Business iPhone?

I am here to offer thanks to Apple for creating such an AWESOME! ( for lac of a better word ) business iPhone, I wasn't 100% sure if I could have my corporate email sent to the phone after all the lies about iPhone not being a business phone. After contacting my I.T. group at my company and getting the settings squared away.. I am here to say, yes! its an awesome business phone and works FLAWLESS!
Also: After the latest update ( 2.0), my emails come to my iPhone just as fast as my blackberry... The crackberry is gone & I am happy to say...
NOT 2 SHABBY APPLE, I AM VERY IMPRESSED.

If you use Outlook, there is a web access to your corporate email. Since iPhone has VPN, if you connect via VPN, then you should be able to access Outlook via web.
While it is not the same as the push mail service that BB or MS offers, and it does not sync your calendar automatically, at least you can get to your office email.
My sense is that there are ways, only if your IT department is willing to work with you, because it is not a "standard issue" smartphone. Plus most IT departments has big concerns with iTunes (not for security but appropriate use of corporate resources and assests).

  • How to get Photostream from 'business' iPhone to 'family' iCloud-account

Has anyone found a solution for this yet ?
There must be numerous pleople having this same problem :
I have a (in my opinon rather standard) setup in which I have a private iCloud-account on my 'business devices' (iPhone, iPad, MacBook Pro) and I have a shared iCloud-account on our 'family' Mac.
Now I would like to arrange things the way that's most logical to me :
I want my business devices to sync the more 'business-like' iCloud services :
    Mail
    Contacts
    Calendars
    (Bookmarks is less important)
    Documents & Data
    Back to My Mac
    Find My Mac
    iTunes Store
    Mac App Store
But I want my business devices to Photostream to our 'family' Mac's, since that's the device where our (only complete) iPhoto-library is on...
Now there seems to be no way to do so since :
    - iCloud automatically uses the same iCloud-account for Photostream, Documents & Data, Back to My Mac and Find My Mac (only for Mail, Contacts, Calendars, iTunes and Mac App Store it is optional to use a different iCloud-account)
    - setting up my business iCloud-account as the secondary iCloud-account on all my business devices would be completely un-logical and would not allow me to keep (especially) my Documents & Data 'business' ; they will be visible on our 'family' Mac, which is completely off bounds for my employer and my clients...
Has anyone found a solution to this ?
(or will this be solved in OSX 10.8 Mountain Lion maybe ?)
options I have thought about, but I couldn't get working yet :
    - running a second installation of iPhoto on our 'family' Mac
    - running both iPhoto and Aperture on our 'family' Mac
    - getting the Photostream from my 'business' iCloud.com into our 'family' Mac by subscribing to the URL
    - setting up one-and-the-same Eye-Fi account on my 'business' iPhone & iPad and on our 'family' Mac
    - searching for a 3rd-party Mac-app that can read and/or import the 'business' Photostream info our 'family' iPhoto
    - something involving Photoshop Elements 10 Organiser...
    Any help would be helpful.
    Thanks !

Thank you for your reply Winston.
very interesting info, too bad however that Dropbox doesn't do auto-import into iPhoto...
I might have figured out a way to do this using Eye-Fi (free account, free iOS-app & free Mac-app ; by SanDisk) :
Eye-Fi seems to do auto-upload from iPhone/iPad, auto-transfer to a Mac (over WiFi, and if needed even over 3G it seems), and auto-import into iPhoto...
...it can even handle video upload (which iCloud Photostream can't)
and it has 'free temporary online viewing' with Eye-Fi View (which is kind-of like MobileMe Gallery...)
(and some payed extensions that are less interesting in my opinion)
...I'm testing right now if Eye-Fi works for me.
(Maybe I still need to combine it with Dropbox's auto-upload though...)
    Thanks !
Note : Eye-Fi even has an option to upload to MobileMe... too bad MobileMe is no longer available... hopefully there will be integration with iCloud in the near future...

  • Same apple id on home iphone and business iphone

My work is making me get a second phone. I will be getting an iphone, but want to somehow consolidate the mess. I will have two phone numbers, but one apple id (same person, so same contacts, etc). By using the same apple id am i able to consolidate imessage onto one phone? I know i can forward calls from one phone to the other, but I am confused as to the implications for imessage.

    You're welcome.
There is a preference setting with iMessage on each iPhone or iOS device used with the same Apple ID which phone numbers and email addressees registered with iMessage can be recieved on each device along with a send new iMessage from selection on each device.
I have my business cell phone number selected to send from with iMessage on my business iPhone and my personal cell phone number selected to send from on my personal iPhone with the ability to receive iMessages with phone numbers available with iMessage on each so iMessages with both numbers are kept synced on each iPhone.
If you do the same and someone sends an iMessage to your personal cell phone number when using your business iPhone, you will receive it and when replying to that received message it will appear as sent from your personal iPhone and vice versa. When starting a new message not with an existing conversation on your business iPhone, it will appear as being sent from your business number and vice versa.

  • Is there a way to not allow an employee to send texts on the business iPhone using their personal iCloud account?

I work for a company that issues business iPhones to our sales representatives so that they can easily communicate with our customers in their territories and have access to many helpful resources.
One of our sales reps recently went on to work for a different company (our competition). When we were getting his company phone ready for the next representative that would take over his territory, we discovered that he had been using his iCloud account to text customers for the past 2-3 months instead of the phones number. Unfortunately this means he still has access to all of our customers via his personal iCloud account, and they are probably still texting him for their product needs.
We aren't sure if this was intentional or not, but is there anything we can do to keep things like this from happening in the future? A way to keep the sales rep from using their personal iCloud address to send and receive texts on the company phones?
    Thanks!

Settings App > Messages > Start New Conversations From [set to your phone number].

  • How do I unlock one of my business iPhones which was given back to me without wiping its contents

How do I unlock one of my business iPhones which was given back to me without wiping its contents.

You either contact the previous user for their icloud credentials or contact Apple and provide proof of ownership.

  • How do I keep my iTunes music when i give up my business iPhone when leaving employer

I originally setup a i Cloud I.D. account when i received a new iPhone from my employer.  I personally purchased music from iTunes and have it also available through iTunes for Windows on my home PC.
I will be leaving my job and returning the business iPhone back to my employer.  The phone will be redistributed to a new salesperson to setup for his purposes.
    My questions are:
"Will my existing i Cloud and iTunes be terminated or deleted when it is set up by the new employee assigned the phone?"
"How can I continue to enjoy my purchased music without  an apple device?"
"What happens to my current i Cloud I.D. when I give up the iPhone?
"My current i Cloud I.D. has my personal CC on file for Apps and iTunes, how do i delete this account and create a new I.D. to store my i Tunes?"

    Brian,
Turning in the phone does not necessarily mean giving them control of the account.  If you can do so, keep the iTunes account, and as soon as you can, change the password.
Whether you do or don't keep the account, make sure that you have a copy of the music song files on your own personal computer.  It is normal AAC audio that can be played on a range of devices. I repeat:  make sure you have a copy of the song files in your possession!!!!

  • Business iPhone / Personal iPhone Coexistance

I have been an iPhone user for about five years.  Most of my life and information is organized on my iPhone.  It seems best to keep personal and business separate, but the best practices for time and life management, e.g. Franklin-Covey, say to have one location and one system for organizing.  What are your thoughts / experiences in determining the best tradeoffs?  Business calendar and personal calendar?  Apple ID(s)?  Contacts?  Etc?

I have one phone. You can sync contacts and calendars with multiple sources and have multiple email accounts set up on it. I sync personal contacts and calendars with iCloud and my business contacts and calendar with the corporate Exchange server. When I'm on vacation, I simply turn off the Exchange email so it doesn't intrude on my time.
I also use Google Voice for business related calls and give out my Google voice number to people at work who need a cell phone # for me. As an added benefit, GV can be configured to display the GV phone # in caller ID instead of the incoming number so I immediately know if it's work related or personal, and it lets me set time limits on when GV calls will be forwarded to my phone. I don't take business calls after hours or weekends unless I'm on call. The free GV app makes it easy to make outgoing calls that display my GV phone number instead of letting call recipients get my actual cell phone number that way.
It's the best of both worlds for me. All the information is visible in one place for me, but still technically separate and easy to manage when I only want a subset of it.

  • Does anyone know of an ap that will auto call forward all voice calls from my iphone4 to a different number (office) at set times each day? IE - i want my business iphone to automatically call forward at 0830am weekdays and cancel the call forward at 6pm

I am trying to find an app that will automatically forward all voice calls at preset times each day
    IE - at 083am weekdays
and automatically cancel the call forward at 6pm weekdays
At the moment i am doing it manually with alarms set to remind me
Seems a pretty basic "want" but - i cant find anything
And APPLE - make it easier to find APPS in the APP store - wy not have a search feature that you can type in what you are looking for??
    Thanks!!

There are no apps to do what you want, that's why you can't find any. No app would have access to the necessary API's to do this, thus only Apple could implement such. You can suggest such to Apple here:
    http://www.apple.com/feedback/iphone.html
Another suggestion is to look at Google Voice. I don't know if it offers these specific features or not, but it is highly customizable.

  • Business iPhone 5 order

Company said they ordered by iPhone 5 on 12/28/12 and should expect it by 1/2/13.  On 1/2/13 my IT person said the Verizon Rep told her my order was placed on back order.  Anyone know what is going on?  On the website chat, they said there was plenty iPhones in stock.  Anyone with any insight would be appreciated.
    Thanks!

@mattyb1978 - Did you receive your confirmation/tracking number also? Hopefully you received it! Let us know.

  • IOS Business - Find my iPhone - Personal/Work Apple ID - What to do...

    Hey Apple Discussions,
I work for a big enterprise company here in Canada, and have a couple technical questions.  Going forth and giving some back end about myself, I was previously a Genius, and am now a Mac/iOS Support Specialist.
We have various end users here who are currently using business iPhones. those user's would use their Apple ID with iCloud and setup Backup/Photo stream etc.. the works and Find My iPhone.
We all know that iOS 7 brought a new feature to iPhone to prevent theft and lockout (Great Job Apple!!), my question is not how to bypass the password screen when restoring a phone, as if you have the original receipt and proof of purchase and provide that to Apple they can help reset the device without needing the Apple ID (for Business companies only)
But when someone get's terminated/fired/quits the job and their Apple ID is tied to the first/main iCloud account, we cannot always get access to their personal iCloud password, as communication is lost with them, which leaves us with a "temp bricked" phone until we go through the channels, to have it properly reset.  This leads to us communicating with HR, and retrieving the POP(Proof of Purchase for that unique device) and going through the channels to have it unlocked.
So with new iPhones we have been  distributing with our end users we have been implementing our own Business Apple ID for iCloud, to enable Find my iPhone to prevent this LOCK out process from happening in the future down the road.  Needless to say, this no longer allows the end user to use ALL functionality of their  personal iCloud account, as when you add a secondary iCloud account you only get basic features, safari, bookmarks, calendars, notes, email and not photo stream, keychain, data, iCloud backup Find my iPhone...
We have looked at the Apple Configurator and they don't offer a solution with that mass distribution iOS Software....
This means the end user cannot restore from an iCloud backup, they cannot use Photo stream (however Box.net, dropbox, mega all have valuable usable Photo storage services).
We get the device belongs to "The Company" but now a days people tend to keep one phone on them ,taking pictures, and we all know how much people MANUALLY backup their own data on iTunes.
Any other solutions would be great where we can keep control of the find my iPhone section, so when we restore a terminated phone it is tied to our Business Apple ID,  making it a simple restore, but the end user can still use their personal for all other features as mentioned above, other than the basic  (mail, contacts, calendar, bookmarks, notes) and can backup their phone app data, and photos they have taken.
    Thanks

We struggle with the same Problem in our company. Another case we would like to have each device configured with our company AppleID is when an employee told us he has lost his iPhone. We have no possibility to use the "Find iPhone" feature even the device belongs to us, because the employee use the iPhone with his own privat AppleID. So we just have to trust and believe the phone is lost, even we have doubts.
We are thinking about to Switch to Android because they have more Enterprise friendly device Management applications even I personally prefer iOS.

  • Two iPhones, Two computers, one for home, one for business.. Best iCloud setup?

Hey, I am about to upgrade to iPhone 5; meaning I can dump my office Blackberry and use my iPhone 4 for work instead; so my setups will be:
    Home: iMac, iPhone 5, iPad
    Business: Windows laptop, iPhone 4
So my iPhone 5 for home docks with the iMac; the iPhone 4 docks with the Windows laptop; and both are run as independently as possible, with very different apps.
Initially I planned to get a new Apple ID for my Business iPhone, so that I could have bookmarks synced between my Windows laptop and iPhone 4.
However, I realised that - as I use my existing iCloud account for my calendar - I would not have any Home calendar events in my iPhone 4, so for example, wouldn't be able to book appointments for business whilst being sure I didn't have holidays from my Home calendar stored there.
So now I'm thinking of using the same, existing iCloud account on both phones. I will have to lose bookmark syncing on the work phone, but at least I'll have both calendars on it as well.
What do you guys think is best? Any other ideas?

Don't see why not, I've got two iTunes accounts with the same credit card.

  • How do i change the icloud account on my iphone to a different existing account

I have a business iPhone 5S on which the iTunes account is associated with the Apple ID I signed up for using my business e-mail. I signed in to iCloud with a personal Apple ID account to get some of my personal music onto the device. I have been trying to find out how to change the iCloud account to my business Apple ID. I'd like to be able to switch back and forth if I want. I have read several posts that advise deleting the iCloud account, but I still have personal devices I would like to continue to use with this Apple ID and iCloud account. The extent of the deletion is not addressed.
If I use the delete account under iCloud, does that delete it from the device, or does it delete it permanently? Tried adding my business email to the iCloud account, but it won't let me because it is associated with another Apple ID (duh). Am I stuck here?
    iPhone 5S, iOS 8.1 - just updated.
The only option under iCloud is "Sign Out"

Deleting an iCloud account only deletes it from the Device, not from iCloud.  In iOS 8, the name of this setting changed to "Sign Out" as that is a better reflection of what actually happens.  Your iCloud data remains on the server, available to devices still signed into the account, but the device you sign out of the account on is disconnected from the account, and as a result, the iCloud data from that account is removed from the device.  It will redownload to the device should you sign back into the account.
The only issue you'll run into when you switch between accounts is with my photo stream photos older than 30 days.  When you delete (or sign out of) and account, your photo stream photos are deleted along with the other data from the account in question.  However, unlike other data which remains on the server and can redownload to your device when you sign back in, my photo stream photos only remain in iCloud for 30 days.  When you sign back in, you will only get back my photo stream photos added in the last 30 days (as older photos are no longer in iCloud to redownload).  Like other account data, any my photo stream photos on your other devices signed into the account are unaffected by this.  If you want to keep older my photo stream photos on your device as you change iCloud accounts, save them to your camera roll before deleting (signing out of) the account.

  • How can I access documents from multiple iCloud accounts on my iPhone?

I have a business and a personal life that are both heavily influenced by my Apple products and all stay in sync via iCloud. My only issue is that in order to access both personal and business iwork documents on the go, I have to carry two iphones with me - which really is inconvenient. Of course I could just use the business iphone but then I would not be able to access my family photo stream which is very important to me.
Any help would be appreciated. I would think that there would be a simple solution to my issue but I need your help finding it.
    Thank you!

There has to be a better solution than deleting and switching icloud accounts on my iphone each time I need to look at my work documents...

  • My husband has an iPhone.  I have iPad.  Can we have separate iTunes accounts on a PC?

My husband has iPhone and an iTunes account.  I have iPad and also though I set up a separate iTunes account; however, my account never shows on our PC.  Is it possible to have 2 separate iTunes accounts on one PC?  Should we share an account?  Thanks

Every iPod, iPhone, or iOS device synced with the same iTunes library on one computer has its own sync preferences with iTunes. I sync a business iPhone 5, a personal iPhone 5S, and a personal iPad with iTunes on the same computer and each device has different apps and music.
