  • "404 error" for business explorer

    Hi Expert,
I installed SAP Business Objects Enterprise 4.0 SP2 for development, test and productive environment and they work fine. Development and Test BOE are installed in a single host instead the productive environment is installed in more hosts, in particular this is the configuration for the productive BOE environment:
    host 1: WAS (Tomcat 6)
    host 2: WAS (Tomcat 6)
    host 3: CMS server 1
    host 4: CMS server 2
    host 5: CMS DB
After that I installed BOE, I also installed SAP Business Explorer 4.0 in the development, test and productive environment (I installed BE in host 3 and host 4). SAP Business Explorer work fine in development and test system instead is not working in the productive environment. In particular if i go to BI lunch pad (productive environment) and I selected the Business Explorer icon the following error message appear:
    404 Missing Page
The page you requested is not available on this web server for one of the
    following reasons:
I checked on Central Management console the status of the Business Explorer servers and they are in status "running".
I noted that in the development and test system the file explorer.war has been created from the BE installation program in the following folder :
    "D:\Program Files (x86)\SAP BusinessObjects\SAP BusinessObjectsEnterprise XI 4.0\wdeploy\workdir\tomcat6\application"
instead in the productive environment the file explorer.war doesn't exist. How can I resolve this critical issue? Must I install some component also in the WAS hosts?
    Thank you for your help.
    Best regards
    gio'

Looks like you need to do a web tier install on your tomcat server or you could copy the war file over.  How did you deploy your war files when you did your initial install of BOE?  Do you see an explorer folder in your tomcat6\webapps directory?

  • Inactive menu "PC check" in Business Explorer

    Hello BI expert,
I 've installed SAPGUI 7.10 patch 4,  BW 3.5 addon patch 2 and BI 710 addon patch 300 on pc (window XP SP2, Excel 2002 SP3.
In the Bex Analyser, the entries tab PC check (and Browser, Web Application Designer) into the Business Explorer are not active (displayed as pale gray) ?
Files sapbexc350710.xla and sapbexc710.xla are present in C:\Program Files\...\SAP Shared\BW and the results is correct when I execute then directly.
But I don't understand why it is not possible to launch them by menu into the BusinessExplorer.
Thanks in advance for your help,
    Daniel.

  • HR Administrator POWL Toolbar Action Buttons are Inactive....

    Dear All,
I am new on NWBC POWL setting. I have configured HR administrator POWL with application (IBO_WDA_INBOX) and application Config.(ASR_HRADMIN_WDAC_POWL_INBOX) and all my HCM Process & Form tasks are working fine through it.
Now the problem is, some of the worklist toolbar buttons (Resubmit, Forward,....etc) are inactive (grayed-out) as shown in below screenshot.
I have done the all the configuration under SPRO>Cross-Application Components>Processes and Tools for Enterprise Applications>Inbox>.....
I have not found any settings related to these buttons in the SPRO settings.
Kindly help me out in this...Plz
    Chohan

    Hi Chohan,
Please check whether you have added Web dynpro application to the Role SAP_MANAGER_MSS_NWBC or not.
Usually for manager the application would be MANAGER_MSS_WDAC_POWL_INBOX
In PFCG - Menu Section if you have added a Webdynpro application IBO_WDA_INBOX with application ASR_HRADMIN_WDAC_POWL_INBOX to a Role then I think you will get access to those toolbar buttons.

    Mohsin.

  • Business Explorer Installation

    Hi Everyone,
I've installed the SAPgui and Business Explorer for BI7 and BW 3.5 on my system. Everything except the BEx Analyzer for BI 7 is working fine. When I try to start the Analyzer, an excel window pops up, but the BEx toolbar with the 'Open, Save, Refresh' buttons does not appear. When I execute RRMX, I get a message 'Business Explorer is not installed. Please install Business Explorer'.
I removed and re-installed BEx but I'm still getting the same error.
This problem is only with the BEx for BI7 component. The 3.5 BEx is working fine. Also the other components like Query Designer, Report Designer are working fine.
Is this a problem with my installation or am I missing some settings to be done for BEx for BI7?
    Thanks,
    Ram

Oké... than I know what you have to do:
read note 1121263 and implement the zip-file that is named there.
Actually, the bex analyzer is not properly installed because there is a key registration missing in your excel. (believe me: you are not alone... happened already with 3 of my customers...)
once you installed the zip-file, open your analyzer again and the ? is yellow and analyzer will work fine.
Don't forget to install support packages afterwards!
    Ciao

  • After I updated, now buttons on sites are inactive (I click on them and nothing happens). I've tried many things. What's going on?

I tried re-installing Firefox - no change. From Internet Explorer all buttons are active - this only happens in Firefox. 'Some' buttons on 'some' sites are active. But most buttons are inactive - the cursor placed above the button does nothing.

Both the Yahoo! Toolbar extension and the Babylon extension have been reported to cause this issue. Disable or uninstall those add-ons.

  • Trouble Shooting in Business Explorer and its Solution ....

    Hi All BW Experts,
I would like to have some sample of BW Reporting issue (Data Discrepancies)and how to solve them in General including its solution. Like on Navigation Display and etc, any input is very highly regarded.
    Thank You in Advance
    Kumar

    Hi dear,
first of all you need to divide the error analysis in several check-areas...
(WHERE your data is wrong ? in PSA? in data mart section? in the final infoprovider ? only at query level ? at DB level?)
As you can see, understand WHERE is your problem solves half problem it-self !
Then look at OSS notes, first of all to verify that there is no std bug in some pgm, or to receive some useful suggestion...
578379 "Analysis/Required infos for wrong values in BW Query Results"
565086 "Composite SAP note: Wrong or no data..."
112458 "Trace log in the Business Explorer"
    Hope it helps!

  • Authorisations to Save in a role in Business Explorer

    Good Afternoon,
I am attempting to allow certain users to save their workbooks in a certain role in Business Explorer, where they can share their workbooks with others that wish to see them (those who have access). But I don’t want the users to be able to save changes or create workbooks in every role.
I am currently adding the authorisation object S_USER_TCD (Authorizations: Transactions in Roles) with the value * (All transactions) to the role. Unfortunately this allows the user to modify workbooks in EVERY role. How can I avoid this and only have the one role modifiable??
Your help would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi Simon,
Using Auth object: S_USER_AGR, provide activities: 01, 02, 03, 06 and in the Role Name add the name of the role to which the workbooks are stored. This new role will then become your workbook maintenance role.
    Hope this helps...

  • Indesign CS4 task bar windows are inactive

I am using Indesign CS4 with Windows 7.  The tool bars in Indesign are inactive and won't allow me to select options from them.  Is there possibly a compatability problem with Windows 7 or is it something else that could be conflicting.  I'd appreciate any suggestions.

Yes, that does work.  I created a new standard account and went in through that account and can now access the toolbars.  The only problem now is that the screen items and fonts are now very difficult to see.  I am concerned that this problem may have been created when at one time under my own login account, I may have changed the screen resolution to see the screen better.  Do you think this could have caused my problem?  Thank you for your help.

  • Business Explorer (BEX) Query open Error

    Hi
When opening  BEX(Business Explorer) Queries from Excel  ,  it asks for System to choose.
But business doesn't want to see this option. It should go directly to open query selection for the system it has logged in.
Say , it has logged in BIQ  , it should go to open the queries selction for BIQ without asking to login to BIQ as user has already logged in BIQ.
In some other users desktop , when they open Queries from Excel it directly goes to open query selection without prompting for System selection
We are using  SAP GUI 7.20  patch 4 ,  BEX 3.5 patch 3.
We also have BEX 7.20 but we will not use it
We tried to with applying all latest patches but we still get the same error.
We perfomred a Excel test provided by SAP , that shows gree.
Business wants to use SAP GUI 7.20 patch 4 and BEX 3.5 patch 3.
Can any one help on this ?
Note:  please don't recommed to apply latest patch to  GUI or BEX  or apply patch to System component. . Thats not the solution as the current version works in some other desktops.
Please let me know if you want to understand more in this scenario.
    Thanks
    Rabi Kumar

    Dear Das,
In that case you need to call the RRMX transaction from your BW system and  if SSO works , then it leads you directly
    to the Open save dialog.
For SSO , I would suggest you to please implement the below note:
Note 1498947 :    RRMX: Logon mechanism for 720 GUI.

    Arvind
