  • How to Use the language function for assignment and validation

    Hi All,
If anyone can explain me in details with example ,how to use the language function for assignments and validations?
    Thanks
    Arnab

    Hi Arnab,
The expression is checked only for the current MDM session.
If u login with the ABC language it will always show the ABC language no matter how many times u execute it.
Try connecting to the DM with the XYZ language.
It should go to the if part rather than else.
    Hope it helps.

This has been solved for FB50. The original variant for FB50 had never beer created in our QAS system! So I was able to get the screen variant menu selections to reappear by running SHD0, editing, and then saving the transaction variant 'STANDARD 1' (not sure if that is SAP's name for the default variant).
Hope others find this information useful.

  • Reports available in the Business Package for MSS and ESS

    Hi,
I have searched sdn.sap.com throughout looking for a comprehensive list of reports available in the business packages for both MSS and ESS, i got a little bit of joy and found some of the MSS reports but not all on sdn.sap.com, can anyone please advise where i would find such information on both these packages, just to re-iterate, i am looking for a list of reports these business packages offer? any help much appreciated.
    Thanks
    John
P.s any documents can be sent to [email protected]

    @John
    (1) ESS- We built our own custom PORTAL role/workset in which one of the worksets we created is called "Tools and Forms". Under that workset, we placed various pages/iViews that either are simple URL iViews that link to external documents and such (like vacation request forms since they do not do online leave requests yet) as well as a couple ot t-code iViews that run reports in ECC for the employee. Nothing very mind blowing there. Just some content creation on the portal side.....oh, and some config on the backend to create a Homepage Framework Area Page and all for it (I liked that part!)
    (2) Wow....talk about perfect timing...I just had to document the way MSS sees the MDT reports in it's "reporting" area yesterday! haha Here goes the quick explaination....in configuration for MDT, you have various "scenarios". These kinda determine which "groups" of reports will show in MDT. For MSS for the Reporting webdynpro/service, the scenario is RPT0 (in ECC 5.0, at least). Soooo if you look at the function CODES assigned to RPT0, you will see several for Training and one for Accounting (Cost Centers)...you can reference the function CODES listed back to the "pool"/library of function codes a bit up/previous in the same config area for MDT(I think it is called "Define Function Codes"). However, there is one more piece you will see listed under RPT0....it is a DIRECT call to function MODULE "HR_HIS_READ" (this was a bugger to find because I could not find the "Maternity" report listed in the function codes and had to figure out where the heck it was coming from! haha). Anyways....what the function MODULE actually does is call the HR Information System (HIS) passing it the RPT0/MSS scenario. This returns the particular reports for Employee Data and Time&Attendance. You can see this if you run the HR_HIS_READ function directly and enter RPT0 for the second input value (first and third are not needed or you can just enter "*". Sooooo that is how the "magic" happens. Hope that explained it. From there, you can simply config you own scenario/reports to add into MSS if you like.
    Hope this helped!

  • Individual business system for ABAP and Java Stack

    Hi All,
I need to send message from a system to XI via ABAP proxy and Java proxy. The sender's ABAP and Java proxy use the same message interface to communicate with XI. Should I create one business system for the ABAP stack and one for Java stack of the sender system?
    Thanks + Best Regards
    Jerome

Are you sending same message type from ABAP proxy and Java Proxy to XI?
If you have ABAP proxy, why do you need Java Proxy? Actually you cannot create any Java proxies on ABAP bases systems. What kind of system sender is? Java proxies are created for pure Java based applications.
Let me know if I didnt understand your question correctly. If so, please explain in detail why you need both proxies and what is your sender application.

  • Functionality for Select and Save layout in a report output

    Hi,
I had developed a report program containing several fields in the output and requires the Functionality for Select layout and Save layout in a report output.
    Please suggest.
    Thanks,
    Shariq.

While calling the FM for List Display ( "REUSE_ALV_LIST_DISPLAY" or "REUSE_ALV_GRID_DISPLAY" ) set the Parameter I_SAVE for Setting the Layout and Selecting a different Layouts.
The possible values for I_SAVE are "A", "U", "X" or others. Depending on the requiement you can set different values for the Parameter I_SAVE.
' ' = display variants cannot be saved
Defined display variants (e.g. delivered display variants) can be selected for presentation independently of this flag.
    Changes can not be saved.
    'X' = standard save
Display variants can be saved as standard display variants.
    User-specific saving is not possible.
    'U' = only user-specific saving
The user can only save display variants user-specifically
    'A' = standard and user-specific saving
The user can save a display variant user-specifically and
as standard display variant. The user chooses in the display variant
    save popup.
    Reward points if helpful.

  • Business object for PO and SWOTICE entries

    Hi all,
We've copied the standard business object for a PO - BUS2012 to a Z object to be used in a workflow. In one of the methods for this Z object, we've used BAPI_PO_CHANGE to block an item of the PO. As soon as the program was generated, under the object list of the transport request for these changes, some entries got created for table SWOTICE -
        BAPIADDRESS
        BAPIEKET
        BAPIEKKN
        BAPIEKKOA
        BAPIEKKOC
        BAPIEKKOP
        BAPIEKPOA
        BAPIEKPOC
        BAPIEKPOTX
        BAPIESKLC
        BAPIESLLC
        BAPIESLLTX
        BAPIESUCC
        BAPIESUHC
        BAPIMMPARA
        BAPIRETURN
        BAPIEKKO
        BAPIEKKOL
        BAPIEKPO
        BAPIEKAN
        BAPIEKBE
        BAPIEKBES
        BAPIEKES
        BAPIEKKOTX
        BAPIESKL
        BAPIESLL
        BAPIESUC
        BAPIESUH
        BAPIRLCOPO
        BAPIRLGNPO
SWOTICE - index of frozen DDIC structures.
What is the significance of this table and items? Why did they appear in the object list of the transport request when the program was generated?
I checked these structures if they're a part of the BAPI_PO_CHANGE interface, but they're not.
They were present in the main program for the original business object BUS2012.
Could somebody throw some light on this?
    Regards
    Deepthi.

These are internally related to BUS2012. When ever U copy to a Z object and generate the object, some of the objects which runs the object gets generated automatically in the transport list. These are as such needed for the program to work fine.
