Business Objects XI R2 SP2 with Tomcat and Security Manager enabled

XI R2 SP2 Unix server:
I need to start the tomcat that is embedded in Business Objects with Security Manager enabled. Is there a writeup on how to do that? This changes the port that tomcat runs on, so do I just change all references to the port that it is currently running? Is it that simple?
Thanks for any advice!

It sounds like an issue that would need to be troubleshot by an engineer. Can you open  a message with support?
Cluster members for client tools are defined in the windows registry. Does infoview work?

  • Cannot uninstall Business Objects 6.5 SP2

    I'm going through the Windows Add or Remove Programs and selecting Business Objects 6.5 SP2.  First off I get a dialog box to "Install or remove fixes"?! with 2 radio buttons "Install Fixes" and "Remove Fixes".  Only "Install Fixes" is enabled, so I select it and click on Next.
    From there I get a dialog titled "SelectFile.exe - Application Error".  Inside it says
    The instruction at "0x004058a5" referenced memory at "0x000000000". The memory could not be "read".
    After which I get the dialog saying InstallShield Wizard has successfully installed Business Objects 6.5 SP2.
    I just want to uninstall the program.

    Hi Steraji
    You  can try to silently uninstall BusinessObjects 6.5 SP2 by running the EXE file:
    follow the below steps:
    Download BusinessObjects 6.5 SP3 from the Electronic Software Delivery (ESD) site.
    Place it in a folder (for example SP3) on your C drive.
    Create the list.txt file by typing the following at the command prompt:
              C:\sp3\Setup.exe -r -g list.txt
    Open the list.txt in a text editor keeping only one fix from SP2.
    Save the file.
    Remove SP2 from the machine by typing the following at the command prompt:
              C:\sp3\Setup.exe -r -x list.txt
    Open the Setup_CP.log file on your C drive for the details of the uninstall.
    Hope this helps.

  • How to use JMS with tomcat and Axis

    Hello
    I'm new in ii, so i'm still a little bit lost. I have been implementing web services with tomcat and Axis. However, these services are synchronous and I would like that some services were asynchronous.
    I've been reading about the topic and I've found that JMS is a good solution for it. I have already downloaded JMS in my computer but now I don't know what else to do. I've been trying to run the SimpleQueueSender.java example but I get the error:
    JNDI API lookup failed: javax.naming.NoInitialContextException: Need to specify class name in environment or system property, or as an applet parameter, or in an application resource file: java.naming.factory.initial
    But I have attached all .jar from F:\Sun\MessageQueue\lib
    In addition to this, for my first webservices I used the Java2WSDL, WSDL2Java and AdminClient (axis tool) to create my web services bindings, stubs and skeletons and to deploy the web service on the server. Do I have to use them now with JMS? or now the deployment must be performed in a different way?
    Thank you in advanced,

    The error means that you have to specify the type and location of your jndi store. You could create a jndi.properties file and put two properties in it:
    java.naming.provider.url=file\\\:////var/jndi
    java.naming.factory.initial=com.sun.jndi.fscontext.RefFSContextFactory
    for a file based jndi store. Then you have to make sure your jndi.properties file is in your CLASSPATH. Then you have to use something like imqadmin to create your jndi store and store in it your administrative objects like Queues and QueueConnectionFactories.

    Hi
    Please go through this functional module HRMS_BIW_EXTRACT_PY1 in r/3 side to know the exact table where u r getting the data.
    There are lot of tables involved in HR-payroll info types.
    As far as your problem is concerned you take one employee and go to PA20 and analyse the payroll for each week or twice a month (depends up on ur client)
    run the report on the payroll cube and find out exactly what u want.

    Hi David,
         Thanks for getting back to me.  One question, Do I need to install CMS seperately or the does
         the BusinessObjects installs it?
         When I did the BusinessObjects install it installed the Microsoft SQL server 2008 Express and created an
         SQL Server Instance named BOE140.  I checked with Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio (which I downloaded from Microsoft) and saw that no tables were created.
         Regarding the message
         "(.\crypto.cpp:199). (FALSE : digest exception: The FIPS140 shared library could not be found (10027))."
         listed in the log file above,  what is my system missing.
         Looks like CMS is not getting installed.
         I am doing the install on a VMware Windows 2008 system with 8 GB ram and 50 GB file space.
         Are there any special requirements of configuration on the Windows system?
         Thanks for your help,
         Arvind

  • Business Objects XI 3.1 SP4 Infoview and IE9 HTTP Status 400 - Invalid path

    Hi There,
    When I working in Infoview with IE9 32Bit or 64Bit and I right click on any object i.e Crystal Report, Folder, Webi Report etc. and select properties I get the following Error
    HTTP Status 400 - Invalid path /PlatformServices/properties was requested
    Has any one got a workaround or a solution for this problem.
    Server - BOE XI 3.1 with SP4 running on a Windows Server 2008 R2 64 bit.
    Client PC`s\Laptops  - Windows 7 64 bit
    Kind Regards,
    Frikkie

    Dear all,
    Seems the issue is browser compatibility ans the below solution may work in your case
    HTTP 400 occurs because of URL difference between IE9 and older versions of supported IE. To resolve this issue, this error in Tomcat will be redirected to a HTML script that applies new URL format. Please follow this 3 steps process:
    STEP ONE: Solution in InfoViewAppActions Folder:
    1) Go to “D:\Business Objects\Tomcat55\webapps\InfoViewAppActions” folder. This folder already has httperror_404.htm and httperror_500.jsp by default.  Rename httperror_404.htm to httperror_404_backup.htm.
    2) Copy and paste the attached file from InfoViewAppActions folder (httperror_400.htm and httperror_404.htm) into “D:\Business Objects\Tomcat55\webapps\InfoViewAppActions” folder. Go to “D:\Business Objects\Tomcat55\webapps\InfoViewAppActions\WEB-INF”
    3) Take a backup of web.xml file and name it as web_backup.xml
    4) Open the file and paste the following script after the Error 404 error handling and save.
    Before:
    <error-page>
            <error-code>404</error-code>
    <location>/httperror_404.htm</location>
        </error-page>
    After:
    <error-page>
    <error-code>404</error-code>
    <location>/httperror_404.htm</location>
        </error-page>
        <error-page>
    <error-code>400</error-code>
    <location>/httperror_400.htm</location>
        </error-page>
    STEP TWO: Solution in AnalyticalReporting Folder:
    1) Go to “D:\Business Objects\Tomcat55\webapps\ AnalyticalReporting” folder. This folder already has httperror_404.htm and httperror_500.jsp by default.  Rename httperror_404.htm to httperror_404_backup.htm.
    2) Copy and paste the attached file from AnalyticalReporting folder (httperror_400.htm and httperror_404.htm) into “D:\Business Objects\Tomcat55\webapps\ AnalyticalReporting” folder. Go to “D:\Business Objects\Tomcat55\webapps\ AnalyticalReporting \WEB-INF”
    3) Take a backup of web.xml file and name it as web_backup.xml
    4) Open the file and paste the following script after the Error 404 error handling and save.
    Before:
    <error-page>
    <error-code>404</error-code>
    <location>/httperror_404.htm</location>
        </error-page>
    After:
    <error-page>
    <error-code>404</error-code>
    <location>/httperror_404.htm</location>
        </error-page>
        <error-page>
    <error-code>400</error-code>
    <location>/httperror_400.htm</location>
        </error-page>

  • Business Objects sessions bleeding together with OpenDoc reports

    I have a custom application that logs a user into Business Objects, and calls OpenDoc using the generated loginToken. I store the Business Objects session in the application session. If you log into the application as one user and open a report with the following query:
    <br><br>
    SELECT
      mtf.id
    FROM
      mtf,
      facilities,
      users
    WHERE
      facilities.id = mtf.id
      AND facilities.id = users.facility_id
      AND users.login_name = @Variable('BOUSER')
    <br><br>
    The query runs correctly and returns the correct result. If you log out of the application without closing the browser window, log in as a different user and run the same report you get the result the first user got, as if the @Variable('BOUSER') was returning the first username.
    <br><br>
    Each user is logged into Business Objects with their own username, I have verified this in the code. I aslo verified that When the first user logs out of the application the Business Objects session is destroyed, and a new one created for the second user. Looking at the HTTP headers I have seen that when the first user logs in and opens a report the following cookie gets set:
    <br><br>
    HTTP/1.1 200 OK
    Set-Cookie:
    InfoViewses=3%261%2C8P%264E%3D1704Jk1XlRb8I5GtMTG1%2C8P%26Tn%3D%7B3%26.1%3D%7B3%262%3D1608%2C03%26O%3DFavoritesFolder%2C0P%7D%2C2z%26.2%3D%7B3%262%3

    <br><br>
    The second user who logs in already has this set with the same value, including the testuser1 string which is the username of the first user. This is the only place I can see the username getting passed around.
    <br><br>
    This is how I log users in to Business Objects and get the logon Token:
    <br><br>
    IEnterpriseSession session = CrystalEnterprise.getSessionMgr().logon(username, defaultPassword, cmsHostName + ":" + cmsPort, authType);
    String logonToken = session.getLogonTokenMgr().getDefaultToken();
    <br><br>
    This is how I launch the reports:
    <br><br>
    String url = serverUrl + "/OpenDocument/opendoc/openDocument.jsp?sIDType=CUID&sType=wid&sRefesh=Y&iDocID=" + reportCuid + "&token=" + logonToken;
    <br><br>
    This problem does not occur with logging in and out of infoview. I am using Business Objects XI 3.1 SP2
    <br><br>
    Thanks for your help

    When you log into InfoView, it creates a string representing the serialization of the Enterprise Session, and passes it to the client web browser as a cookie.
    When you log out of InfoView, then it deletes the cookie.
    The cookie is used for session persistence, such that the Enterprise Session will carry over to the different web apps that comprise the InfoView portal.
    The difference with invoking OpenDocument is that there's no mechanism for logging off the session within OpenDocument, and OpenDocument uses the same cookie (since OpenDocument is invoked from InfoView, it needs to know the Enterprise Session under with the requester is logged onto InfoView).
    So one possible workaround is to not pass the DefaultToken - it's used for failover - but rather the WCA token (createWCAToken).
    The WCA token is valid only for the lifetime duration of the EnterpriseSession that generated it.   Since you're keeping around the Enterprise Session yourself, and you do log it off, the serialized session in the cookie should be invalidated on the subsequent call.

    Ted Ueda

  • E-Business Suite 11i with ESSO and Identity Manager

    Hi,
    We want to use Identity Manager to provision user information to Active Directory, MS Exchange, and E-Business Suite. Also, intend to deploy e-sso to provide single sign-on experience for desktop and web based applications.
    Has anyone integrated Oracle E-Business Suite 11.5.10.2 with Enterprise Single Sign-On and Identity Manager (Identity Management)?
    Can we achieve it without using Oracle Internet Directory/OracleAS 10g Single Sign-On?
    Any relevant information or issues faced during integration, would be helpful.
    Regards.

    Hi,
    for this integration you will need Provisioning Gateway component of the ESSO suite, and the included OIM-ESSO PG Connector.
    The eBusiness Java interface can be integrated with eSSO, trough the java helper object.
    There are several metalink notes that describe the OIM-PG integration:
    NOTE: 550639.1 eSSO: Overview And Troubleshooting Of OIM Integration With Provisioning Gateway
    NOTE: 550642.1 eSSO: OIM PG Integration: ProvisioningInstructionException: The user is not authorized for the action
    NOTE: 550645.1 eSSO: OIM PG Integration: Error in Sending Request to web service
    NOTE: 550646.1 eSSO: OIM PG Integration: Unsupported major.minor version 49.0
    NOTE: 550641.1 eSSO: OIM PG Integration: Add_credential Execution Failed. Error: XPathFactory
    NOTE: 550643.1 eSSO: OIM PG Integration: Could not find IT asset value for Svr_key
    Yes, with eSSO-OIM you wont need Oracle Internet Directory/OracleAS 10g Single Sign-On.

    If you're using Tomcat, JARs in the /common/lib directory are available to all applications deployed on that instance of Tomcat.
    I prefer putting them in the WEB-INF/lib of my web app, even if that means duplication. That way my app doesn't depend on having the server set up a certain way. I deploy them as a WAR file with everything they need enclosed within,no more and no less. They're completely portable to any servlet/J2EE engine that way.

  • SSL mutual authentication with Tomcat and IE

    Hi,
    I am trying to set up mutual ssl with Tomcat.
    Everything works fine on the server but I cannot authenticate the client.
    The client is my internet explorer browser. This is what I have tried.
    -Generated an ssl server certificate using keytool.
    -Generated a certificate for the client
    -exported it to a .cer file
    -imported it to a truststore and moved it into the cacerts file
    I have verified this because tomcat lists my client certificate as a trusted
    one at start up.
    After this I installed the .cer file into IE and tried accessing the server.
    Handshake fails: "bad_certificate"
    I have searched all around the net trying to find someone who had done something like this, could not find anything. Can anyone please help me through this setup.
    -thanks

    Oh I find that there is different code base of WLS 7.0.0!!
    - WLS 7.0.0 of Mai 2002 is propagating the principal correctly with SSL
    mutual authentication.
    - WLS 7.0.0 of Juli 2002 is NOT propagating anymore! (the patch is appliable
    to this)
    Obviously BEA published different nightly builds of the same WLS 7.0.0 on
    the web.
    Is this normal?

    I think that SP1 has a bug: it cannot propagate the principal when SSL
    mutual
    authentication is used. I fixed it with a small patch. Now the principalis
    propagated
    correctly with SSL mutual authentication on WLS 7.0.1 (WLS 7.0.0 isworking

    Hi all
    I make SSL mutual authentication work between 2 WLS 7.0 servers.
    As I upgrade to WLS 7.0 SP1 the principal propagation doesn't workanymore:
    the principal on the target WLS is always "anonymous"!
    Is this a bug or is there something new to parametrize?

    Well, once you're already using MyEclipse, I have it set up even simpler than that. Go to Window/Preferences/MyEclipse/Application Servers/Tomcat4/Launch and set the launch mode to debug.
    This works if the project is successfully setup as a webproject in MyEclipse.
    My problem is that I have a project that was not developed with MyEclipse and for some reason does not work when I set it up as a web project in MyEclipse. MyEclipse seem to do something funny with it when I establish the project. Now, if I set it up simply as a java project (as oppposed to Web Project) in myEclipse, then MyEclipse does not give me an option of deploying it.
    Any ideas about how I would go about debugging a project that's not set up as a Web Project in my eclipse?
