Business Objects 6.5 Duplex printing issues

I have a report with sections by location(i.e. SL, CH, etc.).  My issue is that I need for the new section to print on its own page.  I keep getting CH printing on the back page of SL.  Please assist.  Is there ayone else that has came across this problem.

No, it is not.
If you search this forums you will find a lot of posts about Win 7 compatibility.

Solution may be found if you search in the "More Like This" section over in the right column and by contacting Xerox tech support.

  • Duplex printing issues with landscape orientation

I have read through all of the previous questions, and can't seem to resolve my problem here.
I am using Acrobat 8 Professional (8.2.2).  I have created a PDF from a Powerpoint presentation.  I need to be able to send this to someone else and have them view it on screen with the correct orientation, and also duplex print it correctly, as all of our company printers default to duplex printing (to save paper).  However, since the person who prints it is going to staple it in the upper left hand corner, it really needs to be duplexed to open along the left edge (the short edge of the paper).
When I first bring up the print screen the document has the incorrect orientation; i.e. it shows a thumbnail of an 8.5 x 11" page in portrait orientation, and my content is reduced in size to fit the 8.5 width.  I think this is really the issue at hand--for some reason, even though the page is set up in Powerpoint as a 8.5x11 landscape oriented document, when it exports to the PDF format, that orientation doesn't hold.
Anyway, it seems that no matter what settings I try to adjust, it doesn't seem to work.  I have toggled "Auto-Rotate and Center," I have toggled the duplex settings in the PDF document properties.  I have toggled the duplex print settings on my printer driver between "Open to Left" and "Open to Top."  None of it seems to make any difference in the final printout--basically what comes out of my printer is a document that is rotated to print out as if it was a portrait page, and is bound on the left edge (so each second page is printed upside down, when I am looking at it in landscape orientation).
The only work-arounds I can think of would be to rotate every other page in the PDF so that when it printed it printed correctly.  However, then the PDF would not be readable on the screen.  I could generate two separate versions of the PDF, one marked for print, and the other for viewing--but that is a real waste.
Does anyone have any suggestions here?  I am looking for a way either to get the PDF software to "understand" that this document is a landscape document from the get-go (then it SHOULD work to duplex print correctly with the "Open to Left" setting), or maybe create a custom print setting for this document that allows me to rotate every other page as it is printed, but that doesn't rotate the pages on the screen.
I hope this is all clear...and that someone can offer some advice.
    Thanks!
    Melise
P.S.  Just in case it makes any difference, I am running Windows XP Professional and am using the Microsoft Office 2007 software package.  Because the company has multiple different printers throughout the company, I need a solution that will work without regards to the specific printer driver.

I am having the exact same issue.  The setting of "Auto-Rotate and Center" has no affect.
Do I have to rotate the odd pages 180 so they are upside down in the PDF, but print correctly?
I am using Acrobat 9 Pro V. 9.3.3 in Win 7 Pro 64, to HP CP6015XH (colour laser).

  • Duplex printing issues

Hi all, run into a problem with duplex printing in oracle reports lately where data for seperate groups is ending up on the previous or next group's page. This is using 10g and a xerox high speed printer.
Basically if I have a report with groups a, b, and c. The output should be:
    1st page - A1/A2
    2nd page - A3/Blank
    3rd page - B1/B2
    4th page - C1/C2
    5th page - C3/C4
Instead what we are getting is:
    1st page - A1/A2
    2nd page - A3/B1
    3rd page - B2/C1
    4th page - C2/C3
    5th page - C4/BLANK
Is there any way to set a break or blank page between groups in oracle from the same query to seperate them for duplex printing? I've looked and a solution seems to be to add an empty boilerplate object in the header/body that checks the mod of the page number, and if odd, prints or displays to get a blank page, otherwise if even does nothing. Is there a better or "cleaner" solution to this?

So I've actually tried to do this and it doesn't seem to work. From Oracles FAQ's:
"I am printing statements on a double-sided stationary capable printer. To ensure that each new statement starts on a new physical piece of paper, I need to add a blank page if the previous statement had an odd number of page sides. How can I do this?
Place an invisible boilerplate line before the repeating frame that contains your data. Give it a Page Break before and anchor it to the repeating frame. Then write a format trigger that only prints the boilerplate object (and thus the page break) if it is an odd page number. "
I've tried adding a line, with page break before on, and anchoring it to my repeating frame with the following:
    physicalpage number;
    begin
         srw.get_page_num(physicalpage);
      IF MOD(physicalpage,2) = 0 THEN
              return(FALSE);
         ELSE
           return(TRUE);
         END IF;
end;, it either does nothing or gives an error saying horizontal line does not fit withing repeating group x.
Does anyone know how to properly seperate repeating groups from an oracle report when using duplex, or double sided printing?

  • Business Objects Explorer(polestar) Bookmark tool Issue.

    Hi All,
We have installed business objects explorer recently. We are currently running on BOE 3.1. We have published an explorer view to our users and we have an issue with it. The users add or change analytics to the view and try to bookmark them. But the bookmarks always takes them to the base page.
Wanted to know whether this is a known issue or a service pack or a fix pack issue. Also is there a workaround for this problem.
    Thanks,

    Hello Karthik,
You may want to try the  Business Objects Administration forum.

  • A (different) duplex printing issue?

I am having an OS X print issue that seems unique to Acrobat, and I would appreciate some advice.
I have a Canon c2880 printer that has a duplexing unit. When Im in other OS X applications (e.g. MS Word), I can print duplex just fine, but in Acrobat 8 the Print Style choice to print 2-sided (under Finishing) is grayed out.
In the same Acrobat dialog, when I click on Finishing->Printer Info, it returns Duplixing Unit Available. So, why would it be grayed out?
As I said, I can print 2-sided from Word from the same MacBook Pro, so that makes me doubt its the Canon printer driver. I currently have to copy my PDF over to a PC running XP and print it in duplex to the same Canon printer.
Has anyone else seen or resolved anything similar? Any ideas? Thanks!

Its a attglobal.net account. and as far as I know there are no funny account requirements or settings like some of the bellsouth and att.net discussions have had.

  • Adobe Reader X duplex printing issue

Each time I try to print a pdf, the application changes the default duplex from no duplex (single sided set in the properties of the printer in windows control panel ) to duplex(print on both sides).  I can uncheck the box to have it not print the duplex.
This is frustrating because each time I open a new pdf I have to do this?
    Adobe reader X
    Printer is a Kyocera 1128
    Any one got any ideas?

I was having the same problem, and I found the answer on another site. To fix it, you need to edit/create a registry key:
Open Regedit, and surf to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Adobe\Acrobat Reader\10.0\AVGeneral
Look for a DWORD named "iDuplexMode". If it's there, change the value to 1
If it's not there, create it - Add a new DWORD, name it "iDuplexMode" (no quotes) and enter the value 1
Close Regedit, and restart Reader if you had it running.
Now the printing dialog will default to having duplex turned off.
The only problem with this is it will only work for the current user...For multi-account machines, you'll have to do this for every user, or create a .reg file for them to import.

  • Wireless officejet 6500 duplex printing issue

duplex printing works fine until i have a document that is 6, 8, 10 pages long.  that's when duplex printing would be the most efficient.  but after 2-4 pages, it stops, the printer displays a "print cancelled" message & i have to start over where it left off.  then i can get another 2-4 pages.
i recently did my win7 upgrade (from vista) but that has not helped any.
what makes it stop in the middle??

I have just bought an OfficeJet 6500 and am also having major problems if I try to use automatic duplex printing. The first side prints ok then waits a while to dry but when it tries to print the second side the printer jams every time. When I remove the duplexing unit the paper is always concertina'ed between the unit and the rollers inside the printer. If anyone can point me in the right direction I'd be really grateful! This is one of the features I was hoping to make use of.

  • Phaser 7300Dn duplex printing issue

I can print duplex from my imac but not my MacBook Pro on a phaser 7300DN. I can print from the MacBook Pro to the phaser I just cannot select two sided printing as it is greyed out. I have reloaded the current drivers from Xerox and still get the same issue. Can anyone help?

I'd like you to make sure that you are using CR version 12.2.3.456. To get to this version, you need to apply SP 2:
    https://smpdl.sap-ag.de/~sapidp/012002523100009038092009E/cr2008win_sp2.exe
    and then FP2.3:

Let me know if that helps.

  • Duplex print issues

How can I get my Mac to print duplex pdfs?

    Hello all
The problem is still actual. There are some ideas on this forum about solution for LiveCycle Desginer 6.x and 7.x via JavaScript and via settings (Form Properties->PDF print options). The both don't work in LiveCycle Designer 8.2. Is it a bug of 8.2 version?
I have noticed that property <pagination> in XML source has always value duplexLongEdge. It doesn't depend on value you entered in Form Properties->PDF print options. May be it's a reason? However I cannot change this value to duplexShortEdge.

  • Business Objects Edge 3.1 Installation Issue

    Hello,
When installaling BO Edge 3.1, the setup up process is not asking me if
    1) If I want to install My SQL database along with BO Edge.
instead it is assuming that I have a database already installed while the fact is that I dont have any database installed. Previously I used to have SQL server 2008 but then again I completely uninstalled it, rebooted my system several times. But the setp up process still assumes that I have some database installaled.
Even when I try to use the 'advanced installation' option it still does not allow me to choose the option for- ' Install My SQL'. Instead the only option checked at this point is the 'Use existing database' option which I I have to select( No other way).
Can you please advice what went wrong during my installation? Do I need to delete any other Sql server directories logs that have a trace in my system? Please help me out to install the BO Edge software.
By the way, I am using 64 Bit Windows 7 software.
    Thanks!
    Adi

  • CS5.5 InDesign: Last 2 pages of multipage duplex print come out 1-sided

Using CS5.5 InDesign, last 2 pages of a multipage duplex print come out 1-sided. Same page ranges print OK in PDF. Printer is HP Color Laserjet 4700 with latest device firmware. Have latest HP drivers on Mac OS 10.7.
This is a recent problem. Had no problems with CS5 InDesign duplex printing from this computer to this printer until a couple weeks ago. First sign of an issue was that printing slowed to a crawl. Literally 5 minutes to resolve one page to the printer. Updated the printer firmware and speedy printing returned, but then noticed the duplex printing issue. Problems began about the same time as a Mac OS system update, but I'm not sure which came first, the software update or the printing issues. No problems with the printer from other software or other computers on the network.
I have read that certrain InDesign print settings sometimes produce unexpected results in some computer environments. Am hoping this is the case, and someone on this forum will know the trick.

I think for most users, "the trick" that produces the most consistently predictable result is to never print directly from InDesign; always go to PDF and print that. Personally, I haven't even attempted to print from InDesign since CS2.

  • Duplex printing on Canon MG6150

    Hey everyone,
I recently bought a Canon Pixma MG6150 printer which comes with automatic duplex printing. I'm running Snow Leopard 10.6.8.
I want to use it in InDesign to create a booklet however, whenever I go into Print Settings>Printer>Duplex Printing & Margin everything is greyed out.
I've tried all the drivers I can find on the Canon website and the CD that came with the printer. I've heard about using older drivers, does this mean to download older OS drivers (I tried 10.5 and my Mac said it was not possible to install) or older drivers from Canon?
    Any ideas? Thanks!

I fixed the problem, however I've seen a lot of questions about the Canon duplex printing issues with some Mac users so I thought I'd put my solution up to help anyone else.
Going through the On-Screen Manual that comes with the CD I found out that:
When a media type other than Plain Paper, Hagaki A or Hagaki is selected from Media Type menu of Quality & Media, Automatic Duplex Printing appears grayed out and is unavailable.
When Borderless Printing is set, Automatic Duplex Printing appears grayed out and is unavailable.
Automatic Duplex Printing can be performed only when one of the following paper sizes is selected from Paper Size.US Letter, A5, A4, B5 JIS (JB5), Hagaki
After printing the front page, there is an ink drying wait time before starting to print the back page (Operation stops temporarily). Do not touch the paper during the time. You can change the ink drying wait time from Custom Settings in the Canon IJ Printer Utility.
After going through the printing settings and following these regulations, Duplex Printing was no longer grey!

  • Has anyone found a solution for duplex printing from OS 10.8 to Xerox Phaser 8560?

Is anyone else having duplex printing issues from OS 10.8 to Xerox Phaser 8560?

The next time you have the problem, note the exact time: hour, minute, second.
If you have more than one user account, these instructions must be carried out as an administrator.
Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Console in the icon grid.
Make sure the title of the Console window is All Messages. If it isn't, select All Messages from the SYSTEM LOG QUERIES menu on the left. If you don't see that menu, select
    View ▹ Show Log List
    from the menu bar.
Scroll back in the log to the time you noted above. Select any messages timestamped from then until the end of the episode. Copy them to the Clipboard (command-C). Paste into a reply to this message (command-V).
When posting a log extract, be selective. In most cases, a few dozen lines are more than enough.
Please do not indiscriminately dump thousands of lines from the log into this discussion.
Important: Some private information, such as your name, may appear in the log. Anonymize before posting.
