Business Graphics - Chart Type - Columns, and Simple Scatter Type

Hi,
I am interested to know more about Business Graphics Specially Chart types Columns and
Scatter type ( and Time Scatter). I am facing problem in producing X and Y Co-ordinate values for Charts. (Specially Date Values in X Axis.). I tried with Time Scatter type and need more documents.
Expecting Good Documents and suggestions.

Chart missing Columns and Lines

I have created a Column Line Chart and allow the user to input different values that change formulas to produce the columns and line on the graph. I can see the graph perfectly fine with all columns and the line on the canvas view. Whenever I try to export to any file type, upon opening the file, all but two of the columns are missing and the line is missing in all spots except for at two points.
I've noticed that if I remove my formulas from my spreadsheet and just put in hard coded values in place of the formulas, the report populates correctly, but this takes away all functionality of allowing the user to adjust inputs, which is the entire reason we are using this software.
Please advise how I can fix this issue so that my chart shows all data.

This is common - this can happen due to possible reasons like
1) The data in preview mode on which the formula is applied is not same as the hard coded or the one in design mode. So when you go to preview its different view in the chart
2) Some other component is messing with the excel ranges you are using for formula for the chart - some components which can drop values as per their destination property.
This is how you need to test
- Add a test spreadsheet table component ( from selector category) and map all the cells that's included in the formula - the original range, the input values from the user interaction, and the final ranges with formula and the range to which chart is mapped to if different from the formula range.
- Preview the dashboard and see whats going on in those cells and if they all are behaving as expected.
- if the original data range and the input data are what you anticipate and not changed by any other variable you are not considering.
Use more than one spreadsheet table if the ranges I suggested are not contiguous.

Business Graphics : Set label for a Simple Series

I need to set label to simple series of Business graphics object. Since the Label property is not bindable; i am looking for the alternative way to achieve this. (Any attempt to pass the context would give error msg: Method bindLabel( String) is undefined for the type IWDSimpleSeries)
I want to have a string value in each points in graph (Line Graph), not i legend.
tips will be highly appreciated.

The label property for IWDPoint should solve your purpose.
IWDPoint API 'label' property - This property is used to specify an optional text to be displayed for a point in a business graphic.

Business Graphics UI element Column Width

Hi Experts,
I am using business graphics UI element in my Web Dynpro application to display the chart in columns .
I am able to display the chart properly based on the node data.
But the issue that I am facing is that when the node data is less, the column in the chart is getting expanded(column width is increased) as I am not able to set the width of the column dynamically based on the node size.
The column width keeps on changing based on the node size.
Is there any possible way to set the column width dynamically or fix the column width irrespective of the node size?

The width and height properties of IWDBusinessGraphics are of type "int", so you cannot set CSS size values here. The Javadoc is wrong.

How can I create 25 charts on a page, each chart 2 columns and 10 rows

I need to create a chart that has 25 tables. 5 tables in 5 columns. Each table has 2 columns and 10 rows. I know it can fit all on 1 page as I have seen it done but I can not figure out how

I had some initial difficulty understanding your question. In Numbers, a "chart" is a graph.
You want to create a 5 x 5 array of tables, each with two columns and 10 rows, placed on a single page.
At the default size, each cell on a new Table is 1 inch wide and 0.2 inches high. So without displaying a title, each of your 25 charts would occupy a two inch square space.
Butted closely together, that's a space that is 10 inches wide by 10 inches high.
On a machine set to US localization,the default page size is US Letter, placed in Landscape orientation. Left, right and top margins are set to 0.75", bottom margin is 0.5", and there is a 0.25" height reserved for page header and page footer.
That leaves a working space that's 9.5" wide and 6.75" high.
Obviously, some adjustments will be needed.
0.2" is pretty much the minimum for row height. You can go smaller by typing in a smaller height in the Table Inspector, but even with 9 point type, you begin to lose the descenders on ps and qs. Go with 0.2, then use the slider in Print view to further shrink the content.
If you can narrow the columns significantly (to 0.75" or less), then go to Page setup and change to Portrait orientation.
In the Sheet Inspector, decrease all margins to 0.5", and the header and footer spaces to 0. Set page orientation to Portrait.
Now consider the Table(s). If you've opened a new, blank document, you'll have a multi column, multi row table with one header row and one header column. If you don't need the header row and header column, delete them (column A, Row 1) right away.
Reduce the number of rows to 10 and the number of columns to 2. Select the whole table and, in the Table inspector, set the row height to 0.16" and the row width to 0.73".
With the table still selected. press command-D four times to create four duplicate tables.
Go View > Show Rulers, then View > Show Print View. go back to the Table Inspector and use the slider to set Content Scale to about 94%.
Drag the still selected Table to the right margin of the page. Press command-A to Select All.
Go Arrange > Align > Top
Go Arrange > Distribute Space > Horizontal.
With all five tables still selected, press command-D to duplicate the set.
Hold down the Shift key and press the left arrow once, then the down arrow 14 times. This should bring the new row of tables into line with the previous ones, and move them down the page to just below the first row of tables. If fine adjustment is needed, use the arrow keys with the shift key released.
Repeat three more times to add another three rows of tables.
Adjust the spacing between tables as necessary.

The Series List is linked to a node, so my series are dinamically created during runtime. My problem is that the number of categories i have are allways different from the number of series, and categories is a discret set of values known at design time. How do i link each category to a set of values from the SeriesList ?

How to programmatically create a site column and a content type

Hello,
I'd like to create a site column (let's say a field text) and a content type, only using c# -i.e. I don't want to add new item/column and then xml. This code will be added to a FeatureActivated.My code is :

Nice code and it helped me understand. Some small questions. I'm trying to make all the "data" for a (sub)web site.
So, I think, my steps are:
1. create site columns+content type
2. create list
3. create a lookup site column that uses the list on <2>
4. create content type that uses the site column on <3>
5. Create the list for the content type on <4>
My confusion is: should I use one feature for everything? Your code is using scope=site, so i need to "hardcode" the web site's name. I don't mind doing that , I just don't know how to use scopes in features for creating data.

Removing shadows from charts (both column AND pie)

I can see there is a ShadowBoxItemRenderer (that I have no
idea from the help docs HOW to actaully implement to turn off
shadows) hoever - when/if this works - it only works on my column
chart? How can I turn off this nasty drop shadow beneath my pie
charts? Its very confusing.

I didn't regard #2 as bug - in fact I thought it was helpful to be able to set the size to zero as a workaround to the problem outlined in #1.
Regarding #3, if this is by design, then I'd suggest that it's a poor design choice to have checkboxes next to both titles and subtitles, since this implies that they should be able to be separately controlled.
Something else I've noticed with this formatting area is that the position and offset controls are disabled, and there doesn't appear to be any way to use them. It would be very helpful to be able to use these to move the position of chart titles. In a dashboard I'm currently building, we have a large stack of charts sized very small, to attempt to resemble the 'sparkline' concept. But the chart titles are so high, it's not clear which chart they refer to (they look like they might refer to the chart above it). As a result, I've had to remove the chart titles and place independent labels over top of each chart to be able to position them closer to the chart's display area.

I use BusinessGraphics in order to display data in chart.
Axis Y of my chart show big numbers like 500000.
Can I format this numbers to be displayed like 500,000?
I see the format fields in Chart Designer but what I should put there?

open the chartDesigner.
In the Overview tab on rightside you can find valueaxis property corresponding to y-axis.(there are two value axis,choose the first one).
expand it,you can find Line Property and click on it.
down you can find the Line related properties.
There,you can find Format option and in that enter the desired format you want ,for example specify like 50,000.
The Other values in y-axis will automatically set to this format after entering the format in format option.

Business graphic chart display

Hi,
I am facing the problem of the chart is automatically resize to the value plotted instead of the minumum and maximum value (automatic is turn off) as set in the value axis property section.
Eg. the min is 0 and max is 21. When the value plotted is 6, the chart only display up to 6 only. It is automatically resize to fit the whole area. I need the scale (grid) value to be fixed.

Procurement Type 'X' and Special Procurement Type

Hello all,
Need some advice over this topic.
Material with procurement type 'X' can either be procured externally or manufactured in-house. The problem is :
#1. If a special procurement type that corresponds to external procurement say for example '30' is set in Material master. I don't find an option to have this converted into a process/production order.
#2. Whereas If a special procurement type that corresponds to in-house production say for example '52' is set in the Material Master. I have almost every possible function's visible.
How do i get to the view process/production order for case 1 in the 'Additional Data for MRP Element' screen of MD04 ?

I know for sure the answer lies in there!
Here is what the F1 help says:
Use
You use special procurement when you want to be able to override the procurement type in the material master or define the procurement type more precisely.
If the procurement type is in-house, you can nevertheless force the system to ignore the BOM and routing, and process the material as if it were externally procured, by specifying the special procurement as external.
Now please check OMD9 configuration for the SP Keys that you are testing, it will be clear.

Use of type libraries and custom data types in TestStand 3.1

I want to call this function from TestStand 3.1 using the CVI Standard Adapter.
I created a function panel from the header file then I generated a DLL that contains the type library as an embedded resource. Using OLE/COM object viewer I can confirm that the definitions are correct. In TestStand however, all basic types are recognized but the structure is rejected as not being a TestStand type.
However, a C structure is supposed to be assimilated as a container in TestStand. Do I have to manually create a custom data type in TestStand to match my C structure or TestStand can automatically create the container based on the information in the type library (because this information is available it won't be difficult for TestStand to do this automatically)?

At the current time the only adapter that gives you the option to
automatically create a container for a given parameter is the LabVIEW
adapter. In your case you will need to manually create the container
that matches your C struct. I apologize for the inconvenience.

F:convertNumber with type="percent" and value of type double.

I got a problem: when trying to use f:convertNumber with type "percent" to convert number of type double I get wrong number. ex.:
Actual number is 5, but I get 500,00% instead of 5,00%
Is it a bug or I'm doing something wrong?

Xcelsius Drill Down With Column and Line Chart

Hi Guys,
I am working on an Xcelsius 2008 Dashboard. I would like to integrate two charts, a column and a line chart. The column chart is supposed to show the results for each quarter. With a selector it changes the view and name of the different numbers.
Then I would like to enable the drill down so that I can see the results for the three months of the corresponding quarter in the line chart. Is that somehow possible? I am totally lost. Thanks for your help.

You cannot integrate a column chart and line chart to make drill down possible. You could drill down a column chart to show the values in another chart bt that would be just two different charts and not an integrated one.
