Business class email client for mac ?
Does anyone know a good email application to handle a very head load of email (400+ messages a day).
Mail.app is nice and does most things ok, but is very limiting when it comes to rules, filtering etc.
Thanks
Your definition of "business class" is a bit vague. What exactly are you looking for in Mail that other mail clients have? Since Mail is based on NeXTSTEP Mail, it's a very good email client and was used back in those days at various corporations and universities with far heavier email volume than what you've described you need.

Business class email ! NOT
As a business owner having access to my email when I'm out of the office is vital. I recently moved from an iPhone 3G to the Bold 9700, for some time I've been under the impression that BB are the number one for business handsets. However having now owned one for a few months I must say I am completely disappointed with it's email abilities, the read/not read issue is absolutely shocking, I receive a high number of emails every day and read most of them on a computer, I then have to wade through all those emails again on the BB so I can see what's been read from what hasn't.
I believe there is a workaround that lets you not receive emails that you've read on another device, this is no good for me, I need to have access to all of my emails. This brings me onto anther shockingly bad issue, BB will not allow you to view emails that were sent to you before you set-up the email on the handset. The whole point of using IMAP is that the emails stay on the server and your email client gives you a view of the emails on said server (ALL OF THEM).
As stated previously, I need access to all my emails and can do so on every other device I use. My old iPhone and android handsets have no problem in either of the two areas I have raised here. How can anyone claim that BB have the best business/email handsets when there are such massive holes in the technology they supply. From the conversations I've had with my provider and the comments I've read on the web, it seems that there is no plan to fix either of these two major flaws which leaves me with no other option, but to look for a handset that provides proper business class email. It's a shame because I really like the BB 9700 as a handset, I hate wasting money and that's exactly how I feel about my BB purchase.lperry65 wrote:
My company uses Apple Macs which have no problem using IMAP with the Google email service, am I correct in believing that the BB enterprise server is expensive and I would need to run a version of windows to use it.

Unable to attach PDF to email (Outlook for Mac 2011)
We are pushing out software upgrades for CS5 and MS Office 2011 for Mac. We've discoverd that we can't use the Attach to email feature in Acrobat. The spinning rainbow wheel pops up for about a minute, and then Acrobat is non-responsive and we have to force quit. We can still drag and drop an attachment so we have a viable workaround but obviously we'd like to be able to use the automated feature.
All software is up-to-date.
In the preferences panel of Outlook, we have selected Outlook to be the default mail application.
As a sidenote, this feature doesn't work with Acobat X beta either. However, in the beta version of Acrobat X, if we declare Apple's mail application to be the default, it works fine. Unfortunately we use the Office suite as part of our enterprise system, so that's what we need to work with.
Has anyone else experienced this? I've logged a ticket with Adobe but I haven't heard back from them yet.
Thanks for any advise.Take the bhama way
figured out how to make it work. I am using Adobe Acrobat X Pro (mac)
and MS Outlook for Mac 2011.
For those who are interested, this is what I did:
1. Create a folder on desktop to save your pdf¹s files you want to email
to. Mine is named, "PDF to Email"
2. Open Automator, create a "Folder Action"
3. At the top, "Choose Folder", choose your newly created folder on the
desktop
4. Choose the "Rename Finder Items" action from the action list. I chose,
"Don¹t Add" on the add a Copy Finder Items Action menu.
5. On the "Add Date or Time to Finder Item Names" I chose, "Name Single
Item" from the first drop down menu.
6. Click on "Options" at the bottom of that window to select the "Show
this action when the workflow runs" so you can rename your file
something other than the Acrobat default.
7. Choose the "Create New Outlook Mail Message" from the action list and
add it below the "Name Single Item in Finder Item Names"
8. Choose "File>Save As" and give your file a name. Mine is, "PDF to
Email".
9. Close Automator
10. Open Acrobat X Pro.
11. Go to "File>Action Wizard>Create New Action"
12. Here you choose, "Save to>A Folder on my computer"
13. Choose the folder on the desktop that we saved earlier
14. Save the file, with the action name you will remember.
Now when you are in Acrobat X Pro and you want to send that .pdf file via
Outlook for Mac 2011, follow the steps below.
With the file you want to email open, go to "File>Action Wizard>(Action
you created) Mine is "PDF to Email". It will take a few seconds, but you
will get an "Action Completed". You will get a pop up that allows you to
name/rename the file. Then it should open your Outlook with your .pdf
attached and ready for sending.
You might need to tweak the actions to suit your needs, but this should
work for you.

It's supposed to work now? I've made sure I'm on latest (check for update)
and it says I am. Still get an error. It does bring Outlook to the
forground, but same error when I hide Outlook - An error occurred while
trying to create a mail document. Suggestions?

Downgrade Microsoft Remote Desktop Client for Mac
Is there a way to downgrade to a previous version of the microsoft remote desktop client for mac? We are experiencing issues with one of our published remote apps (regarding window focus i.e. which window of the open application is at the front of the
users screen) since upgrading to 8.0.9. This application was OK in 8.0.5. Can we revert to an older version? We are also experiencing similar issues regarding window sizes and display settings with our remote resources, since upgrading. We are using remote desktop application for iPhone/iPad. Upon opening of our Remote App, although we have set the command-line
argument to open to full screen, we see the application resizing 3 times before it finally opens - and it does not open in full screen. Please assist. -
Has anyone tried REAL VNC client for Mac OSX? Is it worth the money?
Has anyone tried REAL VNC client for Mac OSX? Is it worth the money?
you should not be getting that many crashes and unlike others here i don't see any strong reason to go to 7.2 other than to get to 7.2.1. i very strongly suspect you have dodgy AU's (probably around 218 of them) and if you have a look at your crash log it should show you why you are crashing. if you see an AU in the crash log it is telling you it is causing headaches. my guess is that upgrading is not going to solve your problems.
just so you know, if everything is running as it should be logic will hardly ever crash. post up the crashed thread from your crash log next time it happens. also make sure that you have the proapp kit latest version.
i know its deeply frustrating when things are going pear shaped. everyone but everyone feels that the stupid thing should just work and gets the over-whelming feeling that apple is supposed to make products that just work, that we paid good money for that level reliability and if it's going to act like this we might just as well have stayed with cheaper PC's. reality is, once you start throwing thrid party's into the mix it is really hard to keep control of reliabillity. if you took logic back to zero 3rd party plugs and in built audio, it would take fanatical fundamentalist to crash the thing. (having said that - i reckon i could) -

What is the best email client for ipad 2
what is the best email client for ipad 2
Im going to go ahead and assume your talking to me?
I ended up in this thread in search of a functional Exchange ready mail client capable of supporting multiple mail profiles. Since there are no free applications to accomplish this in the app stor, which I can find, I figured I'd leverage the 'community' for some direction before throwing good money after bad.
As I assume Im not the only one to do this, I figured I'd help straighten these folks out on the lingo (as they werne't applying it properly) and the sassy 'sound like apple users' comment references the way ANTI-apple folks assume you people are less than adequite users.
If I called an apple an orange, you would say I was wrong. If I did it repeatedly, after correction, you would assume Im incompetant.
Seriously, its a stupid machine and will only do what you tell it. (true for all computers, apple or otherwise)
So if I ask for a mail client, dont give me a provider. If I ask for a service, dont name a client.
Your right, this post is old. And stilll doesnt have an answer. . .
In response to MichelPM, I didnt call your baby ugly. The 'Bandwagoning' is cute though. My advice is sound, and helping you folks not to look so... well... stupid.
Since you interceded though, how about a little help? What mail client do you use? Is it exchange Compatible, with active sync? Does it offer multi-profile support? And the clients want images in their signatures, and multi signature support. (I can do this with my android phone )
Im looking forward to your responses. -

Remote Desktop Client for Mac and SSO
Hi.
We have RDS Deployment (Windows Server 2012 R2) with RD Connection Brokers, RD Session Hosts and Web Access.
Windows clients log on without any issues, credentials must be entered only once (Single Sign On).
But Mac clients must enter their credentials twice (on CB and SH).
Does Remote Desktop Client for Mac support SSO and if it does, what special settings are required?
Mac users use Microsoft Remote Desktop 8.0.13.Sorry, I have missed important detail. This problem appears when I open .rdp files.
Really, if I create connection and save my credentials, I will not enter credentials. But in this case I can't specify Collection
(loadbalanceinfo:s:tsv://MS Terminal Services Plugin.1.SomeCollection - parameter in .rpd file).
In my case, I open .rdp file, connect to RD Connection Broker, log in to RD CB, RD CB redirects me to RD
Session Host, I log in to RD SH (enter credential second time) and now I connect. In this chain could be a RD Gateway.
When I connect to the same farm with the same .rdp file from Windows client, I have enter credential only once (SSO works).
So my question: Does Remote
Desktop Client for Mac support SSO? I know that SSO require CredSSP, is it implemented in Client for Mac? -
Email client for N97 and Gmail THAT WORKS . . . .
Hi
After a year, yes, that's right, a year of trying to get my Nokia N97 to work as an email client for Gmail using Nokia Messaging without it just simply stopping for days on end I finally found something that works (or at least appears to so far!). You have to pay US$ 24 for it but you get 30 days free and it really does work inc IMAP push mail. It's called Profimail from www.lonelycatgames.com.
PS I don't work for them . . .michael_rod wrote:

Opera is not supported. You can only sync with Outlook using Nokia PCSuite.

Business Catalyst email clients forgot password
Client using Business Catalyst as CMS and email client DNS was moved, then when email access to the former Business Catalyst mail (mail.hostedemail.com) was not available DNS was reverted back.
We need to determine if the following process steps are correct
1) A recovery email needs to be sent from the Business Catalyst CMS
with the DNS records and CNAME records INTACT reverted back to Business Catalyst CMS and mail
2) That password will be used to log in https://mail.hostedemail.com/?_task=login
3) Mail migration and archive can begin. Username password resets will be performed for
each user.
Question: Archive (mail up to the DNS and MX change of a day ago) mail is still on the server (worldsecuresystems.com) hostedemail.comHi Cornelius
When DNS was removed from the BC Site Admin, if the MX record was deleted then the e-mails (the entire mail account) were deleted from OpenSRS (our email provider). When the DNS was re-added, the account at SRS was re-created, but from scratch. So what needs to happen here in order to recover lost e-mail is to have this issue raised to our provider. What I'll kindly ask you to do is raise a ticket with our Support Channel, and we'll pick up from there.
Kind Regards,

Sparrow - Email Manager for Mac
Hi All,
A new email client has been launched for MAC. Anyone has any information on it? Havent tried google yet, though have posted on some other forums.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Deep SeaHey All,
Thanks for the information! I found some similar information which I would like to share:
In the first article, its mentioned that the upcoming version 1.1 will integrate IMAP support to most email providers such as Yahoo, AOL, MobileMe. But 5/5 for this article for mentioning the details of the app really well.
http://www.iwebsnacks.com/2011/02/new-email-client-%E2%80%98sparrow%E2%80%99-rel eased-today-available-in-mac-app-store/
Second article, which has also been shared before:
http://www.tuaw.com/2011/02/09/sparrow-mail-application-now-available-in-the-mac -app-store/
It says: Thus far, the customer response to Sparrow has been incredibly favorable. After a mere few hours on the Mac App Store, the mail application has already climbed to the #1 spot on the top paid applications chart. It is also #2 in top grossing applications and is bested only by Apple's Aperture.
Overall this app has a very good response, Anyone has any other comments or suggestions whether I should go for a buy on this one?

Mac OS X has a built in CIFS/SMB client. You can use Finder -> Go -> Connect to Server... -> smb://workgroup;username:[email protected]/sharename
Windows should be able to access volumes that you have enabled via System Preferences -> Sharing -> File Sharing.
Also, can the Mac run Linux (Ubuntu, Fedora, etc) apps?
Not native. Mac OS X is NOT Linux and does not use the same executable file format.
However, many Linux apps can be compiled for Mac OS X, or you can use a package manager to install pre-built open source packages.
And you can run a virtual machine (VMware Fusion, Parallels, VirtualBox) and then install a Linux OS into the virtual machine and run your stuff there.
Also many Linux apps use X11 for their gui display, and you can install XQuartz on Mac OS X then arrange for your Linux DISPLAY environment variable to point back to the Mac (the best approach is to ssh -X or ssh -Y from your Mac to the Linux system and that will automatically redirect your DISPLAY environment variable back to your Mac).
