Business objects data services

Hi,
We are doing some feaibility study to implement the reports distribution by splitting the file according to vendors and sending the mail accordingly.  As part of this i would like to know can we split the file as mentioned above and send email to the vendors using To and CC in the mail with the attachment of either .TXT file or XLS file using the Business objects data services.
Thank you
Best regards,
MANREDDY

  • Extract account Based COPA from R/3 using Business Object data services

    Hello,
We have a requirement to extract Account Based COPA from SAP R/3 to Teradata using Business Objects data services.
I have read couple of white papers which give information on Rapid Marts( which are built in packages) already available for some applications like inventory, GL, AP, AR etc. But I could not find anything for COPA.
Would anyone give me any information on how to use BO data services for COPA?
Also if there is no rapid mart available for COPA, does anyone know how to create custom data marts in BO Data services?
Is there any document available on this?
Please respond as soon as possible.
    Thanks.

    Hi,
this forum is for the SAP Integration Kit. Would suggest you post your question into the EIM area for Data Services.

  • Question of Business Object Data Service

    hi Expert,
Now we are doing project for CRM integration to BODS (Business object Data Service).
There is business request for deduplicate check whole CRM Business partner data base.
The data quantity is 10Million and most of them are consumer role, we prefer to clean up the BP data via BODS and in CRM we use standard account merge functionality.
but I not sure whether BODS support deduplicate check for 10M consumer and how to do it?
Is there any one had experience or idea for this request?
    Br.
    William.

Sure DS can do that, no doubt about it. But before starting, I recommend you to carefully read the Match Consolidate Transform wiki page. Pay special attention to the setting of the BREAK_KEY that will have a significant impact on the performance and throughput of the matching process.

  • Business Object Data Services (BODI) without SAP MDM?

    Hi,
From an architectural point of view; do you always have to use SAP MDM when you want to use the  Business Object Data Services (e.g. for data validity checks when creating customers)?
Or can you use  Business Object Data Services in combination with SAP ECC without MDM?
    Best regards,
    Marius

All Depends on your business needs.
    1) As in if you want to use most effective cleansing (BODS contains inbult infor for Adderess cleansing) along with  some data governance(Validation, assignments,MDM Workflow) I would say fo with BO-MDM Integration.
    2) Here I am not sure via BODS - ECC you can handle ongoing maintainance , it is supreb for first time data load.
so it is better if you use ECC-BO-MDM ---> BI/ECC for smooth transition through out landscape.
    3) Here also try to check the data structure compactiblity between BODS and ECC as per their version, it can also create a big impact.
Hope these points can clear many doubts

  • SAP Business Objects Data Services 3.2 - Homogenous System Copy

    Hi All,
We have a SAP Business Objects Data Services 3.2.
I wanted to know if it is possible do a homogenous system copy or any alternate procedure. I just need to perform this on a Development system and move all its content to a new Sandbox installation.
Any info on this will be much useful.
    Thanks
    Jaianandh V

    Hi,
you could extract an ATL File from DEV and import it to Sandbox.
This can be done via the DS DEsigner. Please Check the DS Designer User Guide for more information.

  • Business Objects Data Service notify Busienss Objects Reporting ?

    Hi,
Do you see me if it's possible to notify Business Objects reporting when the Business Objects Data Services has finishing these jobs ?
It's a standard integration or customization in your side ?
    Thanks for your help
    Gilles

We had to customize it by putting in script code, at the end of the job, that updates a table with the job name time it started and time it completed. This table is then cross-referenced with the Universes and finally reports that it involves. The end users logon to a JSP page that we created that allows them to search by report name to determine if all jobs related to the report have completed. If even just one job is in progress or hasn't started, it shows the report as not being avaialble for execution.

  • Business Object Data Services

Hi! Is BO Data Services part of the MDM installation? or do we have to purchase this separately?
    Regards
    SF

Generally, SAP BusinessObjects Data Services and SAP NetWeaver MDM have separate license tags, but as of 2010,  there is also a combined license for SAP NetWeaver MDM and SAP Business Objects Data Services. For details, please contact your Account Manager.

  • Can we install Business Objects Data Services XI 3.2 with BOE 3.1 SP2

    Hi,
I want to install SAP Data Services XI 3.2 and BW 7.1 and BOE 3.1 SP2 are already in place. I want to know befor installation of Data Services that it is compatible with BOE 3.1 SP2. The documentation for Data services tell only about the compatibility of BW and not about BOE. If anybody has installed Data Services XI 3.2 with BOE 3.1 or knows about version compatibility, please shed some light.

    Yes,
I have tried install BOE 3.1 SP2 and DS 3.2 SP2 together on 1 machine Windows 2003 64 bit before.
    They works fine together.
Just make sure you deploy Tomcat correctly for DS Management Console.
    Hope this helps,

  • Problem on using Business Object Data Service Designer to copy data to HANA

    Expert,
I want to use BODSD (v14) to copy tables from SQL server to HANA, so I create Job,  Workflow,  dataflow, source tables in SQL server, target tables in HANA and Querys, then execute the job.
All tables have been successfully transferred to HANA expect those with Chinese Characters.
I checked the HANA configuration and even created some Chinese lines into HANA, it is proved that HANA supports Chinese.
So I suspect that I haven't activate UNICODE witin BODSD, but I don't know how.
If anybody could offer any help on this problem, I extremely appreciate. Thank you.
Here is one sector of error messages from BODSD:
    18964     17600     DBS-070401     10/26/2011 3:48:30 PM     Dataflow New_DataFlow|TVGAT
    18964     17600     DBS-070401     10/26/2011 3:48:30 PM     ODBC data source <HANA_hanabox1> error message for operation <SQLExecute>: <[SAP AG][SDBODBC DLL][HDB] General error;274
    18964     17600     DBS-070401     10/26/2011 3:48:30 PM     inserted value too large for column: 定单相关的项目>.
    Thank you.

I found the answer by myself. post it here . I was using BODSD to transfer tables from ERP DB to HANA.
The previous error is caused by definitely what the error message means, that the column of HANA table is too short.
    18964  17600  DBS-070401   10/26/2011 3:48:30 PM          Dataflow New_DataFlow|TVGAT
    18964  17600  DBS-070401   10/26/2011 3:48:30 PM          ODBC data source <HANA_hanabox1> error message for operation <SQLExecute>: <[SAP AG][SDBODBC DLL][HDB] General error;274
    18964  17600  DBS-070401   10/26/2011 3:48:30 PM          inserted value too large for column: 定单相关的项目>.
For example, Table u201CTVGATu201D has one column named u201CVRGARXu201D with the type varchar(20), however, there are lines with long Chinese String like u201C定单相关的项目u201D.
SQL Server can automatically append that column to hold these long strings, however HANA cannotu2026 so here is problem.
Now my solution is change the column definition of these HANA tables to longer, varchar(60), then everything is ok.
