Business Inkjet 2800 - "Insert A4 Paper" Despite A4 Paper being present

Hello, we've a 2800 that's refusing to print, insisting on A4 paper to be installed. Settings on the PC are set to A4, all the paper guides are set to A4 and the printing preferences on the printer itself are A4 also.
It's been working fine prior to this, but has started acting up today. What else can we check to try and troubleshoot this?
Many thanks.

  • HP Business Inkjet 2800 Printing Magenta Instead of Red

    Hi,
We've got an HP Business Inkjet 2800 in the office that is printing magenta instead of red. I'm printing from Windows XP. I've aligned the cartridges and cleaned the cartridges, and still haven't been able to solve the problem. Any suggestions?
    Thanks,
    Cory

    Hello mikesorr,
On the bottom of the ink cartridge is a small chip that the printer reads to help determine information about the ink. You may want to inspect that area to ensure it is clean and inspect inside the printer where the chip makes contact with the printer contacts to ensure there are no spillage or other debris which may cause the chip to not be read properly.

  • Business Inkjet 2800 and Server 2008 R2 Enterprise

We recently updated our servers and needed to re-add the printers.  All went well until we tried to find a driver for the 2800 that would work with our server.  Is there a driver being prepared for this setup or do we throw the printer away and buy something new?  Usually, HP is ahead of the curve, but we can't be the first ones trying to add this printer to this server.  An ideas or solutions?

  • Business Inkjet 2800 printing slow

I recently "upgraded" to a 64-bit Vista machine from XP and the 2800 prints extremely slow now. I've updated the drivers to 64-bit. I tried the PCL5 driver, but it wouldn't work right (printed partial images and would not center them). I am now using the PC driver. It prints fine, but takes forever. I ran the Diagnostic utility, but it doesn't see any printers at all and I have the 2800 and a Designjet 430 installed.
I've tried everything I can think of, but nothing seems to be working.

unplug the power cable from the wall socket/surge protector while the printer is turned on. then press the power button 3-4 times. now plug the power cable back into a wall socket ONLY, and try printing.

  • Business inkjet 2800

I took one of the print heads from the printer the other day and replaced it later. After that every time a print job is finished the printer goes to align print head mode and spit out a print head alignment sheet. I was wondering what causes this.
Any suggestions or help will be appreciated.
    Thanks,
    TJ

That is fixable When you put in a new printhead sometimes it does not do a complete alignment 2 pages. So Go to menu on printer  go to maintenance and do a alignment till you get both pages and you are ready to go.

  • Post external hard drive crash, imovie6 files no longer open despite all data being present

    my external hard drive crashed.
Thanks to ontrack, I recovered most if not all of the data, and this included the iMovies, I was told, but not one iMovie will open.
The data size is the same as when they were functional. Yet, when clicking on the icon for the movie, it opens and then I see a prompt that says, "A project file is missing..." If I ignore all, the movie never opens. I dont ignore all, the movie does not open.
    My questions:
    (1) can I fix these files myself? If so, how?
    (2) If this is too hard for a novice, is there a company who can look at priceless imovie files and fix themquestion
    (3) is this a lost cause?
I've lost upwards of 15 imovies (and the countless hours and love put into each). I'm willing to go to some lengths to fix them, including paying someone.
    Thoughts/advice/suggestions?
    Thanks.
    Damon

I'd like to amend my original post... This should be helpful to anyone out there...
    my external hard drive crashed.
I DID NOT have documents backed up properly.
    ....I KNOW....
    sigh...
Thanks to Ontrack, I recovered most if not all of the data, and this included the iMovies, I was told.  Yet, when trying to open each file, none will open.
    I've tried almost everything, including:
    (1) show package contents (and trying to drag and drop "TimelineMovie.mov from cache to new iMovie)(nothing happens when dropping it into the new iMovie--quicktime opens but then nothing)
    (2) show package contents (and clicking on the backup copy with ~ in the file name)(again, nothing happens)
What I know is the following:
    (1) The data size is the same as when they were functional.
    (2) Yet, when clicking on the icon for the movie, it opens and then I see a prompt that says, "A project file is missing..." If I click "ignore all", the movie never opens... i see it loading, loading, loading, and then it stops about 3/4 in.
    (3) If I dont "ignore all", the process is the same.
    (4) when I go into the media file, i see that all of the data is there
    (5) while my new external hard drive(S)...lol... have plenty of space, my current macbook pro is maxed out and I operate with just under 1gb of available memory
    My questions:
    (1) do I have any hope here?
    (2) If so, how do I fix these priceless files myself? I know, if priceless, why not backed up?  again, sigh...
    (3) If too hard for a novice, is there a company who can look at priceless imovie files and fixes them?
Again, I've lost MANY imovies (and the countless hours and love put into each). I'm willing to go to some lengths to fix them, including paying someone.
    Thoughts/advice/suggestions?
    Thanks.

  • HP 2800DTN Business InkJet Printer Error msg

When printing to a networked HP Business Inkjet 2800 printer, using paper from the bottom paper try, we receive a "Carriage jam" msg on the printer's display.
If we print using paper from the top tray, we have no problems, and the prints are fine.
I don't have any other 2800's at this site, so I can't experiement with paper trays. Any ideas on what to look at?
    Thank you in advance.

  • Slow printing from Mac to HP Business Inkjet 2800dtn

    Hi,
    We have an iMac running
    Mac OS X 10.5.8
    Indesign 5.0 CS4
    Acrobat Pro 9.0.0
HP Business Inkjet 2800 driver PS v3010.107, with 76Mb Memory
It's taking forever to print documents that are a few Mb in size.
The documents are created with Indesign.
I've tried outputting to pdf and it's still no better.
One pdf is 3.5Mb and just gets stuck at 5%. The printer shows "processing job" until it fails after 30 mins.
I've tried printing the pdf from a Windows XP pc using the HP postscript driver and it's the same. The spool file shows as being 18Mb on the PC.
Printing using Windows PCL driver, the speed is OK but the quality is poor. The only way to get these to print is by using the Windows to print to PS with the print to Image option selected.
I've looked at the Mac spool folder and it looks like 6Mb when it goes to print.
It prints OK to an A4 HP CP3505N colour laser.
I've got a call out with HP but they seem stumped at the moment.
    Any advice would be great.
    Many thanks

    Hi,
if you will follow my correction, that not the printing itself is slow but the time for transferring the data to the printer, so I can serve with a solution.
Look attached file or to the following (english) thread. There is a new modified driver for the 2800, supporting 2 tray, duplex and sizes to A3.
    http://www.mac-forums.com/forums/other-hardware-peripherals/119579-g5-very-slow-printing-h p-2800-a.html#post923300.
The german readme is included in the ZIP. The file should work on german and english systems.

  • 2nd Paper tray not showing on Business Inkjet 1100

I have recently purchased a computer with Windows 7 (64 bit)  and installed my Business Inkjet 1100 that has 2 paper trays.  I installed the printer using the driver for the Business Inkjet 1000 as recommended on your website.  Everything seems to be working ok but I do not have an optiion for the 2nd paper tray and it will not use any of the paper in the second tray.  How do I fix this?

I have the exact same problem. The only time it will use tray 2 is if tray 1 is out of paper but this is useless if i want to use tray 1 for photo paper and tray 2 for normal paper.
    Anyone?
    EDIT:
I tried the driver for the 1200dtn from Microsoft instead of the 1000dtn that HP suggested. Now everything works. Duplex, selecting tray, etc. Good times. :-D

  • A recent problem on 1100dtn business inkjet printer attached to network

I have an HP 1100dtn business inkjet  printer Ihat is attachded to my network. I had problems with the yellow inkjet got plugged and started messing the printed colors. I played with some settings and ended up getting wat appears to be a separator page before and after most everything I print. I went back to the spot I ran and ran it again hopping to have it toggle off. I checked on settings that say separater & they appear to say no to separtor page.  Nothing seems to work. I have even disconnected it from everything and rebooted it
Is there a setting I can get to that allows me to stop this wasted paper short of replacing the whole printer with a Lazerjet?
Thank you very much in advance for any suggestions.

  • Automatic duplex printing under 64 bit Windows7 using Business Inkjet 1100

Is there no driver/setting that allows automatic duplex printing for business inkjet 1100 under 64 bit Win7? I have found the work-arounds (manual duplex printing) but that is an entirely unsatisfactory solution...if the printer happens to grab two sheets of paper on the second pass for a long document, the whole thing is spoiled.

    Hi,
Enter Control Panel > Devices and Printers,
Right click the printer icon, then click Priinter Properties.
    Click Device Settings.
Mark the Two-Sided Duplex Accessory as Installed and the Automatic Duplex print option will appear.
