn't appear - what do i need to do?

Go to 'My Details', "Screen shot: http://project02.businesscatalyst.com/Jing/2013-09-02_1927.png  and check the option of 'Enable online content editing', "Screen shot: http://project02.businesscatalyst.com/Jing/2013-09-02_1927_001.png .
Now log-out of the admin and re-login and check if that helps.

  • Trouble with Business Catalyst FORM in Muse

I created a contact form at Business Catalyst, added it there to a published web page, copied the HTML, and inserted the HTML in Muse.
I placed the HTML on its own layer, and positioned it on the contact page, then edited it for style. This is what it looks like in Muse (image is cropped):
It looks identical when you Preview the page in Muse.
However, when I publish the site, the form is no longer on the top layer (but underneath the menu -a master page item- which in Muse is on a lower layer than the form); the form itself is positioned at 0,0 on the page, OUTSIDE the page boundary as specified in Muse, and all other page elements (except the master page items) are moved below the form vertically, but not together as designed in Muse: most (but not all) of them are stacked vertically at the bottom of the page.
In other words, the entire page layout is destroyed.
Here is what the published page looks like (image is cropped - upper-left corner is shown):
I cannot share the URL due to NDA, but I am allowed to share it privately with support staff.
    Thanks for any help.

    Hi Tom!
BC Gurus has free tutorials about Secure Zone, below are the links.
But these tutorials don´t show how to integrate these features into Muse.
I am sure that Chris Kellett (MuseGrid) or Steve Harris (Muse Themes) know how to do that but I don´t know how much they are charging for instructions.

  • Business Catalyst Blog in Muse

    Hi all,
Aplogies if I seem to be missing something but I'm trying to work out how to use the BC Blog Module with a Muse site and cannot find any instructions/tutorials on how to do set it up and then insert it. Can anyone point me in the right direction?
    Many thanks,

  • Business Catalyst Help | Add a secure area to your site

This question was posted in response to the following article: http://helpx.adobe.com/business-catalyst/partner/add-secure-area-your-site.html

How can we stop the redirect to the secure zone page.

  • Received an invalid security certificate warning from a new site launched on Business Catalyst

Just launched a new site on Business Catalyst.  When checking online for the first time I received the following warning in my browser " uses an invalid security certificate. The certificate is only valid for the following names: *.worldsecuresystems.com, worldsecuresystems.com. "   is this normal?
    Thanks,

    Hi
Take a look to this thread, this should explain this behavior
Can I install my own SSL certificate for my domain?

  • Secure Areas require WebMarketing-level Business Catalyst ?

Wanted to design site for non-profit using Muse.  Need to keep membership list, with phone numbers and emails, in secure area - accessible only with password.
Now it appears that I can only use Secure Masters, etc., if I have them subscribe to Business Catalyst - at the Web Marketing level - meaning $200 a year charge.  I was building their site pro bono, and guess I will have to use something other than Muse.
Is there any way to build a secure area in Muse without going to next-to-top level of Business Catalyst ?
On-line tutorials included the Secure Master page, so didn't realize when I started that it was a bait-and-switch: can't do it in Muse unless you pay a lot of extra money.
Very disappointing, but guess it should not be a surprise with the whole new Creative Cloud pricing policy for Adobe ...
Anyway, if there is a way around the expensive-level BC, I'd appreciate some help.

If you are hosting on Business Catalyst then yes that is your only option. If on a third party you would have to convert everything to a technology such as PHP/mySQL. The Business Catalyst way is far easier and you can keep your Muse compatibility.

  • Secure sites, Google and Business Catalyst

    Hi guys!
I read today in a Mashable article that google is going to start bumping up rankings of website with the https prefix. I know that BC uses the prefix but it always comes accompanied by the .worldsecuresystems in the domain. Does anyone know if business catalyst has anything in the works for this? I know this has been discussed before but it seems like it could be more pertinent now.
    Thank you.

Nothing from BC yet, lots of threads on this already. Lots of people up in arms on the web, lets see if they change their minds as well (google) - It would not be the first reversal on decisions similar to this one.

  • Secure Zone Customer Activity Tracking

I'm new to Business Catalyst, so this may be obvious to some of you, but I have a question about tracking customer activity on my Business Catalyst site. I can track logins into Secure Zones, but only whether/not the customer has logged into the site.
What I'd really like to do is track a customer's usage of the site - in other words, I'd like to see what a customer's activity looks like on the site. So if a customer goes from Home (secure zone login), to About, to whatever other page. I suppose how much time they spend is too granular, but if I could figure out how to track their site usage, it'd really help me with a client. The only way I can see how to do it on my own is to require users to log in to every single page, which compromises far too much usability.
So, how about it? Is there anyone that can provide a suggestion, either using the BC interface, or using some other type of tracking mechanism?

BC can't do that out of the box. You may want to use Google Analytics for that.
    Cheers,
    -m

  • Creating a photo gallery / portfolio for a client to manage (CMS & Business Catalyst)

I have been asked to create a website for a client, the client is a photographer and wants a site to promote her nursery school photography business. She would like to be able to manage the site herself using the BC dashboard, uploading images as and when needed. I use Muse to create sites and have informed the client that for any kind of CMS they need to host with Business Catalyst.
My issue is creating a relatively limitless photo gallery / portfolio. As I understand it a client can upload and change images on their site using the BC dashboard, providing there is a slot available to do so. I believe Business Catalyst has a photo gallery module on their Webmarketing package, would this be what I am looking for? Failing that are there any good workarounds available for my client using Muse alone?
In the future the client is looking for secure zones within the site and also an online ordering system, but right now it's a fairly simple promotional site with a good gallery of pics.
I posted a similar question last week, someone very kindly suggested Smugmug, I looked into a separate solution (including Smugmug) but it's not suitable in this case and I would rather stick to Muse, BC and Adobe.

    Hi
Yes, you can use Photo Gallery module, where your client would be able to upload new images from site backend and update the module. Also with photo gallery there are other parameters which they can use for image display.

For future preferences , your client can setup secure zones, online shop etc from site admin.
Let me know if you have any questions.

  • Business Catalyst IDX Integration

I am creating a real estate website for a client that needs IDX integration within their website.
For any that are unfamiliar with IDX, it is basically a way of integrating the MLS database (that is, the database of US homes for sale) into websites.
The basic functionality I need is for registered users to be able to log in to a secure zone, select the homes they like, and log back in at a later date in order to view these homes again.
I'll be speaking with the owners of IDX and MLS within the next few days and would like to know more about Business Catalyst's potential capabilities when integrating this kind of system within our website.
    Thanks,
    - Tyler

    Hi Tyler,
I'm not aware of any current IDX known integration with BC.
However you might want to reach out to some of our custom solution implementors for possible suggestions if no luck here.

  • Help with Business Catalyst Web forms and Adobe Muse.

I created a websform to log into a secure zone using business catalyst. I pasted the webform's html into Adobe Muse. After publishing my site. The websform I created in business catalyst is deleted, but I can see all of the forms that I created using Muse in the webform section. Is there a fix for this problem? Thanks
This is the page with the forms. http://www.highestgoodclothing.com/login.html

There is a workaround. It takes a little more work, but it is definitely worth it and will solve your problem. I subscribed and learned from tutorials on the www(.)trainsimple(.)com. They have a video series called "Muse CC Business Catalyst Integration" which was very helpful. The issue that everyone on here is referring to is covered in the 3 videos labelled, "Email Sign Up Checkbox", "Moving Muse Webforms to Business Catalyst" and "Email Marketing".
Essentially, what you want to do is create a form in Business Catalyst, turn that form into a module, assign a tag to that module, then put the tag into Muse using Object > Insert HTML. This will solve Muse deleting the web forms everytime.

  • Business Catalyst access permissions for different users

    Hi there,
We want to have specific people have access to specific areas of a website we are developing and are considering using BC.
    For example:
    - Distributors will have their own section to access resources such as training manuals, videos and service agreements.
    - Service techs - will have their own section to access resources such as service manuals, instal guides etc.
How does Business Catalyst allow different people to access different areas? Is it by:
    - Password?
    - People in the database are tagged, so they use their profile to access their own area?
    - other?
If it is possible, could we be pointed in the direction of how to set this up?
Thanks in advance for any help.
    Cheers,
    Andrew

Sounds to me like Secure Zones will do this for you...
You can create as many secure zones as you like and asign (or use registration forms) anybody to any zone. Ofcourse each zone can have it's own content, theme, etc...
Here's a good place to start:

  • Where do I find my business catalyst plan subscription details?

I would like to create a secure zone but this does not appear under Site Manager.
I have modules/features that fit the webCommerce plan which should include Secure Zone.
I would then like to double check my plan subscription but I do not know where to look...
    Any help?
    Thanks a lot in advance

    Hi,
You can check this via your partner portal.  https://securesyd.worldsecuresystems.com/PartnerPortal/Index.aspx
Login and locate your site details to view the plan information.  My site -> plan
If still a bit stuck reach out to our direct chat support and they'll confirm your plan plus assist on locating any missing features.

  • Is there a way to make secure zone content unique for user?

Hi, we have a client who wants to have a secure zone on their site which will allow them to upload images and notify the user, so that when they login they will see their particular images (in a gallery with lightbox etc) but other secure zone users cannot see their images, they will only see their own images.
I am looking at a combination of secure zone/web app/image gallery functionaity but cannot work out if this is even feasible (without some had core scripting).
Does anyone know how we can set this up?
    Cheers
    Cam

    Hi,
You can do this via web-apps (placed inside a secure zone). A webapp can be customized to allow users to add and edit their submissions, can be integrated with google maps, can have expiry dates, can require payments, etc. Here's a complete reference: http://helpx.adobe.com/business-catalyst/topics/web-apps.html

  • Upgrading secure zone

    Hi all,
I am looking to create a free trial secure zone and let users upgrade to a paid secure zone after 2 months.
When i pre-populate the fields with their username and email (the user will be logged into their trial account to access this form), when they submit the form, does business catalyst automatically add the new secure zone to the existing account, such that the account that the current user has will be subscribed to 2 secure zones?
Also, is it possible to program it such that the system will automatically send a notification via email when the user's subscription is about to expire? Like 2 weeks in advance,,

    Hi,
Most likely you are under site plan webBasic or webBasic+ which does not include Secure Zone features.
For a breakdown of features per plan please view here. -> http://helpx.adobe.com/business-catalyst/kb/detailed-plan-breakdown.html
For information on how to upgrade your Muse site you may want to visit this thread below.
