I have dreamweaver cs6 for some time now, and i remeber that i read or saw in some video that i have got one BC site scince i bought dreamweaver.
How does this work, do i get a free bc website for me? does it need my dreamweaver license serial number?do i still have to pay and choose the 3 available webbasic,webmarketing or webcommerce plan or is it for free scince i bought dreamweaver cs6?is this only for creative cloud members?

This offer to get a free Business Catalyst site only applies if you subscribe to one of the Adobe offerints.
You get 1 site for free when you have a Dreamweaver single product subscription
You get 5 sites for free as a Creative Cloud subscriber
They are on the Adobe Web Hosting plan (the simplest)

Since the BC.Next update (which I'm told is now completed by chat) has effect how parts of my site display.
Previous to the update I was able to render variations of my 'blogpostlist' in various parts of my site with different layouts using template="/.." in the new module tags for my client's blog.
Now these types of modules:
{module_blogpostlist,10583,1 template="/Layouts/Blog/dwm-bloghome.html"}
No longer renders the "dwm-bloghome.html" template. Instead it is using the default blog layout "postlist.html"
I've tried to sort this out with chat but with no success. First I was told to wait for the BC.Next update to complete and check back on the BC Status page to find out it was done. After four hours I asked chat again what the ETA was (since parts of my client's site are messed up because of this.) This time i was told it was complete and they don't post completion times for events since there was no client impact. Of course there is but they don't seem to believe me. When I explained the impact I was then told BC.Next is a beta feature and not supported. Basically, no help.
I'm venting since I'm looking for help on a BC issue that is out of my control but no one at BC seems interested in helping or interested to know that a previously working feature is no longer working.
Are you aware of any issues with the new rendering engine causing problems with custom templates defined in module tags?

May I use my five Business catalyst websites to host . . .

As a creative cloud subscriber, may I use my five free Business catalyst websites to host my own site with my own domain name or are these five sites only for testing?

How do you permantly delete old business catalyst websites.
I've been trying to permantly delete all these old business catalyst sites that keep showing up in the side bar that says "Websites" and u can "View" or "Manage" them. But every time i try to manage them they just go to a blank page worldsecureserver.net or something. What should i do?

Domain & Business Catalyst Website Muse Hosting URL Change

Hi everyone,
in case I host my muse site with BC (Business Catalyst). And I want to use a domain (for example "mydomain.com") which I purchased at a third-party.
In case I choose the re-delegating option as mentioned here:

As you can see on the pop-up window, there is a description:
"Recommended: use this service to host your website requiring you to re-delegate the domain"
Will it show in the URL if a user checks out my website? Will it then be "mydomain.businesscatalyst.com" instead of "mydomain.com"?

How can we protect/hide our Business Catalyst-based website from the public and search engines while we are developing it? It seems like anyone can access it, even though it is not complete.
We are using Dreamweaver to build our website, if that helps. Is there any way to have a test instance of BC that is password protected for development and testing? Thank you for your ideas.

Do not share your links out, the sitemap is not on till you activate the system.
I have built BC sites for over 5 years and only one case for me of a client posting out an unfinished site got it indexed by google.

Creative Cloud with Business Catalyst/Websites

I subscribed to a standard Creative Cloud membership yesterday....
On the Creative Cloud web page sidebar, there's a message saying 'Full Creative Cloud Membership comes with hosting for up to 5 sites....LEARN MORE >>
That goes to a page which says "Full Creative Cloud Membership comes with hosting for up to 5 sites. View and manage these sites from the sidebar on the Creative Cloud home page."
So it seems I'm stuck in a loop. I can't log in directly to Business Catalyst using my adobe ID either.
Any ideas?

Business Catalyst Website with CC

I was under the impression that I got a free Business Catalyst account with my Creative Cloud, however the site I created is unuseable unless I upgrade it.

As Jeff said we need more information. What is unusable?
You have five webBasic sites and I have used four so far and all are fully functional. Sure I don't have some of the features in the higher plans but these features are not needed for these sites. If you need higher functionality then you will have to upgrade.

I got 2 minutes and 25 seconds into this tutorial and the functionality contained in the tutorial simply does not exist on my copy of DW.
There are only about 5 modules available and the site admin seems to have about 5% of the functionality listed in the tutorial.

How do I merge the content of one website into another with Business Catalyst?

I have two websites, each of them are Business Catalyst websites.
I would like to merge website 1 with website 2, so they are on the same domain.
Each website will effectively be put into it's own directory on the same domain, with the homepage allowing a visitor to decide which website they would like to see.
Is there an easy way to do this? I have a feeling it's a matter of copying all the content across, modifying the templates and doing everything manually page by page - which wouldn't be fun.
Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

If I am an existing Paid Partner and I have a few employees for whom I paid Creative Cloud subscriptions, how many websites can I claim?
     You will have 5 websites for each employee. However, you will pay different licenses for all of them. Before purchasing these licenses, please contact Adobe Support to add these users to your partner portal. After you have added users to your partner portal, you will be able to access all the websites from it.
*NOTE: If you have already add employees to your partner portal, then everything will work automatically.
If you don’t want to access all your websites from the same Partner Portal, you don’t have to do anything.
How can I set permissions for my employees regarding these websites? What permissions can I set?
      This will be part of a later Creative Cloud that will be launched this year.
What happens if I cancel or stop paying my Creative Cloud subscription?
     Each live website (among the free websites under your Creative Cloud subscription) will stay live for an additional 30 days. This gives you time to decide whether you want to keep the site(s) live or remove them. You will be prompted to upgrade your website to a regular Business Catalyst site plan.
     After 30 days, your website will enter in temporary mode. When entering the temporary mode, your custom domain name will be removed from the website. In order to reactivate it, pay for your website directly with Business Catalyst.
     If you are inactive on a temporary website, it will automatically be deleted.

I have logged in on Dreamweaver CS6 and I cannot see my partner site. How can I edit it?
This is a known issue. For paid partners (Standard or Premium) you can use the workaround described below:
export one of your sites as an .ste file
Open the .ste file in another text editor, and modify it
Replace the :
httpaddress with your partner's site URL address
secureURL with your partner site secure URL
siteid with the site ID of your partner site
Save the .ste file with another name
Import this .ste file into Dreamwaver, choose a local root folder

I'm trying to login to Dreamweaver CS6 with my Business Catalyst credentials, and it doesn't work. What credentials do I need?
     You can login to Dreamweaver CS6 with your Adobe ID. If you haven't merged your BC account with an Adobe ID account, you'll need to merge it and then you should be able to login.
How do I access sites in Dreamweaver with an Adobe ID other than the one linked to my Creative Cloud or Dreamweaver subscription?
      Dreamweaver defaults to using the Adobe ID from your subscription to avoid the inconvenience of logging in multiple times. To use a different ID, just click the "Logout" button in the lower-right hand corner of the Business Catalyst panel and log in with a different Adobe ID:
You'll need to have a file open in an existing BC site for the "Logout" button to be visible. Logging out will not affect the Adobe ID used in conjunction with your Dreamweaver subscription. To change the Adobe ID for your subscription, click Help -> Deactivate.

At this point the upgrade workflow is not functional just yet, as mentioned here: http://forums.adobe.com/docs/DOC-2153
So the webBasics Creative Cloud cannot be upgraded directly to the webBasics+ level for now.
But a workaround for this case would be to re-publish your Dreamweaver/Muse project (I suppose you've used one of these solutions to build the site in the first place, right?) in a new trial/temporary site -> let us know what is the URL of that site (don't push it live) -> we will change the site plan from our backend to webBasics+ -> you will be able to publish it using the webBasics+ site plan.
Please note that this is going to be a separate charge, besides your Creative Cloud subscription. The monthly fee for webBasics+ will be $12.21/month, as mentioned here: http://www.adobe.com/products/business-catalyst/buying-guide-subscriptions.html
Another way to use the webBasics+ plan would be to simply trigger a new trial site here: https://syd.worldsecuresystems.com/PartnerPortal/FreeTrialSignup.aspx#splash with the same Adobe ID as the one used to buy the Creative Cloud subscription and take that site live separately.
