BUSINESS CONTACT MANAGER HISTORY PDF FILE

I SCAN PDF FILES AND LINK TO CUSTOMER NAME.   I HAD TO REINSTALL OUTLOOK BCM NOW SOME OF MY HISTORY FILES DO NOT WORK BUT ALL NEW ONES DO.  BUT MOST WILL NOT OPEN. THE FILE IS IN THE HISTORY LIST, BUT I GET ONLY A BUSINESS
ACTVITY  SCREEN WITH THE FILE NAME LISTED UNDER COMMETS BUT IT WILL NOT OPEN.  THE FILE IS THERE AND WILL OPEN OUTSIDE BCM.  IS THERE A WAY TO RELINK THE HISTORY FILES FROM ANOTHER LOCATION, IN BULK.

Not to my knowledge. You can relink email messages based on the email address but there isn't a way to re-link journaled files.

  • Business Contact Manager fails to install component Mssml.biz

Windows 8.1 with office 2013, attempting to install x.86 32 bit version of BC upgrade 2010. each install fails to install this component mssml.biz. Have attempted everything published on this problem i could find, clean install, run fix it, deleted everything
SQL in programs, cleaned out registry, reboot, installed SQL express as stand alone then BC, all fail with same error.  Unit is 100% up to date on all patches.

    Hi,
Thanks for posting your question here, I will be assisting you on this issue.
For getting a better understanding of what has got in the way of installation, we may need to collect installation logs during BCM Setup:
    For Windows Installer Setup log
                drive:\setup.exe
    /l*v c:\Setup_log_name
    The MSDE Setup log
MSDE Setup log is automatically created during Setup. You can find it under temp folder with
              name like
    Msde_setup_number.log (Ex. Msde_setup_1108685580.log)
              click
Start, point to  Run, type %temp%, and then click
    OK.
    - The MSDE configuration log
The MSDE configuration log is named Cnfgsvr.out. the Cnfgsvr.out log located one of the
               following
folders, depending on the version of BCM you are using:
                   . Business Contact Manager:
                        C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL$MICROSOFTBCM\Install
                  . Business Contact Manager Update:
                       C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL$MICROSOFTSMLBIZ\Install
Please send the log through mail to:
    [email protected]
As you’ve tried a lot trouble shooting steps already, let not repeating those steps till we have the log.
This Article is a detailed reference for log collecting and some trouble shooting steps which you might already tried.
    Thanks for your understanding.

  • How to manage a data file using Business Contact Manager database tool

I set up BCM on my desktop and now want to share with the rest of the office. I downloaded BCM database tool on the C drive
of the server and all was well until I tried to move through the wizard. The only option that gets me to a data file is creating a database. However, I receive the error message "Cannot create a new database. The operation has been rolled back. Please
make sure the database service is running". How can I make this work? Truthfully, I don't want to create a new database - I have already set one up; Restore only gives me the database server instance but no choices for the database name list. I have installed
BCM on another co-workers desktop and allowed the database to be shared with her. What more am I missing? Why can't I get the server to see the data file?

    Hi,
If the Database has not been shared, you can't connect to it.
Please also confirm you have been granted permission to access the shared Business Contact Manager database.
You can refer to this article below and there are some factors that you should consider:
Business Contact Manager cannot connect to the shared database
    http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/outlook-help/business-contact-manager-cannot-connect-to-the-shared-database-HA010262548.aspx
I hope it can be helpful.

  • Can I use Business Contact Manager in Outlook 2011 on my Macbook Pro?

I just switched from a PC to a Mac and use the Office Suite for work, so I installed the Office 2011 for Mac. We use Business Contact Manager to manage our contacts and conversations at work (mostly for records of email exchanges and phone conversations), but I can't seem to figure out a way to install that add-on in the Mac version of the Office Suite. Any suggestions?

    Why would you use two?
It is much cheaper and better to simply use a usb drive..
The TC cannot be linked to store files or automatically back them up.. whereas a usb drive at least will be backed up by Time Machine.
If you want to do this properly get a real NAS.. that has mirrored drives and real rsync type backup. You can use an airport extreme for wireless.

  • Business Contact Manager Plugin does not install successfully in Outlook 2010 Professional Plus

I work for a company that has provided me with a volume licensed version of Microsoft Office Professional Plus 2010. We do a lot of customer tracking so I looked into options to utilize Outlook and found out about the Business Contact Manager plugin. I tried
to download and install it from the public site but was informed that the public version would not work and that I would need to request a compatible version from my company that they could access through a contracted download portal.
I worked with support and they were able to locate the file and install it on my computer. Once I tried to start working with it though I found that there was no Business Contact Manager tab or any of the additional functionality that I needed.
I contacted support to follow up and they again tried several times to install the plug in, but although there was never any error message the installation also never resulted in the business contact manager tab being added or in any reference to it being
added to my list of plugins.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi,
Go to Control Panel -> Programs and Features, can you see any version of Business Contact Manager installed? If yes, please uninstall it first from there, then delete the registry keys below(if they exist):
    ImportantThis
section, method, or task contains steps that tell you how to modify the registry. However, serious problems might occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you follow these steps carefully. For added protection, back up the registry
before you modify it. Then, you can restore the registry if a problem occurs. For more information about how to back up and restore the registry,
    http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/Back-up-the-registry

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\\Microsoft\Business Solutions eCRM

Then we can try performing a clean boot to install Business Contact Manager again. In Clean Boot Mode, it can eliminate the conflict by background programs as much as possible. Check if you can install it properly:

  • Cannot install Business Contact Manager - trying to run another application

    Hello
I am trying to install Business Contact Manager for Outlook 2013, but every time when I run the installation file and the file extraction starts, a window opens trying to install a completely different programme - Wunderlist, which I had on my computer.
I deleted all of the files related to Wunderlist and tried to install BCM again, but the same thing happens over and over again. I took a snapshot of the error message. After every attempt, I find a file of the type ClickOnce Application Deployment Manifest
    related to Wunderlist C:/Users/rg/AppData/Local/Microsoft/Windows/TemporaryInternetFiles/Content.IE5/T5VFSWN6/Wunderlist.application
Is this a problem with BCM or Wunderlist? Has anybody had a similar problem? Any suggestions how I can solve this issue?

    Hi,
Make sure you downloaded Business Contact Manager from Microsoft, if no, please download Business Contact Manager from this link below:
    http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=36513
I actually haven't seen the same issue before, you may perform a clean boot to install BCM, this will help forbid the interference by other programs:

  • Business Contact Manager for Outlook 365

I have a laptop with 8.1 OS and Office 2013 loaded and running fine. Use Business Contact Manager on my laptop and it works fine.
Can do the all the same on Office 365 except for Business Contact Manager.  It is listed and shows up under Tasks but nothing happens when it is selected.

    Hi,
I think the "Office 365" in the second paragraph should be Outlook 2013 in this customer's post.
Please go to FILE -> Options -> Add-ins, check if BCM is disabled or inactive. Enable it and start Outlook again to check the result.

  • Office 365 Outlook 2013 and Business Contact Manager Performance issues

I have some slowness with Outlook 365 at times. Most of the times, Outlook will have to restart. I use Business Contact
Manager so I cannot turn off Exchange Cache. Are there some steps I can follow to troubleshoot? The problems started 7 days ago and seem to be getting worse.

    Hi,
The Outlook slowness problem can be caused by many factors, one common cause is some 3rd-party add-ins. We can troubleshoot in Outlook Safe Mode first:
Press Win + R and type “outlook.exe /safe” in the blank box, then press Enter.
If there’s no problem in Safe Mode, disable the suspicious add-ins to verify which add-ins caused this issue.
We can also check the OST file size since large .ost files can also slow the performance of Outlook.
Make sure that offline OST file in Outlook isn't too large. A large OST file may indicate corruption or fragmentation of the file. This can affect performance.
In Outlook, right-click the mailbox in the navigation pane, and then click
    Properties.
Click Folder Size, and then note the Total size value on the
    Local Data tab.
Open the Outlook system folder by opening the following folder path, depending on the operating system:
Windows 7 or Windows Vista: %userprofile%\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Outlook
    Windows XP: %userprofile%\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook
Note the size of the OST file for the user’s Outlook profile. If the OST file is more than 3 to 4 gigabytes (GB) larger than the
Total size value, the file may be corrupted or fragmented. Close Outlook, rename the OST file, and then reopen Outlook to re-create the OST file.
Some other troubleshoot steps can be found in this Microsoft Knowledge Base:

  • CCME integration with Microsoft Business Contact Manager

    Hi,
Can anyone tell me, if a CCME can be integrated with Microsoft BCM such that when a call comes in details of the client pop up, should they exist in the Business Contact Manager.
Finding exact information is like find a needle in a hay stack.

    Hi Swinster,
    Apologize for the late reply.
What is your current situation? As JS2010 stated, also in this KB article:
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2101557
During the 'Specialize phase' of Sysprep, Sysprep.exe looks at the Last Modified Date of the ntuser.dat file for each user profile to determine which user profile to copy to the default user profile. However, the earlier cleanup functions of sysprep.exe
loads each Ntuser.dat file to make security ID (SID)generalizations. You cannot predetermine which user profile will be copied if more than one user profile exists.
How about we skip the copyprofile option?
Further, see if the following article would help to customise the user profiles settings:
Configuring Default User Settings – Full Update for Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2

Or we may consider seek help at the office outlook forum for the BCM deployment.

  • Business Contact Manager 2013 Issue with drop down menus not working correctly and BCM disappearing.

We upgraded from BCM 2007 to BCM 2013.  Now the BCM disappears from Outlook occasionally and the drop down menus are confused. for instance when accessing the drop down for phone numbers, the user selects company - but the field for TTY/TDD comes up.
Shows fields that don't exist etc.
The client is using Office 2013 Pro Premium from Office 365 Small Business Premium subscription and BCM downloaded from Microsoft website.
Please let me know what the support avenues are for this product.

    Hi,
This issue may be caused since the BCM was not installed properly.
Please go to Control Panel -> Programs and Features, find Business Contact Manager for Microsoft Outlook and Uninstall it.
    Then go to
http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=36513, download the right version of BCM(32bit or 64bit) and install it.
If issue persists, you may provide the screenshots of the issue, post them to SkyDrive and share it via a link:https://skydrive.live.com/, then we will have a better understanding on the issue.

  • How could I install outlook with business contact manager 2007 in windows 8.1 system?

Recently I got a new 8 win pc, then I tried to instal Outlook with business contact manager 2007 but I couldn´t
The reason: sql server is not compatible. Would you please let me know how to fix that problem?

    Hi CarlosZC,
Since the issue regards Outlook with business contact manager 2007. I suggestion you post the question in the Outlook forums at
http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/office/forum/outlook?tab=question&status=all&auth=1. It is appropriate and more experts will assist you.
According to your description, we need to verify the version of the SQL Server, usually the warning of compatibility issues applies to all SQL Server Express editions when installing Business Contact Manager (BCM) 2007 on Windows 7/8. The incompatibility
was fixed in SQL Server 2008 Service Pack1 and SQL Server 2005 Service Pack 3 on Windows 7.
There is a similar issue about compatibility message when installing BCM 2007 on Windows 7, you can review the following article.

  • Migrate Business Contact Manager to Office365

Hi, I've today been told by presales at Microsoft that Business Contact Manager BCM is available to download and will work with the MS Office365 O365 Business Premium Plan.
We're about to migrate a client currently on MS Office 2007 and heavily using BCM and also shared mailboxes to MS Office365.
What is the migration path for their BCM data?  What is the preferred way to migrate their shared mailboxes?
    Thanks
( the link to download BCM seems to be http://www.microsoft.com/en-in/download/details.aspx?id=36513)

For mailbox migration to Office 365, the right place is Office 365 forum:
    http://community.office365.com/en-us/f/default.aspx
If you have a Business Contact Manager database that was created with an earlier version of the Database Tool, you can use the Business Contact Manager for Outlook 2013 Database Tool to migrate the database so that it will be compatible with Business Contact
Manager for Outlook 2013. For example, if you created a database in Business Contact Manager for Outlook 2010, you can use the Business Contact Manager for Outlook 2013 Database Tool to migrate that database.
    Open
    the Database Tool.
Click the Migrate a database option, and then click Next.
In the Database Server Instance list, select the SQL Server instance to which you want to migrate your database, and then click
    Next.
In the Database Name list, click the name of the database that you want to migrate, and then click
    Next.
When the Task completed successfully message appears, click
    Next.
Click Finish if you want to return to the Welcome page of the wizard to complete other tasks, otherwise click the
    Close button.

  • Microsoft Business Contact Manager 2013, addiiton MSSQL NT Service accounts and Sysprep deployment on WIndows 7

    Hi all,
I'm running into a problem when trying to sysprep and deploy a Windows 7 image with Business Contact Manager pre-install during the audit mode. Before anyone shouts, I have posted the main question in the Windows 7 deployment forum, but I would like some
additional help as to what the "NT Service" Accounts are for with regards to the BCM insatalltion
During the installation of BCM, we get an installation of MSSQL, and during this installation MSSQL creates three user accounts used by the "NT Service" account:
    MSSQL$MSSMLBIZ
    MSSQLFLDLauncher$MSSMLBIZ
    ReportServer$MSSMLBIZ
When you run 'sysprep' with generalise option, and use the CopyProfile in the Specialise pass, sysprep copies the profile information from the last 'changed' profile. Whilst this should be the Administrator profile (as far as I can see), what is happening
is that the profile from 'ReportServer$MSSMLBIZ' is being used.
The rule of thumb when using the CopyProfile option is to ensure that only ONE account is present - i.e. the current administrator profile. The easy option is therefore just to delete the MSSQL accounts.
In the current state of play, even after I deploy the generalized image (with the copied 'ReportServer$MSSMLBIZ' account), I end up with only three users when looking at
"Manage --> Local User and Groups" (the Administrator, Guest (disabled) and HomeGroupUser$ user), so all the above "NT Service\MSSQL" accounts disappear during the sysprep process in any case.
I'm not sure what the effect will be on BCM for the end user. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what might be the best course of action.
    Cheers
    Chris
    Chris

I don't suppose anyone has got any cluse about these users, what they do and how best to then deploy BCM as part of an image?
