Business Objects Integration for SAP
Is there something you have to install, or is every integration with BW or ERP possible out of the box?
If not, are there licence costs?

Business Objects Integration with SAP
I am trying to develop a seminar entitled "SAP Information Delivery with SAP" that will include a demo showing reports running against an SAP environment (IDES?). The environment, I would assume would be an IDES/BW environment.
My challenge is, even though I work for a BO partner, we are not an SAP customer, and I have no means of accessing IDES to setup for this demo.
Any advice for me? I've looked at leasing access to a remote SAP system which is expensive (e.g., www.michaelmanagement.com) and may not have the reliability that I will need for this seminar.
I have SAP experience and a BO XI environment running. I just need to hook my BO XI environment up to an SAP environment to learn more about it and to use for the demo in my seminar.
Regards,
Dave HoferI should have mentioned that I started with my partner/manager and they could not\would not help me. Of course, they are more focused (at the SMB level) on sales revenue and have no incentive to help partners increase their service revenue.

As you are going for the new installation of Business Objects Enterprise XI R3 you can find all the prerequisites for the installation like the disk space and all other such requirement in the documents provided in the following link.
You can have the Business Objects documents from the following site.

- Select the product as Business Objects Enterprise XI 3.0 and it will list all the document under the respective product.
You can find all the prerequisites in the Business Objects Enterprise admin guide. And if you need to have BO and SAP work together in conjunction you need to have the Business Objects Integration Kit for SAP. Integration Kit provides the database drivers and other features for reporting off SAP.

SAP Business Objects Analysis for Office 1.4 on Microfost Office 64-Bit Version
Hello,
Has anyone installed SAP Business Objects Analysis for Office 1.4 SP6 on Microsoft Office (Excel) 64-Bit Version. I am getting message "The launcher was not able to connect Analysis Add-In. Make sure that Analysis Add-In is not disabled by Office Application".
When I activated the Analysis Add-In, I am getting below Error: "Excel experienced a serious problem with the 'analysis' add-in." and it is forcing to disable the add-in and asking to check for if any update is available. It was working fine on 32-bit Excel version.
Thanks,
RamHi Tammy,
Thanks for the response. It is working fine on 32-bit Office version (with OS 64-bit). I checked the compatibility (OSS 1466118 ) and it supports Microsoft 64-bit office version. Just wanted to see if anyone had successful installation.
Thanks,

Business object type for parked invoices
Hi,
We are using documentum to store documents that have been attached to business object types in SAP. The business object types are configured in transaction OAC3 to point to a pre-configured content repository.
Having this configuration allows the object type to use the "services for objects" option, enabling it to store attachments.
The business object types for invoices have been configured and we are able to store attachments. However this does not seem to work for "Parked invoices". The configuration in the "services for objects" component is not there and the feature to store the attachment is disabled.
As the configuration needs to be done for all object types that need to be able to store attachments, maybe someone here can indicate what the object type is for parked invoices. Alternatively, maybe there is a way to look up the various business object types.
Any help you can provide is appreciated.
Thanks.
Kind Regards,
GiwanHi ,
Thank You for your reply.
I created inquiry . it takes BUS2031.But BUS2031 is used for quotation. But that inquiry is open in VA12(Change Inquiry) Transaction, not open in VA22(Change Quotation).
Is there any setting for BOR object types to Document Types.
Please give me a reply as early as possible. It's very urgent.

Business Object Types for Z-tables
hi
could anyone please guide me how to create business-object-types for Z-tables?
thanks in advance
regards
pavanHi,
Business objects (SWO1) are representations of business entities.
So it is impossible to ask I need to create a business object for a z-table, because that's not business specific.
Normally when you're faced with a BO issue, you first search for useable existing BO's. In there you also search if SAP has already provided the wanted functional requirement. If this is not present, you then search for a BO which is closest to the Functional requirement and then create a subtype of that BO en extend it to suit your needs (attributes, methods, events etc.) via delegation you can then also se it in sap standard.
for more infor check the SAP Business Workflow -

Issue in Application Module and Enterprise Integration for SAP applications
Hi,
When I enabled the Application Module and Enterprise Integration for SAP applications Version 2.60 Patch 2 I am getting error in defect entity and Application Module. Does any one face this issue? Please let me know the solution.
QC details: QC 11.0 with patch 7
I followed the steps given in ALM addin page to install the adapters
Attached Screen shots of the ErrorHi
If you are wanting to know how to configure ESSO to be used to logon to SAP applications then there is a guide in the helpfile of the admin console. Simply do a search for SAP.
In short ESSO-LM comes with a SAP helper object which needs to be selected on install. To enable the ESSO SAP helper to interact with SAP, the SAP server and the SAPGUI client need to be configured. The details for this are in the helpfile. If you have multiple SAP systems launched from the SAPGUI then this is the best method because it means ESSO can distinguish between the different SAP systems through matching screens
If you have only one SAP system and you do not want to configure the SAP server then you could use send keys and not use the SAP helper object at all.
Hope this helps -

Unable to Save more than 1 Business-object-provider for the Connector.
I m using MEP 1.0 Platform.
My Ecbo Connector "BankDb" had initially "Account" Object Provider which i was able to save successfully via the MEP console.Later on i added the "Statement" Object Provider to the same connector. But i get this Exception
java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: Object:
{[[email protected]f,
[email protected]55,
[email protected]f,
[email protected]c,
[email protected]2,
[email protected]d,
[email protected]9]} is not a known entity type.
I shut down my Server & then restarted it.i removed the AccountObject Provider & Added StatementObject Provider instead & clicked save & it saved my Connector Successfully But when i tried to add the AccountProvider too i get the same exception. In short i am unable to save both providers at the same time in the console.
I googled later on & found something Similar on java.net
https://glassfish.dev.java.net/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=3235
I am not sure about all of this as i am just a beginner.
Please Help
Thx in Advance
Alex.Hello, thanks for your interest in the GlassFish Mobility Platform. The ECBO architecture supports exactly one business-object-provider per connector. You could combine your account and statement data into a single composite business object. You could also upgrade to MEP 1.1 and use the dynamic data feature (JerseyME) on the client to retrieve dynamic data such as the statement report and use the business-object-provider for the synchronized data, ie. the account activity. For more information see the [Sun GlassFish Mobility Platform 1.1 Developer's Guide for Enterprise Connectors|http://docs.sun.com/app/docs/doc/820-7207] .

BW toolbar add for BOBJ Integration for SAP..silent add
I have searched and searched but cannot find the command-line syntax for adding/enabling the BW toolbar in the BOBJ Integration for SAP installation. I need to do this to a few remote PC's. I know how to do this from the GUI..but would like to do it from a command line. Can someone please help?
Thank you!!
BusinessObjects XI Integration for SAP Solutions 12.1.0.890 SP2 Patch 2.9Due to the patch level you have the easiest way is to first uninstall all BO components and then install them again.
You can use the -w command line parameter of setup.exe in order to record an installation script
eg. setup.exe -w myInstallScript.ini) in which you choose the BW toolbar option
You can use then the recorded script to do the silent installation on the workstation you want
eg. setup.exe -r myInstallScript.ini.
Do not forget to copy the recorded script.
The -w and -r flags work for the BI XI 3.1 and CR 2008 installers (setup.exe) incl. Service Packs and Fix Packs.
