Business Event Imparts with Skills (GAP UPDATE)

If the Business Event Imparts with Skill; does skill gets automatically updated once course attended by an employee?
If YES please explain what is required to be done to achieve this.

Dear Professionals,
I did the following;
Created a Skill
Assigned to Employee with Minimum Level
Assigned to Position as required skill with expert level
When I running GAP analysis it's showing as GAP
Created a Business Type
Maintained relationship IMPART for the above created skill
Maintained Procedure for qualification transfer
Create Business Event
Book Employees and Firmly Booked
But still Skill is not reflecting in employees qualification...
Kindly advice if I need to do anything more

We have been attaching attachments for business event types . Now Business want see how many attachments were attached for a particular event type.
However we are able to get attachments for a specific event type now problem is how to identify corresponding event type or number of a attchements
Do we have any standard report to get Business events type with reference attachments... or any thing so.

One solution is to, you define the attachments such as resource then you can use the resources to get the number of attachment for each event type.

I tried with
oracle.apps.ar.hz.Organization.update
oracle.apps.ar.hz.CustomerProfile.update
None of these seems triggering when Party information is updated example: Customer Profile, Customer Name itself.

In the EmpEO entity, created and published a new business event for employee creation.

Could you please tell me what I am missing, as I cant find any documentation which says anything about these errors. I tried added 'SOA Runtime' library to both model and UI project but still it did not work out.

This is the configuration of the global data source I created earlier when BE worked:

Intermittent Problem with Business Event.

I have a problem with a BES Event. My suspicions are that the event is intermittently nor firing. It's custom code subscribed to '*.apps.ar.hz.PersonProfileExtAttr.Update' (an EBS Person Profile Extensible Attribute Update).
In the first lines of the custom code an audit is written to a table. For some one the updates to the Extensible Attribute no audit is written.
The table HZ_PARAM_TAB is cleared for the item
Q: Is there a way to prove that the BES Event did/did not fire?

Business Events (What way they differ with triggers)

Hello All,
I am quite confused about the concept of Business events.(I know we have subscription to events in the subscrition we can call workflow or call custom code.
For example when a user is created (event) we can perform some action(Subscription))
But in the above said exampel we can achieve the functionallity by using the concept of triggers.
Can any one explain where we use the business events concept.
Also when we define an event in a work flow we have options like SEND,RECEIVE,RAISE. Does they mean the follwoing
1)Receive: We Receive the event.i.e when event happens we come to know that event is raised and we need to take some action.
2)RAISE: With this option we are trying to raise the event in workflow.
3)SEND : we are sending the event to an exteranl system.

Hi,
A trigger can only respond to something occurring in the database (e.g. logon, insert, update, delete). A business event can be raised by anything to indicate to the event manager that something significant has occurred - this might be from PL/SQL, from a form, from a trigger etc.
For example, if a user clicks a button in a form to cancel an action, there probably isn't going to be any database activity, so you couldn't use a trigger to perform some action. You could use a business event, though, since you can raise the event from PL/SQL easily.
I ALWAYS have a new process started by a business event, because it maximises the flexibility in the long term. If you want to change the processing, you can modify, add or remove subscriptions without the need to revisit any other code - if you disable the subscription(s), then the Event Manager just does nothing, so you can disable the functionality via a web-page rather than needing to modify any code to disable / enable the different processing.
Event activities in Workflow processes are (as you say) either receive, raise or send. Receive will respond to an event subscription when the event is raised to the Event Manager. Raise will raise a new business event to the Event Manager, which will then execute any subscriptions that exist for that event. Send will send the event to an agent - that may be within the same system or in a different one.

Update Business Event Description in PSV1

Hi,
I need to copy the Business Event Type description ( Program Objectives and Business Event Contents -Subtypes 2 and 3 ) into the description of each of the Business Events created under it. Can you suggest any BADI or User exit for the same? Is there any other alternative way?

Hi himanshu,
Use the function module RH_OBJECT_DESCRIPTION_WRITE. Using this function module you can update the descriptions for each of the subtypes you have mentioned for each event.

Problems with the windows update site in 32-bit Vista Business

Hi Everyone,
I am experiencing problems with the windows update site. As far as I know it shold make a link to the Windows Update module on-board and show the available updates after scanning. However, I get to the page that says "Checking if your computer has the latest version of Windows updating software for use with this website" and the next page I get is "The website has encountered a problem and cannot display the page you are trying to view". The error number is 0x80070002. I go to the knowledge base and delete the content of the Data Store folder as advised, but to no use at all. Active X controls are enabled Java is working fine. I've cleaned the register and everything, did a complete scan with Onecare as advised by Microsoft, which did not find anything but again the same error message. I am using KIS 2009 and I am sure I have no viruses or any other malware. I even tried to go to the update site with the KIS switched off but to no avail too. On the other hand I don't have problems with the automtic updates and when I run a manual update from the Update module everything is OK. Do you have any suggestion as to what might be the issue with the website updates?
P.S. I am using 32-bit Windows Vista Business on a Lenovo W500.

XSL Errors When Using AQ Adapter with EBS Business Events

I am triggering a BPEL process with an Oracle EBS Business Event. After receiving the event, I am trying to perform an XSL transformation to extract parameters from the event. However, I keep getting XSL errors because the BE field ERROR_SUBSCRIPTION comes in containing invalid XML characters (#).
It seems that BPEL or EBS do not properly escape the XML input. Is that a bug, or is there a way to work around this. I know I could filter the XML input in some way, but that seems likely to be more brittle to any future changes to the EBS BE message types.

Adding to the above post, how will the PL/SQL program which triggers the Business Event ensure that the complete data is enqueued in the queue in form of XML?
What will be the additional logic to send complete data in the XML format?

Facing issues with R12 and SOA 11g integration using Business events

Hi,
I am trying to integrate R12 application with Fusion using 11g SOA suite. I configured BES in R12 application and I am able to raise a business event and query it from WF_BPEL_Qtab. I have an Oracle applications adapter listening for the same event in SOA composite deployed over a server. I have verified the DB connection and schema for R12 application in 11g SOA server. However, no SOA instance is being generated. No server log as well.
I understand that 11g SOA uses EDN (using fusion_edn schema) for business events. Are there any changes expected to be done to Oracle Apps adapter to ensure the event is received.
P.S. Oracle apps adapter configuration is probably correct as the out bound calls are taking place correctly.

You should find it's usage noted in the new PCG user guide on page 3-26 under the heading "Configuring Workflow/Event Rules". This way you can have a Flow Rule call a business event component or a workflow. This would be kicked off within a process flow as one of the steps.

Facing issues with Oracle11i and SOA 10g integration using Business events.

I have created a custom business event and have added subscription for the same.
When i am triggering a business event, event is raised and the event data is getting inserted in the Queue (AQ).
In SOA i have created an OracleApps adapter that is listening to the queue ,
but the Oracleapps adapter is not getting started even though there are data in the queue.
I checked the WSDL file of Oracleapps adapter and there i can see there is field Consumer with some code.

Bim, apparently there is a connection error in your ITS service.
- check that zaw_pz31_ewt service is active, and it is located in "/bc/gui/sap/its/"
- test the service in the SAP Client that is mapping against Portal
- check that SAP_R3_HumanResources system is correctly assigned to the new configuration
If error continues, go to Portal side: create a simple iview based on transaction iview template that calls to PZ31. That is for ensure the transaction is working fine.
If it's OK, then create another iview but based on ITS iview template that refers to your service and test (maybe a property of your old iview is causing the problem)

Need to raise Business Event after insert or updates on a table

Hi All,
Requirement : I have a Custom table in Oracle E-biz (R12 using 11g database), Whenever any row is inserted or updated on this Custom table, I need to log this changes in an audit table and then raise a Business event.
Please suggest which are the best possible options.
I could sense few options like
1. Using Oracle Alerts (Event)
2. Using Triggers

Let me look into the links which you have sent.
Meanwhile i have few clarifications as given below:
1. If i use triggers, the trigger fires before the transaction is committed.
2. If i use event alerts, i see some delay in the alert firing. I tried creating a separate concurrent program for "Check event alert". But still i dont see any improvement.
Any suggestions on this ..?
