hi
is there any difference between Business Component and Communication Component in PI 7.1.
I assume business service of pi 7.0 is become Business Component.

Business Service of PI7.0 is now Business Component of PI7.1 with the same functionality
Communication Component is containing Business Components, Integration Process, Business System)

Importing LOCAL DCs of Service Component and UI Component TO DTR

Hi dear SAP Community,
I tried to import my local dc's of a service component, a mobile ui component and an application component to our dtr without Nwdi.
Result: 3 destroyed projects.
I tried to create a folder in the DTR and synced all the files and folder to the new dtr destination. But only half of my files were cut and pasted to the dtr workspace and the project folders on the dtr were allmost empty.
Is it possible to import local dc's to the dtr without using nwdi.

I am pasting an email response when I asked how to take locally developed DCs\SCs and put into NWDI's DTR.
I am not sure if by "our DTR", you are referring to a separate DTR like CVS or still SAP DTR .
I did this using the copy and paste feature in the Development Infrastructure. Once you imported the old and new track into your IDE, you can simply drag and drop a DC from one SC to another SC (even if the SCs are located in different tracks). Or you can use the copy and paste options from the context menu of the DCs in the Component Browser.
After this operation, the DCs are not zet in DTR. They are just stored locally on your disc (you can check this if the DC icon in Component Browser has an overlay icon which shows a blue house). Now you can add the DCs to DTR using the context menu action (called Add to Source Control). Please make sure that all required files are really added to the activity. The following folders including their subfolders and files have to be added to DTR: cfg, def, MOBILE-INF, src and .dcdef
I have used this method more to copy DCs from one track to another.

Difference between Basic Component and Standard Component

Hi Iam just learning JSF, at the same time I try to learn to use Sun Java Studio Creator at the same time. May I know what is the difference between the Basic component and the Standard component in the IDE.
I have been using the Grid Panel, each time I need a header I manually t ype

in the JSP source code. How can I do this visually?

The Standard section in the Palette contains the JavaServer Faces reference implementation components. The IDE provides the standard components for backwards compatibility with projects that were built with earlier versions of the IDE. Because the standard components provide less functionality and require more programming, you should use the visual components from the other Palette sections.

PI 7.1 third-party business system and software component.

Hi,
I wish to know if it is possible to associate a third-party business system to a software version and therefore to a software component.
This is importnat for me to know it applied to teh PI 7.1. I know that for abap and java this is possible.

go to SLD.......go to Business system......click on new business system to create it.........then select your technical system for third party........then tell the sw component to be linked to the third party business system........then your third party business sytem will be linked to the sw component in PI7.1.

Not able pass the data from component to other component.

Hello All
I am not able pass the data from component to other component.
I have done like this.
1 Main Component (Parent component ) having below two child components.Embeded as used components.
2)     Search Component and Details Component
3)     In the Search Component having buttons, Say : Button u201CXu201D on click of button I am navigating to Details component view through FPM.
4)     When I am clicking above button u201CXu201D raising the event to call the parent   business logic method, there I am getting Structure with values and binded this structure to the node and Mapped this node to the Details component interface node. FYI : I kept the debugging point Structure is having data , I had set static attributes table to node instance.
5)     In the Details component node data is not coming mean empty.

Hi,
When you use input Ext. check that the parent component should not be used as used component in child component.
Only in the parent component the child components should be used as used components and the usage has to be created for the
Child Components and the binding of the Node should be done from comp. controller of parent component to child node
by which you will be able to see double arrow against the node.This should work

A common question :)..if you search sdn you will know more about this
Business system : Use when you know the end system (like system name, ip etc). Generally ECC, R3, JDBC systems wtc..
Business service : When you know that it is a file or htto system but dont have their details.. Generally Soap, HTTP, File etc...

Component triggering and communication

I have recently been tasked with learning flex for our
project and for the life of me, I cant seem to get my head around a
couple things. I want to ask one question here regarding
communication between components.
Is it possible to call a function (if its public) from one
component by another one if both components are in the same
view?

ADF Business Components is a Java framework we developed at Oracle to make development easier.
ADF BC doesn't use EJB 3.0 - and on a certain level it is an alternative approach to EJBs.
To see what ADF Business Components offers you out of the box to make you more productive read chapter 4 of the ADF Developer Guide -

The bottom line is that when you use ADF Business Components you end up writing less code.
With ADF you can use either ADF BC, EJB, or TopLink to build your application.
In terms of mapping capabilities - we currently offer richer and more visual mapping support for TopLink then for EJB 3.0.
Note that when you use EJB 3.0 and you deploy it to Oracle AS you are actually using TopLink as the JPA implementation.

PI 7.4-receiver determination, communication component

Hello,
I believe the question is simple,
what determines, what communication components are available in receiver determination,
I mean, when You are creating receiver determination, there is need to choose communication component (using search help) and I cannot see one communication component which I want.
I've created comunnication channel, receiver agreement, interface determination for this system/communication component, but in receiver determination I cannot change the communication component.

In Integration Directory(ID), Communication Component are of two types.
1. Business Service.
2. Business System.
Before creating Receiver Determination, make sure both the above Communication Component
are created first. As we know these are the inputs for Receiver Determination.
Now, assign 'Business Service' at 'Sender Communication Component' level and
                     'Business System' at 'Configuration Receivers' level.
Note: The Business System is not an editable input, we have to select them among search help as
          mentioned before. If you are successfully created/assigned the Communications Components,
          then you will find them in search helps.
          At last do not forget to debug 'Test Configuration'.

No suitable communication component

Hi,
I am in Integration Builder (PI 7.1) and want to configure a communication component for my application component.
I have several business systems defined in SLD but none of them actually have the product I defined in the application component marked as installed on them.
For example : I chose SAP NETWEAVER AS ABAP 7.1 as Product for my application component in ESR and I know that my business system is a SAP Netweaver a ABAP 7.1 server. The thing is , in SLD , it is not marked in the installed products and software components.
So the question is ... how do I get the SAP Netweaver AS ABAP 7.1 product to show up as installed on the server in SLD if it was already installed.
What if the product was a home grown product such ZMYPRODUCT ?

how do I get the SAP Netweaver AS ABAP 7.1 product to show up as installed on the server in SLD if it was already installed - see products are assigned to technical system.........so for a AS ABAP 7.1 system, login to that ABAP system and by transaction RZ70 publish it to your XI system SLD......then you can see all the product and sw component installed on this ABAP system in the technical system of WebAS as ABAP type in your XI SLD.........then you can create a business system for it and add all the sw components to this business system which are in the products coming in its technical system.
What if the product was a home grown product such ZMYPRODUCT ? - why will you need to do this for a AS ABAP system........this thing will be required for a third-party system and so it can be manually added in the technical system for your third-party system in SLD.........

Create Communication Component BS interfaces not loading

Hello,
I have created a communication component and assigned a business system in my new PI 7.1 system and unlike the other components I've create this Business System does not load with all the inbound and outbound interfaces. When I open the Business System I see that both the inbound and outbound tab show 0 interfaces.
Other Business Systems have loaded with the interfaces. What might cause the interfaces for a business system not to load?

Steps to recreate:
1. I create the design in IR using SWC SAP_SRM_SERVER_5.0 and COPICS_FTP_1.0.
2. I create a Receiver Determination in ID selecting Interface = DeliveryNotification_Out and Sender = SRM_SERVER_5.0.
3. I add COPICS_FTP_1.0 as the Configured Receiver.
4. I open the Configuration Overview and expand the arrow for the service COPICS_FTP_1.0.
5. Now the interface appears as DeliveryNotification_Out but I need to create the Receiver Agreement with COPICS_FTP_1.0 as COPICS_DeliveryNotification_In.
6. ...but PI does not allow me to change the interface. When I try to create "New Specific" Receiver Agreement it autofills the incorrect interface and does not allow me to correct it.
What am I doing wrong?

Communication component in Direct Connection

We were configuring a direct connection scenario between ECC and SRM (both SAP systems) using the following links :

Both the links refer to a "Logon Data" tab where certain settings have to be set. However, in the communication component (Business system) in ID, we can't find any "Logon Data" tab.
Is there any seperate setting required for this or can anyone suggest where we might be going wrong.

Logon Data is required when you deal with WS (not SOAP) Protocol....check page 28 of the given link.
