Business emails in Inbox deleted on Iphone also delete from Outlook Inbox on Computer

There are numerous discussions regarding the deletion of emails from Outlook on the computer when they are deleted from the iphone, mine being a 4s.  I have two email accounts set up on my iphone.  One setup in Other for my personal domain email account and the other is setup through Exchange for my business email that interacts with my Server.  True there is an Advanced setting for my personal email account but there is not an Advanced setting for my business email.  I have tried setting the Synch setting for my business email account on the iphone to 2 weeks.  Unfortunately the Push setting defaults to the Inbox and you cannot uncheck Inbox on the iphone.
There is no setting for my business email to tell it not to delete from the iphone.  I have actually had my iphone next to me deleted the email from my business Inbox on my iphone and watched it also delete from my Inbox in Outlook on the computer.
What do we do to stop business emails from being deleted in the Outlook Inbox when deleting them from the iphone?  Please advise of the correct settings and how to get to it when there is a business email set up on the iphone that is on an Exchange Server that when the email in the inbox on the iphone is deleted that it doesn't delete from the Inbox in Outlook on the computer.
Thanks.

It is possible with a Blackberry due to RIM's dedicated email delivery service. The Blackberry's email client does not communicate direct with the Exchange Server with an Exchange account or direct with the incoming mail server with any email account.
It is not possible with an email client that communicates direct with the Exchange Server such as with the iPhone's email client, with the Android email client, and with the Windows mobile email client. This is possible with the Blackberry's email client and dedicated email delivery service only which is going out of business unless RIM ends up being purchased by another company.

Double check your contacts email, and if its incorrect, go to their contact and change it and save it or you can delete the email you put in, and manually type it in.
    Hope this helps.
How would that help the original poster?

You can synchronize your Outlook contacts and your iPhone contacts via iTunes sync:

  • Is there a way to NOT delete emails everywhere using IMAP?  Emails come to all devices, iPhone 6, iPad, and Outlook (2010).  If I delete in my iPhone it deletes everywhere else also which I don't want it to do.

Outlook 2010 with Time Warner as my internet provider.  Had to switch from POP3 to IMAP and now when I receive messages and delete them from my phone they delete from my server, Outlook and iPad.
I want to keep them on my desktop in Outlook so I have them and I want to delete them from my phone so I'm not using up space.
I have tried changing the settings on my phone - deleted items go to trash and that worked one time then when I deleted another message it deleted on all devices.
    HELP!

The iOS mail app does not have localized folders (and frankly I don't know of any third party apps that do either).

Tried what exactly, what what expectation and what out come?
Outlook on Mac and windows, when not used with an exchange mail system, typically allows for creating local folders (or at least used to). Once you move a message into a local folder, you can delete it from the server. It will then only appear on the desktop computer. You do have to make sure what you are creating and using is a local (on this machine) folder.
However, unless you have sizable attachments - and choose to download then - email messages will not use substantial storage space on an iOS device.

This makes no sense to me why they would set it up like that.  I can't believe that people don't want to save e-mails on one device and keep them on another device.  Have to wonder who came up with this not so great idea!
Actually IMAP (and exchange, for that matter) is specifically and intentionally design to do just the opposite. The vast majority of user want their mail inboxes to be consistent across all access devices. You are very much in the minority.

  • Since 1.1.3, emails deleted on iPhone are deleted in Gmail/Yahoo

    Hi All,
I have two email accounts tied to my iPhone, Yahoo and a Gmail. Prior to downloading 1.1.3, if I deleted either a Gmail or Yahoo email from my iPhone, it wasn't also deleted from my online Gmail or Yahoo account. In fact, whenever I would log into either account on my PC, the messages would be in my inboxes as new, unread emails.
Yesterday after deleting a few of my emails from Gmail (and downloading 1.1.3) on my iPhone I signed into my Gmail account on my PC and noticed that: (1) I had no new messages which didn't seem right since I received the new messages on my iPhone; and (2) the messages I deleted from my iPhone were also deleted from my online Gmail account. I then logged into my Yahoo account and the same thing had happened.
Is there any way I can change the settings of my iPhone so that when I delete an email from my phone is isn't also deleted from my online email account as well? Much thanks.

Settings>Mail then click on the '>' opposite the email account you want to alter. Scroll to the bottom and touch 'Advanced' and modify 'Delete from server'.

  • Deleting e-mails on my iPhone also deletes on my Mac

I have a new iPhone 5s (purchased yesterday) and a MacBook Pro with v. 10.9.4.   I use Mail and have an AT&T account and an iCloud account. I finally, with help from Apple Support Communities, got the iPhone to receive my emails but when I delete an email on the iPhone it also deletes it on the MacBook Pro, which I do not necessarily want to delete.  Conversely, when I trash an email on my MacBook Pro, it does not remove the message from the iPhone.
What setting(s) have I screwed up?

What I'm leading to is that "sometimes", are large attachment will crash mail. Perhaps you can delete it on your computer if you're set as imap. If not, my only other suggestion is to delete the account from your phone & recreate it. At any rate, my post will keep it on the first page for others to look at with perhaps a better suggestion.

  • Does deleting a photo from my iPhone also delete it from my iPhoto Library?

I need to make room on my iPhone and so need to delete some pictures from it.  However, I have not yet manually downloaded all the pictures from my iPhone onto my iPhoto library but hope that they are their via Photostream.  Will deleting a photo from my phone also delete it from iPhoto?

iPhoto is self contained  by default and once a photo is in an event making changes outside of iphoto has no effect
MyPhotoStream is a cloud based sharing (which can be set in the iPhoto preferences  to automatically import from MPS into iPhoto) and changes from any device affect all other devices view of MPS - it does not affect photos that y=have been moved form M{PS to local storage - like importing to iPhoto does

  • Ooops, deleted mail account also deleted all mails - can I recover them?

    Hi there,
I deleted a mail account and now all the emails from the Inbox have been deleted as well (bummer). Does anyone have any idea if they can be recovered and how?
    Help would greatly be appreciated
    Thanks
    Andreas

There should be separate directories inside ~/Library/Mail for each account. Something like this, for example:
    [email protected]
    [email protected]
    [email protected]
    Mac-username
There should also be a ~/Library/Mail/Mailboxes directory that houses any "On My Mac" mailboxes.

  • Some emails keep reapearing after they have been deleated from the inbox, as many as 5 times.

After deleting from the inbox some emails reappear in the inbox in 1 to 3 hours. When I look in the trash they are in there multiple times with the same received time. It seems to always be my Hotmail account.

Reappearing emails can mean that the folder maybe corrupted.

''If you don't compact your folders regularly, performance can slow to a crawl, you can't store new messages anymore, start losing parts of messages or have deleted messages resurrected.''
Move all good emails out of the Inbox into other suitable folders for organising. If the Inbox is corrupted, it may not be possible for TB to work out where the end of a 'marked as deleted' email actually ends, so you may lose good emails, hence why I say move them first.
right click on 'Inbox' and select 'Compact'.
This will remove all traces of marked as deleted emails.
Read info on compacting, what it does and why it is important.

  • IPhoto deleted facebook albums also deleted iPhoto albums.

I hope someone can help me out.
I started up iPhoto after deleting a lot of pictures from Facebook. It stated something like do you want to import the pictures from facebook albums? I was like no because they are already on my iMac but not it seems they are gone.
Is there any way to fix this? I have a time machine back-up but it happened about a month ago.
    Thank you in advance.

As documented iPhoto syncs with FB so changes made to photos uploaded from IP to FB in either place are reflected in the other - deleting from FB also deletes from that album in iPhoto

  • Remove Workitem Attachment from Outlook Inbox

    Hi, Workflowers,
I would like to know, if possible can I remove 2 of the attachments. I think normally you have 3 attachments in the user's outlook inbox: for going to the SAP inbox, for displaying the work item, and for executing the work item. I would like to remove the attachment for displaying the work item and the one for the SAP inbox.
Is it possible to also customise the Missed Deadline mail subject so that it doesn't have the 'Missed Deadline...' part?
    Thanks in advance.
    Darlington

The text I am talking about is not the text in the Description tab of the PFTC transaction. I am fine with that. What I am concerned about is the standard text that appears in the outlook e-mail after the Description as follows:
"Open the SAP shortcut attachment in order to process the work item.
If you have any problems logging on, contact your system administrator."
And the message subject saying for example "Missed Deadline:...."
I know that when you run the report RSWUWFML2 under the block "Standard Text for Notification", there is a message class for the mail Subject "SWU_NOTIF" Message Number 2, which has &1: &2 in transaction SE91. How can I determine the text in these variables during runtime (In fact, I would like to Hard-code this text)
After I select "Collective Message" in the "Send granularity" block I have removed SWU_NOTIF_PROLOG1 for "Before Work Item Description" so that the standard text:
"Your Workflow inbox in the SAP system DEV, client 100, contains the following work item:"
does not appear in the outlook mail since I don't need it.
But I have not removed the SWU_NOTIF_EPILOG1. I would like to know how I can edit the text:
"Open the SAP shortcut attachment in order to process the work item.
If you have any problems logging on, contact your system administrator."
which I believe is the one involved with SWU_NOTIF_EPILOG1.

  • IPhone Notes transfer from Outlook

I have moved contact and calendar data to iPhone/iPad but am having trouble moving Outlook Notes or DejaOffice Memos to Notes on iPhone/iPad.  Help, I have so many Notes and want to move to iPhone format.

i went to one of the related threads and found the answer.  I had to go into Settings/Mail, Contacts, Calendar and turn off Notes for all Accounts where Notes appeared.  Once this was done, I could attach my phone to iTunes on my PC and see the Sync Notes with Outlook option under the Info tab of my iPhone.  Then I could sync the Notes from Outlook into Notes on my iPhone.  Now that they are in there, I can go back and enable iCloud sync for Notes and it will update my other Apple devices.  Now iPhone will be my master going forward.

  • Emails deleted on iPhone also are deleted on Outlook 2010

My boss has an older iPhone 3g that has been receiving pushed emails from an exchange server via forward to a Yahoo account and an iCloud account.  With the Yahoo/iCloud system he could deleted messages on the iPhone and they would remain in the Outlook 2003 inbox.  He is receiving a new PC with Windows 7 and Outlook Professional 2010.  The iPhone and iTunes are configured for Active Sync on the new system.  With Outlook 2010 and Active Sync emails that are deleted on the iPhone are now deleted on Outlook 2010.  The Exchange Server is 2010 running on Windows SBS 2011.  All software programs (iPhone, iTunes, and Microsoft software) are up to date with current releases.  Is there a way to delete emails on the iPhone and have them remain in the Outlook 2010 inbox?
    Thank you, Louis

Thank you diesel, I will have to find another way to tell my boss.  Using the Yahoo account and iCloud method he could clear his iPhone of emails and know they would still be on his office computer.  I guess he has a choice to make.
    Thanks again, Louis

  • When I delete an email in Mail, shouldn't it also delete it from the PoP and/or Web accounts also?

More specifically, when I delete an email message in "Mail",  it still appears in  the POP (in this case Verizon) and/or the Web (MSN) accounts that I have. I then must redundantly delete the message again by going into each of those accounts.  And this is vice versa.  If I delete it from my Verison email, the message still appears in Apples "Mail" app.  Why can't I get the deletes to sync?

Nope, Verizon only offer POP as far as I know so you need them to make the change, and good luck with that
Also please note that MS are having a few issues with their Imap service (it's brand new) you may find that deletes do not always replicate, but it is a known issue and MS are on it.
