Hi,
Install n Transport is option usually used to install the collected objects and automatically transfer.
All the Business content objects r by default in the D version .
we need to activate them to A version.
Match/copy option , if selected will not write the objects in the datadictionary if they r already activated . this will increase performance n save time . its always recommended to use , else for the first time.

Check the following from your SAP GUI.
System > Status >SAP system data >
Browse SAP system data there you can see the version of installed Business Content.

0TCAIPROV install from Business Content or transport ?

I need to know : for infoobjects 0TCAIPRO, 0TCAVALID, 0TCAACTVT that don't exist in quality and production, but in DEv I can see them, should I transport from dev to QA/ PROD? Or install them direct in QA/ PROD?

Hi,
Ofcosurse you have to install them through business content,collect in the transport request and move it from one landscape to another.
It will make the landscape consistent and all the issues will get resolved in all the landsacpes.

Problem with Business Content install in ECC5 IDES

Hi,
I am having tough time installing business content.
After installing ECC5 IDES, I am trying to install Business Content in BW ( Client 800).
In SBIW, (under Business Content DataSources), I did Transfer Application Component Hierarchy.
Then I transfered few DataSiurces ( 0MATERIAL_ATTR)
Then in BW, I did "Replicate Data Sources". I see all the Datasources in "Data Source Overview"
But When I try to install Business Conetent ( rsa1>> Business Content >> Select Object Types >> InfoObjects>> Select Objects>> Double click ), I couldn't find any InfoObjects from source system. I tried the same for InfoCubes as well..
Am I missing anything?? I appreciate your help.

ECC will have content for 'source system' ie datasource and extractors. On your BW system you need to have the business content add on available before you can see such objects there (infoobjects, cubes).
BW system (whether in the same IDES or another system) needs to have this BW Content add-on. It is one additional step, just having the BW system (without this addon) will not give you what you are looking for.
BW content add-on is typically one set of transport files, installed using SAINT transaction. My guess is your system doesn't have it.

Adding Business Content to Transports

Somebody at work has installed some BC without including it in a transport.
Is there any way of finding out exactly what was installed so that I can retrospectively include it in a transport?
I know that the bloke followed a specific building block but obviously in those you select the cube and do a 'in data flow before and afterwards', so it doesn't tell me exactly what was installed.
I wonder... could I just re-install the building block with a transport?

Hi Stuart,
In the Transport Connect (RSA1) you can use settings similar to the business content installation, i.e. Before and Afterwards to collect the related objects. As you mention that this is new content, the objects you need to transport should all be $TMP objects.

The objects are not installed in business content, they are installed from business content.
All objects with a 0prefix in your system would be installed from business content.
If you want a list of infoobject , cubes, DSO already installed, you would need to go to their corresponding dictionary tables in SE16. Enter RS* <infoobject/cube/dso>* and press F4.
Check all active objects in these tables. You could also check the objects in meta data repository or transport connection.
For eg : - RSODSO, RSDIOBJ etc
Also your previous question on LO appended structure is not very clear. Please give further details.
You may not see the data in the extractor due to various reasons like filed is hidden in data source(unhide it).
The user exit code required to populate the appended fiel is not in place, or is not syntactically correct or the project is not active.
Set up table is not refilled since you have appended the extractor.

Business Content objects transport request error

Hi gurus
We have installed the Business content for CRM in development. Now we have moved the business content objects to Quality, but the issue was all the objects went and they are in the unassigned node. First time the infoarea for the respecitve objects were not selected. In development already the info areas were there, so i didnt select the infoareas for quality. But in quality nothing is existing.So my question is if i select the objects again with thier respective info areas, will i get the objects again aligned in proper order in quality. As already objects are there in unassigned nodes in quality will effect the next transport.

It will definately works.
By the by:
And also collect respetive Info object Catelogs also.So that Infoobject sits under proper Info area.Otherwise you will get same problem with IO(what you got with Cubes).

Data Flow Question in newly Migrated Business Content Install

Hi, I just converted my Purchasing Business Content from 3.5 to 7.x. This Content Loads the InfoCube directly from the Data Source. After my DataFlow Migration I am left with still having an InfoSource.
Here is a picture of my Data Flow

I thought I would not have an InfoSource after all of this. Is this correct?

I beleive it's absolutley correct result after migration.
I had the same thing with infosources when migrating 0sd_c03 and never had issues with that.
Infosurces can be used in 7 data flow as sometimes it's a good thing to have additional transformation between source and target (allow for more flexibility in data transformation)
By the way your infosurce also migrated as its a 7.x infosource now. I beleive it has a different object type compared to old 3.x infosurce. You can actually check the object type in se11, Tadir, select by your infosurce name.

Business Content Install - Don't Understand Error

I am trying to install InfoCube 0papa_c02 (HR InfoCube). No active version of this cube exists in our system (BW 3.5).
I'm doing a simulation and chose "Only Necessary Objects." The simulation fails because of this error:
InfoObject 0DATEBIRTH is only allowed as an attribute (not in InfoProvider).
I did not select 0DATEBIRTH to be activated since it's already in the system in the latest version.
I also tried selecting it anyway but got the same error.
(Note: I did not select most of the objects associated with this InfoCube because they're aleady in the system in the latest versions.)
Can anybody help me?

You are right. 0DATEBIRTH was marked as attribute only. I unchecked that and reran the simulation in our sandbox and did not get any errors.

Business Content Instalation

Hi ,
I have created a source system for Production in BI .
I used Replicate data source in Production server source
system , But didnt get application component .
I loged on to production , Used code SBIW , and clicked
"Transfer Application component Hierarchy " . I got that now in BI .
Now In applcation component i could not find any data sources , i Could only see application components .

What is steps to be followed .

Now you just replicate in the source system then automatically data sources will get reflected.

Error installing business content

Hi Experts,
i am getting an error while installing business content for sales and distribution.
i.e-The creation of the export DataSource failed,
The metadata for a DataSource must be created while the export InfoSouce is being generated. An error occurred at that time.
could any body help.

The DS should be Activated at R/3 to Install the Business Content on BI side.
Recheck the same with the following
R/3
RSA5--Activate the Data Source -- (RSA6 -- Transport the Data Source -- required if you want to replicate on BI Side)
BI Side
Business Content -- Install the same with required grouping conditions (Only necessary objects would be best option)

I have read so many answers and papers giving the steps how to transfer,replicate and extract business content, that is all fine and very helpful. I apologise for very long topic, but I think answers to this would help loads of learners like and everyone would be grateful to you(all).
But not found a details such as for e.g. for cube 0FIAP_C03
Question: Does this business content has InfoObjects,ODS, InfoCube and BEx queries are already defined in BW? Do we need to activate them and start reporting on the queries?
R/3 Side:
1. Transfer Data sources 0FI_AP_3(Vendors: Line Items) and 0FI_AP_4(Vendors: Line Items with Delta) from R/3 from RSA5. Does this mean that the Data sources are created/activated in R/3?
BW Side:
2. AWB --> Source Systems --> Select Source System ---> Right click ---> Replicate Data Sources. When I click on + sign next to the DS, this shows already assigned infosource. When I click on - sign next to the DS, this asks an infosource to be assigned. What does the +/- sign means there? What does the 'TICK MARK' means there?
3. AWB ---> Business Content ---> Install --> Do we get a chance here to activate InfoObjects, Transfer Rules,Update rules, Infocube and BEx query? Once we install here, then only the cube 0FIAP_C03 is going to appear in InfoProvider and then for BEx query designer?
4. AWB -
> Info Sources -
> My Application Component ---> Assign InfoSource (We already did that in Step2, what does this mean here?) -> Assign Data Source-> Create InfoPackage -

Answer:Business content has infoobject, ods, infocube, queries in "D" version.
SAP delivers the BI Content objects in a new D Version.
Before you can work with BI Content objects, you have to convert them from the SAP delivery version (D version) into the active version (A version).
R/3 Side:

Ans: Once install it it will be available in Active version accroding to the component it has been assigned(SD or CRM). otherwise it will be in Unassigned Node.

if you want to activate cube in business content do this steps.
1).select your data source and maintain all the things in r/3 side.
2).then come to bi side .
3).t-code rsorbct.
4).you must have an idea about your app component .i..e that app belongs to sd or mm or hr or finance .
5).if it belongs to purchasing select infoobj and select supply chain management ,select purchasing.
6).select char and key fig,drag and drop it into right side component .
7).select info provider select supply chain management and select your cube .
8).how to find cube .that is cube like 0pur_c01,c02,c03,c04 like that select any of the cube and drop in to right side component .
9).now installation part.
10).select source system top side and select your source ecc 6.0, select component and select install/activate.
11).now your cube is ready to use .create package for full,initialize ,delta.ok
