  • Retrieve multiple records of  Business Object in a Application Service?

    Hi,
    I am working on CE71.
I want to know how to retrieve multiple records of a Business Object in a Application Service?
    Regards,
    Rahul

    Hi,
This can be achieved by adding find method on one or multiple attributes of the business object.
Suppose There is a customer business object with attributes (name, id , city, country ). Now you can add findByCity operation that will return all the Customer Objects which have the City = as entered by user.
Now this find operation can then be called by your application service and this list can then be returned as output of the application service.
    Hope this helps,
    Ashutosh

  • Connect Business Objects to SAS Data Set?

Has anyone ever been able to use a SAS data set as a data source for Business Objects?

I've connected to a SAS datastore in Business Objects Data Services, and it's straightforward.
What you need is to set SAS up as an ODBC server.
This can be done in 2 ways:
    - Using the SAS/SHARE product on any server that is accessible from BOBJ. This is quite pricey, so maybe you should only consider this if you have a SAS/SHARE license already, or your project can pay for it.
    - Using an ordinary running SAS session on the same server.
You also need to install an ODBC driver on your BOBJ server, in order to access your SAS ODBC server.
You can read about SAS ODBC on SAS Institutes website. Start here:

  • Business Objects Reports and Web Services for Dashboards

    Hello!
I am writing a Business Object report against my Universe.  I save the report to the CMS and then right click on the report block and click "Publish as a Web Service...".  This opens up that diaglog and I am able to publish the web service.  I then can import the web service into Dashboards 4.1 (Xcelsius) and am working working to figure it out further at this point.
My question is this:  When I go back to the report in Business Objects, and modify the report, I would like to republish the web service.  I click on Design and rework the report.  Run the report.  Save the report.  I right click on the report block and I don't see the "Publish as a Web Service..." choice.
    What am I doing wrong?
    Business Objects 4.1...
    Thank you.

    Hi Susan,
Go to the web service publisher, expand the web service, select the block and select edit.
Select the content and prompt and select Update.

    Hy there,
You are converting a DeskI (.rep) to a WebI (.wid) and the list you mention are features that are not supported in WebI except the last 2 which are probably deployment errors.  I assume you ran the document through the conversion tool.  If you want to keep your DeskI docs in your new environment, you need to use the Import wizard.

  • Mapping Objects in Flex Data Services

    Hi My Dear Friends
This is yogans, i am working in flex for the last 15 days
and i learned the basic things like syntax, tags, scripts. and i am
    doing
some data services work now. especially with the help of
Java Remote objects. I dont know http services and
    webservices(WSDL).
My doubt here is, I created a user defined object in java
and i want to send this object through Remote call from flex. how
    can i
type cast the java object to flex. And i want to add these
objects to the dataprovider of a datagrid. Please help me in
    acheiving
this. i will be very thank ful to you in my life. I know
that i have to create same kind of object in flex. But i dont have
    concrete idea
please explain me with very simple example step by step . I
am awaiting in hope that God will send some one to help me.
    Thanks and Regards

    Hi,
If you want to map your actionscript class to your server's
Java class. You can run a util function
    registerClassAlias("dev.echoservice.Book",Book);
where "dev.echoservice.Book" is the fully qualify name of
your java class. Book is your actionscript class.
Calling this util before you make your remoteobject call. You
can put this in your actionscript class constructor, it makes this
call whenever you create your class. However, it seems to be better
to call it when the class is loaded. To do so you can declare it as
    static
    public static var a:* =
    registerClassAlias("dev.echoservice.Book",Book);
    OR
You can also declare it as metaData in your class as:
    [RemoteClass(alias="dev.echoservice.Book")]
However, I found someone saying that it didn't work in sdk
compilation, but webtier compilation. It might be some
configuration issue. I haven't tried it yet.
To display the properties in the dataGrid, you just have to
either use Array or ArrayCollection. If databinding is involved,
the datagrid need to know the Collection.Change event. It is better
to use ArrayCollection, therefore, adding new item to
    arrayCollection the datagrid get repopulate.
    hope it helps!

  • Data Service error

    Hi,
On testing data service from the storyboard, it works fines but on runtime, it displays the following two errors:
-Error occurred during Data Service, MA_SRV Execution
-Error occurred during Data Service, AJ_SRV Execution
Any idea on as to what is going wrong....
    Best regards,
    Dharmi

Data Service is not expecting empty values for optional fields at runtime, resulting in error (not the case with 7.0)

  • Data Services - Error Consuming Web Service from SAP CE

    Hello all,
I developed a very quick sample real-time job in Data Services just to test the web services and connectivity between BoBJ DS and SAP CE.  The real-time job doesn't do anything fancy, just converts characters from lower case to upper case.  In SAP CE I am attempting to use the web service navigator to test the WSDL (http://localhost:28080/DataServices/servlet/webservices?ver=2.0&wsdlxml).  SAP CE correctly connects to the WSDL and gives me a selection list where I can drill down to Real-Time Services -> my real time job.  I put in some test data and execute the web service and I get the following error:
Invalid transport binding settingsDocument is not well-formed: Expected End-tag 'MAIN', received:a, on position: 0 (:main:, row:1, col:0)
The strange thing is that the HTTP response message shows that the service actually executed, because the data has been converted to upper case as it was supposed to.  Also, if I go into the Data Services Management Console it shows the service was executed with no errors.  The strange thing is that I notice something wrong when I look at the response message vs. the source message:

If you notice in the target message the closing <MAIN> tag is preceded by "aw".  I'm not sure what this means, and I'm not sure where it's coming from, but I think it could have something to do with the error because it doesn't match the opening tag.
I'm not sure if this is something that is set in Data Services?  I've checked around quite a bit but I am stumped!  Can anyone help?

what is the version of dataServices you are using ? there was a bug that was fixed related to this issue, if you are on 12.1 (DS XI 3.1) then use the latest 12.1 Fix Pack 12.1.1.7
if you are on 12.2 (DS XI 3.2) then use the latest SP and FP 12.2.2.1

  • Actionscript Data Service Errors

    Hi,
I am trying to accomplish a task to allow users modify and
view the data from DataGrid service, but the problem I have right
now is that it is based on the selections the users have made using
check boxes, which this portion is written in Actionscript.
I stored the selection into a string, and try to use
HTTPService to "POST" the data, and it did not return me anything
from my DataGrid. Could someone please help me with the syntax of
how to allow my two defined string variables be posted to the
    service correctly?
    Thanks in advance.
    Alice

Don't build the request object declaratively. Instead do:
    var oRequest:Object = new Object();
    oRequest.message = message2;
    scenario_create.send(oRequest);
Also, it is very dangerouys to use "lastResult" anywhere but
in a binding expression, since the framework can overwrite it at
    any time.
Instead, use a result handler and put your result data into a
variable and bind to and use that where needed.
Finally, on HTTPService set resultFormat="e4x". otherwise
Flex converts your xml into a nexted dynamic object structure. Thsi
is almost never a good thing.

  • Problems with a Business Object when using data RAW.

    Hi,
I've created a Z bapi with parameter tables as
        FILE_BIN like SDOKCNTBIN
The structure SDOKCNTBIN has one RAW field.
When I go to SWO1 and implement a new Bapi, the following error occurs:
"Field SDOKCNTBIN -LINE is too large to be included in container"
Does anyone knows why when I declare an structure with a field RAW, gives that error?
    Thanks in advance!

Does this occur when using Immediate Mode?
Here's a blurb from my ADF Toy Store paper about Batch Mode and immediate mode.

  • Data Services Error (GAC) after update from 12.1.0 to 12.1.1

    Hi,
I have updated my DS installation:
    1. export prject to ATL file,
    2 unsinstalled 12.1.0,
    3. installed 12.1.1
    4. imported ATL file
All Jobs that include GAC transforms work well, but when I try to create new Jobs that use the
GAC transform I'm getting the following errors:
    Transform <Global_AddressCleanse>:Option Error(Option: GLOBAL_ADDRESS/COUNTRY_OPTIONS/COUNTRY/OPTIONS/DISABLE_CERTIFICATION):
At least 1 DISABLE_CERTIFICATION option(s) must be present in this group..
Transform <Global_AddressCleanse>:Option Error(Option: GLOBAL_ADDRESS/REPORT_OPTIONS): At least 1 REPORT_OPTIONS option(s) must be present in this group..
These Options are not visible in the GAC options dialog.
Is there a workaround, e.g. can I tweak the ATL export of the Job)
    Thanks for your reply!
    Regards,
      Martin

Thanks for the hint, Niels, to thread
Address Cleanse Error in DS 3.1 and not in DS 3.0
Ryans workaround (importing gac.atl to overwrite th GAC transform) solved the problem.
