Leeherman,
Sorry to hear about your experience. I hope we can help in your case - I'll reach out to you via email and let's see what we can do as I certainly want to ensure your concerns are heard and addressed.
Generally, the systems ship with the ability to create recovery media - in Windows 7 and prior versions, via Lenovo provided tools, and in Windows 8 and later OS, via built in features in Windows that make the recovery on USB.
If a customer hasn't made a recovery media and the drive fails, typically Lenovo service provides recovery media to help complete the repair as part of warranty.
I hope we can restore your confidence!
Best regards,
Mark

Difference between business activity and service process in transaction
Hi Friends,
Can anyone explain me the difference between business activity and service process in transaction category of service desk
Thanks & regards,
Shanmugam BalamuruganHi,
Activity means e.g.. sales call, customer visit etc.
But service process means after you sale your product if some service related issue arrives then that is taken care by this transaction.
Inspire by rewarding.

How can I use JTA in my business logic and execute process with PAPI?
HI All,
How can I use JTA in my business logic and execute process with PAPI?
When my business logic has exception, the process will rollback.
or the process has some exceptions, my business logic also will rollback.
I don't know how to do it.
Does anyone know how to do it?Thank you for your reply, Daniel.
But I think I did not express my mind clearly.
There is a scene that I have 2 Application Server.
My business code is deployed in one Server.
The BPM is deployed in another Server.
I want to execute Task use PAPI.(ProcessServiceSession.runActivity)
In my business code, I will do something before execute Task.
I need my business logic and Task in same transaction.
To ensure them "all-or-nothing" .
As you say, if The transactions are managed by Oracle BPM.
then can I retrieve OBPM transcaction in my business code? -
Business rule assignment in Process Control 10.0, does not show any Control
Hi All,
I have created Organization, and assigned Mitigation control, as shown below. I have also created data Source and Business rule. But Business rule assignment is Blank for Controls. So, could you suggest, how can i see the Controls for the Business rule
Regards
PlabanYou'll need to ensure the timeframes are aligned. What is the valid from date of your organisation and equally so important from your (sub)proces and your control. You are trying to do an assignment as per the first of january 2015. You'll not find entities that are created after Jan 1 2015.
Furthermore you can only select controls that are either earmarked to be tested automated or semi-automated.
Finally you're refering to mitigating controls. So that would imply you have integrated the AC mitigating controls with PC or vice versa. What is the creation date of the mitigating control and per which date has it been assigned to the local subprocess?
In order to provide a precise answer we'd need more details on the exact process you've follow. There are simply more than on possible root causes depending on what you've done.
Hope this helps.
Cheers,

Creating simple Business Rules in BPEL process
Hi,
I have an environment consisting of SOA Suite 11g running on Weblogic Server. I'm using JDeveloper 11g for development.
Scenario
I have a BPEL process which starts off by polling a DB table and I then assign the input to a Recieve activity's InputVariable. I have a 'Number' column which will contain a number between 1 and 3. I then require Business Rules (BR) to be set up which read this value, and based on the number, assign a 'Name' string (which is to be the output variable from the business rules) to be used later on in BPEL process.
Problem - I have followed the basic tutorials available in order to set up the business rules, but am getting numerous errors. Firstly, I sometimes find that my input/output variables created during setup of BR component and the XSD based on this, does not have XML Faces automatically created for it (therefore have to create it myself by clicking on the + button and doing this for each element of XSD). When I do get this working, I then double-click on my Business Rules activity in my BPEL process, only to find that the input/output variables here no longer are assignable to my BR input/output variables as I get the following error "Exception: Problem Building Schema!".
I am not sure why this is, but suspect that my XSD (which is very simple anyway) or the setup steps I follow to define the link to my XSD, are wrong.
I have taken the following steps so far:
1. Create empty BPEL process
2. Set up polling adapter to poll DB table
3. Create Receive activity and assigned polled input to created variable
4. Add Business Rules component to composite and set up and create dictionary here. Also set up inputs/outputs to be in form of my XSD elements.
5. Add Business Rules component to my BPEL process and configure this to include input/output variables (*This is where error occurs*)
6. Go back to .rules component in composite to define rule and define rule
Upon deployment, I get many errors most of which pertain to "Unresolved XML element... make sure XML element +xxxxx+ is defined in one of WSDL's that are referenced by the deployment descriptor."
I have only imported a simple XSD containing two elements to this project. The other XSD is the one of my polling adapter. I've not created any input/output variables for the overall BPEL process as didn't think I was required to.
Can you please help in getting this process doing the simple activities described at the top.
I appreciate your help.
Edited by: user10248308 on 10-Mar-2010 11:49Hi,
Create a project with BPEL composite
Now drag a business rule
Now create input variable of type ur requestelement
and output variable of type response element
Now in rules designer page take decision table
and then craete a condition (inputelement.input > 1000) and in the rule select true
now create another rule select false
Npw create an action with assertion and select the parameterized box there
now in designer page for first rule assign some value (say 500) and for second rule some value(100)
Now in bpel u have to assign a value to input var of BR
Deploy the process
If u supply 10000 u will get 500
if u supply 100 u will get 100
In the same way u can do by using If-Then
You can use facts and bucketsets according to ur requirement

JHeadstart, Oracle Business Rules and BPEL Process Manager
Dear JHeadstart Team,
I have some questions regarding integration of JHeadstart and Oracle Business Rules and Oracle BPEL Process Manager. As a matter of fact I don't have any work expriences with these tools so my questions may not be good and precise.
1- Using a business rule engine can dramatically increase speed of development and ease of maintenance.I had a very good exprience in using JHeadstart and Headstart in the past but I wanted to know if it is possible to use Oracle Business Rules in conjunction with the JHeadstart ? If so, What steps should be taken? Is there any known issue about this integration? Does Oracle Business Rules have any interference with JHeadstart or it is only used in model layer during insert, update, delete?
2- Is it possible to develope a system based on oracle work flow engine (Oracle BPEL Process Manager) using JHeadstart ? If so, What steps should be taken and how the changes in the flow of work would by applyed in a system developed by JHeadstart. Is there any known issue about this integration?
Any help, link to documents or general guidelines would be highly appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
NavidCouple of things I would like to add, are the following.
In the context of an ADF application usage of Oracle Business Rules most likely is in the business logic layer, but mind that it does not need to be restricted to that.
Oracle Business Rules takes so called 'facts' as input, evaluates some rules based on that and change those facts or return some result. That might be checking a business rule as defined in the JHeadstart Developers Guide. But it might also return some value that is used in a navigation rule.
Think about a page flow where after page A normally page C is presentend, but in case of some situation (like a customer ordered something and you want to present some special offering based on that) you want page B presented in between (i.e. A -> B -> C). Oracle Rules could be used to determine this page flow. This would be an example of using it in the controller layer (probably in combination with using facts that come from the model layer).
Another remark that I would like to make, is that in my opinion it does not make much sense to use Oracle Rules for business rules that logically more or less are part of your data model (like end date must be on or after begin date). You typically use Oracle Rules to implement business rules that are of a volatile nature, meaning that day-to-day business may require a change of the rules. One example is the navigation case that I mentioned before. Another (typical) example would be a rule that defines when a customer is a Gold customer.

SAP Business Connector XML File processing
Hi All,
we're using SAP Business Connector to process XML Files (from NON-SAP system).
XML-Files are mapped to IDOCs and sent to our sap-system in order to create purchase orders.
Let's say we have 3 Purchase Orders (XML) in our SAP BC input directory,
the first purchase order has a header text (customer field), the following 2 dont. After processing the xml-files all 3 Idocs have the same header text of the first purchase order.
How can i change this behaviour?
Regards
REAHello Ramy,
You have to check this logic of t BC. if you want to check the Idocs then goto WE02 in SAP.
if you are using message type PORDCR1 then check segment E1BPMEPOTEXTHEADER or PORDCR thne check segment E1BPEKPOTX

Validation error : Business Partner currently being processed
Hi,
Can anyone suggest a solution for the following error.
Business Partner is created thru transaction BP in CRM.
The newly created Business partner is saved and after coming out of
transaction ,When we checked BDOC status in SMWO1 for BUPA_MAIN
Object , it gives following errors:
1) business partner xxxx is being processed by xxxx ( user )
2) validation error occurred :Moodule CRM_BUPA_MAIN_VAL ,BDoc type
BUPA_MAIN
We found BP gets created successfully in R/3 side even though above
error occurred.
When we reprocessed the error message in SMWO1 , it is processed
successfully ( status "green" )
Pl. suggest a solution.
Thanks in anticipation !

Business Logic in ETL process of Oracle_BI_DW_Base.rep
Hi,
Are there any docs or web pages that convey business logic used in informatica mappings used for Order Management ?
Ex: SIL_SalesOrderLinesFact
Do we need to open every transformation in it and see the query or sql overrides to acquire business logic ? Or Oracle gives any standard docs on this ?
Thanks,Short answer is no. There is no Oracle document that gives the "business logic" for all the ETL mappings. It would be wonderful if that existed. The best approach is to dig into the mappings and try to understand the flow. Using the DAC and Informatica, along with the DMR (data model reference), you can formulate the general strategy that Oracle uses. Some of the mappings/mapplets/transformations also have some comments. What you will see is that Oracle uses similar strategies across the stack. For instance, the method to do SCD Type 2 changes, or to do Aggregation..or to lookup to get the proper WIDs...its similar across all the OBIA apps.

Moved songs, lost in process.... please help!
I bought a laptop and tranfered my library from my desktop to it. I decided to make my laptop home and removed itunes from the desktop. Something went wrong with the laptop and I had to do a system recovery and lost everything. I still have all my songs on my ipod and I cant get any from my computer to my ipod and vice versa. PLEASE HELP ME!!!!!!!!!
If I'm understanding right your wanting to load the songs that are on your iPod to your laptop hard drive. If so this may help you in doing so...
1. Double-click on the My Computer icon on the Desktop.
2. Locate your iPod in the window that appears and select it.
3. Choose Folder Options from the Tools menu in the My Computer window.
4. Click the View tab in the Folder Options window that appears.
5. Look for the Hidden Files and Folders entry. Below this entry enable the Show Hidden Files and Folders option and click Apply to reveal the hidden files.
6. Dismiss the Folder Options windows by clicking the OK button.
7. Double-click the iPod’s icon in the My Computer window.
8. Move to the Finder and double-click on the iPod’s icon on the Desktop.
You’ll discover that several more items now appear in the iPod window. Among them is a folder called iPod_Control.
9. Double-click the iPod_Control folder.
Inside the iPod_Control folder you’ll find the Device, iTunes, and Music folders along with the iPodPrefs file.
10. Drag the Music folder to your Mac’s Desktop to copy it to your computer.
As the name implies, this is where music is stored on the iPod.
11. Return to iTunes and drag the Music folder you just copied to iTunes’ main window.
The songs you copied from the iPod will be added to iTunes. If you’re a tidy type, before copying those files to iTunes, open iTunes’ preferences, click the Advanced tab, and make sure the Keep iTunes Music Folder Organized and Copy File to iTunes Music Folder When Adding to Library options are enabled. Enabling these options will organize your iTunes library in the way iTunes prefers. -
What happens if TECO and Business complete steps not processed
HI
If I am not doing TECO and Business complete transactions after Order confirmation, what will be its effect ?
Plz help.
RegardsTechnical completion records the time at which malfunction has finished and it contributes to records MTTR and MTBR.Secondly it clears all your reservations for which goods are not issued yet and mark purchase requisitions for deletion which are not converted to purchase orders. Moreover you can't maintain the rework ratio for work orders.
Business completion is financial completion of work orders. On business completion,no more costs can be posted on the specific work order account and moreover the man-hours consumed during maintenance work order are transferred to HR module.

thank youBucht:
Here's how to get around that conundrum. Put them in an album and export from the album using the File->Export->File Export menu route and select the "Use album name" option. This will produce files with filenames as follows: Albumname-01.jpg, Albumname-02.jpg, etc. This will let you put them all in the same folder.
Does your camera have the option to not start renaming back at 1 at each new use? If so then you can get around this issue in the future. Or, upload to a folder on the desktop using Image Capture and then run R-Name on the folder to sequentially batch rename them to something other than the camera's designation.
Do you Twango?
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance. -
ALE logical systems for business service or process
Hi,
I am trying to send an IDOC into my R/3 system. It is the same IDOC type that I have sucessfully sent out to parties. All the config is in place for communicating with the system, because I have sent others IDOCs in the past. However, they always were sent from another R/3 business system. They processed sucessfully.
I am now trying to sending IDOC's from a BPM,as well as, from a business service. They are under the "With Party" section of the directory. These obviously do not have logical systems, so when I try to send the IDOC I get
"Unable to convert the sender service Purchase_Orders to an ALE logical system", where purchase_Orders being the name of the business serice.
How can I handle this problem?
Should I hard code values somewhere?
Which ones?
I have read the other posts for the error above, but my situation seems to be different.
Help!
ChrisHi,
To solve your problem, here my solution:
1/ In your Business Process of your ID (configurator), go to menu "Service > Adapter-specific identifier" and in the part "IDoc Adapter", write your Logical System.
2/ Create this Logical System on your target system (R/3).
WARNING: XI allows you to used a Logical System for only one service (Business Process). Thus, if you are several interfaces, you must used different Logical Systems.

How to return a Soap Fault from a business process
I'm trying to re-implement an existing web service in WLI that can return soap
faults to clients when business errors occur while processing a request. Is this
possible to do with WLI, and if so can someone please point me in the right direction?
thanks...If your JWS can throw a SOAPFaultException, that should return a SOAP fault to
the client.
